We decided to have dinner here at short notice on one of the last summer evenings. We were lucky and got a table on the terrace. The food was delicious, and we felt very well looked after by the staff. The restaurant is located on Dießen's beautiful promenade, ideal for a digestive stroll. On Fridays, there's always music playing, which adds a special Bavarian atmosphere to the visit.

Once again, we drove from the Allgäu to the inn and were not disappointed. We sat outside in the shade and enjoyed our meals: The cordon bleu and a salad with char. The food was freshly prepared and very well seasoned. And the service staff and chef were very attentive. Thank you for the perfect lunch, see you next time.

Very good food with a great view of Lake Ammersee or a traditional Bavarian-style lounge. The prices are quite reasonable, but the beer garden is also quite good. Dogs are also very welcome, and upon request, they'll be provided with a clean bowl of fresh water.

Wir wollten heute dort zu Mittag essen. Auf Grund der lauten Musik im Lokal und auf dem Balkon sind wir wieder gegangen. Zu den Speisen und dem Service können wir daher nichts sagen.

Our dogs were given water immediately. Friendly service and good food. My only criticism: the portion of cheese spaetzle was tasty but relatively small. I wasn't full. Otherwise, everything was excellent.

The location is lovely, right on Lake Ammersee. There's a terrace and beer garden. Parking is available behind the house. The food is solid, and the service is friendly. The food arrived very quickly.

We were back after many years of absence and under new tenants. The ambiance by the lake was naturally beautiful, the service friendly. On Sunday evening there were 5 tables occupied. The menu and selection is very limited, but there should be something for everyone. We had roast pork and Kässpatzen. The price/performance ratio is not right at all. The Kässpatzen were totally tasteless, the portions small and overpriced. The roast pork was very fatty, the dumplings small, the sauce loose. We used to like going there often - I don't need to go there anymore. The complaint was met with "They should have said this earlier, pass it on to the kitchen" - that was it - no apology, no comment - the dissatisfied guest never comes again.

We had breakfast at the Seepost today. The breakfast menu is lovingly designed, and there's something for everyone. We had the eggs Benedict on country bread, which was excellent. The service was very attentive and courteous. The location right on the lake is, of course, top-notch, and the view from the terrace is breathtaking.

Started strong, but then unfortunately declined significantly!! Below is my review from about 3 years ago. The food is good, but not so good that you would necessarily come back. The menu has since thinned out considerably, the portions are extremely limited, and the prices are quite steep. Kasspatzen (cheese spaetzle) is €17.50, a Zwiebelrostbraten (onion roast beef) is €29, and a Cordon Bleu is also at the same price level. A bit much considering the portion sizes... what a shame. 1st review from 3 years ago Very tasty food in a pleasant atmosphere, including views of the lake and the Alps. The cuisine is extremely imaginative. Even traditional Bavarian standard dishes, such as meatballs with potato salad, are lovingly prepared in imaginative and surprising ways. Even if there is a touch of nouvelle cuisine here, the portions are sufficient and filling. The staff is very nice and extremely friendly. Even if you arrive on a Saturday evening without a reservation, you won't be greeted with the standard "No reservation?? Nothing available!!" but will be slapped down with the usual effort to find a spot. I hope it stays that way, even after this restaurant has become a real insider tip. The restaurant itself is very pleasantly situated on the western shore of Lake Ammersee under large trees. It's just across the street from the water and the boat dock, although you won't notice it, as the restaurant and the adjoining beer garden are slightly elevated, so you first have to climb a flight of stairs. Depending on where you sit, you can also enjoy a beautiful view of the Alps if the weather is good. We haven't tried the beer garden itself yet, so I can't comment on it at the moment, apart from the beautiful location. All in all, a highly recommended restaurant with good food and a pleasant atmosphere for a pleasant time.

The beer garden is beautifully located near the lake. But the self-service isn't recommended. The only difference between bratwurst and currywurst is the sauce; it's completely unacceptable. And you get the feeling the staff doesn't know what they're doing.

Wir waren spontan an einem Montag Mittag mit 7 Personen im Lokal essen. Der Wirt gab sich Mühe und unterzubringen. Es war gut besucht. Trotzdem wurden Speisen und Getränke zügig serviert. Ich hatte den Schweinebraten mit Klößen. Gute Portion und super knusprige Kruste. Die Sauce war super und ausreichend an der Menge. Das Wiener Schnitzel hatte eine ordentliche Größe. Allen hat es gut geschmeckt. Zum Lokal gehört ein großer Biergarten.

We spontaneously stopped by the restaurant for lunch on a Monday with six people, a small child, and a dog. The owner made an effort to accommodate us. It was busy. Nevertheless, the food and drinks were served promptly. The dining room was pleasant. I had the roast pork with dumplings. A good portion and a super crispy crust. The sauce was excellent and there was plenty of it. The Wiener Schnitzel was a decent size. Everyone enjoyed it. The restaurant has a large beer garden. We'd be happy to come back.

Gasthaus Seepost is a dream. The food is delicious - we particularly loved the seasonal Spargelcremesuppe - and the atmosphere is very welcoming. And then there is the lake of course. Highly highly recommend!

We were there for breakfast. The prices are absolutely outrageous for what you get! 13.70€ for a tight Max, which one would rather call Mäxchen. A mini slice of bread, a slice of ham, a fried egg and a few sprouts. According to the menu, it was supposed to come with stewed cherry tomatoes. There were 1 stewed mini tomatoes!! As a guest you really feel like you've been ripped off! The hearty breakfast consisted of a few slices of sausage, a cucumber, a radish and a small bread basket with four small slices of bread. No trace of butter anywhere. You would have had to order and pay for these separately! And that for 17€!!

Today we had dinner at the Seepost inn, My onion roast medium-rare with spaetzle was medium rare in one or two places, otherwise well-done but tasted very good. For the local high prices, it would have been nice to have more. We had a voucher that was about 7 months old, which, according to them, was no longer valid even though it was explicitly valid for 3 years. It was justified by a Pechter change, but this was not recognizable from the outside due to the same name etc. The voucher is for the Seepost at this address and that's where it is. Due to technical defects, no card payment was possible, which is a bit annoying in 2025. The ambience is excellent.

The Gasthaus Seepost is located directly on Lake Ammersee in a beautiful location a few meters from the Schondorf steamer pier. The inn itself is beautifully decorated and has a number of beautiful places inside and outside. The associated beer garden is shaded by large old chestnut trees and has a great view over the lake and the foothills of the Alps. We found a nice spot in the beer garden and grabbed something from the self-service area. Everything on offer was fresh and of good quality, tasted excellent and should be found in a Bavarian beer garden. Unfortunately, the portions were a bit too small for the price, and if you were self-service you might want to think about sharpening it up again. I know everything costs more these days, but the portions were still too small. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating and the place is wonderful for relaxing so you immediately feel at home. Unfortunately, there are only a few parking spaces for cars, so it can be a bit tight in summer. Nevertheless we will come back.

We stayed in Schondorf over Easter and were warmly welcomed at the Seepost on Friday. Then on Saturday we came to the beer garden and on Sunday again to the restaurant on the terrace with a view over the lake towards the Alps. As we learned, the lease only changed in February of this year and the new tenants are doing a very good job. Whatever came out of the kitchen was very attractively prepared and tasted excellent. We had the fried trout and the onion roast, as well as lamb rump and zander, and we enjoyed the smoked trout in the beer garden. However, I would particularly like to highlight the steamed dumpling. I haven't had one this good in decades and it brought back childhood memories. We would also like to send a warm greeting to the friendly and competent service. We were honestly delighted to visit you.

This was my first time back at the Seepost since the new owners took over, and I have to say it's simply fantastic. The staff is super, super friendly, very child-friendly, and the food is delicious and beautifully presented. We came all the way from Munich. The view of the lake is fantastic.

Unfortunately, sea mail has developed for the worse... Service by an older gentleman who was unfriendly and not particularly service-oriented. The portions were very small (it felt like 1 tablespoon of goulash with 1 tablespoon of sauce and 2 dumplings), consistently lukewarm and not very seasoned. We felt a little like we were eating leftovers... 2 points are given for the food because the "roast pork" had at least 2 pieces of meat with the two dumplings. Because of this negative experience, the Seepost won't see us again - there are better restaurants right on Lake Ammersee...

Great location right on Lake Ammersee. Very nice outdoor seating. But what good is a beautiful location if everything else isn't right? And here, everything is just right for me. We were at the reopening of the Seepost today. The service was very courteous and familiar. The food was very tasty, starting with the very tasty greeting from the kitchen, the Cordon Bleu, which was super juicy and tasted excellent, and the cheese dumplings, which were also totally convincing. We will definitely come back and try the rest of the menu!! Definitely a perfect spot for a trip and the beer garden with a direct view of the lake invites you to relax.

I don't know. I'm in, great rustic location but unfortunately not for spontaneous stops because they don't accept card payments. It's a shame, the location is great but you have to get in with the right speed - otherwise two people... one stays as a deposit, the other looks for an EC machine... it's a real shame. Wanted to eat and drink for three. We then ended up in Türkenfeld at the Unterwirt.

Very good restaurant. The menu is very clear, so I was surprised that the dishes were numerous with different combinations. My Wiener-style schnitzel with fries was fantastic, as was the ice cream sundae afterwards. The ambience is fantastic with the view of Lake Ammersee. In summer you can sit outside on the terrace facing the lake.

Today we spontaneously went to Seepost again for dinner and were very surprised by the excellent selection of food as well as the quality and good taste of the dishes. The schnitzel was super tasty, as was the onion roast. We ordered leek puree with the schnitzel (it was actually served with another dish), also a culinary delight 😋! All in all, everything was very tasty, nice service and the price/performance ratio was right 👍🏼
