Good home cooking in a cozy environment. Great variation of the menu also for vegans or vegetarians. The best thing for me, however, are the delicacies from Bavarian cuisine. Simply comfortable! Always friendly service and good food!

I'm a regular with a third-generation jug, grandpa's jug, dad's now mine In September I had cream-roasted veal, which was gray and bitter, then went through. On Friday evening Palatinate with Kraut, Kraut was gray and cold, Palatinate lukewarm, My wife had original Viennese veal schnitzel, in four pieces, like children's schnitzel, the beer came warm 3 times, glasses warm, out of the dishwasher. Price increase totally excessive

We think it's great, be sure to reserve. Unfortunately, sometimes there is simply not enough staff. Reservations are never possible at short notice so you know there will always be a lot going on. Reordering or complaining is almost impossible. Last time my food was very dark and lukewarm, so the question arises, what now? People try very hard but can't share. Guest hungry and little time because the table has already been reserved again. And after that, a discussion is no longer of any use. Too bad! I love being there so much.

Good cuisine, fair prices, particularly recommended the butter biscuit cream as a dessert – a dream. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, reserving a table the day before was no problem.

This brings back memories of the good old days. They are the last of their guild. Nobody wants to work in the catering industry anymore. Please hold on. It was so beautiful.

For me the best pub in Amberg. I've been enjoying coming here for years. great value for money, great food, good portions. Very good quality of the food. I love the Tegernsee schnitzel! I also think it’s great that we’re “moving with the times” here. Not only is there always a seasonally adapted (daily) menu, but also various vegetarian and vegan dishes without getting boring, not just cheese spaetzle or oven-baked vegetables. You can also simply order something to take away. The service is good and friendly, sometimes you have to wait a bit due to the busyness. I think it would be great if it was possible to reserve tables online in the future, otherwise I'm looking forward to my next visit.

Very very tasty, friendly attentive service, good 🍻 and 🍷. Definitely try the Waldschrazl nightcap!!! It's best to reserve a seat, we didn't get a seat. The kitchen is open until 2 p.m. and then again from 5 p.m.

Went by spontaneously for lunch and got a table without a reservation. Next time I would definitely make a reservation as space is limited. The food was extremely tasty (veal sauerbraten with dumplings), the service was very friendly.

Most authentic inn in Amberg! Good food and beer at a fair price. The ambience is what you would expect from a pub. Since this is no secret, due to the high number of people, you have to allow for a little waiting time here and there for the food. But that again shows that the food is freshly cooked. Absolute recommendation!!!

Great food, buttery soft beef when roasted oxen. Food really at a very high level, one of the best beer gardens in Amberg. Price performance 6 stars, here the quality has been increased and the prices less so. Beautiful atmosphere in the beer garden, Service quick and friendly.

The wheel isn't being reinvented here, but the price-performance ratio is okay, just plain home-style cooking. The butter biscuit cream was very good, absolutely recommended, but I'm no longer sure whether it was only on the daily menu when I was there or regularly. The atmosphere is nice, the service was good, I was served by a very friendly woman originally from the Rhineland.

Beer garden, cozy courtyard. Service friendly, direct (but funny, unless you don't understand jokes). Wheat beer like beer met our taste exactly, it was Winkler beer. Cheese bread with beer with extra paprika spice.

I would give 10 points if I could. Great ambience, friendly service and the best food by far the best price-performance ratio in Amberg. Since I love curry sausage with fries, I can only recommend eating the delicious curry sausage there and best of all, the meal costs under 9€👍 That's an announcement, as otherwise more than 11€ is charged in Amberg city center.

Great inn. Super delicious food, everything is freshly prepared. Price performance is absolutely right. It was very crowded and only two waitresses. These were simply great. Very quick and attentive. Absolutely recommended.

Went there again today for our regulars' table. We were only contacted by the waitress after our table, which had been reserved a month ago, was simply given to another group of people. Alternatively, we should sit 6 people plus a small child at a table for 4 people. When I waited outside I was checked in again. An older man was also pushed aside more quickly with the words. So unfortunately I won't be visiting this restaurant again or recommending it to others, which is a shame because the food there was always good.

Beautiful traditional, slightly rustic beer garden that invites you to linger on sunny days. Beer was tasty and nice and cold, but you had to wait a good 15 minutes for it despite the moderate number of visitors.

Simply one of the best Amberg inns. Perfect price-performance ratio. A potato salad from m.M.n. the rating - tastes like it was earned by mother. 2-3 very tasty vegan and vegetarian dishes. The service cannot be described, you have to experience it.

The inn was recommended by a customer during a business trip. Although very, very full, the waitresses were very prompt and served everything quickly and appropriately. The food was very plentiful, hearty but tasty. Although not necessarily what I would have chosen myself for dinner in the evening. The dessert was even more delicious and would have been enough for 3. We sat in the courtyard/beer garden.

We were a little late for lunch, but were still able to eat, braised ox It was super tasty, juicy and the meat was very tender. Veal schnitzel also very good.

One of the best inns in Amberg and the surrounding area! Delicious and inexpensive food! Fast and friendly staff who are always happy to say something quick! Just a real inn, like something out of a “picture book”. And it can happen in the evening that one or two meals are "eaten", which is definitely an indirect compliment to the kitchen!

I recently stayed in Amberg on a work trip and found the city and it's people to be helpful and friendly and very patient with me as I continue to learn German. This restaurant had the most friendly staff and some of the best schnitzel I've ever tried. The beer was great as well. I highly recommend that anyone staying in or passing through the old city give this place a try.

One of the best inns in Amberg and beyond! The selection of food is varied and always tastes great. Prices are always fair, the inn is one of the last restaurants to increase prices if necessary. Service is top. The selection of drinks is typical of a pub and delicious. The ambience is rustic but clean and modern, the beer garden is an absolute highlight. Overall just great. Events are almost exclusively limited to bock beer festivals - but that's all you really need 😉 Conclusion: it's not without reason that I'm a regular here!

Very quaint, cozy inn. The catering was top, despite the restaurant being full. A reservation is definitely recommended. Here you can get typical hearty tavern food, and attention is also paid to seasonal products. Large portions at affordable prices. Unfortunately, the food was very greasy throughout, even for my companions. And the “butter biscuit cream” dessert was a failure.

I was there for dinner with my whole family on Saturday evening. The food was ok, it tasted good, but everyone complained, regardless of whether it was roast, schnitzel or fish, that it was much too fatty... But considering the price, you can still eat here quite cheaply! I found the atmosphere really nice and the landlady was simply amazing, a woman like you would imagine in a Bavarian restaurant! She was also very friendly, funny, personable and always on the ball!

Always good! A typical tavern that I know from before and that there are only a few left. Very good home cooking, good beer, good prices and friendly service. In the courtyard there is a nice beer garden for the summer. People from different social backgrounds meet here and I also think it's great that card players are welcome. Keep it up! I really enjoy coming back to you again and again.

I like this restaurant a lot, only a couple of staff speak English and the Menu is all in German which doesn’t help if you don’t speak or read the language. The food is very good, the beer is lovely and the history is amazing, it’s in a very traditional Bavarian style.

We stumbled into the Schiessl by chance. The waitress organized seating for eight people for us - great. We drank light beer from the Steinkrug - incredibly tasty, perfectly tapped 🍺 For dinner I had the roast ox, I would order it again straight away! Here we go again! It's five stars from me.

On the second attempt, half an hour before the kitchen closed at 1:30 p.m., it was again not possible to get anything to eat there. Outrageous or simply unfriendly towards non-natives?

Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to try the food on my last three visits to Amberg. Every time I was sent home before the kitchen closed because the kitchen closed earlier for some reason. Shop was always full. A pity

We weren't there for the last time today 😀 The food was great, tasted very good and there were good portions at a good price. The two waitresses were in a good mood, even though they had a lot to do and were very stressed. I can absolutely recommend this place to everyone.

As always, you can eat very well here. Something for everyone. I think the changing vegetarian menu is great, the dishes are always very tasty and, like everything else, they are freshly cooked. The service is always great and you feel welcome here. If possible, you should reserve in advance. Thank you!

Klassisches bayerisches Wirtshaus! Essen war gut und preiswert (siehe Karte). Warum der Punktabzug: Wir mussten nach der Bestellung eine Stunde auf das Essen warten - was nicht nur an der Küche, sondern auch an den sehr langsamen und chaotisch agierenden Servicekrâften lag.

Wir waren zu zweit zum Mittagessen und uns hatte es sehr gut geschmeckt. Meine Freundin hatte Tafelspitz und ich Tegernseer Schnitzel. Die Bedienung war flott und freundlich. Der Geräuschpegel im Wirtshaus ziemlich hoch. Das muss man halt in Kauf nehmen.
