The food is varied. I especially appreciate that drinks are included in the price. You can help yourself to them from one of the many refrigerators. The selection of drinks is also extensive. I'd gladly come back. The service I received was limited to being shown to my table and taking payment. Therefore, I can only give it 3 stars. It's essential to reserve a table in advance, especially on weekends.

A great place, fantastic atmosphere, excellent food, regularly restocked and checked. Free non-alcoholic drinks. Except for the roaming cat... when several people are celebrating a birthday, it really gets on your nerves. One song in one language would be enough, not five, or at least turn the cat down... please.

There were five of us, and we received a very friendly welcome at the entrance. The food was absolutely delicious, and the selection was huge – so vast that you couldn't possibly try everything. Although it was busy, the size of the restaurant made it hardly noticeable. We were completely satisfied and will definitely be back.

We had a reservation for Sunday evening at 6:30 pm. Upon arrival, we realized we'd been there before (back then under the name Gourmet Hu). Taste-wise, much of the food was okay, but the sushi wasn't to my liking, even though I usually love it. The selection looked bigger than it actually was. Unfortunately, it was also extremely loud. Children were running around playing tag (don't get me wrong, I have nothing against children). It felt more like an indoor playground than a restaurant. The whole place was rather chaotic (robot waiters, children running around barefoot or in their undershirts). The waiters also seemed quite overwhelmed. I had to ask the same waiter three times for my beer. In total, we paid 90 euros (including tip) for two adults and one child (10 years old). In short: If you're looking for a nice, quiet dinner in a restaurant, this is definitely not the place for you. We won't be going back.

We were there two weeks ago and found the food and service excellent. Everything was checked to ensure the food stayed warm, and as soon as something was empty, it was refilled. The staff were very helpful. I would recommend offering chicken with sauces sometime. Otherwise, everything was perfect.

The food and service are excellent. However, there should be a significantly wider selection of sugar-free drinks. Those who don't want sugar can only choose between water and Coke Zero. That's definitely far too limited. Therefore, only 4 out of 5 stars overall. Schweppes drinks, for example, are also available without sugar. Why aren't those offered?

Personally I would say it was a great experience. There were a lot of varieties for one to choose from and most important was the freedom one enjoys even in the midst of so many people. Truly remarkable.

We went there as a family today. The food was consistently very good. The grilled food arrived very quickly, considering how busy the place was. However, the staff barely spoke and weren't even friendly when it came to tips. All in all, I would recommend it.

The value for money for the food is really top-notch. Super affordable. Unfortunately, the atmosphere has little to do with a restaurant. It's really loud, and a major criticism is the birthday song, which is played over the loudspeaker at least five times in an hour, three verses in German and English, entertaining the entire restaurant. In such a large restaurant, you really don't need to blast the entire place with music for every single guest who has a birthday.

Friendliness is often in vain—instead, it seems as if they only care about the tip. If you don't give one, they react with obvious annoyance. In addition, some employees are easily offended, for example, if you follow the rules and only order one hot drink even though you're allowed two. This shouldn't happen in a restaurant. The way they treat guests is unprofessional, and you simply don't feel welcome as a customer. It's a shame, because the food used to be quite good, but due to the poor service and disrespectful attitude toward regulars, I probably won't go there again.

We ate there today, totally overcrowded, food cold, not great quality, lots of breading, the quality used to be better, freshly prepared food is brought by the robot, by the time it's on the table everything is cold, just mass processing, the audience was borderline, buffet now 33.90 including drinks, you have to take the drinks flat, noise level very loud, birthday song from the robot every 10 minutes, unfortunately we were there for the last time, you get more for your money elsewhere

A large cafeteria atmosphere, loud and uncomfortable. The crowd is also very shabby and unmannerly. The value for money, however, is excellent! €33 for the all-you-can-eat menu is unbeatable, especially considering that it includes (brand-name!!!) drinks served in bottles! The only drawback: In an Essen restaurant, you'd expect Stauder Pils! Unfortunately, they only serve König Pilsener and not even an alternative. The food is absolutely reasonable for the price, very varied, and freshly prepared upon request. Not a place to feel good, but definitely a place to fill your stomach!

The AZG is one of our favorite restaurants. The buffet leaves little to be desired, the quality of the food is excellent, and the staff is very friendly. And if you're lucky enough to reserve a table by the window, it won't even bother you if the restaurant is busy.

A lot has changed here at Asia Zushi Grill. Today, there are several well-spaced counters, neatly decorated, and significantly improved hygiene. The food can be described as delicious and well worth the asking price. If you don't want to spend quite so much, you can also visit on Saturdays from 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for €23.90 for adults, €8.90 for children between 3 and 6, and €11.90 for children between 7 and 11. I can definitely recommend this restaurant.

You pay so much money. In return, the air conditioning doesn't turn on. It's incredibly hot and stuffy, like a steam boiler. And that happens every time. So you can sweat it out, and the boss saves money.

Awful place! Totally overcrowded, unfriendly staff, and very dirty...the restrooms are a disaster. *The one star is just so I can give this review. The restaurant had just opened at 5 p.m. when we arrived. The reserved table and the benches were so smeared and dirty that I got all my clothes dirty, and the floor under the table felt like it hadn't been mopped for the last time since opening. The staff were instructed on what we were allowed to do and how long we had, all in a harsh tone. Punctual, unfriendly, we were kicked out after the time was up with: "You've had enough by now!" Extremely outrageous prices, even though there's nothing special. Standard buffet! No air to breathe inside. Totally overcrowded and cramped, even the staff shoved you as you walked by, without regard for the consequences, even though you were carrying food to your seat. And it's not worth it with a child just because of the "small indoor playground." The child would rather have a coloring book at a different buffet restaurant soon! Parking on site is virtually impossible unless you arrive right at 5 p.m. Never again!

A recommendation is difficult. It's not the customer that counts. Quantity is what matters, and so is revenue. The food was generally good, but it's difficult to get half your money's worth. Parking is quite tight and small, so it's better to use the parking lot at the Kronenzentrum.

The food itself is like any other all-you-can-eat restaurant; you get full after just one plate because the food is definitely saturated. We couldn't eat any more because we were already so full, even though we ate very little. The tables and chairs were very sticky, and while we were eating, a small cockroach walked on our table. The staff noticed it and completely ignored it, just cleared all the plates away, and then got pissed off. We didn't get dessert afterward because we'd already lost our appetite. Unfortunately, I'm only giving it one star. I'll leave the food aside; there's nothing bad to say about it. But...the pricing policy is debatable. Charging 11 euros for three-year-olds is pretty outrageous!!! They eat five fries and a few nuggets. I find that pretty steep.

There's a large selection of appetizers and fresh salads, delicious sushi, many different main courses, and a Mongolian buffet where you can customize your own ingredients. The dessert selection is also impressive: from fresh fruit to soft serve ice cream to a chocolate fountain, there's really everything. The beverage selection is equally extensive and covers almost every craving. A real highlight is the service team: very friendly, attentive, and fast. The staff is supported by a robot waiter – an original idea that makes the visit a special experience. The only criticism concerns the selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes. Compared to the many meat and fish dishes, this is unfortunately very limited. It would be nice to expand the menu in the future. Overall, however, this is a highly recommended restaurant for anyone who likes to try a variety of dishes, values variety, and enjoys a relaxed all-you-can-eat & drink experience. We'll definitely be back! PS: For my son's birthday, there was even a free surprise cocktail and a serenade from the robot 😂

Visiting Essen for the first time. Found this "All you can eat" Chinese restaurant. You pay €33.90 for your food and 2 drinks(alcohol or non alcohol). A very good choice of food!!! Fortunately we were early and didn't have a problem getting a table. Any later than probably 18.00pm and you might have to wait a little. Booking a table is highly recommended. Staff are very nice and friendly. Definitely recommend this place!!

The selection for the regular buffet, the grill buffet, and drinks is extremely extensive. If you can't find anything to your taste, there's no help for you. 😅🫣 Of course, this isn't 10-star cuisine, but everything was deliciously prepared and everything seemed clean! The star deduction for the ambience is due to my personal opinion; it's quite loud and hectic at peak times, which isn't surprising for a restaurant of this size. 🤷‍♀️ The staff were friendly and very quick at clearing and refilling. Seven of us ate here for my mom's birthday. The buffet was really good – a huge selection, fresh, and delicious. The service was also super friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, the sushi was only okay. The price ended up being €240 for everyone, which is absolutely fine for the service, but that's why we give it 4 stars overall. Nevertheless: the atmosphere, food, and service were top-notch – we'd love to come back!

Also recommended for families with children. The food is delicious, there's a wide selection, and there's a large selection of drinks. There's a large play area for children. You can also sit nearby, eat in peace, and keep an eye on the kids.

Instead of a relaxed atmosphere, we felt like we were being watched and disturbed the entire time. The absolute highlight: My one-year-old niece, who only drank milk, was charged €6! That's completely unreasonable and outrageous – a child that age doesn't eat from the buffet and shouldn't have been charged anything at all. The staff's behavior was generally rude and not customer-oriented. That's not how you treat guests. We were looking forward to a nice evening, but were completely disappointed. Definitely the first and last time – not recommended!

The buffet is huge and offers absolutely everything your heart desires: from fresh sushi to a large salad buffet, hot Asian dishes, a fantastic dessert buffet, and a wide selection of fresh ingredients for the front-of-the-line cooking. Particularly convenient: the drinks package – simple and relaxed. Everything was super fresh, deliciously prepared, and there really was something for every taste – even for children. The service was friendly and attentive. The only minor criticism: Unfortunately, the food was a bit overcooked during the front-of-the-line cooking – a little more sensitivity in the cooking would have been appreciated. Otherwise: Great! We'll definitely be back.

The food was great! No question about it. The fact that they couldn't find our reservation and we had specifically noted that my wife was celebrating her 40th birthday wasn't so great. (A reminder came via email an hour beforehand) But when we wanted to show her, they didn't want to see her! You don't want to seem ungrateful and it was certainly still a nice experience with our friends, but the fact that there was a free drink for many of the "birthday children" and my wife looked a bit dejected because there was nothing for her was a bit of a bad moment for her. As I said, we don't want to seem ungrateful but this really shouldn't happen! So please improve the service as I don't think I'm an isolated case!

We were there on a Sunday afternoon, and it wasn't particularly busy. The food selection was good, and everything was delicious. The service was also very friendly and good. The only downside is the robot, which drives past you incessantly, blaring music to deliver the ordered food to the tables. In my opinion, an acoustic notification as soon as the order arrives at the table would be more sensible, but it is perfectly adequate. Otherwise, it is recommended.

The clientele was typical for an all-you-can-eat restaurant, which isn't surprising. I'd especially like to mention the staff, who were mostly very friendly. All in all, the Asia Zushi Grill is a place I would visit again.

It was very organized from the start, with plenty of seating and wide aisles, and everything was labeled and beautifully presented. Very family-friendly, thanks to the children's area located directly inside, separate from the dining room and therefore not at all disruptive for guests without children. Huge, varied buffet selection; there's something for everyone, big and small. The food tastes delicious and fresh. Highly recommended; we'll definitely be back.

First of all, I can't understand the negative reviews. The staff at the entrance were very friendly and showed us (there were two of us today - 05/25/25-) to a good table. The other employees working in the restaurant were also very friendly. It was perhaps a bit noisy, as many seats were occupied, but we were still able to have a normal conversation :) The selection is also very good, the food is absolutely delicious, and another plus point is that drinks are all-inclusive. My feeling is that now that the restaurant is no longer called "Gourmet Hu" and there's apparently a new owner, the buffet has improved. Not only due to the remodeling of the buffet, but also in terms of taste. We would love to come back, perhaps not just as a couple, but also with a larger group :)
