Schumann's in Bonn

A very nice restaurant with an outdoor terrace in Bonn's Südstadt district. The outdoor seating is very pleasant, and the service was friendly and attentive. The food and drinks were, without complaint, but unfortunately, significantly overpriced. At these prices, you shouldn't skimp on the cost of goods.

I've been to this restaurant many times and can recommend it with a clear conscience. In summer, you can also sit outside.

Dear Mo was in a good mood. Served us kindly and gave us excellent advice. The fish was excellent. The asparagus was crunchy like Mo :-). We were very satisfied and will come back.

Die Werbung für den ersten Spargel des Jahres lockte uns hier hin. Spargel und neue Kartoffeln schmeckten mit einer selbstgemachten holländischen Sauce köstlich. Auch der Fisch war auf den Punkt gebraten. Alles in allem eine eindeutige Empfehlung. Die Inhaberin des Restaurant's hatte auch noch Zeit für nette Worte.

The white wines offered there are great, we had the Riesling.

Really great restaurant in the middle of Bonn's Südstadt. The chef is really good and can cook!!! Excellent restaurant with fantastic service. The atmosphere in the interior has its own kind of cosiness. The small selection of dishes is an indicator of freshness that you could also taste. Perfectly staged scallops to start the evening are over The original Wiener Schnitzel consoled us, as did the great potato salad as a side dish. We really enjoyed the evening.

We were very satisfied all around. The service today was world class. Super friendly, our daughter was allowed to choose a coloring book behind the counter. Food was very good. The stuffed ravioli was excellent. Great children's plate. Schnitzel with fries was also very good. I was happy that I was allowed to eat the leftovers 😅

An absolutely lovely dinner dining experience. We ordered the schnitzel and tomato soup which came with a potato salad and also a platter of bread and a lovely sour type dip. The meal was delicious in every way. The schnitzel came with a berry jam like Lyndon berry jam and the breading was so crispy but light. It did not feel heavily fried or difficult to chew or digest as some schnitzels do. Definitely plan on coming again. This restaurant is on the pricier side, but it is well worth it for the quality and quickness of service and nice ambiance.

At Schumanns the cooking is very good and creative. The cuisine has a seasonal focus. The vegetarian dishes are also very good and not an embarrassing solution like in many other Bonn restaurants. The service is attentive, very friendly and on the ball. But at the same time not stiff. Under the striking, huge umbrella you can sit and enjoy outside, whether in the blazing sun or in the rain. The wines come in attractive glasses from Stoelzle and come from Eduardo Capurro, an experienced wine dealer from Brühl with a lot of expertise. Small criticism: There could be a little more open wines and sparkling wines.

If you haven't been here yet, it's your own fault - the restaurant right in the heart of the southern part of town is always a delight for the palate as well as the eyes. The ambience is also very appealing in the old building and on the terrace. Have fun with the visit.

Wir waren früher oft im Schumann‘s. Die Qualität ist drastisch zurückgegangen . Spargelsalat ohne Salz und Pfeffer aus dem Kühlschrank, Vinaigrette und Salz musste nachbestellt werden, da der Salat völlig geschmacklos war. Beim Wiener Schnitzel klebt die Panade am Fleisch, die Sauce beim Thai-Curry schmeckt wie aus der Kantine. Leider unser letzter Besuch. Kritik wurde diskret geäußert, trotz ca. 18 Euro Trinkeld nach einem Essen für 7 Personen , wurden danach für einen Espresso noch mal 2,5 Euro verlangt.

All in all ok, but nothing special. Price and performance are simply not in harmony, you expect more!

Service and ambience are good. I found the food to be an absolute disgrace. The two vegan schnitzels were lost on a large plate. Probably a convenience product and were dry and had hardly any taste. The potato cucumber salad in a small bowl was OK but nothing special. I was speechless at first for 25 euros I just expect more. I was in this restaurant for the first and last time

Highly Recommended! The three of us spontaneously ate at Schumann’s and were welcomed by the very friendly and attentive service. As a starter we had the tuna sashimi and the prawns “Spanish style”, the main course was the pink fried saddle of venison and the vegan schnitzel and the finale was a white chocolate soufflé. Every dish tasted excellent, was beautifully prepared and was worth every euro. The dessert was definitely one of the best desserts I have ever tasted. Added to this is the absolutely fair price for the quality offered, attractive location and top service. It won't be my last visit.

It was my first time here and I have to say it is beautiful. There are a few places outside where you can enjoy the mulled wine and inside it is cozy. The service is friendly and fast and the prices are okay. I myself had the truffled white veal Bolognese which tasted very good. Parking is not difficult either as there is usually something nearby. Ich war zum ersten mal nun hier und muss sagen schön ist es. Draußen hat man einige Plätze wo man gut den Glühwein genießen kann und drinnen ist es gemütlich. Der Service ist freundlich und schnell und die Preise okay. Ich selber hatte die Getrüffelte weiße Kalbsbolognese die sehr gut schmeckt. Das Parken fällt auch nicht schwer den meist ergibt sich was in der nähe. Ich freue mich und komme gerne wieder

Sehr tolles, zuvorkommendes Personal. Preise sind zwar im oberen Segment. Wenn man das Essen dort probiert, weiß man dass die Preise gerechtfertigt sind für diese Geschmackserlebnisse. Wir waren über 10 Personen mit wirklich verschiedenen Gerichten und jedem hat es außerordentlich geschmeckt.

Lovely garden patio setting, perfect for a long summer lunch. A little pricier than average but they do have daily specials during the week which are good value for lunch. Service was attentive and this was one of the only places in Germany they brought us tap water, for that alone I'll remember Schumann's!
