A beautiful and magical ambience like something out of a fairy tale. We were lucky enough to get a last free table for two even without ordering and were blown away. The fountain in the outdoor seating area accompanied the choir that could be heard over the walls of the inner courtyard. The food was delicious, the service was courteous and friendly. Six stars would be nice.

Very tasty food with huge portions, freshly prepared and really tasty. The staff was also friendly and accommodating.

Good food in beautiful, traditional surroundings. We were lucky enough to be able to spend a sunny afternoon in the garden and enjoy our food. I really enjoyed the Silesian Kingdom of Heaven.

The food was phenomenally delicious, the service was courteous, and a vase with a swastika from 1936 was irritating. A pity.

The St. Jonathan can be recommended without reservation: good food selection, excellent and friendly service, all in a great historical ambience. My family and I really enjoyed it.

Disappointing visit with service that needs improvement. We chose this restaurant for our birthday celebration and made a reservation for 11:30 a.m. Our request to put flowers on the table 10 minutes in advance was grudgingly granted, with the justification that it opened earlier anyway on Easter Sunday. The service was aloof and not very accommodating. When we expressed friendly criticism about the quality of a meal, we were lectured to instead of being taken seriously. We should reconsider our claim that other guests could notice. We found the price-performance ratio to be unbalanced as the quality of the food did not justify the higher price, especially for the soups. Unfortunately there will probably not be a second visit.

Wasn't there for a long time and was once again impressed by the excellent quality of the steak. The service was great and also discussed our small requests for changes with the kitchen. The steak was tender, well seasoned and exactly as ordered. This is a master at the grill. The bottle of wine was also good and so it was 2. The very appealing ambience further increased the feel-good factor. The restaurant can be recommended without any ifs and buts.

Great restaurant with vaulted ceilings. There is also something for vegetarians. Small deduction in service - 2/3 of the dishes were missing one or even two side dishes. It came as soon as we pointed it out... But in two dishes I thought it was a lot.

I am thrilled by the ambience, as well as by the entire city of Görlitz. The food is appropriately tasty and high quality and the portions are really large. The evening was rounded off by friendly and proactive service.

We went to this restaurant because it is located in the very heart of the old town of Görlec, and it looks very excellent, but inside we were disappointed, we still have to trust the google rating, the service is simply terrible, the waitress completely refused to understand us in English, Polish and Russian languages, it’s not clear how you can work in a tourist city that is 100 meters from Poland and not want to help tourists with choosing dishes in some other language. And all this happened with an arrogant air. But we somehow managed to cope with this, and then other disappointments began, the dishes began to be brought too salty and in plates with chips, plus some drunk, dirty homeless man was constantly walking around the restaurant and none of the staff reacted to him, well (the highlight ) all of this we waited for about 30 minutes for the bill. I don't recommend this restaurant. Around the corner there is a wonderful restaurant with a high rating and which deserves attention SALÜ

The restaurant is very nice, the inside is entourage and pleasant. The food is quite tasty. Service is bad, waiters don't even try to understand customers speaking other languages, particularly English. They speak exclusively in German. The bill takes a very long time to arrive

Nice restaurant and the food was also delicious... Unfortunately, that was the first and last time we entered this house. I just wanted to kindly point out to the restaurant manager that it might be appropriate to mention that certain dishes on the menu are prepared with plenty of garlic. (Or at least the information that you should mention it when ordering... Please without) She then came to me in a very unfriendly manner and then fetched the receipt and told us to leave the restaurant. Less than a minute later, a man with an unkempt appearance, who was probably supposed to represent the boss, came to our table and asked us to leave the house immediately. Without even asking a question. We actually wanted dessert and something to drink... No chance. We go out to eat with our friends every Sunday evening in the Bautzen Löbau Görlitz region. And were satisfied always and everywhere. I have never experienced anything like it. Never again...!!! Unless there is a new operator. Absolutely underground...

Very nice restaurant in an old vault. Good kitchen. Small but good menu. Quality of the food was very good. The waitresses aren't the quickest and seem annoyed when you raise your hand for another drink, etc. to reorder. Booking a table in advance is advisable. It is very crowded here, especially on weekends. Try it during the week if you're lucky. Always happy because it's really tasty there. Mediterranean and German cuisine.

The restaurant is very centrally located directly on the Untermarkt, a short distance from our holiday apartment! The food was very tasty, we had the beef fillet steak which was super tender. We felt good. And we would love to come back when we are in Görlitz.

The waitress was very personable as soon as she came in and provided excellent service. I had the goat cheese as a starter and the rump steak surf'n turf as the main course. Both excellent and stimulating our appetite, we were served a salad with bread and homemade butter beforehand. Highly recommended, thank you for the lovely evening. The wine selection is also good and the service is good.

Beautiful restaurant in an old vault and with a romantic summer garden. Unfortunately the service this time was very unprofessional. The wine was wonderful, but the meat dishes were both very dry, and the sauce wasn't tasty. A pity.

Ein ganz tolles Ambiente am Görlitzer Untermarkt. Sehr leckeres Essen - das Schlesische Himmelreich ist sehr empfehlenswert. Die Desserts sind lecker und riesig. Aber der Service war irgendwie überambitioniert beim Abräumen und Drängeln, fertigzuwerden.

...wir haben lecker und vor allem gemütlich gegessen. Kleiner Salat vorneweg und danach Schweinelende in Pfeffersauce. Von der Menge her passte dann auch der Preis. Gern einmal wieder. Parken auf dem Obermarkt und dann sind es zu Fuss 5 Min.

Wir hatten nicht reserviert und wurden vom Service freundlich zu unserem Tisch begleitet. Nach der Bestellung kam zügig die Getränke und das Essen. Es war sehr lecker. Preisleistung ist okay. Das Ambiente hat mir sehr gut gefallen. Denke im Sommer ist es im Biergarten auch toll. Wir kommen wieder und testen es. Dem Team wünschen wir weiterhin nette Gäste.

Ein schönes Gewölberestaurant mit regionalen Gerichten, dem passenden Bier und freundlichem Service… Wir waren zum Mittag zu Gast und haben eine sehr angenehme Zeit verbracht. Das Restaurant ist sehr gemütlich und es finden sich viele schöne Details im ganzen Raum verteilt. Das Wichtigste ist natürlich das Essen, was rundherum überzeugte. Im Hinterhof findet sich auch noch ein hübscher Garten mit Wasserbecken, wo es sich im Sommer unter alten Bäumen sicherlich hervorragend genießen lässt. Fazit: sehr empfehlenswert!

The place itself is beautiful and charming but the food is unspectacular and there was a black worm in my salad. If it was my restaurant, I wouldn’t have charged for it or would have offered a treat to make up for such unpleasant oversight, but they haven’t even apologized - instead they’ve offered a new salad (no, thanks).

Super Restaurant mit köstlichen Speisen. Selbst bei hoher Auslastung und kurzfristigem Ausfall eines Mitarbeiters ist der Service sehr charmant und aufmerksam. Empfehlenswert!

Sehr leckeres und regionales Essen welches hörbar im Hintergrund frisch zubereitet wird. Wir waren heute das erste, aber nicht das letzte Mal hier.

War das letzte Mal vor drei Jahren hier und war damals sehr begeistert. Leider hat sich das geändert. Das ging schon bei der Ankunft los. Wir standen gefühlt 10 Minuten unbeachtet vom Personal in der Wartezone. Als ich dann zum Tresen ging um freundlich nach einen freien Tisch zu fragen, wurde man auch fast nur ignoriert. Tische waren genügend frei. Freundlich und Einladend ist Anders 🙃 das Essen wiederum war sehr gut! Die Bedienung fragte auch nach, ob alles gut sei 👍 Das dicke Ende kam aber noch, als es um die Zahlung ging. Man fragte wie ich zahlen möchte, ich sagte mit Karte. Dazu sollte ich wieder an den Tresen kommen. Ich gab meine Kreditkarte, weil es war ein Geschäftsessen, da wurde mir erklärt das nur Bar oder EC Karte akzeptiert wird 🫣 Da mein Bargeld für den Rechnungsbetrag natürlich nicht ausreichend war. Wurde ich durch die halbe Görlitzer Altstadt geschickt um Bargeld zu holen. Ich denke das war mein letztes Geschäftsessen in diesem Lokal. Schade weil das Ambiente und das Haus Potential hat.

Wir hatten ein Kollegiumsessen mit 45 Personen im wunderbaren Renaissancesaal. Alles war absolut perfekt… von der Organisation zur Speisenauswahl zum Empfang, dem Essen und dem Top service!! Ganz große Klasse und das alles neben dem normalen Restaurantbetrieb! Große Klasse!

Trotz vollem Haus und teils dreisten Gästen zum Fremdschämen: eine wunderbare Oase mit hervorragendem Essen und sehr zuvorkommendem Service!

Essen top... bisschen groß und viele Menschen, aber das ist mein Empfinden, ähnlich einer Bahnhofshalle, was nicht negativ gemeint ist...am Personal mangelt es auf keinen Fall 👍

Wir mussten 20 Minuten warten bis wir eine Karte bekommen haben, dann mussten wir noch einmal 20 Minuten warten bis Bestellung aufgenommen wurde und das obwohl wir einen Tisch bestellt hatten. Es hatten einige vor uns das Essen obwohl sie später gekommen sind. Die Vorspeise wurde komplett vergessen. Der Service ist einfach unterirdisch, dafür war das Essen gut. Trotzdem gibt es keine Weiterempfehlung.

Leider stark nachgelassen. Unsere Kellnerin war mehr als unfreundlich. Zwei Gerichte waren ausverkauft, was definitiv kein Problem ist aber erst gesagt wurde als wir unsere Bestellung aufgegeben hatten. Sie war keine Aushilfe, wo es eventuell vorher untergegangen sein könnte. Unnötige Kommentare zu unserer Bestellung und den Wein erst nach der 2. Bestellung gebracht. War viel los, ich denke es war das normale Alltagsgeschäft. Das orientalische Gericht war leider nicht zum Genießen aber der Rest von der Bestellung war gut. Und beim bezahlen mit Karte lagen amtliche Briefe neben dem Lesegerät. Ich hoffe es war eine Ausnahme, es gab trotzdem Trinkgeld, da die anderen Kellner sehr zuvorkommend waren.

Klasse. Hier gibt es mal 5 Sterne für alles. Wir waren rundum zufrieden. Sowohl der Service, als auch das Essen waren hervorragend. Dazu noch die Plätze im traumhaften Garten bei tollem Sommerwetter, was will man mehr. Wir kommen garantiert bei unserem nächsten Besuch in Görlitz wieder.
