We've been regulars here from the start - not just because of the delicious food, but also because of the entire ambience: friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere, quiet, unobtrusive music, beautiful location in the old building - this is where the soul comes to rest. Every few months a new menu comes out with new culinary delights, the wine list is more than appealing, the cocktails are top... and they accommodate special requests, like when we were there with our niece, who is vegan. Anyone who leaves here dissatisfied is probably one of those people who expect the largest buffet possible for as little money as possible - which, however, has little to do with the concept of fusion cuisine. In short: TOP restaurant for sophisticated demands.

An evening at Spices 1822 is like a trip back to the Roaring 20s, refined with a modern culinary touch! The stylish, nostalgic atmosphere with its flair from the Roaring Twenties gives the evening the feeling of a little journey back in time. The pumpkin risotto I enjoyed was not just a dish but a true experience. The gently sweet pumpkin notes were perfectly wrapped in a creamy risotto - a homage to autumn and enjoyment at the same time. The ambience at Spices 1822 exudes elegance and charm, as if you were dining in an elegant 1920s salon, surrounded by dim lighting and warm colors that invite you to linger. The attention to detail is evident here not only in the decor, but also in the service: the team is attentive, warm and almost reads your wishes from your eyes without seeming intrusive. The food was delicious. Unfortunately the service wasn't that good. After 20 minutes we were asked what drinks we wanted. Unfortunately, this continued throughout the evening as the service wasn't very attentive.

It's a wonderfully decorated "old" pub that now has a special charm. The food was great! There were four of us and we were all very satisfied. Unfortunately there were only a few guests there. So Mülheim, make an effort to ensure that this wonderful restaurant remains.

The first impression of the restaurant may be a bit vague, but that's okay. And there are definitely no irritations when it comes to food and service. Absolutely impeccable. Delicious food, we had three courses each. And a very nice service. Gladly again! We really liked it.

Hello Mülheimer, if you don't want to sink into the schitzel, steak and pizza swamp, then visit this restaurant. It's different and that's a good thing. Have the courage and enjoy the cuisine and the ambience before it's too late. Unfortunately, the creative minds could leave because there are no such people in this city. It would be a shame and a loss!

My wife and I have been visiting the "Spices 1822" restaurant in Mülheim regularly since it opened and are very satisfied regular customers. As soon as we enter the restaurant, we always feel welcomed by the warm and inviting atmosphere. The tasteful interior and the loving decoration create a special atmosphere that always makes your stay a pleasure. The dishes are exceptionally delicious and creatively prepared. The fresh, high-quality ingredients and the sophisticated spice combinations make the meal a real culinary delight. It's obvious that the kitchen places great emphasis on details and the presentation of the food. To drink, we often enjoy the hand-picked wines and excellent cocktails from the extensive cocktail menu. The wine selection is excellent and complements the food perfectly. The cocktails are creative, balanced and a real pleasure. The service at Spices 1822 is impeccable. The staff is always attentive, friendly and helpful. Our questions about the dishes and drinks are answered competently and we feel well looked after. Overall, we can highly recommend the “Spices 1822”. We were completely impressed by the combination of excellent food, attractive ambience and first-class service. We look forward to trying more delicacies from the creative cuisine of this wonderful restaurant. A note for those interested: The "Spices 1822" is open from Wednesday to Sunday.

The service was very attentive and friendly, the ambience was nice. When it came to food, there were sometimes big differences in the quality of preparation. While the salad with corn-fed chicken was extremely tasty in terms of taste (10/10 points), the beef steak with couscous and some steamed vegetables as a side dish was rather disappointing (4/10 points). The beef steak had hardly any taste of its own and had a slight hint of game meat afterwards, which left me a bit perplexed as you wouldn't expect that from a beef steak. The couscous had a mushy consistency that felt disgusting in the mouth. Here the couscous could have been left on the cooking surface for at least 5 minutes longer. Overall 3/5 stars.

Nice ambience that is a good mix of modern and classic. The host is very friendly and has good recommendations. The menu reads very well and is even better executed. Cocktails are outstanding! Definitely a recommendation and above all a restaurant/bar that stands out from the mainstream.

Another insider tip! Spices 1822 formerly Baguetterie on Duisburger Straße, near Broich Castle! Incredibly delicious food! Vegetarians will love it too! The best cocktails in town!

I'm just here via Gmaps and wanted to check out the crepe & baguette... I'm afraid I have to say it's a shame that it's no longer available... but your colorful dishes look nice... I'd like to try some of them. ...but boy, your facility is wild. The black marbled stone table tops cannot be overlooked in the pictures here. Real chairs and less decorative stills would do the rooms good. As I said, I still have the c&b store in mind. Maybe I'm a little biased and maybe I want something that just doesn't exist anymore... but now it doesn't look good in my eyes. The old tiles in front of the cocktail bar could have been removed. Unfortunately, the arched window mirrors are also somehow strange. You should have partially adopted the old seating. Now the decorative chick isn't doing your kitchen any favors. I wish you all the best and don't want to say anything bad that I don't know personally. This is a nice old shop with potential for the future. But style has to get better. LG

We had a few drinks here last Friday evening after the Siegfried and Joy performance. My girlfriend's cocktail was very tasty (my wheat anyway). Friendly owner, good music. It's that we live in the Netherlands, otherwise we would come here more often. We recommend!

We , My Husband and I ,had a chance to Celebrate our 13th Wedding Anniversary in this wonderful Restaurant. The Ambiance is amazing, choice of Music, and the Food is delicious ! We were there for the first time last night. The reservation a few hours earlier worked great. We received a very polite and warm welcome and it stayed that way until the end. The menu features selected, well-thought-out dishes. In total we had 3 dishes + greetings from the kitchen and EVERYTHING tasted EXCELLENT. A really very fine cuisine! The selection of wines and other drinks is also great. We had a wonderful evening. The next table is already reserved. We look forward to more evenings in this restaurant.

AN EXPERIENCE! We were invited by friends in Mülheim who had chosen this lovely little restaurant as their favorite place. And it was really an experience! The two brothers who run the place are simply wonderful. Hospitable beyond measure and the food is a delight. A small, fine menu and ingredients that are difficult to find anywhere else. Das Spices 1822 besticht durch eine besondere Atmosphäre, die sowohl dem Restaurant, als auch der Cocktaillounge gerecht und durch die tolle Musikauswahl stimmig abgerundet wird. Das Hauptgericht (Lachs) war sowohl geschmacklich, als auch vom Garpunkt einwandfrei. Die meinerseits geäusserte Kritik an der Vorspeise, wurde kundenorientiert- konstruktiv aufgenommen. Der von mir probierte alkoholfreie "Missionary" schmeckte toll- und entsprach meinen geschmacklichen Vorlieben, welche im Vorfeld erfragt wurden. Der Service zeigte sich insgesamt sehr aufmerksam, ebenso freundlich und absolut engagiert. Schön, dass die Mülheimer Gastroszene durch Euch bereichert wird!

Ich sag's ganz kurz: Wer hier nicht hingeht, ist selber schuld. Einfachste Zutaten spannend kombiniert und handwerklich einwandfrei zubereitet ohne Schischi. Kein Großartiges um den Kern der Sache herumscharwenzeln, stattdessen raffinierte Gerichte, die toll und ungewohnt schmecken. Ganz klare Empfehlung, die sogar eine kleine Anreise rechtfertigt

Wir haben mit unserer Familie einen schönen Abend verbracht. Die Weine und Cocktails waren ausgezeichnet. Spontan haben wir uns für einige Vorspeisen entschieden, die uns sehr geschmeckt haben. Der Besitzer war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Wir werden sicherlich wieder kommen und freuen uns, dass Mülheim jetzt so ein schönes Lokal hat!

Der Zufallsfund vorm Besuch im Ringlokschuppen entpuppte sich als wahrer Glücksfall. Wirklich hervorragendes Essen, sowohl Vor- als auch Hauptspeise. Leckere, frisch selbstgemachte Limonade und Cocktails in passendem Ambiente haben den Besuch perfekt abgerundet. Erfreulich war auch der Blick auf die Schlussrechnung, für die Qualität und Portionsgröße absolut fair. Der Inhaber bedient selbst und man merkt im Gespräch, dass er richtig Lust auf das hat, was er tut. Wir werden definitiv nicht das letzte Mal dort gewesen sein.

Hier hat der Name Spices 1822 seine Berechtigung . Ausgewogen und iteressant zusammengestellte Gerichte. Hier wird der Gaumen richtig gekitzelt. Cocktails sind auf einer Scala bis 10, eine 10 mit *. Netter persönlicher Service und auch den Koch durfte ich kennen lernen. Vielen Dank für das gelungene Mahl und erstklassige Getränke, auf bald.

Ich war mega beeindruckt von der Location und möchte dort unbedingt nochmal hin. Danke, dass ihr bei der kulinarischen Schnitzeljagd im Juni 2023 teilgenommen habt und ich euch dadurch kennengelernt habe.

Haben mit 18 Leuten unsere Silberhochzeit dort gefeiert. Vom ersten Gespräch bis zur Feier alles sehr gut gelaufen. Die beiden Inhaber sind super freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Essen war unheimlich lecker und der Service gut .Der Kaffee ist spitze und es gibt viele ausgefallene Drinks. Wir kommen gerne wieder :-)

Das Essen hat ein sehr gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis und die Weinkarte ist sehr reich bestückt. Ich war schon des Öfteren dort essen, auch Mittags. Der wechselnde Mittagstisch ist zu empfehlen. Ich habe dort auch schon zwei Familienfeiern abgehalten. Und auch die Cocktails an der Bar sind empfehlenswert.

Wir hatten das Omlet und das French Toast, was beides sehr lecker war. Darüber hinaus ist auch noch der Cappuccino sehr zu empfehlen.

Ich bin nach den ersten Besuchen schon süchtig nach den Cocktails, die sehr kreativ und außergewöhnlich gemixt werden.

Wir haben einen sehr schönen Abend hier verbracht: Die Gerichte der kleinen, aber feinen Karte waren ohne Einschränkung sehr gut, eine große Weinauswahl lässt keine Wünsche offen, ein aufmerksamer und freundlicher Service verbreitet Wohlfühlatmosphäre - ebenso wie das geschmackvolle Interieur.

Es war sehr gut, Speisen, Getränke und Bedienung ..... einfach nur klasse.
