Split in Berlin

A little trip back in time to old West Berlin. The staff is very friendly and personable, the food plentiful and delicious, with many very well-prepared meat dishes. The restaurant is cozy, and I always notice the customers as pleasant, normal people, often families with children who still have a good upbringing. Everything fits together perfectly, and we always enjoy going to Split. Thank you for the great service.

Good restaurant, unfortunately the public order office is lurking outside, so you quickly have to pay an extra 30 euros

An absolute highlight! I had an incredibly delicious meal here - the Ćevapčići were perfectly seasoned and grilled to perfection, with crispy fries, a fresh salad and both spicy and regular onions for the perfect taste. The quality of the ingredients was top and the portions were more than sufficient. If you love Balkan cuisine, you should definitely stop by here! Friendly service and a cozy atmosphere complete the whole thing. Clear recommendation!

My home address in Berlin! A must for every visit to Berlin. I've been eating here since the early '00s and both the ambience and quality have remained the same. Childhood memories come back! Absolutely friendly service - a little piece of Croatia in Berlin. At the end there is a Dalmatian schnapps on the house.

Awesome, great service, great price. The staff were friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. The food was great and some unexpected extras turned up. We All cleared our plates and couldn’t have eaten any more. Best meal we had in Berlin.

Probably the best Croatian restaurant in Berlin. Balkan food is a treat if you're into Mediterranean style food and want to try something else besides Italian, Spanish, or Greek. Reservation isn't really needed as there is usually space.

All in all it was okay. I've eaten better, but definitely also worse. Rather rustically furnished but all in all clean. 👏

Wow, the store is great! I love this large stained glass window. The food was also delicious. The restaurant was also at full capacity, so it seems that others enjoyed it too.

Restaurant of my childhood. Prices have now risen significantly, small portions. Also the cappuccino. I can judge that because I have another regular Croatian. I expressed a wish to get white onions instead of the hot ones. I would have paid too. But the request was not fulfilled because there were some on the plate. I find it totally customer-unfriendly! To make matters worse, I was given the bowl with the spicy ones. Completely unnecessary. Sanitary facilities need to be overhauled.

Croatian restaurant that is very close to the hotel where I was staying. The menu is very extensive, with Croatian dishes, grilled dishes, fish, etc. I came to eat and decided on a plate of goose breast, since it was the season. With a Berliner beer and a latte, the bill came to €34.90. The goose, acceptable; I had never tried it before and found it to have a texture similar to chicken, although with much darker meat and a flavor that was too intense; It is not a meat that I think I repeat. The place was very good, and the service was good, although a little slow, but you have to keep in mind that the restaurant was packed.

Been there again after many years and it is just as great as it was back then. 👍🏻 Very tasty dishes, great grilled meats and the calamari are absolutely recommended. But the best thing is the incredibly nice service! This has to be emphasized again and again these days. If you like good and authentic Croatian cuisine, this is the place for you!

Such a great experience! I loved the history of this place. The "old" style of the restaurant transported me back to my childhood in many ways, yet still seemed in "new" condition. The service was fantastic and helped me find the right food on a cold December day.

For many years now, whenever I'm in the area, I've enjoyed coming to the "Split". Classic Balkan cuisine and also international cuisine. Of course not star cuisine, but decent quality that has remained pretty much the same over the years. The price-performance ratio is also right.

Good food...moderate prices...fast and friendly service...however, it would be an advantage if you reserved seats in advance...the restaurant is almost always fully booked...because the food is really delicious

Delicious food, first time I tried Croatian cuisine and it was a wonderful surprise. The dishes are very well served, everything was tasty and the atmosphere was authentic. Staff was super nice as well, definitely recommend!

My family has been going to Split ever since they were in Karl Marx Street. The food is still really tasty, prices are reasonable, one of the few restaurants where we still eat.

Great atmosphere with some of the most delicious food in Berlin. I really felt like I am back home in the Balkans. We had Gurmanska Plejskavica and Hajducki Cevap with some Sljivovica and felt like in paradise!

You have to do it if you are nearby. Small, rustic shop with Balkan specialties and delicious imported beer.

I have to mention that the potato with pancetta was really very greasy, otherwise the steak well done was excellent. Price ok.

Unfortunately, I had an enormous amount of cartilage in my meat and just as many bone fragments. This spoiled my appetite and I had to chew carefully otherwise I might have chipped a tooth. Not in all Cevapcici, out of 8 at least in 4 or more. The service was nice, but nothing more. The rice was okay, but it was prepared with frozen carrots, which you can definitely taste. The salad that was served beforehand was far too sour for me personally. Very unfortunate.

Yes, that would be the typical cuisine and if you like a cozy, somewhat rustic restaurant, this is the place for you. We have also ordered online and had it delivered, great too

Sitting outside, there were a few mosquitoes, but the meat was delicious. There is also salad. This is a long-established restaurant dating back to 1966. It has a very authentic taste. At the end, we also give you a glass of wine, which is very attentive.

A hidden gem near the center of Berlin! The food was fresh and the restaurant was very clean. Berlin isn't known for having a ton of traditional German food, so try some food from their strong immigrant history. Gibe this place a try!

I stopped in there at the beginning of the week. The restaurant is in Berlin Kreuzberg, near the Mehringdamm subway station. I ordered the small portion of Pljeskavica, filled with sheep's cheese, with a side of white beans. There was also a small starter salad and spicy onions. (see attached photos) The food tasted very good, the staff was absolutely friendly and attentive, I had nothing to complain about. If I'm in the area again, I'll definitely stop there again.

On first glance it doesnt look like anything special but the food is amaizing. The seafood tasted very fresh and there were vegan options for traditional croatian foods. There were many options for sides and a salad was included in the price!

The only thing that made me rate 3 stars was the flies and mosquitoes! The flies were everywhere! In my glass of wine, on the food, in my face, everywhere! I don't know how they got there but there were thousands of them! Other than that, the food and service there was great. We had a mixed dish where we could try all kinds of steaks and all of them were well made and delicious. The waiter did a really good job on suggesting and explaining the menu that I liked a lot.

One of the best restaurants in Berlin. Our favorite restaurant since 1986 was yesterday June 3rd, 2024 and I was looking forward to eating. I ordered an extra large potpberry platter from the splittgrill. My disappointment was very big. Servi a normal platter two years ago. There is less meat, less salad. A few handfuls of fries cevapcici were missing. Either you leave this portion as is and you increase the price but not both prices increase something like that doesn't work and I've been there for over 40 years now never again

Unfortunately, the quality of the dishes is no longer as good as it used to be and the price is not at all justified! A pity! The portions are pretty small! Fries were extremely sticky and the meat wasn't fresh!

I could summarize Split like this: You get what you expect - hearty, honest cuisine without any frills! Had the potpourri grill plate and my child had the children's grill plate. Products were good, fries were crispy, chops were completely okay and my child - like me - raved about the Cevapcici! Nice service, nice atmosphere on the terrace and an aperitif and lollipop as a farewell greeting! It's understandable why the restaurant has been around for so long!

The Split has been in Kreuzberg for more than 50 years and is part of the soul of the district. We've been going to Split every now and then for years. The service is very good, as is the food. Even on public holidays you will receive good and friendly service. It's worth making a reservation here. The prices are fair and there are vegetarian dishes as well as dishes for children. We recommend!
