I occasionally spend my breaks at this branch. But I'm regularly disappointed because the staff can't manage to open the store on time. Most recently, I arrived at 10:05 a.m. on a Tuesday and found the doors closed.

On Wednesday, October 22, 2025, I tried to redeem a Magenta (Telekom) voucher for a 15cm subwoofer. Unfortunately, it didn't work. The employee didn't speak German, only English, which wasn't a problem, but he did make it clear to me that he couldn't scan the Magenta QR code. So, unfortunately, I had to leave the restaurant hungry.

I've been a regular customer for years, but today was the last straw for me. The staff are completely overwhelmed, don't speak a word to customers, questions are skillfully ignored, the wait times are excruciatingly long, and ordering seems to be only possible via terminal. The store thrives on its staff. Since the old one is gone, where we always felt very comfortable (greetings go out!), who still spoke to us and could easily take our orders, today was our last sub in this branch. On top of that, there was an unidentifiable plant on my sub, which definitely had no business being there. A shame! Adios and never see you again.

The shop is very clean, but the employees are a disaster. I had the impression they were forced to work there. Extremely unfriendly. I had trouble ordering and asked for help, but I was ignored. After the food was prepared, I had a question about the ingredients because it looked like the semi-hard cheese was missing, which it was. He poked around in my food and said it was there. I couldn't find it. Then he said I was getting on his nerves. I find it unacceptable to treat customers like that.

When the store is open (we've been there several times and it was closed even though the website said it was open), you're lucky if you're not turned away because it's too crowded. The employees are unfriendly; most of them don't even say hello or goodbye. The food is sometimes good, sometimes bad, depending on whether the employees do it right; often the wrong sauce has been put on it, and things you paid extra for have been forgotten. We try to avoid it these days because most of the time when we go there, the store is crowded and you wait an hour, or it's closed!

Unfortunately, the staff is rude and overwhelmed. Orders are incorrectly filled, knives aren't even washed, and gloves are used for making toppings and taking the cash. Yuck. The wait time is easily 30 minutes. We won't be back.

My experience at this Subway branch was very disappointing. I had to wait an unusually long time, even though there were only a few customers in front of me, and the process seemed chaotic. The staff couldn't speak German, meaning simple requests and questions weren't understood. Service, speed, and customer communication were completely lacking—I won't be going there again.

ABSOLUTELY NOT RECOMMENDED I was there on October 4th and ordered via terminal. I've rarely seen such incompetent staff at Subway. It takes three people to make a sub, and one person just watches. Apparently, no one can clean the place. I waited 15 minutes after ordering, which is fine. Then the employee said he could pack different cookies than the one I ordered, because the others weren't ready yet. I denied this and said I wanted the cookies I ordered, claiming they were cooling down and it would take another 10 minutes. After waiting 15 minutes, I asked again about the cookies, and he dug them out from some corner. After I said it was 6 cookies I'd ordered, another employee called out, but not all of them were of that variety (there were only 6 on the tray). After I said, "Of course I ordered them and paid," he said nothing more. The cookies were cold and hard; they weren't freshly baked. Are employees now hoarding the cookies for themselves, or what's the point of such things?

The employees barely speak German anymore. When I entered the store, an employee wearing disposable gloves was standing behind the counter, playing on his phone. Even when the store is quiet, the employees rarely manage to greet you. It makes you want to leave immediately and get canned food from Netto. We only went there because they offer free parking in front of the door. And Subway is supposed to be sooo good compared to other fast food restaurants. Ordering at the counter isn't an option anymore, which is why I usually avoid restaurants like that, but we were hungry.

2* for cleanliness, speed, and friendliness. Why not more is easy to explain. There are terminals where you order. A great invention. But what good is the best technology if the two employees don't put what was chosen on the sub? Most annoying is that ingredients that were even paid for at a surcharge were missing from both subs. That's called cheating. I also wonder how two identical subs can have a weight difference of 45 grams "according to my scale." Respect. Considering that all employees are supposedly trained accordingly, this difference is simply too large. I will avoid this place in the future.

Disappointing service – not even worth a star. The advertised opening hours are unfortunately ignored. Half an hour before closing time, you're simply turned away – with the explanation that the store still needs cleaning. Meanwhile, the staff stands outside the store smoking and casually chatting with friends in the parking lot. This is definitely not what customer service looks like. Service has clearly been misunderstood here.

The staff is very unfriendly to customers. Ingredients are constantly forgotten on orders, hair is found in orders, and people wear gloves to run their hands through their hair and even use the cash register. Today we ordered, and up until that point, everything was fine. However, if the employees hadn't flirted with two girls, I would have received my entire order (instead of 30 cm, I only got 15 cm for the full price of a 30 cm sandwich). Next time, maybe don't get distracted by underage girls and pay attention to the preparation ;)

Incredibly bad service. You only order at the terminal, then you do it, and then you're told they're out of macadamia cookies, which are displayed on the terminal. The connection to the app and the rewards program doesn't work here either! One of the worst stores I've ever visited, and I go to Subway several times a month...

I was mostly satisfied with the sub, although depending on the employee, the toppings were a bit sparse. Today we ordered salads and were more than disappointed. The entire "salad" barely covered the wrapper and was nothing more than what was on the sub. So, it was more of a pickle, not to be expected. Additionally, two salads were missing the dressing and cheese. The flavor was good.

I used to really like the store, BUT! Unfortunately, things have gotten so bad there. The staff are incredibly unfriendly, they talk about customers and gossip about colleagues! The staff have to be repeatedly reminded that ingredients are missing from their orders! They touch their hair or operate the cash register with gloves on. Employees go on their break even though the store is extremely busy and say, "Enjoy your meal!" Today I was cheekily told to sit down while I waited for my order! I didn't want to because my daughter likes to watch the food being prepared! When I said no, thank you, all I got from the dark-haired lady was a "WHAT!" She made it clear to me that if I stand there, others will think I'm ordering there. What this lady said was such nonsense, and then she complained about me to her colleague! Unfortunately, I can only agree. Clean is something else entirely!

The employee obviously didn't feel like doing that and told us to order at the terminal. But we didn't want to do that because it would take time, and we only had a short break. Then she said goodbye in a totally unfriendly tone. This makes me wonder what people who can't read do when they are denied food by the employees in such an impossible and rude manner. After eight orders, they finally understood that they were out of sesame bread. Everyone was annoyed; the one who seemed to have the most say took out the trash, and five minutes later, with a grabbing of his hair, he finally helped out by turning off the ordering terminals because they couldn't keep up. Overall, the worst experience there so far.

Actually, I've always been a fan of Subway. The last visit was totally wrong. An older lady entered the store and asked if you had to order at the terminal. The employee said if you ask me nicely, I'll help you. The lady left the restaurant saying no thanks. The employee just said “it doesn’t matter, it’s not our target group anyway”. How cheeky... every customer who wants to leave their money should be part of the target group. PS ordering at the terminals is really crap.

The shop remains a mess. Staff have been poorly trained for ages, it's full and the staff smokes outside. The terminals don't work properly, my card (regular debit card) was rejected by the terminal both contactlessly and via the chip and the staff then tells you that you can only pay in cash or you have to leave again. The handling of the terminal and the regulations are obviously very different if you read the reviews here.

No longer recommended. I enjoyed eating there. A sub now costs €10 and is currently very limited. With 3 cucumber slices, 6-7 lettuce leaves and a drop of sauce. So that you really don't have a bad taste in your mouth anymore. Only the dry bread with a lot of side dishes. For the price I expect something different. Apart from the food, I personally think the thing with the ordering terminals sucks. Where is the connection to the customers? Basically, I was always enthusiastic about the store. Nice staff, good food, clean. But that has changed today, because suddenly the curly-haired employee (incredibly unfriendly and cheeky towards the customer), whom I disturbed during his break (10:30?), has suddenly reinvented the wheel and says you can only order at the terminal. Funny how things were different last week?! If it is actually the case that you can only order at the terminal, please write it somewhere in large size or sign it! Unfortunately our visit was very disappointing. The customer in front of us had already had problems with the change - it was obviously given incorrectly, but instead of admitting the mistake or politely looking for a solution, the situation was simply dismissed. No accommodation, no insight. When it was our turn, the ordering terminal wasn't working properly, but instead of helping or offering an alternative, we were left standing with a shrug. Customer service doesn't seem to be a priority here. It's a shame - you feel absolutely unwelcome as a guest. I've always been very satisfied so far, but the store has really slowed down.

The staff were very nice, but the tables and floor were quite dirty. With three people on a shift, it should be possible to wipe down the tables and sweep the floor. I also hope this is the only branch where you can only order at these terminals. The great thing about Subway was always that you could have your subs topped from scratch, however you wanted. Unfortunately, this is no longer possible; you can only make minor adjustments to the finished subs via the terminal. The bottom line is that I don't need to go to Subway anymore if this is the case everywhere now. Unfortunately, very disappointing.

No toppings on the sandwich is the new standard. The cookie selection is made by the staff and not the customer?! Cleanliness should urgently be worked on again on site. This review only applies to the store in Gartenstadt. Unfortunately the staff is overwhelmed to make 4 subs (2 people worked there) and that's why we left because, according to the employee, it was a "large order" and couldn't be processed. We then drove to the main train station where a person was working and he served us to our complete satisfaction and !Fast! processed, even though the next ones were already waiting. Unfortunately the last time in Garden City. PS: Don't employees who have a 20cm beard and long hair have to wear a hairnet? I was already feeling sick.

Ordered online, unfortunately not everything was as ordered, which isn't a bad thing. Mistakes happen. However, it should not be common practice to be reprimanded by the male employee after asking a normal question. This employee should complete employee kindness training. :)

People will never go there again!!!!! As soon as the customer turns around, the bread that was on the floor is served to the customers again!!!! expired items are still put up for sale. As well as lettuce, for example, which is already red, is put on the sub which I saw over the counter myself! Customers are shouted at as soon as they don't understand something. Employees and employees are even brought to wine in front of the customers, which is a complete no-go. Customers are being yelled at to pre-order four or more subs, even though they haven't even managed to write it down anywhere, neither in the app nor in the store. Cleanliness is a foreign concept, for all the tables are full of crumbs, the floor is full of sauces and if you look in from the side, things don't look any better at the back!!! and another negative point. A friend of mine urgently needed to go to the toilet. to do another business, let's put it this way, but there was no toilet paper at all.😡

Eating at Subway is always a highlight for us since we don't have one at home. Food was great. Ambiance was also OK, nice that you can sit outside. When we were there it was very full and anyone who can think logically knows that you just have to wait for your food... no problem for us... the staff was very nice to us despite the stress 😊 we'll go back when we are nearby...

We ordered via Uber Eats and the food arrived after half an hour, which is okay in terms of time. When I opened the boxes, this picture appeared and the products were cold. When I called to ask about the quality of the food, I only received the answer that my frustration was understood, but that's just the way it is now... It's a shame we actually liked eating there but not like that anymore.

The food tastes good, unfortunately the shop looks very dirty, the benches outside to sit on are still full of dust and inside there are crumbs everywhere, let alone under the table. Same game on the toilet. I think there has to be time to swing the broom in between.

We spontaneously decided to use Subway and went there. We thought ordering at the terminal could save stressful situations if you are indecisive. After a moment of deliberation, we finally finished and paid for our order. We were abruptly informed that we should “please” pre-order in the future. We were surprised and initially affirmed the statement. Now another customer complained that people never follow the ordering rules and then complain about the waiting time. While we waited patiently (not a long wait), we checked Subway's ordering rules. Since we couldn't find what we were looking for, we asked the colleague who gave us the order. We found that an order of 4 or more subs counts as catering and pre-ordering is recommended. Dear Subway employees - please add such rules in the order area in a legible manner in the future so that such misunderstandings no longer arise. Otherwise great as always - Subway remains one of the favorite stores.

Unfortunately I can only give it one star overall. The food tastes good as always, but unfortunately the new system with the machines doesn't work at all. We had received a voucher in the mail and wanted a SUB of the day, both of which cannot be ordered at the machines, so we were advised to order at the counter. It wasn't a problem for us, but we had to wait half an hour before our order was even taken - it was probably the instructions to give priority to online and terminal orders. Even though they were clearly abandoned after we hired them. The system cannot lead to satisfied customers in the long term. The employees on site really did their best and booked subs on a piecemeal basis. But the system should be reconsidered as quickly as possible, because unfortunately it no longer has anything to do with a fast-food restaurant. Our friend had ordered at the terminal and finished by the time we were able to place our order. PS: if certain cookies/breads etc are no longer available, it's best not to be able to select them on the terminal either.

That was nothing anymore! New concept - doesn't work! No one is standing in line anymore thanks to the touch things, BUT all orders (app, delivery service, on site with touch and on site at the counter) are actually processed one after the other as they are received. That's no surprise given that there's only one production line, but that means there are always 12-20 orders hanging in the air and everyone, really EVERYONE, is annoyed. I feel sorry for the staff because this system just doesn't work and these people try everything. Waiting time: 45 minutes for 3 sandwiches! Not again! Sorry Subway, but I won't be coming back like this.

I don't go to Subway often, but since the automatic ordering machines were introduced, the quality has deteriorated significantly. It takes significantly longer until the sub you ordered is ready because you have to laboriously enter all the individual ingredients into the terminal and then wait. During the waiting time (10 minutes - in an empty restaurant) you are asked to sit down, so you have no control over what is actually being prepared. The bad surprise came at home when I found ingredients on my sub that I didn't order and that I'm allergic to. Almost 10 EUR was thrown out the window because I couldn't eat my sub anymore.

I have to agree with others, this place has gone downhill. I ordered for pickup 20 minutes before the scheduled time. When I got to the store, the display was broken, and there was no information about whether the sandwich was ready or not. I got no information from behind the counter, and one of the employees didn't speak German. My train was leaving soon. I told the German-speaking employee that he didn't need to start my order and should cancel it. Cancellations aren't possible through the app; it only tells you to call the store. I wanted to do that as soon as I got off the train, but I had already picked up the order, 36 km away... yeah, right. So, there was no way to contact the store. If my bank didn't charge for reversing transfers, I would have done that immediately. This was a lesson learned, and I can only advise everyone to avoid going there.
