Shoya Izakaya in München

Shoya am Platzl was always my favorite when it came to ramen in Munich. I originally came here for the sushi and happened to try the ramen at some point. Unfortunately I have to say that the taste has deteriorated a bit. The Wagyu Ramen in particular was the highlight for me, but now you get two larger pieces of Wagyu with the ramen, which used to be nice bite-sized pieces. With Aperol you could also fill the glass a little more, as a white wine glass was only half full. The edamame was a little overcooked and the spiciness of the dishes was generally very mild. - maybe it's complaining at a high level! It's a shame, it was always a very good shop, of course the taste isn't bad, but it was just better.

Was not impressed, no bar seating in an izakaya and mediocre food. Also the service person was very rude, looked like a native Japanese so pretty surprising as a multi-time visitor to Japan. Will not return.

Rolls was bad, cocktails also. I don't know how people can damage aperol and mai tai 🤯😳

Very tasty sashimi bowl, kimchi a bit bland. Went there the week after the reopening and were thrilled with the food and service. However, for €26.9 I wouldn't have expected anything else

The best place in Munich to enjoy Japanese cuisine. The diversity of the menu is pleasing. Price = quality

I had udon soup with vegetables and mushrooms. Nothing special, super basic food. Very touristy, nothing like good food.

It used to be the best ramen in Munich. But now it's just poor quality. The owner has probably changed and it shows. We've been there many times to eat, but after the fiasco we won't be going there in the future.

Food actually has a good flavor, we had some sushi and sesami and ramen.

A Japanese person used to run the shop, but it closed around October 2023 (?). There may not be any Japanese people in the store after 2024. The menu is also likely to be different from previous ones.

Gyoza were ok. The Karagee chicken wasn't fried enough, not crispy at all. Ramen broth and noodles was ok too, but it came with just a straightup hardboiled egg, and the Chashu was more like a piece of Sauerbraten. Not very pleasant. The japanese curry was very good though (and the katsu was deep fried properly and crispy). So a bit of a mixed bag, but certainly not outstanding. More a bit disappointing. The sign did say 'reopening', so perhaps the quality differs from earlier reviews.

Gyoza were delicious, Wagyu was also tasty and came quickly, so no long waiting times. The interior was also very comfortable

The ramen from Izakaya didn't really pick me up, unfortunately the ramen had little bite and was overcooked!! Maybe you could have put more thought into the topping choice. The egg was also absolutely overcooked and unfortunately not a pickled egg, which is what you might expect with authentic ramen.

Ended up there by chance. The ramen was very good. Likewise the various starters. However, the waiter was very rude which spoiled the overall experience.

Guter Auswahl, qualitativ hochwertig!

Shoya Japanese Restaurant exceeded my expectations when I tried their Wagyu Ramen. The tender slices of Wagyu beef literally melted in your mouth and added incredible depth to the smoky broth. The noodles were perfectly cooked and the salty broth complemented the umami-rich meat. The authentic atmosphere of the restaurant made the meal even more enjoyable. An absolute must for ramen lovers and foodies! Deserved 5 out of 5 stars!

Unfortunately, we don't seem to have had a good day—a Friday evening. What we wanted was out—one of the main courses was Wagyu beef, what we ordered was cold and some of it wasn't really tasty. The service was very curt. The restaurant was pretty empty, but they still had a hard time giving us a table without a reservation (over the course of the evening there were only 4 more people in the restaurant). Unfortunately no authentic Japanese cuisine. A pity.

Very good ramen and I would say the best ramen I have eaten in Munich so far and at a fair price too. The sushi and other Japanese dishes also looked very good. Come back soon to try the other dishes!

Very impressive Ramen performance, I would even go as far to say that this is the best Ramen in MUC for me. Tonkotsu Ramen and Wagyu Shoyu Ramen were both delicious, the broth was very good (a bit salty), the meat was tender and the noodles were chewy. The portions were also big enough. About the minor downsides: the egg was not (or barely) marinated and the drinks were filled with way too much ice, you are better off without any. Aside from the Ramen and drinks, the rest of the menu (e.g. 9€ for 3 chicken pieces) was a bit expensive (which is understandable I guess given the location). The waiter was quite knowledgable about the food and attended us nicely.

Good food ä! The sushi platter for two was really top👌😋and sweet, friendly service on top😊 The Tonkotsu Ramen 🍜 should be No.1 in Munich...the soup and chashu were really good🥰 but personally I think AOI's is better😬

Really good Ramen and fried chicken. Tried the Spicy Ramen and fried chicken, both did not disappoint, good portions for the price and it's located in a good location. Not sure why the lower floor dining was closed as the upper floor seating is quite limited.

New chef be here, the food are really tasty. We had Kobe beef and tempura rice bowl and miso Char Siu Ramen, together with fire chicken. No disappointed. The service is also nice. But the opening time is limited.

War nicht gut. Ramen war sehr salzig, fehlte das Ei. Es hatte nur 3 super dünne kleine Fleischscheiben. Wagyu Don war bland und langweilig. Karaage war okay. Qualität hat leider nachgelassen. Wir würden nicht mehr kommen und weiterempfehlen.

I like this simple taste ramen, new type in EU

Mit Abstand eines der besten Sushis in München und Umgebung. Die Auswahl ist gigantisch und die selbstgemachten Mayos und Saucen zu den Sushi sind genial. Sehr empfehlenswert sind die frittierten Röllchen und viele von den Besonderen / Special Rolls. Preislich zählt man dieser Qualität, aber das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist immer noch mehr als gegeben. Für derart gutes Sushi zahlt man einfach gerne.

Der Kellner ist eher grobschlächtig und wortkarg . Passt eher in einen Burgerimbiss. Ob's geschmeckt hat interessiert ihn wenig. Und nach dem Bezahlen ein "auf Wiedersehen" oder Ähnliches ist auch zu viel verlangt. Das Chicken Teriyaki war sehr lecker und zart und durch die Größe der Portion vergleichsweise günstig. Das Sushi war auch gut und frisch. Etwas gegeizt wurde beim Ingwer. Man kann hier noch einmal herkommen, war jetzt aber auch kein Highlight, da es genug gute Sushi Lokale in München gibt, bei denen die Qualität und der Preis stimmt aber dem Gast mehr Aufmerksamkeit geschenkt wird.

Nice and seemingly authentic Japanese restaurant directly on Platzl. A lot of Japanese people eating there. We had some fab sushi and chicken. Why not 5 star? Service kind of slowish. But will come back. Great!

Very authentic Japanese foods served by Japanese. Went there with my family, it really warmed up our tummy with really very good Ramen, the beef with eggs on top of rice was fantastic too. Service was courteous n fast. Very glad to find tis restaurants in Germany.

К сожалению не понравилось Заказли суши с авокадо, а принесли с огурцами, потому что не было авокадо.. Но и посчитали по цене с авокадо. Chicken teriyaki оооочень солениые и в меню написано что с картофель пюре, но подали вместе с süß Kartoffeln. Много блюд из меню к сожалению тоже не было

Nice ambiance. Ramen was delicious. Definitely visit again.
