All in all, a completely overpriced restaurant that I cannot recommend.

We ate at the beach house in the early afternoon and were a bit shocked by the prices. A slice of strawberry cake was €6, with cream €8 total, a cappuccino (medium, rather small cup) was €4.60, a large cup of hot chocolate was €4.90, a smaller dessert was €9.90, and two individual small scoops of ice cream were €5 for our younger child. There was no children's menu. The staff was very attentive and friendly, and the atmosphere was relaxed. Even by international standards (Singapore, London, or elsewhere), these are absolutely top prices in this category. If this is due to the minimum wage, then it will be difficult for cafes to survive. Such prices are a bit "too much" for Markkleeberg, even for high earners. We later ran into other cafe patrons at the fish sandwich stand on the corner. 😁

We got a lukewarm mini coffee and two small scoops of ice cream with whipped cream. The prices are unreasonable. I even told the waitress that the coffee was only lukewarm, but nothing happened. Unfortunately, I don't recommend it.

We were there as part of a group, and the reception was very friendly. We had reserved seats, so we were already registered. The food was disappointing; the salmon with the pasta in my meal certainly came from a deep fryer. It was very hard and dry, and the portion, which cost a whopping €28.40, was significantly too small. The server also seemed increasingly annoyed, even though the restaurant was otherwise empty. Someone wanted to order just an appetizer, which was NOT possible, only with a main course, which I find impossible given the prices and the fact that we were a large group. There was no ice cream either, only to-go... I thought it was a shame, because otherwise the restaurant made a very nice impression, but that couldn't compensate for the poor service for our group.

Highly recommended for its excellent location and friendly service. High prices, a must for steak lovers.

A wonderful place with superb staff!

The location is very good. Right on the lake. Unfortunately, the staff was obviously overwhelmed. We had a reservation. There was no way to put the single flower in water. The affogato – precisely defined (unknown locally until then) – was served with mango sorbet (instead of hazelnut ice cream as expressly stated). A bottle of still water ordered for several guests was served by the waiter directly into the glasses they had chosen... So. Unfortunately. Misunderstandings? Poor service? Overwhelmed? I don't know. An unpleasant feeling. Especially since a large amount of turnover remained for 12 people.

You can do that. A restaurant like many others. Clean and well-maintained, but otherwise just above average.

We had a good seat, a good meal, and a good drink; everything was delicious. The service was excellent. The menus were great. The prices were appropriate for the surroundings; it wasn't a bargain. We were treated to homemade lemonade, a hearty lunch, and dessert. But we felt at home.

The waitress droned on and on. The diesel and shandy weren't mixed - you drink the beer first and then the soda or cola at the end. The price/performance ratio was okay. The restrooms were clean and stylish.

Four of us spontaneously visited the restaurant. Great staff – friendly, quick, and attentive. And that's not standard in Leipzig these days... The food was excellent – compliments to the kitchen. Since our daughter couldn't find anything despite numerous offers, she was given a different dish that wasn't usually offered. That's what service looks like – special thanks for that! And a little tip for the strange reviewers regarding the prices: Look at the menu beforehand, then you know what's on offer and how much it costs... We paid just under €170 plus a €25 tip. I think that's perfectly fine for what's on offer. We'll be back soon.

The food was simply sensational. The passion and skill with which the food is cooked was palpable. I was particularly impressed by the openness to special requests. I had the impression that nothing is considered a "nuisance" here—in fact, they want every guest to feel appreciated. The staff was outstanding: attentive but never intrusive, competent, warm, and with a keen eye for detail. I have rarely experienced service that exudes such joy in their work.

The Strandhaus feels inviting and relaxed. Reservations on weekends are recommended. Luckily, we were able to get a table spontaneously. The service was somewhat inconsistent, ranging from friendly to cynical to rather unfriendly. That was a real shame for our stay. The Spritz drinks were disproportionately expensive and unfortunately not well mixed. The food selection was too unbalanced for my taste, offering either very hearty and plentiful food or appetizers that were expensive. We shared a starter platter, which was truly delicious and left me feeling full. Unfortunately, the prices of the dishes and drinks don't match the quality you'd expect. Given the name Strandhaus, I had imagined a more relaxed menu and moderate prices. The decor and location are very nice. Unfortunately, we had to wait a very long time for everything and had to make a lot of noise to order something. I wouldn't recommend it for a relaxing meal after the lake. There was also a separate, expensive steak menu.

We had reserved a table and were seated. At the time, we didn't realize that we were sitting next to several large trash cans, separated only by a hedge, which ruined our meal, and we left as quickly as we had arrived. The staff was friendly and prompt. The food tasted very good, and we didn't have to wait long. But then, in the immediate vicinity, the trash was loudly emptied, and within a very short time, we were surrounded by several dozen buzzing birds that made eating a torture. When we told the staff, all we got was, "I know, there's nothing I can do!" Not a word of regret, because after all, we paid the same for our meal as other guests who weren't sitting next to the bins and were able to enjoy the evening. That's an absolute imposition and a no-go for us.

For us, the Strandhaus Markkleeberg is a wonderful place to feel good. Despite the increasing number of guests, the service remains polite, attentive, and courteous – you feel truly welcome and well looked after. The cuisine impresses with its outstanding quality: The steaks are perfectly prepared, juicy, and full of flavor, and the loving craftsmanship makes every bite a delight. The Pappardelle al Pesto was simply delicious! The pasta had the perfect consistency, and the pesto was wonderfully aromatic. The portion was just right – not too much, not too little. A true taste experience that we can recommend to everyone. We're already looking forward to our next visit! 😊✨

We were at the Strandhaus again yesterday. The ambiance and the food are simply fantastic, but above all, the friendly staff make our visit to the Strandhaus a wonderful experience. Hardly any vegetarian/vegan alternatives for coffee - or are there any vegan dishes with, for example, Parmesan cheese? The ice cream was almost all gone. Not particularly tasty for the price. The service was unfriendly, especially when asking if there were alternatives to the aforementioned plant-based milk. Before you could ask, you were interrupted with "No, there aren't!" and told that it was not permitted by management. Then, when you brought your own drink, you were refused. Orders were delayed, one drink was incorrect, and you couldn't get a new one because the ice cream had suddenly run out. There was no apology. Not worth a (second) visit.

Yes, a very beautiful place. I went swimming there with my child. Lots of people and the weather was nice 🙈... There's a great snack bar up there with delicious shell-shaped rolls, fried fish, or wieners. The ice cream stand is also recommended.

Wir waren als Paar und wollten zum runden Geburtstag einen schönen Abend genießen. Leider ist man auf Kundenwünsche nicht eingegangen und hat sich noch lustig über diese geäußert. Ein äußerst arrogantes Verhalten von der Bedienung im einzigen weißen Shirt. Wir würden es weder jemandem empfehlen noch selbst noch einmal hingehen. Da scheint nur die Bedienung König zu sein. Kundenservice gleich Null. Sehr schade.

Never again! It's a shame you can't give negative points – this pub definitely deserves them. We had reserved a table for 5:30 p.m. But even 45 minutes later, none of the staff had attended to us. All the other tables were served – only we were consistently ignored. Our complaint was also met with complete indifference: not a word of regret, not an apology. Conclusion: Absolutely disappointing. Anyone who values ​​hospitality should avoid this place. Here, guests are clearly just a chore.

About the food: While the service and ambiance were consistently impressive, the culinary offerings unfortunately couldn't keep up – at least not in relation to the price level. Throughout the evening, I wondered what the rather high prices were due to – the ambiance or the quality of the food? Unfortunately, I have to say that the dishes didn't impress me in terms of taste. My expectations were high given the pricing – and in my opinion, they weren't met. The meat dishes appealed to some members of the group, but they also shared the opinion that the value for money wasn't quite right. Overall, it was still a lovely evening, which we thoroughly enjoyed. The bill came to just under €300 for three starters and six main courses, plus drinks. I'd gladly return for a relaxing after-work drink with a view of the lake – but not for a meal.

The restaurant is right on the lake, at the dock for the tour boat. Shade is provided everywhere. The food is okay, but also very expensive. We paid €75 for two slices of cake, a coffee, three house sodas, and two small appetizers (prawns, tomato soup). I don't think that's reasonable value for money. There were a lot of servers there, even though the tables were fairly small. And yet we still had to wait a long time for our bill. Despite some minor hesitation, the servers were friendly. We didn't try the steaks. The meat is certainly of good quality, but it's still too expensive. This restaurant thrives on tourism and people who want to treat themselves to something. I probably won't go there again. Aside from the lake view, there are other restaurants with the same or even better quality at cheaper prices.

I had lunch there for a special birthday and an invitation. The prices are very high. The salad with grilled salmon in my photo is listed on the menu at €22.90. If you want to enjoy a good meal in a beautiful setting by Lake Markkleeberg, this is the place for a special occasion. We sat outside despite the chilly weather. Each guest had a blanket on their chair. The service was also very friendly, and despite being very busy, they took the time to take a photo of the guests.

A great, but expensive, location directly on Lake Markkleeberg. A restaurant that aims to cater to the more affluent segment of society. Mediterranean cuisine with a local twist (including a tasty horse sausage made from a local recipe), delicious and creatively presented dishes.

We were there with 8 people. Everyone was very happy with the food. The service was friendly, attentive and accommodating. The ambience is very appealing and the beautiful view of the lake as the sun sets is beautiful. All around good and recommended!

Very nice staff and very nice facility. Unfortunately the prices don't match the quality of the food. This was ok, but it didn't match the high prices. A tip from me: a normal menu is more appropriate than printing the menu on the placemat, which looks like a snack bar anyway.

We actually just wanted to have a coffee. This is how the best relationships usually begin😄 Then we left this restaurant full and satisfied. The quality of the food is really great. The staff very nice. Even the boss helps. You can feel the joy at work. In addition to what we had, excellent tomato soup, a starter platter "let yourself be surprised" with mussels, antipasti, olives... and and and, for dessert I had creme brulee. Everything was super tasty. We ordered straight away for May. Then steaks are tried and some wine. I think this won't be our last visit either. See you again.

Nice cozy restaurant with a view of Lake Markkleberger. Great ambience and super delicious food. But also very expensive. Steaks cost between €50-150 and everything else was a hefty price. But we were quite dissatisfied with the service. The service wasn't bad in general, but they just didn't have enough staff for the amount of tables. 2 in the kitchen and 2.5 in the front. We were a reserved group of 11 people and more than half an hour passed before our drinks requests were taken into account. We arrived at 6:30 p.m. By 7:15 p.m. everyone had been able to give up their drink requests. At 8 p.m. everyone had their drinks and at 8:30 p.m. we got our food. Quality costs and takes time, but waiting almost 1.5-2 hours for your food was really tough. Our starters also only came after 1.25/1.5 hours and then a lot of mistakes were made. I paid €55 for a gin and tonic, bread, a little water and some pasta. Everything was very tasty but the price was high

I've experienced better service. Very unfortunate. You should wait until you are shown to your seat. We probably stood for 20 minutes and were looked at three or four times during that time without being spoken to, like a little moment please or something that made you feel seen. Then you got your seat and waited another twenty minutes until you could order something, which you had to make yourself aware of and then you were allowed to wait because the payment was being made first. The place has a nice atmosphere. The cake was very tasty, but slightly overpriced. Unless you pay for the view?! It was very beautiful. What was slightly annoying was the sometimes unpleasant smell that couldn't be interpreted.

We had a very good meal in this restaurant. The food is a little more expensive than usual, but the quality is very high, so I found this to be appropriate. The location is great, the view is very nice! The service was friendly. There is a star deduction for the incompletely set table and the incomplete selection of drinks (non-alcoholic). Our food came, but we still had no cutlery or napkins at the table. You couldn't order Cola/Cola Zero because it was out of stock. I would happily recommend the restaurant and would come back if I was in the area again!

Can I recommend the beach house? A clear yes! Delicious food, drank a mulled wine outside afterwards, and all with very good service. And yes, the price is higher than at the kebab stand, but if you want to eat and drink well in a nice atmosphere, you're in good hands here.

Went to the beach house for lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and were not disappointed! Fine food (ox cheeks, salmon, chicken) various side dishes always freshly prepared and, above all, always hot. If you want to have a good time, eat good food and drink in a pleasant atmosphere - go there, it's worth it. Thanks to the team!

We were there on a Sunday lunchtime, it's not possible to order from the menu, so we ordered the lunch buffet for €45 (including drinks). The selection is small and the taste is ok. The service was very nice, except for the boss, who loudly snatched the tiramisu out of my hand. It wasn't obvious to us that only two of the desserts on display in the self-service refrigerator were part of the buffet. There was no sign pointing this out, but I still felt like I was doing something audacious. For €45 per person, I would have expected something different here - both in terms of the food and the treatment.

Stopped in here on a beautiful sunny afternoon. We talked to the waitress about what we wanted as soon as we entered the terrace (coffee and cake). She wants to bring the card so we can order. After 15 minutes still no card. Even after a friendly reminder, waited another 5 minutes. It was not possible to order in the restaurant. You would get confused with the existing orders. OK.??? Then the excitement. Now tables were served that had only arrived 20 minutes after us. After another few minutes we left in frustration. The waitress certainly has sovereignty. She can organize her own conditions. But you shouldn't lose sight of your guests.

Friday 5:05 p.m. - The entire restaurant is empty except for a couple. Apparently individuals are not welcome, as they wanted to sit me in the corner at a table for two, even though I wanted to enjoy my coffee and cake at a table for four with a view of the sunset. Canceled my order and went back. Update: I wasn't offered multiple tables, but was assigned a table. I definitely wouldn't have been able to see the sunset from this one. Yes, I wanted to take a photo for myself, but I'm neither well-known nor an influencer. Furthermore, I just wanted to enjoy a quick piece of cake and would have left after 30 minutes. I also mentioned this. So I probably wouldn't have disturbed the evening business. I also don't remember there being a "Reserved" sign on any of the tables.

Ate very well. The service staff is very friendly. We had the steak platter from the Valentine's Day menu and it was very tasty. But a friendly tip: if the plates were warm and the steak plate was on a warming plate, you wouldn't have to eat cold meat at the end.

Everything was great except for the boss! If you have a Christmas brunch for 13 people and p.p. Paid a flat rate for drinks of 10€ and then 10 minutes before the end of the day you don't even get a beer from the boss (according to the boss the most expensive drinks), that's very outrageous... Unfortunately never again! We didn't order the drinks 10 minutes before the end of the offer period!!! If you had looked at your reservation, you would have noticed that orders for 7 people took 2.5 hours instead of 2 hours. So we didn't get anything to drink 40 minutes before our reservation expired!!!

In my opinion, the price/performance ratio is not justified. There were three of us, but we didn't get our food to the table at the same time...everyone got theirs a few minutes apart...by then the food was no longer hot enough, but lukewarm. My steak tasted bitter. I also noticed this when the waiter asked. I thought, based on his lack of reaction, that this is what it must taste like. I mixed my steak with my side dishes to mask the bitter taste that I didn't like. As I was clearing away the waiter made an appreciative comment because I had finished my plate. However, I don't want to come here to eat again. I really don't particularly like a bitter steak. One positive thing was that the wine tasted delicious. We were served very friendly and benevolently.

Hervorragend! Wir hatten das grosse Vergnügen, schon mehrmals dort zu speisen. Schon beim Betreten des Restaurants spürt man die einladende Atmosphäre. Wurden auch gleich vom Chef persönlich begrüßt. Das Ambiente ist stilvoll. Der Service war erstklassig. Das Essen war das absolute Highlight. Preise für die Qualität der Speisen absolut gerechtfertigt. Lieblings Restaurant ❤️.

We visited this restaurant in Markleeberg today. To start with, we had a very nice evening. The staff and the owner are very courteous and attentive. People regularly asked if everything was OK. The location and ambience speak for themselves. The food was very tasty but also expensive. But if you're willing to pay for a well-fried steak, this is the place for you. Every steak lover will find the perfect steak here. Of course the woman had tagliatelle with pesto and fried salmon. The pasta was very thick due to its thickness and the salmon was a bit too bland for my personal taste but the pesto was very well done. The desserts scored very highly again. The highlight was really the cream puffs. A clear 10/10. Our daughter really liked it too and the children's menu was perfect.

Always a good idea to come here

We went to the gourmet lunch buffet on Boxing Day. It was a high quality and varied menu. Something different in a Mediterranean way. Very, very tasty and plentiful until the end. The kitchen demonstrated its skills masterfully and the service was excellent. We will definitely come back. A great THANK YOU again to the team at the beach house.

Nice quiet restaurant with a view of the lake from the promenade to the arrival and departure of larger and smaller ships. Cozy atmosphere with well placed seating… Friendly staff and good selection of food and drinks. Lots of fresh ingredients. At its best. We have been here several times and can only recommend it.

Yesterday we had lunch at the "Beach House". Absolutely “upscale”-suspicious. Visually and tastefully at a very high level. The direct view of Lake Markkleeberger rounds off the 5-star ambience. The service also left nothing to be desired. Very nice and accommodating. Thanks for that. You don't find it that often these days.

Restaurant with a holiday feeling, on the promenade at Lake Markleeberger. We ended the day there after a bike ride. We were lucky to get a table for two on the terrace. The map is not large, but very versatile. The dishes are very tasty and tastefully prepared. The service was very nice and quick. This restaurant is a good choice.

I can't say anything more than "simply great".

My partner and I visited the restaurant for a drink after a trip. We sat outside and asked the waitress if card payment was possible since we didn't have any cash with us. We were told that card payments were only possible from 30 euros. To get to this amount, we also ordered something to eat. The food was really good and the prices were completely reasonable. We loved it and definitely planned to come back. When I actually wanted to write a positive review today, we noticed in the other reviews that the owner responded to a review about a month ago that any amount can be paid by card and there is no longer a minimum amount. This means that the service person lied directly to our faces and intentionally deceived us. We understand that every business needs to make money, but to deliberately deceive guests in this way is unprofessional, dishonest and simply shameful. We feel betrayed and such behavior, especially in the catering industry, is absolutely unacceptable. Because of this experience, we decided to avoid the restaurant in the future - even if we were impressed by the food. Anyone who deliberately lies to their guests has lost our respect and trust.

We just stopped in for a coffee. The location is really great! Unfortunately, some of the staff were very unfriendly and gave us rather snippy answers to our questions. Too bad! In addition, card payment was not possible (which was told to us without any explanation and again snippily), even though it was written on the door that cashless payments were possible. This was already criticized in a review from another guest about a month ago, to which the restaurant replied that card payments were now possible for any amount - that doesn't seem to be the case.
