We were there before a concert. A small slice of pizza was unfortunately a bit overpriced. No table service, but the service behind the counter was great. The drink selection and atmosphere were excellent. 👍

Sudden Death Brewpub – a manifesto of hops and electric guitars. An old converted industrial warehouse, punk 'n' roll emanating from the speakers, a raw and honest atmosphere. The service is good, the food takes a bit of time, but the pizza delivers. The beers are uncompromising: sometimes a hoppy wrecking ball, sometimes a malty dessert in a glass – always loud, always on point. No marketing gimmicks, just honest brewing culture. This isn't just a place to drink, it's a place to live.

Simply a cool location, especially if you have a sailboat in winter storage nearby. Great beers and truly unique, delicious pizzas.

The pizza was absolutely delicious! The four of us spent the evening here. We tried a few beers and ordered two tasting tablets. It was quite busy that evening, so we had to wait a bit longer for our drinks. However, the staff were all very friendly. The brewery can also be booked as an event venue and offers ample seating both inside and outside.

Really cool place with a great selection of interesting beers! Sudden Death Brewing makes some awesome beers, and seem to be especially talented within IPAs and funky sours. The selection from tap is great with a good variety of different styles, but however with many IPAs (but really good ones!). It is also possible to get some pizzas to eat, and the staff is delivering table service later in the evening. A great place for any beer lover! 🍻

We were there for an event (a concert). The location is very cool, the beer selection impressive and varied, and the ambiance, even outside, is such that you want to stay. We've been there several times and have also raided the online shop.

Everything is designed for service, but all three waitresses we had left a lot to be desired. The first request for a tasting board of different beer varieties was sheer overwhelm. A single beer was recommended and brought. A question about an adjustment to the meal: "The kitchen doesn't like that..." The menu states that you should ask the staff about dessert. I asked, and the answer was: "It looks pretty bad today, but I'll see if we have anything left..." The lady never came back - no answer. The pizzas were delicious and the drinks were tasty too. The atmosphere was very cool. The cleanliness of the restrooms, however, was questionable. We didn't feel like sitting there any longer after dinner and drinking our way through the beer menu, as we had originally planned that evening.

Seit ich vor ein paar Jahren das erste Mal da war ist das SD ein Muß wenn ich in Lübeck bin. Die Pizzen sind phänomenal, ich empfehle die Good Bye Ms Piggy. Und das Bier ist eine Offenbarung für jeden Craft Bier Fan. Bin mittlerweile ca 3 Mal im Jahr da und nehme mir immer auch ein paar Bierchen für zu Hause mit. Ach ja: Das Metal/Horror Thema trifft auch genau meinen Nerv. Bester Laden! 🤘

Nice ambiance. Rustic/industrial style – and right in the brewery or in front of it. Really good pizzas, great creations too. Service is friendly and attentive. And of course, plenty of beer, with a constantly changing selection. If I'm in Lübeck again, I'll be back.

Jeg var på stedet med mine børn for at spise aftensmad, købe et par øl på dåse samt få en enkelt øl til maden. Stedet er godt og imødekommende med fremragende øl og fornuftige pizzaer. Pizzaerne smager udemærket men kunne smage af mere. Nachos anretningen er tæt på ligegyldig Øllene er øl fra øverste hylde!

The music was loud and rocky, making it unenthusiastic. Pizza strips were burnt black.

Located in an old warehouse and former harbor area, the space has a rustic, industrial charm. They serve a variety of craft beers and, for food, they mostly serve pizza. The pizza, however, is truly excellent! The staff is also very friendly and not averse to a little chat.

Look at the menu... need I say anything else? Except maybe the brutally delicious IPA and the fluffy, unusual, awesome pizza!

Was there for the presentation of the metal radio play LB steel. #metal #lbsteel - The beer brewed especially for the event is excellent. The service outside was super fast, and the food at the truck was very good. Inside, I didn't understand the logistics for a small slice of pizza, where the crew took 25 minutes to heat it up after ordering. Another tip for you, the #operators: please put small barriers at the entrances to the restrooms, as many people were caught by the doors when they were opened from the inside... Overall, a recommendable place with special, very good beers!!!

Awesome and very diverse craft beer/sodas/cocktails/mocktails, delicious vegetarian and vegan pizza, and the staff were super friendly, helpful, and attentive!!! I give it a definite 10/10. The atmosphere is simply great, the kitchen and bar area seem clean, tidy, and hygienic, and the restrooms were also very clean and very attractively decorated. If you like craft beer, rock, or just good pizza, "Sudden Death" is THE place in Lübeck. We had a great time and will definitely be back!!!!

I finally managed to check out your site; I've been thirsty following your progress for a while. Friday was the day. Beautiful shop, right next to the brewery, it's especially fun to drink, everything is so harmonious. The beer has always been great, without question. Even though I've tried a few different beers, I can definitely get hooked on Willie's Doom Trip. So if any of you are ever passing through Regensburg, feel free to drop off a crate with me. The pizzas are also great, and a big thumbs up for the option to order the vegetarian pizzas vegan. Sure, my bank account is crying a little now, but it was worth it, and I now have one more reason to keep coming back to Lübeck. A big thank you also goes out to Robin. A really nice person who can give you insights into the brewery. So if you want to learn more about beer, there are also brewery tours here. Always good. And of course, last but not least, a big thank you to Vanessa for the excellent advice on the menu. Keep it up!

Simply a thoroughly enjoyable experience. It was truly enjoyable. Thanks for the good beer, the amazing pizza, and the wonderful service. Even though it's a bit of a drive from us, we'd love to come back!

Anyone who loves craft beer and is in Lübeck should visit Suddendeath at least once. The beers are rotated very regularly, so after about three months, the menu is almost completely new, except for the four Lübi beers that are always on the menu. The outdoor area is also ideal for a relaxed tasting when the weather's nice. We've been there twice now and will probably go back and enjoy it again the next time.

A place just my style. A definite recommendation for craft beer fans, but the pilsner and especially the Kellerpilsner are also great. The pizzas are "different" but fit perfectly with the overall concept. The staff is cheerful and the atmosphere is great. It certainly won't be my last visit, and I'll be ordering beer tomorrow =)

An absolute highlight! The craft beers are really well-made, and the pizzas, while not overly large, are very tasty. The ambiance is simply fantastic. If you're in Lübeck and have a penchant for truly well-crafted beer, you have to come here!

As an American living in Lübeck, I can officially give this brewery two thumbs WAY up on offering that authentic US brewery feeling. Not only does the wide drink selections change regularly, this place offers what I consider - and I very much stand by this statement - the best pizza in Northern Germany. As if having good food and drink isn't enough, the staff here is absolutely the cherry on top of an already stellar experience. Everyone is so nice and accommodating. We rented out the private room for an engagement party and the team went above and beyond to make our every wish a reality. I don't even really like beer, this I LOVE Sudden Death! (They usually have amazing ciders and wines as well, so regardless of your preferences, there is something for everyone.) I cannot recommend this place enough, make sure you check it out - you won't be disappointed!

Super cozy, good pizzas and exciting beers

I think the location is great. I highly recommend the beer, food, and staff. Personally, I find the background music too loud. Conversations are very tiring both inside and outside. The prices are controversial. A can of beer for almost €10 and a portion of fries for €5 are something you have to be able to afford. I was really looking forward to your food truck. Unfortunately, only one of the three listed dishes was available for the 3rd annual party. Please be sure to plan for more next time.

Industrial design location, lots of home-brewed beers, snacks and pizza. It's best to load the map beforehand using a QR code. Staff very friendly and generally attentive. The exuberantly advertised pizza tastes good, but there is a bit of a price/performance gap as it is quite expensive for its size. Some of the beers were served in English, i.e. with little or no foam. All in all, recommended with some reservations!

We like to come here regularly and just ate pizza again today and drank great beers. If you are served by an employee like Bo, the beer tastes even better. We'd love to come back

The waitresses are friendly and very helpful. Unfortunately, the food takes a while to arrive at peak times. The dips for the Neapolitan pizza crust are a great idea. A children's corner would look good in the place.

The staff offers very good service and is casually friendly. The dishes are impeccable. Subjectively, I don't particularly like the ambience, but that's a matter of individual taste and didn't detract from the overall experience of our visit. Reasonably priced in my opinion.

No matter which pizza I have eaten, they are all extremely tasty. Large selection of Beers. No off-the-shelf beer and that's a good thing. The staff are all relaxed and polite. The advice on the different beers is also top notch. On weekends it is recommended to reserve a table. Then nothing stands in the way of enjoyment.

A little out of the way, rustic pub with its own brewery. The variety of beer has a lot to offer with various alcohol variations. There is also non-alcoholic beer. Everything that came looked good and delicious. The gimmick when eating pizza is the pizza scissors. Just try it out. Gladly again.

We celebrated our wedding at Sudden Death with about 140 people. It was fantastic. The atmosphere was great, the venue was casual, all the staff were friendly, did a great job, and made all our guests feel at home. We're glad we chose Sudden Death and grateful for the fantastic evening. The selection and quantity of food was also top-notch. No one went to bed hungry, and as a challenge, everyone could try to drink all the beers on the menu. Well done, dear SD team <3

Wir haben Pizza bestellt und wurden nicht enttäuscht. Sehr leckere Pizza und absolut frischer Teig. Auch die verschiedenen Sorten von Bier waren alle lecker. Wir kommen bestimmt bald wieder.

It is one of the best breweries in Germany. There is excellent craft beer. The IPAs, sours and stouts deserve special mention here. The regular events are also always worth a visit.

Great beer with great pizza and great events

Special atmosphere with good friendly service. Unfortunately it was a bit too much for a waiter with a student to help. We had pre-ordered, when the wrong pizzas came to the table, we were told that there was an old menu on the internet.

Absolut überwältigt war ich von diesem außergewöhnlichen kulinarischen Erlebnis! Die Pizzen waren schlichtweg sensationell, ein wahrer Gaumenschmaus. Besonders angetan war ich von den ausgefallen belegten Variationen, die eine wahre Explosion an Aromen boten. Man merkte sofort, dass hier mit viel Liebe zum Detail und hochwertigen Zutaten gearbeitet wird. Da wir leider an der Bar sitzen mussten, konnte ich einige Einblicke in die Küche erhalten. Das Küchenteam hat mich mit seiner beeindruckenden Leistung restlos überzeugt. Aber nicht nur die Pizzen waren ein Highlight, auch die riesige Auswahl an erlesenen Craft-Bieren ließ keine Wünsche offen. Für jeden Geschmack war etwas dabei, und die kompetente Beratung des Personals half bei der Auswahl des passenden Bieres. Die Atmosphäre im Restaurant war einladend und gemütlich, man fühlte sich sofort wohl. Der Service war aufmerksam und freundlich, und man merkte, dass die Mitarbeiter mit Leidenschaft bei der Sache sind. Insgesamt war mein Besuch ein rundum gelungenes Erlebnis, das ich so schnell nicht vergessen werde. Nächstes Mal reservieren wir einen Tisch neben den Braukesseln, um den Flair der Brauerei noch besser zu genießen. Ich kann dieses Restaurant jedem empfehlen, der auf der Suche nach außergewöhnlichen Pizzen und einer großen Auswahl an Craft-Bieren ist.

I always enjoy coming here! A great, relaxed atmosphere paired with very friendly and attentive service and delicious beer. Even if it is a little out of the way, a detour is highly recommended. What I think is a bit of a shame is that the beer menu varies so much. When you find a great beer, it often happens that it is no longer being served two weeks later. For me, a new beer doesn't have to be released every month. But that doesn't stop me from coming over regularly :)

A very stylish and interesting location with friendly service, a large selection of beers and drinks, as well as food. The pizza (various variations) is recommended. If you're lucky, you can watch the brewers work while you eat. The view of the brewing facilities is open. An impressive backdrop. Been there several times. No deterioration over the years. Steady and good solid kitchen/furnishings.

I'm not a beer fan, but SDB is worth a visit. You can comfortably enjoy your pizza in the brewery atmosphere next to gigantic kettles. The prices are reasonable and the beers (I'm told) are very good. The staff is on their toes and looks after the guests with a pleasant relaxed attitude. The outdoor area is also very pleasant and invites you to linger when the temperatures are warm. Dogs are allowed and even very welcome.

A completely different place to go out. If you love beer, this is the place for you. There are an incredible number of varieties, 20 of which are on tap. The service is relaxed and cheerful, and the pizzas are refreshingly different.

At Suddendeath, beers are still brewed by hand, the focus is on hops, but there are now also very good sour, core range and historically influenced beers. You can order everything online, the very varied merchandising also has to be praised, I love the patches!! We were there briefly on a flying visit in July 2024, before regular operations. Even though there was a lot to do, they took a moment for us, there was a short private tour and then two beers. Really TOP! We'll be back! Then also for food 😅

I love beer. And I love pizza. So please believe me when I say that the beer and pizza in this place are some of the best I have ever had. I also found the service very good. Nothing to add but….Absolutely wonderful.
