Steckler's Rheinrestaurant in Oppenheim

We celebrated our silver wedding anniversary with 40 guests at the Rheinrestaurant and were completely satisfied. The buffet was plentiful, varied, and delicious. We would especially like to commend the entire team who took perfect care of us around the clock. Many thanks to the whole team for everything that made this celebration so wonderful.

We discussed the various components of the meal in detail beforehand, and a lavish buffet was prepared, offering something for everyone. With aperitifs, starters, main courses, desserts, and a midnight snack, there was something to suit every taste. The staff was incredibly attentive and did everything they could to ensure the guests had a wonderful evening. Thank you so much!

A really decent restaurant in a beautiful location right on the Rhine. The terrace is fantastic in the summer. The food is delicious and offers excellent value for money. The drive there in the dark is a bit adventurous, but not a problem. The location is highly recommended.

I wanted to redeem a voucher that was issued with no time limit and no date of issue. Unfortunately, the owner refused to accept it, even though the error was clearly evident. Even after pointing out the lack of a time limit, the owner showed no understanding or willingness to accommodate. Very disappointing – in my opinion, this is not how you treat customers who come in reliance on promised services. The voucher was valid for the Nieder-Olm and Oppenheim locations. Without the purchase date and validity period, it's impossible for the customer to determine when the voucher should be redeemed.

Discovered by chance, but I was blown away! Highly recommended; it's a great place to spend an evening, hold a company dinner, or simply enjoy a romantic evening for two. Make sure to make a reservation in advance! The welcome was very warm, and we were shown directly to our table without having to wait. This restaurant pays great attention to ambiance: Especially in the evening, warm lights illuminate both the interior and exterior, creating a wonderful atmosphere. The menu is very extensive, and the value for money is excellent. The restaurant is even suitable for vegans. (The burgers, for example, are all available in vegan versions!) The staff is really friendly and concerned about guest satisfaction. The food arrived very quickly, with no long waits. We waited a maximum of 10 minutes for our food, if that. The quality of the food is fantastic. We haven't had food this good in a long time. (Large portions, but you can also order takeaway if you can't make it!) We're very impressed and have chosen this place as our regular spot. We'll be happy to come back!

I had a super delicious cheeseburger with a really good wine. The service was incredibly friendly and attentive – I immediately felt at home. And the atmosphere with the view of the Rhine was simply fantastic! I would definitely recommend it 100%.

I rarely write reviews, but today I'm taking the time to do so. We went there for breakfast today. We were so impressed. It was absolutely delicious, but above all, I want to praise the service. We've rarely been served so warmly and warmly. A huge thank you again to the lovely waitress with the long blonde hair and the tattoo on the back of her neck. I really wanted to ask her name... but unfortunately, I forgot. She really made our day. We'll definitely be back. Many thanks to the whole team. Keep up the great work.

We loved our breakfast meals. I had the American breakfast and my husband had the Farmers breakfast. We also got a bread basket with delicious bread and rolls. Our waitress was so lovely and accommodating. My husband added a few items to his meal. And after she heard we were celebrating his birthday, she offered us a glass of Sekt. She was really attentive and kept checking on us to see if we needed anything else. Highly recommend visiting Steckler's for a meal! Beautiful view was such a bonus too.

We went there as a family. The atmosphere is really lovely. I ordered the vegan tarte flambée, and unfortunately, parts of it were still very raw and soggy. Unfortunately, service was extremely infrequent at our table that evening. Perhaps it would be better when it's not quite as busy.

A pleasant stop on the Rhine. Ideal for cyclists. The towpath is currently partially closed due to wild boar plague. Please note this when approaching!

The waiter assigned us a table. I put my bike helmet on the table to go and get my wife. When we returned, the table was cleared, and my helmet was somewhere on the sideboard. The second waiter I spoke to said he needed the table and I should find another one in the packed restaurant. In my opinion, this is unacceptable behavior toward a guest who has always returned. We then left.

The food was abysmally bad and very expensive. I have no idea where all the positive reviews come from. The sweet waitress with the amazing piercings, on the other hand, was a dream. She did her work with a lot of love and heart.

Difficult: the drinks arrived halfway through the meal, the tables weren't completely clean, and it gets very busy when the weather's nice, probably because of the campsite next door. The food is edible but lacks flavor (pre-packaged foods).

No-go! The Aldi ready-made pizza was topped with a thick layer of ready-made sauce, then covered with an excessively thick layer of cheese. I feel sick! Google information: When you can return the food or refuse payment: Objective defect: If the food is objectively defective, e.g., the wrong side dishes were delivered or the quality is poor, you can refuse payment.

A nice spot right on the Rhine. It's beautifully situated for a break, for example, during a bike ride. However, it's often busy, so reservations are worthwhile. The food is good and the service is outstanding. I haven't been served this well in a long time. (I've been here several times.)

The location is really good, and so is the view. Otherwise, it seems dated. The service was okay. However, one employee seemed like she was about to fall asleep. Since we were there in the afternoon, there was only a small menu. The fries were okay, with a few black fries.

In good weather, it's a wonderful place to relax right on the Rhine. The dishes we ordered at Stecklers Restaurant were prepared almost perfectly. The steaks, in particular, were exceptionally good and highly recommended. The owners responded to our feedback in a very cooperative and professional manner.

A fantastic restaurant! We cycled along the Rhine and took advantage of the opportunity to camp overnight here. Even though the place was packed, we received a very warm welcome and enjoyed a little slice of Hessian Tuscany with excellent food. Highly recommended.

Currently the best location in Oppenheim. Diverse menu with a huge selection, delicious food, an absolute feel-good atmosphere and a great team.

Very nice ambiance, very friendly waiters 👍👍 the service was top-notch 👍 but the food itself wasn't my thing. 2 small minute steaks made of quite dry meat. I wasn't really full, which is a shame. The potatoes, cut with the skin on as fried potatoes, weren't my thing. The salad with a lot of cabbage and 2 half leaves of coleslaw and some arugula wasn't any better...and 15.80 for that is borderline, I think. There are cheaper and better restaurants in the Palatinate 🤷‍♂️ sorry, I don't need that again.

I can only recommend it. The staff is super friendly, quick, and accommodating 👌🏻 You have a beautiful view of the Rhine. We ate there for the first time today. My wife had a schnitzel that was second to none for the price. Really tasty and a pretty large portion. The side salad was also really good. I had a steak. It was good, but for around €28, I have to admit, I expected more flavor. Maybe more pepper and salt next time. Otherwise, given the size (300g), it's a really good chunk. I highly recommend it. Afterward, you can relax on the beach below. 5 stars for me, all in all 👌🏻

We visited here today. The terrace was occupied by ten people and there were four waiters. We waited forever until someone came. Waited forever for a follow-up order. We were ignored. There wasn't a menu beforehand either. We looked at what we wanted on the internet (it took ages to be served) and ordered accordingly. We were very shocked. We didn't get a proper bill, just a number. We were asked what we were having and then the price was given to us. Prices differ enormously from what is stated on the internet. Unfortunately, everything isn't as good as it used to be under the previous owner. I can understand why no one comes anymore. It's a shame, especially when it comes to the prices and service. A menu is displayed in front of the restaurant and the prices are much cheaper than online but still much cheaper than what is charged at the end. You should definitely ask for the menu and the bill before paying and compare prices. If we go again, it will be only like this.

There were 10 of us there for breakfast. Several plates were dirty, the food was poorly presented, and you had to wonder how you could arrange yogurt/muesli on a normal plate. 🤦🏻‍♂️ The prices are completely unjustified for the service. We then asked the waiter if we could have strawberry jam, and the only response was “you’ll have to see what you can get, maybe you’ll get strawberry,” which in the end wasn’t the case. The table was then reserved for a birthday party for 10 people, and they actually charged €2.50 per person for a few bowls with two candles. That’s simply abysmal. The location is good, the ambience is OK, but it could also use a clean or a coat of paint. Some of the chairs outside were broken and badly damaged. We won’t be coming again, what a shame!

Really nice service. The Oppenheimburger was decent for the price, but nothing special. The fries were rather poorly seasoned. The Gutsherrentoast is highly recommended for a lighter snack. The ambiance outside is also very nice. It feels like you're on vacation somewhere by the sea.

We went to Stecklers with a large group on a warm Sunday to celebrate a birthday – we made a reservation well in advance. The location is really nice, the seating is comfortable, and the portions are generous. The price is absolutely reasonable. Organization & Service: Unfortunately, I had the feeling that the team wasn't well prepared for larger groups – despite having made a reservation in advance. The start was quite hectic: They immediately emphasized that we should "order quickly before it gets crowded outside." This was certainly well-intentioned, but it seemed more stressed than courteous. The communication was at times awkward – for example, when a server said, "Actually, I'd repeat the order, but if people just walk out, it's pointless." – and then just left. With the room temperature over 30°C and some older guests, it would have been understandable to take a quick breath of fresh air. Taking orders table by table or a more systematic approach would have been helpful here. Food: The food arrived relatively quickly – but unfortunately, it was all over the place. Some had their main course much earlier, others only got it when the first people were almost finished. Eating together was almost impossible. The food tasted good, the selection varied, and the portions really generous. That was definitely a plus. Drink Service & Dessert: Drinks were rarely requested or refilled – a wasted potential, especially given the weather. We would have liked to order more, but often there was no server in sight. Things got really tough with dessert: When I politely asked, I was told that ice cream sundaes take longer because they have to be made in-house – a tone that sounded uninviting. A menu would be available "when it's available." After waiting 20 minutes, I went to the counter myself, but received the curt reply that there was no dessert menu. After a total of another 30 minutes without any response or question, we left without dessert – which was unfortunately very disappointing. Conclusion: Stecklers definitely has potential – nice ambiance, good food, expensive but fair prices for the portions. However, when it comes to group reservations, the organization, communication, and service are in dire need of improvement. If you're not well-prepared for larger groups, you shouldn't accept such reservations. Unfortunately, this made our visit less relaxing than we would have hoped for a birthday afternoon.

We ate there on July 6th, 2025 with 16 people. We were all very satisfied. The food was simply incredibly delicious, with super-large portions and beautifully presented. The staff were very attentive and super friendly. I haven't experienced anything like that in a long time. Many thanks to all the staff and I also have to say one thing: dogs are warmly ❤️ welcome at Stecker's Reihnrestaurant. I think that's very important. We can only recommend this restaurant. Beautifully located on the banks of the Rhine, with a fantastic view of the river from the terrace. Excellent service, fast and friendly. The menu is heavily geared towards the clientele of the nearby campsite (focusing on burgers and schnitzel), but there's still something for everyone. Our zander was delicious and highly recommended!

Beautifully located on the Rhine, this beach resort is very busy in good weather, so service can take a little longer.

We had a reservation three weeks in advance for six people and two dogs. Unfortunately, we were 30 minutes late, but we called to let them know. We were told it wouldn't be a problem. We were greeted by a waitress who must have gotten up on the wrong side of the bed that day. She didn't want to give us the reserved table and sat us at a table for four. That was completely unacceptable. After complaining to a colleague, or perhaps it was the manager, we were given a table for six. Thank you for that. The food was good, and our young (still training) waitress was very friendly and attentive. The terrace, with a view of the Rhine, is really nice.

Well, yes. Nice location, clean, and pleasant people. But: It starts with a classic situation: Who's more afraid, the waiter or the customer? Ordered a Coca-Cola, got a Pepsi-Cola without asking. Prices in-store are significantly more expensive than online, 30 to 50% more expensive. Rump steak for €35. Not tested. Apparently, debit cards don't work, so they just want cash.

The food was okay, but the children's menu came last, and it was the wrong one. The service was very disinterested. Something urgently needs to change here!

Tucked away on the Rhine, it's the perfect place to end the day with a beer and fries. The bacon 🥓 is something special that you won't find anywhere else. The restrooms are pretty desolate.

Cyclists can camp by restaurant €10 per tent. But only a toilet no shower.

I'm a long-time guest, always happy to come and enjoy the view, the good food, and the friendly service staff. Unfortunately, that has changed a lot recently. Instead of a welcome, I was recently snapped at, and my question about a free table was answered in a snippy and very contemptuous manner. When I complained about it after about half an hour and repeated polite inquiries, still hadn't received a bill, the lady became completely abusive and insulting. A friend who came to visit me from Saarbrücken to visit Steckler's with me was completely stunned. It's a real shame that such pure poisonous guests work there. Despite the wonderful view of the Rhine and some of the service staff who still display their traditional friendliness, I will no longer visit Steckler's Rheinrestaurant. Unlike in previous years, I won't be able to confidently recommend it to anyone either.

The food was delicious. The prices were reasonable. The terrace, just like before, was very pleasant, with shady spots and a beautiful view of the Rhine. The only annoying thing was the electronic music. Hence, a point deducted. It's also a shame that the adjacent restrooms and shower block are closed. I can't say who's responsible for that, though.
