Schützenhaus Bonlanden in Filderstadt

I had dinner with my Dutch friends and were pleasantly surprised by the good quality of the food! The landlord very friendly! Don't just rate a restaurant based on the food but everything around it. Sanitary area very clean! I can only hope that this place gets more attention! Henry

The food is great, the dining room is unfortunately a bit outdated and is half a children's playroom. The food is super delicious! Will definitely go there again.

We have been to the Schützenhaus in Bonlanden, which is located in the middle of the forest, several times and are always very satisfied with the food served and the very nice host couple. We were always greeted very friendly with a handshake and our dog was also welcome. We would like the host couple to have even more guests visit the Schützenhaus, they deserve it. We will come back - always with pleasure.

Actually 5 stars are not enough. The food easily deserves a 7. Regarding the ambience, of course, it's not a star restaurant but a shooting club. But the food is top class in terms of taste and craftsmanship. Homemade Maultaschen, great fried potatoes, spaetzle etc etc. Swabian classics at their best. And the curries are also great.

Top service, great food and fair prices

Very nice hosts, super polite! The food was delicious and a huge portion (you can have the rest packed up). Business is absolutely in “Nirvana”, totally idyllic on the edge of the forest. There is shooting from time to time, which is normal for the shooting club, but we sat in the garden with our dog and she didn't mind! (maybe not for timid dogs!) It's still worth eating there!!!!!! Recommended at any time.

...not just the food (incredibly delicious, as a vegetarian I've been very lucky on both visits so far), the service is incredibly friendly and warm, in the middle of the forest with a great beer garden - it's perfect, super comfortable opening hours... we will come back and look forward to it. The menu is large and offers very tasty dishes, including a great selection for vegetarians - my curry today was stunningly good.

We stopped here on our bike tour. The small outdoor area in the middle of the forest was very pleasant and quiet. The young man who served us was very nice, even if he seemed a bit uninterested. The owner is very nice. The menu is varied and there are enough dishes available. The food came quickly and was delicious. The only thing you should reconsider is the side salad. With iceberg lettuce, peppers and corn, it looks more like a song service. There is still a lot of room for improvement, especially if potato salad is on the menu. Then please also in the salad 👍🏻 Green salad, carrot, cucumber and coleslaw can also be prepared wonderfully. Then add a nice dressing and everything would be great. The portions were large and the prices for drinks were also reasonable. We would be happy to come back and can highly recommend the restaurant, despite the small deficiencies.

Here the boss cooks fresh food, is very friendly and the prices are really moderate. It wasn't the last time we were there. It's a shame that more guests don't go there. Is only recommended

Very nicely located in the forest. Very, very nice tenant, cook and service man in one person. The food is good, the portions are very large. The side salad, which mainly consists of iceberg lettuce with balsamic dressing, and the potato salad could be improved. Some of the potatoes weren't cooked through yet and, what's not possible, the potato salad was ice cold. We would definitely like to come back!

Delicious! Freshly prepared and when it’s not busy, it’s on the table super quickly! It took me less than 15 minutes and during that time I got the salad as a starter. Also fresh with delicious dressing. You will be served very friendly here by the boss himself who puts his heart and soul into it! Thank you very much 🙏

The best Cordon Bleu of my life and the curry is excellent. Furthermore, the quality of the rice alone is so good that you could eat it without sauce. The family that runs this gem is very friendly, open and approachable. Highly recommended!!!

Here the boss still cooks himself and, above all, freshly! Therefore, waiting times are to be expected for many guests. But the wait is definitely worth it. I was there twice and it was great. The boss understands Swabian cuisine perfectly, offers high quality dishes, makes e.g. B. Maultaschen and Spätzle himself, is super likeable and not a native Swabian. This deserves even more respect and recognition.

I have been a regular guest at the Schützenhaus since the new tenant, Samar, took over the location about a year ago. This is beautifully situated in the countryside, nestled by trees and in the background you can hear birds chirping and can enjoy the peace and quiet. The tenant is very friendly, the food is tasty and all dishes are prepared with fresh ingredients, I am very satisfied every time. His own creations of vegetarian dishes are also highly recommended and I have often enjoyed the homemade Rösti with fresh mushrooms. There are plenty of parking spaces and the Uhlberg Tower is just 10 minutes away on foot.

Delicious! The boss and his wife do everything themselves, they are very nice and the food is simply delicious. If you don't like something from a dish, he thinks about what else he can do with it. And if you like children you are in particularly good hands, his son is very sweet and runs around everywhere. Simply a great atmosphere

The food was absolutely great, cheers to the kitchen. Chef rarely serves and cooks such excellent food himself. Will come back when we are in the area again.

The host is absolutely convincing! Friendly, attentive and with esprit! The fact that, as an Afghan, he has a feel for the Swabian mentality is a lesson in integration and efficiency!

...We had a delicious meal today, freshly prepared food and a very friendly innkeeper...it's worth a visit, even on the terrace when the weather is nice

Unfortunately there was no more potato salad at the moment 😪, or it wasn't ready yet. 4 p.m. Alternatively, I opted for the Swabian sausage salad Decided on fried potatoes. Direct hit 😏. The potato salad doesn't run away from me 😃. There is guaranteed to be a next time.

Restaurant with a hunter atmosphere, the cuisine is excellent and plentiful. The cook is friendly and makes good dishes. The prices are correct. I can't wait to go back.

The innkeeper is a cook, innkeeper and service all rolled into one. This can not go well. You wait forever for something to drink and when you want to pay you have to go to the counter and ask for the bill. It's actually a shame for a beautiful location in the forest

Waiting, cooking, cashiering, the innkeeper currently does all of this alone. Hardly anyone gets lost in the rustic Schützenhaus. But you have to say, the food is top. From salad to roast roast, everything is fresh and good. It would be nice if he had more guests and could possibly hire a waiter.

Sehr leckeres Essen, besondere Wünsche werden ohne Probleme berücksichtigt. Der Wirt war total freundlich! Portionen waren ordentlich groß und der Geschmack war 1A. Wir kommen definitiv wieder!

Tolles kleines Plätzchen, welches angenehme Ruhe bietet. Waren eine Runde im Wald spazieren und haben ein Bier hier getrunken und die Ruhe genossen. Hervorzuheben ist die sehr freundliche Bedienung und das angenehme Ambiente, wir haben direkt ein sehr nettes Gespräch geführt und uns direkt wohl gefühlt. Schade dass wir noch keinen Hunger hatten, sonst hätten sicherlich auch eins der leckeren Gerichte von der Speisekarte geordert.

Essen ging,war nicht schlecht,kann man aber besser machen. Die Bedienung wollte noch den Tisch sauber machen, hat es aber dann wohl vergessen. Punkt Abzug. Das Ambiente ist schön.

Hervorragendes und immer frisch zubereitetes Essen. Sehr freundlicher und zuvorkommender Inhaber. Lage ist schön, in der Nähe der Kelter und des Uhlbergturms in Filderstadt. Lädt zu einem Verdauungsspatziergang ein. Wir empfehlen das Schützenhaus auf jeden Fall weiter.

Alles prima! Der Chef kocht persönlich und das wirklich sehr gut. Die Lage ist traumhaft schön und der Biergarten wirklich phantastisch schön.

Das Essen war sehr lecker zu normalen Preisen, das Bier ebenfalls. Der chef ist sehr freundlich, zuvorkommend und einfach sympathisch. Das Problem ist der Service. Die Bedienung kommt so alle 20min mal vorbei, die Getränke brauchen bei fast leerem biergarten ewig oder werden gar ganz vergessen. Freundlichkeit oder motivation wird leider auch nicht ausgestrahlt. Das kann das gute Essen leider nicht rein holen. Da man die Personal Probleme an dem Tag nicht kennt, evtl wurde ja jemand krank oder so und es muss halt laufen, da steckt man nicht immer drin, evtl hatten wir nur Pech an dem Tag. Ich werde auf jedenfall wieder kommen und hoffen, dass es besser wird. Eine 2. Chance hat der Chef auf jeden Fall verdient.

Heute 03.07.2023 zum ersten Mal durch Zufall da gewesen. Es war wenig los (Montag gegen 13.00 Uhr) waren ein wenig skeptisch! ABER DAS ESSEN IST SEHR LECKER!! Wir kommen wieder. Die Lage ist sehr schön und der Afghanische Besitzer (20 Jahre in Deutschland ) macht einen klasse Eindruck!! Viel Erfolg weiterhin

Sehr freundlicher Service und gutes Essen

Essen war sehr gut. Reichliche Portion. Chef und Service sehr freundlich. Uns hat ein bisschen gewundert, dass Samstag um 13 Uhr keine Gäste zum Essen da waren. Biergarten liegt schön im Wald. Vogelgezwitscher und wenn die Schützen da sind gibt's halt Gewehrschüsse. Gute Preisleistung.

Richtig leckeres Essen Service und Chef sind super .Chef persönlich nimmt sich Zeit um zufragen wegen essen machen .Alles super lecker gute Portionen immer wieder gerne dort essen .

Sagenhaft! Das Schützenhaus Bonlanden kann ich sehr empfehlen. Wir waren Sonntagnachmittags, ca. 14.15h dort, ( wenige Gäste ) freundliche Bedienungen, sehr schönes ruhiges Ambiente im Grünen bei Vogelgezwitscher vom Wald, sehr gutes, sehr reichhaltiges Essen zu einem preiswerten Preis ( im Gegensatz wo wir vorher schauten ). Preis-Leistungsverhältnis top! Kommen gerne wieder !! ❤️ Schöner Radlerausflug ins Grüne. Kaffee = 2 Euro

Das Schnitzel hat gut geschmeckt, leider war die Panade etwas hart . Der Service war leider nicht gut. Eine Bedienung für 40 Gäste. Haben eine Stunde auf das Essen warten müssen.

Der Biergarten liegt schön,könnte etwas mehr Liebe gebrauchen. Das Essen ist ok aber der Service ist viel zu langsam. Es sind viele Gäste ewig gesessen bis sie bedient worden sind. Da ist deutlich Luft nach oben. Da es eine Neueröffnung ist war es aber zu verschmerzen.

Mit 7 Personen haben wir Ende April das Schützenhaus mit dem neuen Gastwirt besucht. Es ist eine abgelegene Lage, aber es lohnt sich. Natur pur und großer Biergarten laden zum Entspannen und Verweilen ein :) Außergewöhnlich ist es heutzutage solche Freundlichkeit anzutreffen und das in Deutschland! Die Speisen werden frisch zubereitet und Sonderwünsche sind keine Herausforderung. Wir wünschen dem neuen Wirt viele nette Gäste und können es nur weiterempfehlen. Beste Grüße aus Esslingen ;))
