We were there again today and ate bifteki and extra Metaxa sauce, which was delicious as always. Prices are ok very professional staff.

Been there again. Ordered a gyro plate and everything was top notch and the staff were very friendly and helpful. 👍🏻

The pretty location by the lake looks inviting. Service was ok. But unfortunately the food was subpar. Every chip shop has better food. Prices too high for this (non)quality. Gyros limp, too fatty and not very crispy. The chicken was probably some kind of pressed meat from the freezer with no taste at all, as well as an indefinable skewer of meat that unfortunately wasn't completely cooked through. But the worst part was the blob of white and mushy rice. It looked like paste and tasted like it too. Shame about the money! I don't normally write reviews, but this is something consumers should be informed about. No, the competition didn't send me either.

Actually a nice location. Also very friendly. But I still have to complain! Ordered a fish platter for 2 people. My expectation was of course a large sea bream, a handful of sprats or something, 4-6 shrimps and some Calmar. Plus squid rings with delicious dips and all colorfully and nicely garnished. Dear owners, you can get all of this in the metro or at the Asian restaurant! We received: a white plate full of frozen goods stacked on top of each other. Breaded and fried. It looked so boring and greasy. This is how I prepare fish at home when I'm in a hurry. No, that's not true! I put a Dorado for 9 euros from Edeka on the grill. So I imagine a fish platter from a Greek to be different.

Very nice outdoor area, the staff speaks e.g. Partly no German, but he's nice. The food is quite tasty, although not top class. Overall recommended.

The ambience is great, the service is ok. But I can't understand what the chef means by Greek food! Tzatziki that tastes like a salad cream, without garlic, without cucumbers, completely without taste... French fries as thick as a thumb, without salt, red rice cooked in Maggi. Farmers souflaki, supposedly from the grill (looked like it was cooked...) salad without dressing, without pepper or salt, not separately but simply placed on the plate. Flabby gyros without any taste rounded off the “grill plate”. My wife and I ate about 10 percent and cut back on 90 percent. We have relatives and friends from Greece and know Greek cuisine well enough. But with all due respect, this is not Greek cuisine. Bifteki full of water from freezing, relatively small portions that are filled with salad so that it doesn't look like children's plates. Salads with French dressing which I don't expect from a Greek restaurant. Doesn't correspond to what the prices suggest

You can sit outside really well. Drinks okay. Food not recommended. My wife's gyro plate next to my lamb chops were old hard and very fatty. I remember a Greek differently

I was there for the first time today. The view of the lake is very idyllic. I ordered a side salad and a main course. When the food came, I was a bit irritated because the side salad had tuna on it, but I didn't question it further because otherwise the size of the salad etc. looked like a normal side salad. The food was ok but extremely oily. When I went to pay, it turned out that I had accidentally gotten (and eaten) a tuna salad. The staff insisted that I have to pay for the tuna salad for 18€. I should have pointed out sooner that it was the wrong salad. I reasoned that even if I had noticed, the salad would have had to be thrown away AND a new side salad would have had to be made as well. They replied in the affirmative and repeated that I had finally eaten the salad and now I had to pay. Overall a very unpleasant and rude experience.

My place was hectic and didn't taste good at all and the cutlery wasn't clean. Never again

What seemed inviting at the beginning turned out to be one of the unfriendly restaurant visits I had ever experienced. A side salad was ordered. There was also a (quite oily) salad with various side dishes, including tuna, but the size was indistinguishable from a side salad. (18.90€) When the error was noticed when paying, it still had to be paid instead of the price of the side salad. Despite repeatedly mentioning the mishap and the inconvenience, I and my companion were simply turned away and told it was our mistake and that we had apparently never been to a restaurant before. Otherwise it has to be said that it is not possible to pay by card and if it hadn't been for the view of the lake, it would have been a total failure.

Unfortunately not the best visit to the Greek. I didn't like the fries (for me, good fries are part of Greek food). The staff was friendly, but I didn't find it pleasant to sit there. I find the prices unreasonable for the quality of the food and the atmosphere. Well, I actually expected the answer under my review (see other negative reviews). But what do you expect? I paid a lot of money for an unjustified service, but still God punish me for writing this review. Hell and purgatory are justified satisfaction.

Spontaneous stop on a Friday without a reservation. We received a friendly welcome and were given a rustic spot. Had a lovely time with solid and tasty food. A bit inconspicuously located, but definitely recommended.

I felt like traveling back to Crete island, Malia, to a little port tavern where I used to stop by with my family many many years ago. It brought so much lovely memories. It felt like at home. No bad comments about my kids being kids, very delicious kid plate. Unfortunately I did not try anything else. Just a lovely place. Will surely be coming again.

Unfortunately I was not at all satisfied with the food. Gyros over-baked were swimming in fat and the meat was tough and not crispy. Salad was soggy and only a small corner on the same plate with the fries. There was no response to my statement in any way and there wasn't even the usual Greek ouso. The prices were clearly too high for that. I won't go there again.

First of all, I would like to say that I am not a notorious complainer. And the service and ambience were okay. With over 40 years of experience in Greece, I also know what Greek food tastes and should taste like. I particularly like the crispy bifteki with the feta filling. But what I got here had little to do with Bifteki. When I cut through the bifteki, whitish liquid ran out from the inside and the plate floated in this watery consistency. It wasn't feta as the waitress tried to explain to me. The mince inside wasn't fully cooked either but was still slightly pink. It wasn't completely inedible but it had nothing to do with the Bifteki as I know them. My wife had souflaki. For me, the meat cubes were really tough and full of fat. There was no improvement in any form, and I find that very sad. This is also actually unusual for “Greeks”. The service emphasized that the meat came from a Greek butcher and there was little they could do about that. Sorry, more than 1 star is not possible and I wouldn't sit down for a detailed review if the food had been anywhere near okay.

Definitely not enough food on the plate. The portion of chicken souflaki looked like a children's plate... fries were also very greasy.

(3 years ago, with pictures) The food is very tasty and the view of the Ruhr is also very nice if you have the right place in the cozy outdoor area. Keep it up! :-) Only the service was not particularly attentive and too hectic. It would be nice to take a little more time to fully take orders, ask questions and listen instead of quickly running away. ADDENDUM (after three years of visiting again, no pictures): M. M. n. quite expensive, the portions could be larger and the service was still pretty inattentive for us! A pity... ADDENDUM (to the owner's answer): No, I wasn't sent by anyone, not even the competition! Do you think threats and blackmail are the right way to respond to criticism? ADDENDUM (to the owner's answer): Because a lot can change in three years and I give everyone chances. My first review/my first visit wasn't SO negative that you never have to come back. I never said they were a bad restaurant and that my experience applies to ALL guests!

Delicious food and nice service

Service top Food flop Since we are not iceberg salad fans, we swapped the so-called farmer's salad for coleslaw. Shortly after we ordered, the starter arrived and then... . . no coleslaw today AND THAT IN A GREEK RESTAURANT 😭😭😭. Calamari out of the bag and the gyros totally greasy (when I made a “complaint” the answer was that gyros always have 50% fat) just sad and NOT recommended.

I would like to describe my impressions. I was in "Gleis 2" twice during Carnival and I would like to point out that both times the rooms were extremely full, with more people than available seats (events organized by carnival clubs). This is the basis for my 3* rating for the SERVICE, unfortunately it was very slow and almost 30 minutes of waiting time for a mineral water is not adequate even with this level of workload. This could certainly be easily counteracted with more service staff. I think it's good that the variety of dishes on offer is reduced on such days, so the kitchen can prepare much better for the expected rush. All in all, this occupancy is certainly not the norm and a visit to "Platform 2" is NOT a failure. However, the sanitary facilities could use some renovation.

Unfortunately I can only give one star. The restaurant advertises parking spaces for disabled people, but when I get there I find that the location can only be reached via a steep staircase. Unfortunately, very annoyingly, I drove 25km for nothing.

What happened here? We were always really excited about the food, but it's not what it used to be. Souvlaki has completely changed, gyros stank of old, rotten pork. After the renovation, we'll give you another chance to see if you just had a bad day.

Das Essen war schon viel viel besser. Die Metaxa Sauce war gestern leider sehr dünn und hatte kaum Geschmack. Genau wie das dazugehörige Hähnchen. Der Rest war auf gutem Imbiss Buden Niveau. Von der Bedienung erwarte ich auch ein wenig mehr Entertainment. Dafür komme ich doch zum Griechen ! .... Für griechische Köstlichkeiten bei Freunden. Hoffentlich beim nächsten Mal wieder.

Essen lecker, nicht üppig aber ausreichend Service super, es kam passend nach der Vorspeise das Essen. Nur leider kein Ouzo auf's Haus zum Abschluss Trotzdem Empfehlenswert

Für die schnelle Einkehr am Baldeneysee ist es okay.

Ich war zuletzt 2021 da. Aber anscheinend hat sich Nichts geändert. Insbesondere bei den Kommentaren/Reaktionen des Pseudo-Inhabers. Laut Schild eine Frau?! Wir haben den Herrn live erlebt. Bei freundlicher Kritik vor Ort war er sofort auf 180 und wurde ausfallend. Kritikfähigkeit suboptimal und für GASTronomie nicht geeignet. Die Antwort des Inhabers sagt alles, eine glatte Lüge. Ich bezahle immer sofort mit Karte oder bar.

Nach 30 Minuten Wartezeit hat uns noch niemand gefragt was wir trinken wollen, obwohl kaum Gäste dort waren.

Liegt zwar direkt am Wasser,aber irgendwie wars nicht so toll. Speisenkarte ziemlich verklebt und eine Reinigung wäre mal nötig. Essen war ganz okay..... Der obligatorische uozo wurde nicht gereicht... Alles in allem; wir werden nicht wiederkommen

Unverschämt,… bei Regen mit einen sechsmonatigen Baby im Kinderwagen(Schale)dort angekommen. Die Terrasse war offen und komplett frei. Wurden dann von einem sehr unfreundlichen Jungen Mann(selbst mit Kind) darauf hingewiesen, dass oben alles offen ist und die Terrasse zu…ohne Aufzug, mit engen steilen Treppen den Kinderwagen hoch”schleppen”. Sorry, aber das ist keine Gastfreundschaft und guter Service!

Sehr schönes Ambiente und für eine geschlossene Gesellschaft super geeignet, vor allem im Sommer draußen. Der Service ist freundlich und das Essen lecker und in Ordnung.

Wir waren heute das erste Mal in diesem Restaurant. Das Ambiente war sehr schön, leider war das Restaurant bereits von der Straße aus relativ schwierig zu finden, da keine ausreichende Beschilderung vorhanden ist. Nachdem wir dann unsere Bestellung aufgegeben hatten und die Bedienung freundlich sowie Wartezeit akzeptabel waren, erhielten wir eine leckere Vorspeise. Leider wurde diese durch unsere beiden bestellten Grillteller schnell vergessen. Wir essen sehr gerne griechisch, doch müssen sagen, dass das Essen wirklich nicht lecker war. Das Gyros war sehr fettig, der Reis matschig und schmeckte mach Gemüsebrühe, das Dressing auf dem Salat traf überhaupt nicht unseren Geschmack, die beiden Spieße waren fettig und versalzen und selbst die Pommes nicht knusprig. Das bestellen eines zweiten Getränks war nicht möglich durch fehlende Bedienung und das Bezahlen war am Ende auch nur mit langer Wartezeit möglich. Am Ende muss ich sagen, dass die Qualität des Essens schlichtweg sehr schlecht war und ich nicht wiederkommen würde.

Waren heute das erste mal dort . Ambiente wirklich toll. Und wir wurden schnell zum Platz begleitet. Leider hat die Aufnahme der Bestellung recht lang gedauert Tische nach uns wurden viel früher bedient und hatten ihr Essen schon, bevor wir überhaupt bestellen konnten. Kann aber auch daran liegen das der Außenbeleuchtung recht gut besucht war, aber dann ist 1 Servicekraft einfach zu wenig. Die Portionen sind relativ klein da kann ich den vorherigen Rezensionen nur zustimmen. Gegessen wurden zwei Grillteller. Ich fand es komisch das mein Gyros zb. gut war und bei meiner Partnerin durchweg sehr fettig und labbrig. Auch der Reis war sehr matschig. Ich denke es liegt einfach daran, dass es heute Abend voll war. Aber da sollte die Qualität nicht drunter leiden. Gern hätte ich auch in den 2 Stunden mehr als nur 1 Getränk verzehrt bei den Temperaturen aber wir wurden nicht wirklich beachtet. Schade meine Partnerin und ich wollten hier auf unseren Jahrestag anstoßen und einen schönen Abend verbringen. Aber wie immer gebe ich jedem gern eine 2 Chance. Ich hoffe dann wird es besser 😊

Ein schöner Abend mit Freunden in einem guten Restaurant. Es war sehr lecker, gute Portionen und eine sehr schöne Kulisse direkt am Wasser. Der Biergarten ist gemütlich und gut gelungen. Das Ambiente im Restaurant ist etwas außer Mode, aber bei dem aktuell schönen Wetter sitzt man ja eh auf der großen Terrasse...

Das erste Mal dass ich nur 1 Stern vergebe. Das Essen war leider (subjektiv) nicht schmackhaft, lieblos angerichtet und m.E. aus dem Grund überteuert. Das Ganze hatte ein Ambiente eines Imbisses. Das Essen war ausgesprochen schlecht.

Das Essen ist absolut schlecht. Mit Gastronomie hat das überhaupt nichts zu tun, das Bifteki war von schlechtester Qualität, scheinbar ein billiges Fertigprodukt wo beim schneiden Wasser rauslief, die Metaxa Soße irgendein Kleister, das Schnitzel ein ekliges pressfleisch imitat übergossen mit einer Soße scheinbar aus dem Glas, die Fritten ekelhaft, geschmacklich in altem öl fritiert, der Salat kein bisschen knackig, eben ohne Worte...Preise aber satt🤣🤣🤣 Ach ja...den obligatorischen Ouzo gabs auch nicht, vielleicht auch besser so...

Das essen ist geteilte Meinung. Mir hat es geschmeckt. Sonst war alles gut. Personal sehr freundlich.

Preisleistungsverhältnis ist verbesserungswürdig. Magere und sparsame Portionen für eine menge Geld. Essen hat fast 1 Stunde gedauert und als wir höflich gefragt haben, ob es in Vergessenheit geraten ist, kam folgende Antwort von der Kellnerin: „Sie (Gäste) kamen alle auf einmal ins Restaurant und wir haben nur eine Küche.“ Sowas geht auch anders - Kundenumgang ist nicht gerade angenehmen gewesen. Kellner/-in unfreundlich und gehetzt. Räumt den Tisch frei direkt, als bezahlt worden ist. Normalerweise wartet man, bis die Kundschaft weg ist und dann räumt man frei für den nächsten Kunden. Und nicht unmittelbar direkt nach der Bezahlung. Man fühlt sich weggescheucht. Zwei Sterne gibt es nur für die tolle Location!!!

Ein tolles Restaurant in schöner Lage am Baldeneysee. Perfekter Service, sehr freundlich und es schmeckt richtig gut. Die Preise sin auch vernünftig 😊

Das Essen ist sehr gut und reichhaltig. Vegetarisch könnte das Angebot etwas größer sein. Ambiente ein bisschen angestaubt, aber man fühlt sich wohl. Bedienung ist sehr nett. Ich kann es nur empfehlen.

Empfangen von einer gut gelaunten Mitarbeiterin begann ein gelungener Abend im Stathmos. Service war sehr gut ebenso wie das Essen. Lediglich die Pommes beim Grillteller hätten noch eine Minute länger in der Friteuse verweilen können. Wir kommen jedenfalls gerne wieder.

Sehr schöne Lage wenn man auf den Balkon sitzt hat man den Baldeneysee zu seinem Füßen, bei schönen Wetter ein unbezahlbar Blick.

Eine wirklich tolle Location, mit einem schönen Ausblick auf die Ruhr, mit schmackhaftem Essen, guter Bedienung und Service. Parkplätze sind in der Umgebung zu genüge vorhanden, so dass man ganz einfach fußläufig die Location erreicht. Die Belegschaft sowie sein Service und die Bedienung sind freundlich und zuvorkommend. Kann auch für Hochzeiten gebucht werden. Klare Weiterempfehlung.

Wir haben eine wunderschöne Hochzeitsfeier erleben dürfen! Das Team hat unsere Wünsche mit ganz viel Herz und Liebe zum Detail perfekt umgesetzt. Es war absolut die richtige Entscheidung hier zu feiern!!!

Ich habe dort am vergangenen Samstag meinen Geburtstag mit ca. 50 Gästen gefeiert und hatte einen großartigen Abend! Dank des Einsatzes der Inhaber und der Mitarbeiter von Stathmos haben sich meine Gäste sehr wohl gefühlt. Vielen lieben Dank an das gesamte Stathmos-Team!!! Die Räumlichkeiten waren entsprechend meinen Wünschen hergerichtet, die Atmosphäre war sehr schön, der Service war perfekt, alle Mitarbeiter waren freundlich und aufmerksam, das Essen war ebenfalls gut und dass noch bis ca. 02:00 Uhr getanzt wurde, war kein Problem - kurzum alles war perfekt! Meine Frau und ich kommen sehr gerne wieder!

Geschmacklich sehr gut. Bei der tollen Lage am Anfang des Baldeneysee sehr preisgünstig. Lediglich das Schweinefilet hätte einen Tick eher vom Grill gemusst.

Ich muss hardern ich würde 3,5 sterne geben , fleisch war lecker aber zu trocken , die sousse war mit wein gemacht aber leider fehlte der richtige geschmack zubereitet vom kochen her gut . Getränke und service waren gut . Fehler beim kochen beseitigen und ihr gewinnt auf ganzer linie.werde zum probieren wieder hinfahren

Alles war wunderbar. Die Bedienung nett und freundlich. Das Essen sehr gut. Ein Punkt Abzug fürs Zaziki. Es war nicht cremig. Meines Erachtens fehlte FETT.

Wir haben 27 mal Frühstück bestellt und es war wesentlich mehr vorhanden. Die meisten Personen fanden das Frühstück gut oder sehr gut. Erwähnenswert ist auch, das eiine sehr kurzfristige Bestellung noch so gut geklappt hat.

Das schlechteste Frühstück das ich für 15,90Euro je gesehen habe. Wir waren ca 30 unzufriedene Gäste sie können eine Sammelklage anstreben. Wir waren nicht der Bus der zu spät kam .Das Frühstück stand keine zwei Stunden und da haben wir ja anscheinend Glück gehabt das es uns nicht so getroffen hat etwas zu essen was 2 Stunden bei 30Grad auf dem Tisch stand.

Wir waren zum Frühstück dort, nie wieder.

Freundlicher und aufmerksamer Service in toller Atmosphäre mit Blick auf den Baldeneysee. Und dazu tolle griechische Gerichte! War sehr lecker!

Wir haben vor Ort gegessen , es gab keine lange Wartezeit , sehr schmackhaft ! Freundliche Bedienung, sehr aufmerksam.

Gyros überbacken, total kecker. Der Retsina ist relativ mild, der rote Imiglikos sehr lecker. Einziger Nachteil: Das schmackhafte Essen ist flott verputzt. Ansonsten ist Gleis 2 nicht nur für Eisenbahnfans zu empfehlen. 👍

Schöne Atmosphäre, nettes Personal. Leckeres Essen. Also, empfehlenswert.

Das Essen war ziemlich trocken weil es wahrscheinlich zu lange warm gehalten wurde.

Nette Terrasse mit Seeblick. Leider war das Essen (Auberginen, Feta, Salat) bestenfalls mäßig gut, der „Tsatsiki“ hingegen wirklich schlecht (Eimerware?). Die freundlichen Servicekräfte konnten das auch nicht mehr ausgleichen.

Tolle Atmosphäre, top Essen, aufmerksame Bedienung :) saubere Toiletten. Was möchte man mehr ?:) Wir waren sehr zufrieden.

Wir waren vor einigen Tagen im Stathmos. Angesichts des schönen Wetters haben wir draußen gesessen und gegessen. Nach einer Runde um den Baldeneysee hatten wir großen Hunger und den Grillteller bestellt. Der war sehr lecker und wir kommen gerne wieder!
