The sweetest and most genuinely caring people I have ever encountered in a restaurant. We felt very comfortable and the food was very tasty. We come from Freiburg and felt very welcome when we visited the restaurant.

I have been a regular customer for many years. In my opinion the best kebab shop in Mainz. The kebab is juicy, crispy and fresh and the ratio of meat to salad is also perfect. My insider tip as a starter is the delicious chicken soup. I order them every time I visit.

I haven't tried it yet but I'm sure Turkish yolk is not a dish but a matter of time and history, I will try to reach your restaurant.

The three of us went here for dinner last Saturday. I ordered an Iskender. The plate was beautifully prepared. Unfortunately, after trying it once, I discovered that there was a fly in my food. Because both other people lost their appetite after seeing it and couldn't eat any more, but they still had to pay. Which I find unsuitable after such an incident. I didn't have to pay for my food or drinks. The boss also brought me a dessert as an apology, but I didn't want it. Just a shame.

They didn't want to seat us at a 4 person table because there were only three of us. Instead, they wanted to sit us at a table on the side of the road that had four chairs but was actually intended for two people. Other guests had no problem sitting at 4-person tables even though there were only two of them, but for us it suddenly became a problem. The staff and the manager, who was supposedly the management, were very rude and spoke Turkish poorly. When we complained they didn't even apologize. These supposedly Turkish operators were ruder than rude Germans and far removed from any Turkish culture. May God grant them decency because they completely lack politeness. Restaurantta oturmak isedigimiz 4 kisilik masaya , 3 kisiyiz diye oturtmak isemediler. Yol kenarında 2 kişilik masaya konan 4 sandalyeli yere oturtmak istediler. Diger müşterilere 4 kişilik masalarda oturuken, 2 kişi ptoblem değil de bize gelince mi sorun. Kaba saba Türkçesi kötü personnel and yönetici ya patronun fırcasını yedik. Oturmak istediğimizde özür bile dilemediler. Kaba Almanlardan daha kaba, Türk kültüründen uzak Türk işletmesi . Allah does not need anything, görgü de cabası.

The waiter was extremely unfriendly. The kebab only had lumps of fat and was not appetizing at all. Not recommended!

The ambience is quite fine, chic area However, the food wasn't the burner I came from Cologne to break iftar there because I was busy in the area So the kebab plate was bad, a kebab as thin as my credit card, the taste was 1/10 Salad strange aftertaste 2/10 Rice is ok, you can make it 6/10 Fries 7-8/10 Bread was forgotten and the fries arrived 20 minutes late The waiters are okay but unfortunately I'm spoken to in Turkish, but I'm not a Turk but an Albanian and they should change that not only there but in every restaurant just as normal in German and that's fine So with such a good situation I expected more. Don't take the criticism personally but work on it and grow beyond yourself This is an honest and well-intentioned review so make something of it

The kebab was not fully cooked, and they also bring pita bread instead of lavash to accompany the kebab.

I spontaneously went to Sofra with a friend at 10:45 p.m. on a Tuesday after going to the cinema. I was afraid that the kitchen was already closed - but it wasn't. The service was very polite and the lentil soup was also very tasty. The ambience is pleasant with the high armchairs. We shared a starter with eggplant, tomatoes, oil and bread, which also tasted good. If I'm out and about in Mainz again in the evening, I know I can get something to eat there.

Food poisoning after a plate of kebab!!! never again!

A taste experience of Turkish cuisine that you cannot find everywhere in Mainz. Extremely warm welcome and no long waiting times. Recommended!!! If the way to Mainz suggests a visit here, then begin the journey home.

We've been eating here for over 20 years. From the kebab to the daily specials, everything is delicious. The ambience is good and the service is outstanding. Very very friendly staff! 5/5

The restaurant is nicely decorated. There is a good selection of delicious dishes. The underground car park offers parking options. The service is friendly, but could be trained a little better in dealing with customer feedback. My parents and I ordered lahmacun. The dough was ideal, but the topping was lacking. There was more pepper or tomato paste than minced meat on the lahmacun. We gave feedback to the service about possible improvements, but they laughed it away. Unfortunately, for the price of €6, the price-performance ratio is not good.

Went out for a dinner with a colleague and he recommended this restaurant. My colleague did the order and we had a delicious starter with a Borek with salad and a sauce. For the main course we had Iskender Kebap and the whole meal tasted like authentic Turkish food. It’s not easy to find a nice place with good Turkish food but this could be recommended. Will definitely be back for more dinners here next time I am in Mainz.

The workers here are really busy talking as if they were the ones on crack, none of them had any meat, it was too hard, the bread was hard

Sehr gutes Essen und schneller, freundlicher Service. Wir waren zum ersten mal da (auf Empfehlung), kommen aber mit Sicherheit wieder.

Essen schmeckt gut, aber leider sind die Portionen für den Preis sehr klein.

Bestes türkisches Restaurant in Mainz und Umgebung, dass ich kenne! Alle total nett, und alles super lecker. Manchmal bekommt man da einen Tee gratis, was ich sehr wertschätze. Gehe hier regelmäßig abends nach dem Training hin, um mir meinen Döner zu kaufen. Sehr empfehlenswert!

Ich bin hier Stammkunde und bin jeden zweiten Abend zum Abendessen dort, ich bekomme jedesmal gratis Tee oder Kaffee! Das hausgemachte Essen ist dort abwechslungsreich und schmeckt einfach wie in der Heimat! Ich bin sicher das ich alles auf der Speisekarte schon gegessen habe und wirklich alles hat bestens geschmeckt. Macht weiter so!!

Simply the best Adana kebab in Mainz!

Für das, was auf den Teller kommt, sind die Preise zu hoch. Viel zu wenig Fleisch, Salat war nicht frisch und zu sehr geölt. Soße war ziemlich einfach/schwach gemacht und von dieser gab es für den gesamten Teller, nur eine und die in der Mc‘s Größe. Fleisch und Pommes/Reis haben durschnittlich bzw. gut geschmeckt, Salat aus oben genannten Gründen nicht. 100 prozentig satt wird man auch nicht. Das Essen kommt auf einem Holzbrett, hygienisch etwas fragwürdig. Die Location ist sehr schön direkt am Rhein. Mitarbeiter waren alle nett und haben oft nach Feedback und offenen Wünschen gefragt. Es gibt keine weiblichen Mitarbeiter, das könnte man vielleicht ändern. Es ist das einzige türkische Restaurant in Mainz. Ich denke, dass sie sich zu sehr auf dieser Monopolstellung und der wirklich mega Ambiente/Lage ausruhen und daher sich erlauben die Qualität zu vernachlässigen. Es sollte sich mehr Mühe gegeben werden, denn das Potential ist eigentlich recht hoch.

Rhein-Main gebiet alle bester Essen, besonderes Dönner. Nettes Personal und schbnelles Service. Gern immer wieder kommen, und weiter empfelen.

Das Essen ist unglaublich gut und sehr authentisch. Der Service ist ausgezeichnet. Das ganze Personal ist mit Herz bei der Sache und kümmert sich sofort um jedes Anliegen. Sehr Schwach. Wir kommen nicht wieder. Weder Qualität noch Zubereitung konnten überzeugen. Jede Tiefkühlpizza ist besser. Kaltes rohes Dönerfleisch. Matschiges Brot. Ideenloser Salat. Geizige Zubereitung. +1 Stern für Servicepersonal ist freundlich aber fehl am Platz.

Sehr gutes Essen zu sehr fairem Preis! Mein Erlebnis bei Sofra war ein ausgesprochen gutes. Das türkische Essen war unglaublich lecker, das Dessert war nicht von dieser Welt und die Bedienung war sehr freundlich. Umso erstaunter war ich über den Preis, der bei gerade einmal 15€ pro Person lag. Alles in allem eine echte Empfehlung für alle, die in Mainz gut essen wollen.

We'd just walked 12 km along the Rhine and were looking for somewhere to eat when we came across this restaurant. The waiter was attentative, they didn't mind the dog (we ate outside) and we were served pretty quickly. We had a Falafel sandwich and the mixed grill plus 2 drinks, drinks were quick and the food didn't take too long after to be served. You can actually see into the food prep area which I like and everything looked clean. The size of the portions was ample, I gave my wife some of the meat from the mixed grill and even then I struggled a bit to finish off the meal. It was all tasty and nicely laid out but the best thing is that with drinks and a tip it came to 30 Euros. I mean, how much is a Dominoes Pizza now? A standard Pfalzich meal of Bratwirst and Sauerkraut with a slice of brown bread is about that price and this was far superior. You have to remember though that this is a genuine Turkish restaurant, there is no alchohol on the menu.

Der Iskender hatte wenig Geschmack, sowohl die Sauce als auch das Fleisch. Wenn überhaupt als 08/15 zu bezeichnen. Es gibt nur Kalb/ Putenfleisch gemischt. Wenig Auswahl an Saucen zum Döner. Schade

Also zunächst verstehe ich hier die guten Bewertungen nicht. Das Iskender war mit nichts besonderes, Joghurt war wohl leer gewesen, 2 winzige Kleckse waren drauf. Die Linsensuppe war ok. Dann hatten wir zum mitnehmen noch ein Börek mit Hackfleisch, es war steinhart u ungenießbar(4,50€) ist dann auch in der Tonne gelandet. Wenigstens das Schiffchen war frisch zubereitet aber leider winzig (6,50€) Also wenn man mal ‚schlecht türkische‘ essen gehen will dann ab ins Sofra im Malakoff. Dann lieber nach Wiedbaden ins Harput Restaurant ;)

NO recomendado en absoluto. Pedí agua y me dijeron que habían embotellado y agua del grifo. Le dije que iría a buscar agua del grifo, que sería gratuita como en cualquier otro lugar al que vaya. Bueno, terminaron cobrándome 2 euros por un VASO de agua. Entonces pregunté cuál era la diferencia y dijeron que no hay diferencia en el precio entre el embotellado y el grifo y tampoco con ninguna otra bebida. De todos modos, siéntete robado, 2 euros por un vaso de agua donde un Durum ya tiene 4 es una locura. Además, la comida estaba bien, pero nada especial. Primera y última vez que voy allí

Fast service, with full attention to the guest. We had soup from lentils, kebab plate and sweet baklava. The lentils soup was not the best but good for a price, nice fresh bread was served 2 time, main course was small but the meat and chips were good quality, baklava also not the best in the town as it was little hit dry and hard.

We enjoyed our lunch in this restaurant very much. Service was fast, waiters friendly and food excellent. I can truly recommend.

Bedienung war aufmerksam und das Speisenangebot und die Aufmachung sind für einen "Dönerladen" bemerkenswert.

Wir haben uns mit Freunden zum Fastenbrechen hier verabredet und fanden alles soweit ganz gut. Das essen kam pünktlich und hat super lecker geschmeckt. Das Service Personal war stets bemüht und freundlich. Das einzige was etwas störte war der Kollege am neben Tisch der die erste Zigarette des Tages kaum abwarten konnte und direkt sich eine anzündete während alle noch am essen waren. Alles in allem fand ich den Besuch des Restaurants sehr angenehm und lecker. Weiter so!

Heute Mittag war ich von einem Geschäftsfreund in dieses Lokal eingeladen. Da er dort bekannt war wurden wir besonders freundlich begrüßt. Das individuell zusammen gestellte Essen war sehr gut.

Wie zuhause wird Man schon beim 2 Besuch begrüßt. Sehr herzlich und die Döner sind hervorragend sowie die anderen türkischen Spezialitäten
