The food at Darko's is simply the best.

For years we've been happily visiting EL Rancho and are always delighted. The friendly, top-notch service, the high-quality food, and the wonderful steaks are always a highlight 👑👑👑👑👑 It's worth the long drive. We're already looking forward to our next visit with Darko Vuković and his team 🥰

El Rancho is truly an incredible restaurant. The menu has so much variety, unlike any other restaurant. And I've tried a lot of it. All delicious.

Yesterday I celebrated my birthday with 13 people. I had the Adriatic Plate. The meat was very tasty and cooked to perfection. In addition to the fries, I would have liked either djuvec or grilled vegetables on the plate, like the mixed grill option, which comes with djuvec.

Excellent quality meat. The salad bar is fantastic. As always, we received a very friendly welcome and top-notch service.

The food was very good. We just waited a long time for the menu. We also got rolls with herb butter, but we were almost finished eating them, and they weren't fresh either. We ordered a sweet wine and got a semi-dry one. And then the drinks aren't on the menu, which I don't think is right. As a guest, you want to know what they have to drink and how much it costs.

A wonderful dining experience! The salad is included, and you can prepare it yourself from fresh ingredients available. The atmosphere is very cozy, the portions are generous, and the service is impeccable.

Everything is just right here. Delicious food, fresh salad from the salad bar. The steak is always super tasty and of such good quality, without any hint of tendon or fat. You can taste the excellent quality here. The prices are right, too. The takeaway is also delicious. We definitely enjoy coming here often.

I was a loyal guest at El Rancho for many years – a restaurant known for good steaks, friendly service, and a pleasant atmosphere. Unfortunately, I have to say that the quality has noticeably declined recently. On my last visit, I ordered a medium-rare steak, but I received a piece of meat that was completely cooked – dry and far from what I expected. Even small but important details like the fresh rolls, which used to be a matter of course, are now only available upon request. What's also striking is that prices are continually rising without a corresponding improvement in quality. The value for money is no longer right for me. I sincerely hope that El Rancho will return to its former strength – the potential is there, and many regulars would be delighted.

I was there last week and tried the "Pljeskavica Special." The food was excellent, and the service was also very high-quality. Highly recommended; the atmosphere was pleasant and relaxed.

I visited El Rancho in Düren and ordered the Entrecôte steak with a Cola Zero — absolutely fantastic! The steak was perfectly cooked, juicy, and full of flavor, easily one of the best in the area. The atmosphere was cozy, and the service was friendly and attentive. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a great steak experience in Düren!

A solid steakhouse with good value for money. The steak platter for two is generous, and service is prompt. However, the ambiance is a bit dated.

Always a pleasure, friendly staff, only waited 20 minutes for the food, excellent food, meat cooked to perfection. I booked a table at night and reserved it for the next day, and it worked out great. Highly recommend pre-ordering; they were standing in the entrance waiting for a seat. We will eat there again.

We had to wait a long time this time, but the food was good again and the homemade potato salad was delicious.

Feigned friendliness, quality has declined significantly. I don't want to specifically mention the prices, but when I go to a steakhouse that was lovingly built by the Vlahovic family and handed over a few years ago, I expect quality at this price point. We found our platter poorly presented, and the meat was dry.

Good Argentine restaurant, where you can eat both meat (wider choice) and fish. Tonight we opted for fish with colleagues and we had a good time. One appetizer each, one second course each, water, wine and coffee for a total of about €152. All very good. Tables inside and outside. Nice atmosphere. Good service

We had reserved a table online in advance, which was definitely a very good decision, as the restaurant filled up very quickly. Our food order wasn't taken until half an hour after we had already arrived. Unfortunately, this resulted in a longer wait, as a large group was served first, even though we were the first to arrive. Therefore, we received our order about an hour and a half after arriving at El Rancho. At least you could help yourself to the salad bar, which was unfortunately already a bit empty. The food itself, however, was really delicious. They know how to prepare meat! :) The fries, on the other hand, were very limited and not particularly good.

The food is awesome, no doubt about that, but the atmosphere is quite cringe. Those wall decorations are 🤮.. But the food is tip top

We ate here again yesterday, and as always, it was very good. The service was excellent, and the dishes were excellent.

There are better steakhouses. Food wasn't particularly warm. Taste without any special charms. Positive, large salad plates, but for modest salad selection.

Review for El Rancho Düren – Visit on the evening of my 60th birthday Yesterday I was a guest at El Rancho Düren with friends on the occasion of my 60th birthday. I had reserved a table in advance, but unfortunately when we arrived at 6:30 p.m. there was no sign of it - we could simply choose a free table. The menus were brought quickly by a first waiter, the drinks order was then taken by a second and served quickly. He also accommodated our food requests in a friendly and quick manner. The food itself was brought by a third service person - there was absolutely nothing wrong with the taste: it was very good and tasty, we were completely satisfied. Unfortunately, after the empty plates were cleared as we passed and we all received positive feedback when we asked whether it was tasty, nothing more happened. We were completely ignored - no request for dessert, more drinks or a digestif. Only after a long wait and several waves did we finally get the bill, which then took another long time to arrive. Apparently we had simply been forgotten. My conclusion: The food was really very good, but the service left a lot to be desired - especially on an evening that was actually something special for me personally. It's a shame, because with a little more attention the visit could have been a complete success.

Great steaks, great service, always happy

We have been there a few times with our children and everything has always been fine. When we go out to eat, we don't look at the prices. I can't understand some of the reviews here.

An institution in Düren, and has been since many years. Decent food in a classic steakhouse Atmosphere. Not exciting, but very solid.

There were 7 of us at El Rancho yesterday. One person canceled at such short notice that we were no longer able to give notice in time. The boss then turned on us at the entrance and asked us to let us know next time. The food was good, the drinks were partly forgotten. When we asked to pay for the fourth time, the boss became mushy and replied that we weren't the only guests in the restaurant. Apparently this sloppy behavior is not uncommon, as you can read in other comments. We won't be coming back. Fortunately, there are also other excellent restaurants with much better service in Düren.

Unfortunately there is a world of difference between the quality of the food and the service. The steaks tasted great again but unfortunately that was all. The first round of drinks went quickly (although the contents were wrong) and so did the food, but after that you had the feeling that you no longer played a role. It was exactly the same at all the tables around us. Nobody asked for drinks, and no one even responded to a wave of hands. When we didn't feel like it, we had to wave for 20 minutes to be allowed to pay. The waiters specifically avoided stares and no, they weren't understaffed. In the end we had to go to the counter ourselves and pay there. We already had a similar experience in the summer, so this was our last chance. We won't be coming back again. Too bad!

Well-kept table culture with a fine tablecloth and nice decorations. But that alone is not enough. The food was ok, but there was a large salad buffet. We have the impression that the quality has deteriorated. New burger, for example, bone dry. Wholesale hollandaise. The ambience is now very old. Other steakhouses with the same name in the region are much further ahead. Ground floor entrance. A toilet not exactly nice, but at least on the ground floor, but without grab bars. Only partially suitable for wheelchair users.

For me it is one of the best restaurants in price. Performance in Düren. And by far the best steakhouse in the region🫶

Such a cozy place and delicious food

Everything was perfect! The food came very quickly, fresh and delicious salad at the salad bar, the steak was cooked perfectly with a good crust and the seasoning was perfect. Also very nice staff, for me an absolute 10/10 and definitely worth a visit!

For years everything has always been perfect and we have never been disappointed. If it's full you just wait a little longer, you're not running away but enjoying good food and drinks. You'll always come back

The waitress came across as if she didn't want to do her job. In addition, the food was very small and too expensive. We also had to wait 15-20 minutes for the bill. This wasn't the first time this had happened, so we won't be coming back.

The boss behaved disrespectfully towards us without even a hint of an offer of dessert or something similar. The food wasn't brought until 7 p.m. and we were asked to leave straight after the meal because the table was still reserved for someone else. Furthermore, separate payment was not possible because we no longer had the time as we would block the table for longer.

Absolutely arrogant and unfriendly boss. We left over €400 and were treated like packs with complete disrespect!! We aren't anymore, it's a shame we were often there.🤑🤑🤑

Today we and 4 families had booked a table for 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. We had our table at 5:40 p.m. and the menu arrived at 6:15 p.m. In between we had the wrong drinks twice (can happen on days like this). The menu came at 6:15 p.m. dinner at 7 p.m. We had just had the last bite in our mouths when the boss came and said: "Now you have to clear the table!" Sorry, we would like some dessert. "That doesn't exist anymore, you have to pay. And besides, you can be happy that we took you on at all. Ok, then someone would have to collect. When it started to pay, everything that wasn't communicated beforehand had to be paid together We then paid but couldn't leave straight away because the next guests came and met friends who were talking to them and blocking the way. Then the boss came back!!! And said we should finally go out and make room. Should we fly or walk around people? That was definitely the last time we were there. The food can't make up for that either. The bad behavior ONLY came from the boss. The staff was extremely friendly. I also know that there is a lot to do on days like this and you are certainly stressed, but it doesn't justify such impossible behavior.

Cola on the menu 0.2 liters for 3.50 euros! Order a cola and you get a 0.4 liter cola for 5.50 euros!!! How do you arrive at a price of 5.5 euros for a 0.4 liter cola? And there is only the small Cola on the menu. That was the most expensive 0.4 liter of cola I've ever drunk in a restaurant. The price here at other restaurants is never over 4 euros! In addition to the outrageous drink prices, the dishes varied in quality. My dish for 26.50 euros was absolutely tiny. If you're already saving on expensive meat, do you also have to save on fries? The only positive thing was the salad buffet. The knives were so dull that my wife could never cut the broccoli with them. The meat of my meal was tender, my uncle's meat was tough. We won't come back.

Disappointing experience We were really looking forward to our visit to this steakhouse, but were unfortunately disappointed. We ordered the “plate for 2” which seemed promising from the menu. Unfortunately, the portion was far too small - definitely not enough for two people. The meat was also a disappointment: instead of juicy and tender, it was completely cooked, dry and tough. We expected significantly higher quality, especially at this price. The service didn't convince us either. There was little response to our feedback and it seemed to us that criticism was not welcome here. For a steakhouse that promises quality, this was an absolutely disappointing experience. We probably won't come back.

Delicious food for a good price. First there was a negative entry because I had not made a reservation. Later, because it was someone's birthday, the host suddenly had a place.

We were there for our sports club's Christmas dinner. Since there were over 20 people, they had reserved a room for us in the back, so to speak in the "fireplace room". It was a bit cramped, but this was due to the larger number of participants. Ordering drinks was a bit difficult at first. It took quite a long time before a waiter came. However, it must be added that there was also a shortage of staff here and the restaurant was well filled. The food could then be ordered relatively quickly and it arrived quite quickly. As far as I could tell, everyone was thrilled with the food, it was absolutely delicious across the board. Unfortunately, one of the girls was forgotten and got her food a little later, but that can also happen with a full house and orders with a lot of special requests and is excusable . All in all it was a nice evening, in a nice atmosphere, with very good food. Unfortunately I forgot to take photos, but even without them I can recommend the restaurant without reservation.

We were there often and were always satisfied despite the long wait. But now we have experienced the height of impudence there. Reserved a table for November 29th by email on November 26th and received a reservation confirmation by email. However, this email said November 9th. Since it was a past date, I assumed it was a typo. When we arrived there on November 29th, we were left standing at the door. When asked if we had a reservation, I showed the email. In an absolutely impossibly condescending tone, we were told that it was probably my fault if I didn't respond to the wrong date and that there was no table. I then tried to explain that the fault was probably not mine, and we were simply left standing again. After 15 minutes we left. An absolute disgrace and never again!

The food is simply amazing and could also get 6 stars. Service one star deducted At our table we asked for mayonnaise, unfortunately it didn't arrive. When it comes to the ambience, 1 star deducted, everything is a bit older but still suitable. Can only recommend this restaurant.

The food itself was great as always, BUT the service was below average for several reasons: 1. Soups were brought to our table, but then we discovered that they were actually for the neighboring table --> Soups (already stirred, at least not eaten) were brought directly to the neighboring table (the cutlery wasn't even changed 2. the prices of the English card are outdated (approx. 20% lower), but cards are distributed without any indication of this 3. It took approx. 15-20 minutes from asking about the invoice to bringing the invoice (only on special request)

Wow, a great restaurant that everyone should visit. The food was perfect and as offered on the menu. The staff is very nice and friendly and quick. We will eat there more often, it is recommended.

Wasn't that great. The service was apparently under-challenged in an empty restaurant, the steak was supposed to be medium, but it was still basically mooing. This was then put back on the grill, which resulted in a strange mix of English and well done. Not what you want for your birthday. No accomodation whatsoever and responded to complaints in a rather condescending manner. We'll look for another restaurant next time

This used to be my absolute favorite restaurant and we were happy to make the journey. Today we arrived there at 6 p.m., and although we had booked a table for that time, it was already taken and the "gentleman" at the reception reacted completely inappropriately and arrogantly to our questions as to how this could have happened. We were then given another table somewhere in the room. By the way, when I picked up my salad at the salad bar, I noticed that several people had the same situation or were no longer seated, even though the table had been reserved. The friendliness of the waiters was also special. When we were asked which drink we wanted and I replied that I would like to look at the menu first, the waiter walked away completely annoyed and came back with two drink menus, which he said were the drinks and wine menu was, slammed on the table. Unfortunately, the quality of the food was no longer what it once was. At other tables, bread was served with a spread beforehand, but unfortunately not at ours. I rate the salad buffet as positive. In conclusion, one can say that for what a visit to the restaurant costs today, the customer is no longer worth anything. I don't understand why this restaurant is still so busy.

Went to El Rancho again today to eat a delicious steak. As always, the food was good, especially after Corona made it impossible for a long time. Accordingly, it was particularly crowded and the staff couldn't keep up. The rolls with the butter only came when we were almost finished with the salad. We waited a good 30 minutes for drinks. You want to have a nice evening, which you couldn't really do due to the situation. It was very noticeable that there was simply a lack of staff or organization. Still 4* for the excellent steak. Update from September 28, 2024 Been back after a long time. The table we had reserved was simply given to other guests, even though we were on time. Impossible behavior from the restaurant management. Food was good. But we won't come back because you don't have to put up with that. There are good steaks elsewhere too.

Hallo. Leider ist unsere ursprüngliche Bewertung nicht mehr auffindbar. Schade. Damals unter dem vorherigen Chef war das ein toller Laden. Jetziger Chef lässt seine Laune auf die Kunden aus. Das finde ich nicht ok. Auch die Preise sind sehr hoch geworden. Die Qualität des Essens ist wohl sehr gut ,aber das war auch vorher so . Lieber Ladenbesitzer seien Sie doch ein wenig entspannter und freundlicher .Nicht nur zu Ihren Stammgästen.

I've been to El rancho many times now and I have to say it's one of the best restaurants in Düren! I love the atmosphere there, the waiters look professional and are always super friendly and the food is incredibly tasty.

Unfortunately I can only judge (the non-existent) service. After a short wait in the entrance area, we were shown to our table outside. And then ignored for over 30 minutes. We didn't get any tickets nor was there even a waiter with us again. It is normal that the table next to us was newly set and filled with guests. The fact that these guests were then served without even a glance from the staff caused us to leave the restaurant. I am happy for everyone who eats well here and is served courteously. Unfortunately we were not granted this.

Oh no! Ambience of the 80s - I didn't think something like this still existed. The meat and side dishes were OK, the service was friendly and quick, although the tone was a bit too relaxed. Salad buffet also like in the 80s, unfortunately a lot of small flies in the corn. There were also a lot of “big buzzers” in the outdoor area - we changed places and then things got a little better. Then the waiters lit coffee powder - no more flies but no breathable atmosphere either. Of course there are flies in the summer - but never seen in this density. Overall, no longer up to date.

Unfortunately a disappointment after many years :( The steaks were all too well done, although communicated differently, the platter for 100 euros is topped with cheap frozen schnitzels and the service takes forever because it's understaffed. Too bad :( never again

It's a shame to see what has become of this good restaurant. No welcome, poor service. Prices raised, quality of food below average. Only regular guests were adequately served. For us it was the last time.

Schnitzel was obviously frozen. Medium steak was almost completely done. Ketchup and mayo were only available in the Netto tubes (kills the mood a bit when you order a plate for 4 people for €100 and then see the "Papa Joes" Heinz imitation from Netto in the original packaging on the table). The waiting times were quite long because there was obviously not a lot of staff spread over many guests, but that wasn't so bad because of the friendliness of the waiters.
