Stiefbrüder in Düren

Waiting for breakfast for an hour and the shop was empty?! The 6 of us each ordered a loaf of bread. Is the bread freshly baked? The music is so loud that you have to shout at each other. Can't tackle. Food was ok, but for 2 adults and 2 children for breakfast it was €95 + tip. That's pretty expensive by Düren standards.

The food was okay, but nothing outstanding. We were there in the evening during the week and the noise was far too loud. Unfortunately, the service employee was alone when the store was fully booked, which led to longer waiting times for payment and drinks service.

We weren't that enthusiastic. We had a choice between 2 dishes. Water brought which was not ordered. Wrong dressing for the salad. Bread toasted too long. It was way too hard. Later we sat inside because there were too many bees. Music in there too loud.and toilet could use more affection too.

You would think that someone runs a restaurant to entertain their guests. Here is an example where the guest is simply ignored and therefore treated poorly. The table was reserved for the birthday... but we still had to wait 1:45 hours for our food (ordinary burgers and schnitzels). Sure, if the Uber driver was served beforehand and there weren't enough staff. The food came at a delay, so one person was ready when the next person got their food. When asked about the loud music, the waitress told me that it was so loud so that the guests outside could hear it. The owner sat at a table with friends that evening and celebrated happily. I hope that shops like this go to the school of decency and question their business purpose. We're never going back here.

Even after kindly asking to turn the music down a little, it remained loud, exciting reasoning: in order for the guests outside to hear some of the music, it has to be so loud inside that it's hardly possible to have a conversation 🥳 -Very long waiting time, no explanation or even apologies - Order is not carried out quite correctly, wrong food, sauces on fries after they were almost eaten, no or threadbare explanation - Someone here probably has an interesting approach to dealing with guests

The food is delicious but that's the only reason for the second star. We had a table for 5 people at 6:15pm on a Thursday. The order was placed at 6:25 p.m. We then ate at 7:55 p.m. To be fair, we had a starter salad for 5 people, but it only came after 40 minutes. Then an HOUR later the main course arrived. As I said, on a Thursday with not even half capacity. The interior was almost completely unoccupied. Two identical drinks were ordered, which couldn't be more different. Different color, different taste, different side dishes. Zero consistency. But the killer remains the really outrageous waiting time. The prices are just okay for the quality, but they're also a disgrace for the experience

We were here for breakfast on a Saturday morning. We still got a comfortable seat without a reservation. We found the selection for breakfast excellent. Something really different. The “normal” breakfast platters like the ones you would get at the bakery also looked much prettier and more appetizing than you would expect. A small note: we found the plates very small. Although it looked beautifully presented this way, it was quite difficult to eat, as there was little room for cutting and such. We will definitely come back again.

Beautiful and stylishly modern café in the center of Düren, where I was able to work with my notebook (and free, stable WiFi) without any problems. The staff was very friendly and uncomplicated.

We have rarely eaten so well, schnitzel and hamburgers were top notch. The service class keeps it up and you have a new regular guest. I will definitely recommend you.

The food is very tasty and there are original dishes that you can't get on every corner. Unfortunately the service was very slow and quite disorganized. Of the various dishes for four people, only two initially came without cutlery. Before the other plates were brought, the waitress served other tables. The next dishes came incomplete in places, so the group couldn't eat together, otherwise the first dishes would have already been cold. The schnitzels were served on top of the fries, which made cutting very difficult. What was particularly unfortunate was that the kitchen closed at 8:30 p.m. on a Saturday evening, so we could no longer order Dressert, which we had already indicated at the beginning of our visit. It would have been nice to be informed shortly before the kitchen closed that we could quickly order dessert. Some new visitors left the restaurant because they couldn't get any more food.

Great coffee in a central location for any time of day. Everyone will find something for themselves here! Food and drinks are available at normal prices. I'd love to come back!

Too loud !!! Tables overloaded with unusable items. Food cold. Not a good choice. Won't go there again. Too bad!!!!

We were there for the first time. Table was booked online. Everything went well. We found the acoustics to be too loud and uncomfortable. The food can be quick and was okay. The portions were large for us. The menu contains no stakes and no fish. Probably won't be our first choice. But you can have a good meal there, ideally in summer when the doors are open or if you sit completely outside.

Great place! The food is delicious, the atmosphere is great, the terrace is cozy and pleasantly shady. - With the water you also get a glass of crushed ice, which I found very good. It's also nice that the soft drinks come in small gas bottles and are not filled from a larger container. - The tomato salad with burrata mozzarella was really great, with different types of tomatoes, fresh herbs and very nicely seasoned. There was also super fluffy bread. - The fries came with really tasty and mild sour cream. You can tell that it was freshly made. - The schnitzel with the hollandaise was also great and the portion was generous. - Also recommended is the iced latte, which is not too sweet. Delicious. We are very satisfied and will come back when the opportunity arises.

A great little shop where we really enjoy having breakfast. At first we were very sad that Beef&Bread no longer exists, but instead of a great burger in the evening we just come here for a great breakfast. Keep it up.

Not recommendable. I arranged to meet my two girls there for breakfast. After we were seated, we were asked for drinks, which came after 10 minutes. Unfortunately, breakfast took a full hour and 12 minutes to arrive:-( plus things that were missing when asked It wasn't until 20 minutes later that our coffee was empty after waiting for over an hour, but no waiter had time to take a new order. At lunchtime we were finally able to go to the other restaurant for lunch. not attentive, cold food...We won't be back.

Apparently having a bad day today: - Drinks arrived 30 minutes after the starter - Food after more than an hour and was cold. But it was resubmitted without objection (unfortunately almost cold again). - No apologies, no questions about taste or anything else. Overall: Staff seemed disinterested and the quality/taste wasn't up to par. Ambience was quite ok. Won't come back.

I reserved a table there because of the relatively good reviews. When I entered the restaurant for the first time, I knew I couldn't have a nice evening there. People sit there crammed together like caged chickens. No possibility to communicate privately because the neighbor is basically sitting at the table. We left the restaurant immediately, so no rating for the food and only for the so-called ambience.

Very, very tasty breakfast at very fair prices. I had the vegetarian breakfast. This was prepared with a lot of love. There was a lot of different cold cuts. The portion was decent. :) We were all very excited.

When I read one or two reviews here I can only shake my head. I think most of the negative reviews here come from people who only eat frozen food at home and simply can't cope with fresh products and who are probably already wandering around their home kitchens with completely destroyed taste receptors thanks to glutamate and the like. I can't understand why the service here is bad either. When I read how the texts regarding service are formulated here, I just say.... How to call into the forest.... And no, you don't have to put up with everything in service. Now to my actual review. 5 people ate very well, everything was to their complete satisfaction. Food was prepared in a reasonable time, it was neither over-seasoned nor did it need to be seasoned. The ambience was pleasant right down to the food served. The very good occupancy in the middle of the week also shows the actual quality of the offer. To the low raters here I recommend the locally known fast food temples, possibly the low performer stalls in the industrial area, they have the standard you are used to at home and eat 2kg (Fr) including glutamate etc. for 4.99 in all you can eat. Your principle seems to be much for nothing.

We were there for breakfast and were very impressed. The dishes were beautifully prepared and the quality and freshness were simply great. The menu isn't very big, but I think that's what's really good. The background noise is very loud, but that doesn't bother me personally.

A nice restaurant, we received a friendly welcome and ordered two mushroom cream schnitzels for us. What was presented as schnitzel were 5mm thick slices of dry meat. We ate them and told the boss who said I'd let the kitchen know. This was the first. And the last time I came there.

The food was ok, but based on some pictures I imagined it to be different. For example, the dishes arrived naked on the plate, burgers on a dessert plate with hardly any sauce and zero decoration. Same with cauliflower. That could be nicer.

Oh, that was awesome there. First of all, a great atmosphere when you enter the restaurant. Really nicely decorated, great music and we received a really friendly welcome. Then we ordered a really delicious mango Ipanema. We ordered various dishes (see pictures). The food was simply delicious. We'd love to come back!

Essen ist immer super lecker. Egal ob man von der Wochenkarte oder normalen Karte bestellt. Ich komme regelmäßig ins Stiefbrüder.

We were the first guests in the evening. The ambience is generally nice, but as soon as you walked in the music was very loud and twice as the kitchen also heard music, but different music. At our request, the kitchen turned off the music. Our request to make the music quieter overall was not complied with; that was “not allowed”. We could happily sit at another table where the box wasn't hanging directly above it. We did that, but it wasn't much more pleasant. Surprising when you consider that, even with the good reviews, the music is always criticized for being too loud. We wanted to wait until another person arrived to eat, but we wanted something to snack on beforehand. When we were able to make ourselves known, we ordered potato wedges and fries. After 20 minutes we were informed that there were no potato wedges as the potatoes were out. Okay, then we'll just have the fries. Another 15 minutes later, 2 portions of fries arrived. Why 2 portions - well, we had ordered potato wedges and fries and since the potato wedges were out, we thought... wrong, the second portion was returned. A person accidentally ordered an Aperol Spritz when it was supposed to be a Campari Spritz. No matter, the Aperol was kept and the Campari was supposed to be added. The answer was “We don’t have Campari”. But it's on the map. No we have not! When the waitress looked at the menu and asked, another person came and told us that Campari was out. The Aperol was also an outrage, it was colored water. One person previously had a Lillet Wild Berry. Instead of berries there were two slices of lemon in the drink - the berries were probably gone! We then stopped waiting for the missing person, instead we paid and changed restaurants to eat. Seemed safer to us, although the menu reads well As mentioned above, we were the first guests in the evening. After the lunch business, they probably neglected to clean the floor under the tables - true to the motto "you can eat from the floor here, there's enough lying around". Cleanliness is also always a point of criticism, even with good ratings. Things going out can happen, dealing with it is another matter. The fact that frequently expressed criticism such as music that is too loud or a lack of cleanliness is apparently simply ignored does not mean that you take your customers seriously.

Delicious breakfast with a variety of egg dishes. Quite expensive and unfortunately totally overcrowded (on Saturday morning) and very noisy with the large number of small children being dragged along to breakfast. Accordingly, the service couldn't keep up and it took 50 minutes for breakfast to arrive after the drinks were delivered. It's a shame, it could definitely be better.

Very pleasant atmosphere for Düren standards and the food is also delicious. The only thing that bothers me is the music being too loud.

We have rarely eaten as deliciously as we did here with the stepbrothers. The carrot dish and the eggplant dish were freshly prepared and extremely tasty 😋. Then came the cheeseburger and the schnitzel with champion cream sauce - both were absolutely amazing! My compliments to the three chefs. You know your craft very well 👍. But also many thanks to the friendly and attentive service staff! They are very good hostesses! Thank you for the lovely evening 🙏

Erstes und letztes mal!!! uns wurde gefühlt ein rohes Hühnchen zwischen zwei Burgerbrötchen gepackt. Als wir darauf aufmerksam machten wurde direkt drauf hingewiesen das es kein Geld zurück gibt. Kulanz wurde durch neuanfertigung des Burgers angeboten, aber auf dieses Endprodukt kann und sollte man zu 100% verzichten.Der Laden ist seinen Preis nicht wert.

Sehr schön, freundlicher und aufmerksamer Service, sehr leckeres Essen, einziges Manko: zu laute und unpassende Musik. Ansonsten alles top.

Tolles Frühstück, unheimlich lecker, außergewöhnlich freundlich und tolles Ambiente. Frühstück ist immer leicht abgeändert. Das Brot ist meist warm. Sehr zu empfehlen.

Wir waren zum Frühstück dort und fanden die Speisekarte schon sehr ansprechend. Und das Frühstück hielt, was die Speisekarte verspricht. Super lecker war vor allem das Egg Benedict mit Lachs und Kaviar. Und zudem moderate Preise mit Top Leistung. Wir kommen wieder. PS: unser Hund bekam sogar ein Kissen, auf das er sich legen konnte 😀

Schöner kleiner Laden mit kreativen und frischen Gerichten. Ob morgens oder Abends immer eine gute Wahl. Lediglich der Service könne noch etwas freundlicher sein.

Das Essen ist lecker und auch eine echte Bereicherung für Düren, aber die Bedienung war leider nicht besonders interessiert an uns und schien etwas überfordert. Außerdem finde ich die Musik viel zu laut für mitten am Tag.

Gestern habe ich das zweite Mal die Stiefbrüder besucht. Der Service nahm uns jeweils direkt und freundlich in Empfang. Bestellung kam beim zweiten Besuch deutlich schneller an, als beim ersten mal. Bei den Burgern passen Saucen, Fleisch und Buns super zusammen, auch die Pommes können was. Außerdem bringt man Salat mit auf den Teller, von guter Qualität, aber fast komplett ohne Dressing, was den bitteren Salat nicht sehr schmackhaft macht. Der Laden ist warm und gemütlich eingerichtet, gefällt sehr. Klare Empfehlung.

Eigentlich würde ich sagen bester Burger der Stadt, aber mein letzter Burger war leider noch leicht roh statt medium. Aber wenn das nicht der Fall ist bester Burger der Stadt...

Wir waren gestern Abend dort Essen. Die Bestellungen wurden zügig geliefert und das Essen war geschmacklich in Ordnung. Allerdings war das Essen (z. B. die Pilze) für unseren Geschmack sehr stark gewürzt und zum Teil auch sehr salzig. Kurze Zeit später nach unserem Besuch hatten wir unabhängig voneinander beide Durchfall und Erbrechen. Sehr merkwürdig. Wir werden nicht nochmal kommen.

Wir waren das erste mal hier. Und man kennt es, der erste Eindruck zählt. Beim Bananenweizen meiner Frau war der Bananensaft schlecht, was wirklich passieren kann.... schwamm drüber. Dann haben wir Burger bestellt, einmal ohne Zwiebeln, da eine schwere Allergie gegen die besteht. Aber leider wurde der auch mit Zwiebeln geliefert. Schad eig. Das Essen sonst war sehr lecker.

Bananenweizen leider obergärig. Nicht genießbar. Burger explizit ohne Zwiebeln bestellt, kam leider mit Zwiebeln. Ich hätte noch Verständnis gehabt wenn die Hütte gebrannt hätte. Es waren aber nur 3 Tische besetzt. Die Bedienung sehr nett. Leider kein zweites Mal.

Ambiente gut und da hört es auch schon auf. Der Service ist leider nicht sonderlich zuvorkommend, wir mussten irgendwann mit Handzeichen auf uns aufmerksam machen weil sich keiner verantwortlich gefühlt hat. Beim Essen ging es weiter… Dressing wurde beim Salat vergessen und das so genannte Krabbensandwich im Brioche war nicht gut und lieblos angerichtet 👎

Ein perfekter Start in den Tag! Die Atmosphäre ist freundlich und einladend, das Personal ist super aufmerksam und zuvorkommend. Das Frühstück war einfach fantastisch. Die Auswahl auf der Speisekarte ist vielfältig und es ist für jeden Geschmack etwas dabei. Frische Zutaten, liebevoll zubereitet und einfach köstlich. Ich kann diesen Frühstücksladen nur wärmstens empfehlen. Egal, ob man alleine kommt, mit Freunden oder der Familie – hier wird man definitiv verwöhnt. Ich freue mich schon auf meinen nächsten Besuch aus Hamburg bei euch🫶🏼!

Ich habe 2 Stullen gegessen ! Einmal Avocado mit ei und einmal mit Lachs ! Das Essen ist sensationell

Obwohl das Essen lecker war, kann ich meinem Empfinden nach keine Empfehlung für das Lokal aussprechen. Wir haben uns auf ein schönes Frühstück gefreut und waren am heutigen Sonntag die ersten Gäste. Das Lokal ist sehr schön und modern eingerichtet, was jedoch von der mangelnden Sauberkeit überschattet wird. Der gesamte Boden war übersehen mit Essensresten, welche vermutlich vom Vorabend stammen. Es ist schade, dass man die Chance verpasst vor Ladenöffnung einfach zu kehren. Dies ist auch keine Übertreibung, egal wo man hingeguckt hat, lagen Essensreste auf dem Boden. Ein wenig enttäuschend war auch die Wartezeit, da wir unser Frühstück erst rund 50 Minuten nach Bestellung erhielten. An dieser Stelle nochmal der Hinweis: wir waren die ersten Gäste im Lokal. Vor dem Bestellen wurden wir darauf hingewiesen, dass kein Kaviar vorhanden sei, dennoch entschied ich mich bewusst für ein Gericht, in welchem normalerweise Kaviar verarbeitet wird und wies die Kellnerin darauf hin, dass man dies ja im Preis verrechnen könne. Dies wurde leider nicht beherzigt und man berechnete den vollen Preis des Gerichts. Daher nur 4 Sterne für das Essen. Es erschien auch der Eindruck, dass zu wenig Personal eingesetzt wurde. Das Lokal war sehr gut besucht und es waren lediglich zwei Kellner tätig. Diese kamen mit dem Andrang leider nicht zurecht.

Wir haben leider keine guten Erfahrungen in dem Restaurant gemacht! Wir waren dort Abends essen. Das Personal war unterbesetzt, dadurch gestresst und leider auch unfreundlich. Das Ambiente ist schön, die Getränke lecker. Auf unser Essen mussten wir fast 2 Stunden warten... Das Essen war geschmacklich ganz lecker, jedoch war in dem einen Salat noch ein Stück Plastik enthalten. Sie kamen uns daraufhin preislich entgegen. Leider ging es den Leuten, die den Salat mit Hühnchen gegessen haben die nächsten Tage nicht gut. Wir können das Restaurant von unserer Seite aus leider nicht weiterempfehlen und kommen auch nicht mehr wieder. Schade

Waren gestern dort zum Abendessen. Habe noch nie so einen liebevoll angerichteten Salat bekommen, sehr sehr lecker und alle Portionen wirklich toll angerichtet und echt groß!!

Ehemals Beef and Bread. Haben das neue Lokal das erste mal getestet und wurden nicht enttäuscht. Lecker, frisch und sehr schön angerichtet. Wir kommen wieder.

Die Frühstücksauswahl ist ok, jedoch fast alles mit Ei (sehr schade). Nichtsdestotrotz war das belegte Brot sehr lecker, ebenso die Pancakes. P.s: Entkoffeinierter Kaffee wäre noch super!

Meiner Meinung nach das Beste Frühstück in Düren !!! Das Ambiente ist super und das Team super freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Frühstück ist einfach nur ein Traum & es ist für jeden etwas dabei (besonders die Marmelade ist super lecker) Ich werde Stiefbrüder auf jeden Fall weiter empfehlen und wieder kommen !!

Katastrophaler Service. Nach 20 Minuten waren die Getränke immer noch nicht da. Völlig überforderte Mitarbeiter. Essen war überhaupt nix besonderes und nicht besonders lecker, Fertigsoßen. Die Kissen der Stühle waren nass. Alles in allem keine Empfehlung

Wir waren gestern dort essen. Grundsätzlich gutes Essen. Nichts besonderes aber man gibt sich Mühe. Qualität des Essens sehr gut. Wenig Auswahl, aber das liegt eher daran, dass es nicht hauptsächlich gedacht ist dort abend zu essen. Leider war es so, dass der Service nicht so gut war, dies lag mit Sicherheit daran, dass man nicht mit der Anzahl der Gäste gerechnet hat, was man aber ein besser hätte planen können. Leider war es auch so, dass wir draußen nicht mehr bedient wurden, sondern u s die Getränke holen mussten, was aber aufgrund der Anzahl der Gäste und zu wenig Gläser sich sehr problematisch gestaltete, sodass wir mehr oder weniger gezwungen waren, in ein anderes Lokal zu gehen. Wenn man dies noch besser plant und organisiert, wird es ein super Lokal. Alles in allem hatten wir trotzdem einen schönen Abend. Es soll nur mehr eine konstruktive und keine negative Kritik sein.

Wer Beef & Bread mochte, sollte unbedingt auch mal die Stiefbrüder ausprobieren. Mein Highlight ist das Frühstück welches einige kreative Meisterwerke beinhaltet. Mein Favorit: Der stramme Eddy! 😋 Das Ambiente ist modern und gleichzeitig gemütlich. Das Personal ist immer freundlich und gut gelaunt. Natürlich ist es schade, dass die hervorragenden Burger von Beef & Bread nicht mehr angeboten werden aber dafür gibt es ganz viele andere Highlights wofür es sich in jedem Fall lohnt vorbeizukommen!!

Ich werde es sicherlich noch mal testen, weil alle so begeistert vom Frühstück sind. Aber jetzt muss ich von dem ausgehen, was ich erlebt habe und der Flammkuchen war der schäbigste und liebloseste Flammkuchen, den ich in meinem Leben gesehen habe. Ohne Witz! Dafür würde ich nie wieder Geld ausgeben. Leider hatte ich kein Handy dabei, sonst hätte ich ein Foto gemacht. Aber da müsst ihr definitiv nachbessern Leute. EDIT: ich habe mir jetzt mal hier die Fotos angeschaut. Offensichtlich sieht der Flammkuchen normalerweise anders aus. Vielleicht jemand neu in der Küche? Dann frage ich mich, wieso die Servicekraft das nicht bemerkt und den überhaupt rausgegeben hat. Man hat für einen ersten Eindruck immer nur eine Chance. Und die habt ihr bei mir vergeigt.
