Sanabel in Berlin

The food is tasty, but unfortunately, the staff takes their bad mood out on the customers. They're extremely unfriendly and don't prepare the takeaway dishes with the requested ingredients... Hygiene is questionable.

The vegan falafel is incredibly good! - You have to try it. The service is very friendly and welcoming. The ambiance isn't great, but it doesn't need to be, because the falafel is perfect for eating while walking.

Solid Lebanese spot. A little too expensive for what I got but it is right next to boxi. I also didn’t get any bread/carbs in my teller. For this reason I think it’s a very high three. If I had bread/pitta it would be bumped. What I got was delicious though it must be said.

Had a falafel wrap from here, was so delicious - falafel is completely freshly made and crispy, the salad is also fresh and tasty with mint and other herbs within. service also fast. Great to get and then eat in the park

The best shawarma in Fhain for sure! Everything is so fresh, mix shawarma with falafel - AMAZING. Quite big portion for only 6€, considering that all Döner places cost 8-9€, it's much better than any typical Döner place. Highly recommend!

After 3 years living close by and frequently eating there I finally decided to write a review. The food is good and the price is competitive. However, the environment is SUPER hostile whenever the boss/owner is not there. The gentleman who works there (used to work at night only and now it’s around the clock) is arguably the most passive agressive person I’ve met. In my experience he has: -laughed at me and other customers when ordering -ignored me completely when saying hello or coming into the store -closed early or left to smoke for a good 20 mins while you wait to order, without saying a word of course -insulted me and other customers in his language It really is a pity, because I see hundreds of people (especially women, POC and queer people) actively avoid this place since this dude joined. As a matter of fact, all the negative reviews (please check them, everyone had a shitty experience there it seems) started only after this guy joined. I wonder why the owners don’t do anything about this, it is actively hurting their business. I also wonder how much higher the level of hostility can escalate because it always seems to top itself.

Ordered a chicken shawarma and wasn’t really impressed. Chicken was alright but nothing special compared to other places in Berlin. Veggies were bland and all I could taste was onion. On top of that, the guy making the food wasn’t wearing gloves and was also handling cash, which felt pretty unhygienic.

Actually my regular Fallafel, but I'm no longer satisfied. The quality varies greatly depending on who prepares it. It shouldn't be like that. I just had almost only salad in my sandwich for the umpteenth time. I'll try the competition next time because these differences annoy me and I don't just want to eat salad.

Load transphobic! I went there in the evening with a person, they served me normally and somewhat politely, answered questions, etc. The other person who was there with me (clothing not stereotypical to the first appearance) was first ignored, then when the person wanted to order something there was a very angular look and then a laugh that made fun of it to his friends. The other person wasn't talked to either. Only the ordered food was carelessly placed on the counter. I also suspect that the person was talked about in a foreign language. Since we were there in the evening we felt very threatened and uncomfortable.

As a native of Fredrichshain, I haven't experienced anything so unfriendly in a long time. Warming up the order or the accompanying food in the microwave an hour before closing seems to be an impertinence for the employee. Thank goodness there are plenty of alternatives in the immediate vicinity! Definitely go somewhere else. Kindness 6-

Everything was great on the first and second visit. But from the third point onwards the problems started. The somewhat strong employee is aggressive and also understands German. He simply filled my Samnija sandwich as he wanted instead of asking the customer. I won't go there anymore from now on!

The service is really horrible, no hello and goodbye and when asking what one ingredient means, the person who works there just laughs at me and ignores me. This happened already twice and I will not go there anymore.

The location is amazing, the food is OK , but the service is so nasty, you feel like being in Jarmusch's "down by law", the scene where you meet your fellow inmates.

Ordered Falafel Makale, unfortunately the two men at the service were very unfriendly. Falafel were freshly fried, but they weren't really tasty. Then it's better to go to AliBaba around the corner or one of the Sudanese snack bars...

I actually liked going to Sanabel because the food is good, but that's also important depends on the employee who is currently there. Unfortunately there are two very unfriendly people behind the counter. One person doesn't even respond to questions about the product and just leaves something on the counter. He looks at you aggressively. Unfortunately not just depending on the day. It's a shame because I won't be going there from now on!

As far as the food is concerned, it's great! The guy behind the counter doesn't work at all. Totally unfriendly, ignorant and aggressive. It's a real shame because the food is really good. It's better to move on, because good food is served nicely elsewhere! 😎

A Lebanese twist on the classic Berlin sandwiches. They have falafel, halloumi, schwarma, teller and more. The staff are quite accommodating and the location is in the heart of Boxagener Platz, so it forms a great part of a night in the area that you're planning. Reasonable prices and has everything you need!
