Great food, would love to come back!

We have been to this restaurant several times and everything has always been great and we always eat the same thing. But we also noticed that if we brought the gourmet block, or 3 times, we would be served children's portions and instead of, for example, 8 shrimps there were only 4!! When I talked about it, I was told that it was definitely a mistake on the part of the kitchen. But man shouldn't either ht forgot, the gourmet block always pays for the most expensive dish, so I pay for the Schrims but only get half of it. I don't think it's ok and we won't go there anymore.

The menu says that the spring rolls are homemade, which is definitely not true - at least they taste just like the things from the freezer. The other dish would also have been found on the buffet at a Chinese restaurant. Nothing special unfortunately.

We had the pleasure of enjoying the best Thai food we have ever tasted! Every bite was a delight. Unfortunately we don't live nearby, otherwise we would definitely be regular customers - that's how impressed we were with this restaurant. We would particularly like to highlight the waitress Maria, who made us feel welcome with her warmth and attentiveness. An absolute must for anyone who loves or wants to discover Thai cuisine.

I got something to go this week - fried noodles with shrimp and vegetables - and it was super tasty. The staff tried very hard and was totally friendly. So I can only recommend it. If I'm ever in the area again, I'll definitely come back.

Hello, I ordered a meal with duck. The portion was very meager, there were only 3 small pieces of meat.

Very great Thai food. Had a curry and a wok dish. Both very tasty and sufficiently portioned. Service was attentive and very friendly. Furniture is a bit old but very clean. We will happily visit it again.

Went here today because of all the good reviews. The people that come here either know what dishes are good or have little clue about thai food. We ordered pad krapao gai with kai dao, sticky rice, som tam salad and gai thord. The dish i received had absolutely nothing in common with any pad grapao i have ever eaten in Thailand or any thai restaurant elsewhere. This was rather fried veggies with some chicken and chili. Bell pepper, string beans, bamboo shoots, onion, all roughly chopped and 2 chilies sliced in halves were brought to the table. I missed any garlic entirely. Nothing had been smashed in the mortar. This resulted in nothing having any flavor besides soy/fish sauce and the spiciness being confined to the otherwise intact chili halves. In any chinese style takeout joint this would have been chicken and veggie stir fry and not pad grapao. On to sticky rice. It was soggy. Packed into a small plastic bag directly after steaming i assume. Som tam lacked flavor. It had a nice spiciness to it but no lime to be seen, no caramel like flavor from the palm sugar, the tomatoes and peanuts had not been crushed in the mortar (optional of course) and just overall it was just not what i have come to love from many night markets in BKK. There was nothing to complain about for the fried chicken but honestly, messing that up would have been a challenge. Overall i must say i was not impressed and have many other options i will prefer over this place any day of the week. Photos were made after we ate, so of course they are only partially valid for examples. I did not think of taking them sooner.

Good evening everyone, Our experience tonight was subpar. If there were 0 stars, the restaurant and especially the boss would have earned -2 ​​stars. We called today at 5:45 p.m. and asked if we could get a table for 4 people at 6:00 p.m. Here we were told that it wasn't a problem at all and that we should just come along. The restaurant was well attended. We were given a table and ordered the drinks after about 5 minutes and the food after 15 minutes. So far so good. The drinks were brought to us quickly. The restaurant was very loud and there was no music playing. The atmosphere was very manageable. It was probably once an old restaurant and there was no classic Thai restaurant experience now. After 1.25 hours we asked how long it would take because we received no information and no one came to our table to tell us that it would take longer. No one came to our table for another 20 minutes. So I went to the front again and asked what was going on. We were told it would take another 20-25. We then decided to leave the restaurant. Waiting over 2 hours in a restaurant for your food is unbearable. At the exit we were asked by a cellar to pay for our two small colas and two large drinks. I then asked if you were really serious. The waiter then called the boss, who when I asked him if he really wanted us to pay for the drinks after this debacle, answered yes. And we would have drunk it. Where an apology would have been necessary, including a refund for the drinks, we paid for the drinks and left the restaurant. The boss neither tried to solve the situation in a customer-oriented manner nor gave me the feeling that it was important to him to satisfy his customers. Instead, he judged me for my anger and said he wanted to resolve the situation. I would overreact. In the end he wanted to bend and break the €9 for the drinks and didn't try to resolve the situation at all. Very poor performance as a restaurant owner. I can't comment on the food. We haven't received anything.

We ate at Sawanya's Thai Restaurant for the first time today. I was very positively surprised. The food was very tasty. We had many different dishes and all of them were great. Very good from starter to main course. The service was very friendly and very attentive. Special requests were also taken into account. You feel very comfortable. Definitely we will come back.

Do you want an original Thai? Please. Everything tastes exactly like it does in northern Thailand, which has become really rare in the metropolitan region. The quality of the products used is very high. The service is exceptionally good, the guys are attentive, polite and try very hard to give every guest a nice experience. As I said to you personally today: please don't change anything, everything is just fine as it is :-)

Everything fits, the food is just great!

The food and service are great. Fresh, crunchy vegetables, everything prepared in-house, no ready-made products for the dumplings etc. We are already looking forward to the next time.

Wer endlich einen Parkplatz gefunden hat, stellt fest, dass das Restaurant im Innen- sowie im Außenbereich ansprechend ist. Der Tisch war schön eingedeckt und das Servicepersonal war zuvorkommend, sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Das Essen war sehr reichhaltig. Die Vorspeise Tom Kha Gai war mit frischen Zutaten zubereitet. Das Galgant (als Tom Kha bezeichnet man Suppen mit Galgant) wurde hierbei so dezent verwendet, dass ein Herausschmecken nicht wirklich möglich war! Zur Hauptspeise Gaeng Keow Wan Gung ist zu sagen, dass alle Zutaten frisch waren und auch an Garnelen nicht gespart wurde. Allerdings war die Portion sehr reichhaltig und leider, wie bei so vielen Thai-Restaurants in Europa, war die Speise an die Geschmacksnerven der Europäer angepasst (somit war von der thailändischen Schärfe nichts zu spüren). Ein Tipp deshalb an dieser Stelle: Vielleicht sollte das Servicepersonal den Gast vorher fragen, ob das Gericht auf authentisch thailändische Weise zubereitet werden soll, oder, ob der Gast vielleicht ein Gericht bestellen möchte, welches angenehm mild ist (bei Bedarf könnte der Gast ja nachwürzen). Soweit so gut! Allerdings wurde auch noch eine PHANOM RUNG PLATTE ("Feinschmeckerplatte" für zwei Personen) bestellt. Auf dieser befand sich allerlei Frittiertes! Bedauerlicherweise waren die Teile teilweise so frittiert, dass man nicht mehr von einer "Feinschmeckerplatte" reden konnte, sondern eher von einer "Bricketplatte". Zudem drängte sich beim Anblick dieser der Verdacht auf, dass es sich bei den Produkten hierbei um Fertigprodukte bzw. um Convenience Produkte handelte! Sehr schade!

We were in the restaurant with our dog. Was very relaxed. Young service staff who are very friendly. The food was very tasty. I had #4 and 35. The spiciness of #35 was mild as advertised. If we're ever in the area again, we'll be happy to come back. P.S. Parking situation is tricky, you can find a parking space in one of the many side streets.

We came across this Thai restaurant during our Google search and perfectly combined the visit with a bike tour in and around Heidelberg. The food was very tasty. The service was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was a bit restless due to all the fans. Nevertheless, a recommendation for anyone who wants to enjoy delicious Thai cuisine near Heidelberg!

We've been there several times. Guests can expect delicious and authentic Thai food. The ingredients are fresh and harmoniously balanced. A wide selection of Thai curries, soups, salads and fish leaves nothing to be desired. The starter menu covers popular Asian dishes such as spring rolls and wontons. For dessert, the baked banana is a highlight, which is surprising in its portion size and tastes great. In general, the portions are generous so that even good eaters are full and satisfied. The still young team is very friendly and makes you feel really welcome, which always rounds off the visit and makes it a successful evening. The price/performance ratio is appropriate. The restaurant and ambience is clean and well maintained. The small star deduction in the “ambience” section is for the clean and well-maintained but outdated sanitary rooms. But this is more of a landlord's responsibility... We will continue to enjoy visiting the restaurant!

I was invited to eat there and really wanted to try the Thai for myself. In my opinion, the atmosphere is typically Thai and a small outdoor seating area (around 6 tables) has recently been added. The service was very pleasant and extras were responded to in a competent and friendly manner, such as: B. the level of spiciness of the food. I had number 49, Phad Phak Preow Wan a purely vegetarian dish with tofu. The seasoning was excellent and the tofu was juicy. I am completely convinced and will now stop by your place often. I especially like the lunch menu and the pick-up option. Oh, in terms of price, everything is within the typical range and at around 25 - 30 Eiro/person including a drink and dessert, it's completely fine for me. Thank you for the delicious food and especially for the tasty dessert - mango with sticky rice and coconut sauce, for a moment I felt like I was truly in Thailand - ขอบคุณมาก (thank you very much) :-)

Had dinner here for a wedding. The staff was extremely nice and I still dream about the amazing peanut sauce 🤤 The decor is very nice and if I'm in the area again I would definitely eat here again 🥰

If you like authentic Thai food, this is the place for you. We received a very friendly and warm welcome. We were given specific recommendations about the dishes on the menu. We were even introduced to a new dish that wasn't even on the menu. The food was a taste experience! Aromatic, light, fresh... I can recommend this restaurant to everyone.

We had a wonderful wedding reception here. Everyone really enjoyed the food, the service was excellent, all in all a very good experience.

Unfortunately the taste was totally disappointing! And overpriced too. Pad Thai and the fried rice had the same vegetable mix, type "German standard mix" and the sauces were also far from being authentic. Only the shrimp chips were okay.

Sawanyas is a very nice, authentic Thai, family-run restaurant. The service is very nice and the food is presented nicely. Will come again, although the parking situation is a little weird. The only place you can park at is penny which is around the corner. Even then you only have a maximum of about two hours to stay without being fined. Of course there are other options but those are further away.

Wir hatten 2 Gerichte mit grünem Pfeffer bestellt, und was war nicht drauf? Richtig, kein grüner Pfeffer. Die Gerichte sind zu zuckerlastig und nicht authentisch Thai. Mein Gericht, Nr. 25 war mit 3 Chillis in der Karte, somit das Schärfste. Leider kaum Schärfe zu spüren. Wer einmal in Thailand war und dort Streetfood hatte wird in Deutschland meist enttäuscht. So auch hier. Wir werden nicht mehr wieder kommen.

Ich war auf Empfehlung zum ersten mal dort. Das Restaurant ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber ganz schön eingerichtet. Toll war die Anrichtung des Essens - sehr schön und liebevoll verziert, und die Dekoration war sehr knackig und frisch! Der Kellner war auf Zack, aber nicht aufdringlich - so wie man es sich wünscht... Das Essen hatte nicht ganz meinen Erwartungen entsprochen - vermutlich hatte ich einfach nur das Falsche bestellt. Aber das Hühnerfleisch war auf den Punkt gebraten - super! Ob die Frühlingsrollen wirklich selbst gemacht sind..? Die frittieren Sachen wurden mit wirklich frischem Öl zubereitet, ebenso das Gericht im Wok. Verbrauchte Öl schmecke ich sofort heraus. Sowohl die Größe, als auch der Preis stehen in einem akzeptablen Verhältnis, ein bisschen weniger Salz hätte es, auch getan, das kam wohl von der reichlichen Sojasauce. Den fünften Stern für das Essen gibt es wahrscheinlich nach meinem nächsten Besuch mit einer anderen Speise. Leider beinhaltet die Mittagskarte kein Ente... Gerne gehe ich da wieder hin - und dann schau'n ' mer mal... Resultat: ein Besuch lohnt sich!
