SAN MARCO Ristorante - Pizzeria Ratingen in Ratingen

There were six of us there on November 4th, 2024. Unfortunately, it was an unfortunate visit. The soup we ordered didn't come at all and then it was just water with egg. Zero flavor, zero parmesan. The color was reddish, which looked more like beaten vegetables than clear broth. Please don't do that!!! A pizza was missing an ingredient and the service was very poor. No apology or anything like that. I remember the restaurant used to be good. But like this...?

Its going on 15 years that I do no more live in the region, but whenever I am visiting, I always make a point to dine here. It was fantastic to see how the restaurant has evolved over the years, starting from a humble pizzeria in a super market to nowadays the best Italian restaurant in the entire region. The five stars are definitely justified!

Delicious pizza and a nice ambience in the back of the house. Pizza can be ordered for take away in the front area of ​​the restaurant. Contrary to some reviews here, I have to say that our waiter was taciturn but still very nice. The pizza was good, but with more cheese than usual.

Eating here is really fun. It is advisable to reserve a table on weekend evenings. Despite the restaurant being full, the service was friendly and the waiting time wasn't long.

Ambience and food completely ok. But you are always overlooked. Nobody comes and takes the drinks. You have to ask emphatically. The order also took a long time. You simply aren't seen, that should change!!!!More friendliness would be an advantage

There were six of us at the San Marco and unfortunately the evening was anything but satisfactory. After taking our seats, we had to wait 15 minutes before we had to ask the waiter to take our drink order. The starters also took an unreasonably long time to arrive. Despite several attempts to draw attention to us through eye contact and hand signals, we were ignored when we tried to order the main courses. A main course was also completely forgotten and only served 10 minutes later. The place may have been very busy and the staff may have been understaffed, but such behavior is unacceptable. Ignoring guests and a lack of attention are not part of good service. The waiter seemed disinterested, took the orders wordlessly on his iPad and avoided any eye contact - very unfriendly. San Marco was once known for its quality, but unfortunately the food now seems to be middle class. Overall we were very disappointed.

After almost two hours the food finally arrived. The dish of the day was completely oversalted and more of an appetizer. So for the main course, four noodles with mushroom sauce are clearly not enough. When asked, Dar Kelner became cheeky and said "that's usually enough for the guests". So I'm not normal. Not recommended this snack bar.

Weak pizza after 75 minutes!! Not recommended.

Waiter extremely unfriendly, waitress nice but without influence. When we were finally allowed to order our food after a very long wait, it came very quickly. The food was average at best. The payment process then took forever.

Didn't like it at all, waiter dissatisfied, frustrated or lazy, I have no idea, there were three of us and we didn't get a small starter, like olives, bread or bruscheta, and at the end the waiter made a mistake with the bill, only mini, mini, at least about 50 Euro,

This pizzeria is out of this world. The pizzas are all very tasty. The pasta dishes are also consistently excellent. I haven't ventured into meat and fish in particular here yet. But overall, this restaurant can only be recommended because the prices are very, very good. The service is friendly and accommodating. You are not pressured into anything, but you get really good recommendations.

Parpadelle mit Lachs, oder Taglerini mit Pfifferlingen, beides sehr gut, sehr gute Pasta wie selbstgemacht, leckerer Lachs mit Soße bzw. Pfifferlinge. Ein Genuss. Der charmante Chef war auch wieder da. Er strahlt bella Italia aus. Immer wieder gerne.

Average pizza but discreetly made and well seasoned. Adequate prices and friendly staff.

We knew the pizza from the delivery service. The visit to the restaurant is really worth it, because in addition to the food, there is also the ambience and the service were very good. If we had only ordered Saltimbocca without a starter, we would recommend an extra portion of fries or the delicious tiramisu for dessert. In summary Like in Italy.

Pizzas arrived dry, there was hardly any cheese, the expensive mini salad with the wrong dressing was a joke, a shame, it was usually good but not like this anymore

Unfortunately, the food wasn't seasoned and our waiter didn't seem to be entirely motivated that evening either. Glasses were no longer cleared away and drinks were only available upon request. Too bad

We ordered two pizzas. A total of two hours delivery time that wasn't even worth it! Both pizzas had far too thick dough with a black edge. In addition, part of the surface was forgotten. Never again!

Nice staff, reasonable prices. Very tasty pizzas. Only the garlic oil on the spinaci pizza would like to have a bit of garlic in it.

Best Italian in Ratingen. Started as a pizza joint ages ago, it is now a very good Italian restaurant.

Unfortunately, the service was so subpar that even the good food couldn't enhance the visit. We weren't even asked if we would like something else to drink and we also had to request the bill several times. The older gentleman (our waiter) only uttered ONE word during the payment process: “COPY?” no thanks (despite tipping for no service) and no “goodbye” or anything like that…. We won't be coming back. Good pizza, pasta and salads can also be found elsewhere. The food was good, but not good enough. Too bad.

A bit expensive for the quantity.

We were there spontaneously on a Saturday and after a short wait we got a table outside. The service was fantastic, the food was fantastic😍

You can easily go there - nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Pizza Funghi was also good, but I've eaten better. I found the pizza crust a bit dry and floury, and overall a bit too little salt.

Quantity instead of quality. A pity.

The waiter was very rude. We sat down and took a fifth chair. The way the waiter pointed out to us that we weren't allowed to put a chair there was beyond rude and very disrespectful! I will no longer recommend the restaurant to family and friends.

Tastes 100% delicious But the portion was really small. I had canelloni and that was really little so I ordered something else afterwards. Ambiance was also 100% great and the service was nice and friendly.

Delicious pizzaria even with a large group (30 people)

The food didn't come to the table after half an hour. When we asked, the employee said it wasn't that long ago and started arguing with us instead of simply apologizing. However, we were sure because I made a phone call after ordering and was able to calculate the time. The employee didn't want to accept this, even though we had just asked politely and didn't want to discuss it. Suddenly he became very rude and loud. The noodles were nothing special. Our appetite was gone anyway. That was my last visit there. I advise everyone not to visit this store. There are better alternatives.

I waited half an hour for my food. When I asked the waiter in a friendly manner, he became rude and claimed that the wait wasn't that long, even though 30 minutes had already passed.

Very good veal medallions, accompanied by a good red wine from the small carafe, followed by a Sicilian ice cream cake. A successful evening, I would love to come back. Visited you again today on Mother's Day! Very tasty swordfish, nice wine, a fantastic dessert and still very friendly service. We always like to come back! See you next time.

Been in Ratingen for decades and the food is top notch. Delicious pizzas and delicious pasta dishes. A classic Italian restaurant. The restaurant itself gets a bit noisy when it is full and it is advisable to reserve a table here, especially on the weekend. The waitresses are generally friendly. We have had positive but unfortunately also negative experiences here.

As always, absolutely great!!!! Keep it up.

Very good food, large selection on the menu, great value for money, friendly service, very busy at prime time - which makes it louder and busier. All in all, my colleagues and I had a cheerful, entertaining evening on the sidelines of the trade fair visit in Düsseldorf, which then ended happily with a final “schlörgulp” on the house.

So we really have nothing to complain about. Food was rich and tasty. Service was friendly. Price/performance is okay. Premises are pleasant. Full marks from me.

Since I ordered via delivery, I can only rate the food. The lasagne they offer there tastes really horrible. Firstly, it is overloaded with cheese, even between all the pasta plates, secondly, the tomato sauce is more of a cream sauce with some tomato paste added and thirdly, it is absolutely not seasoned. It's a shame that you hear so many good things and get something disappointing to eat. Never again!!

In terms of taste and ambience, I can't fault the restaurant in any way, but I don't think it's okay if you wait for a seat and other guests come in after you and get a seat beforehand even though you haven't made a reservation. I don't see this and mentioned it on site and then left the restaurant.

Was here with a few blues guitarists from the Blues Plus course with Peter Autschbach. Everyone was very happy with the food and service. My delicious pizza even had the additional pepperoni I ordered. Excellent.

We ate there for the first time. The service was quick, friendly and competent. The ambience mixes modern and traditional components. The food was really good. The prices were more than fair for the quality and quantity. We will come back, we are sure of it.

The food in the restaurant itself is really good. I've never been disappointed there. I was even more disappointed when I ordered home today. The salad contradicted the order and the over-baked pasta was totally burnt and inedible. The pizza rolls were also soggy and cold.

Eigentlich zufrieden, aber die letzten Male liest keiner der Köche die Bestellung oder es wird Semi Produktiv zugehört😏 die Gerichte kamen zügig und warm an!! Aber immer die letzten Male mit Knoblauch bestellt, Nix Knoblauch. Angemerkt per Telefon (ja ja nächste Male e bestimmte)trotzdem nix😠 wichtig für uns!! Spaghetti mit Garnelen gefühlt ohne Gewürze (auch ohne gewünschten Knoblauch !! Wenn das mittlerweile egal ist dann ist uns auch egal zum anderen Anbieter zu wechseln!! Kundenwunsch und dafür zu bezahlen und es nicht zu bekommen ist NEGATIV Team San Marco … SCHADE

Immer wieder lecker. Mittagstisch mit guter Auswahl

Kamen am zweiten Weihnachtstag spontan hierher, da wir Probleme mit unserer favorisierten Lokalität hatten. Wir bekamen tatsächlich noch einen Tisch und wurden freundlich und schnell bedient. Pizza extrem lecker - hier habe ich sogar gerne den Rand gegessen, da der Pizzateig einfach köstlich ist. Frisches Brinkhoffs vom Fass - astrein. Gerne wieder!

Sehr nettes und freundliches Personal. Das Essen Ist okay. Ein sehr gut besuchter Italiener mit vielen Tischen, deshalb war es mir persönlich etwas zu laut. Die Preise sind deshalb aber durchaus akzeptabel.

Ein guter solider Italiener. Ich persönlich empfinde die Räumlichkeiten als sehr laut. Durch den großen Gastroraum war es sehr laut und Unterhaltung waren schlecht zu führen. Pizza und Pasta waren sehr gut, leider war der gegrillte Tintenfisch qualitativ nicht berauschend und auch nicht lange genug auf dem Grill. Der Service ist freundlich und flott.

Am Sonntag besuchteb wir auf Empfehlung das San Marco. Ich bestellte eine Apfelschorle und später die 73. Nachdem der Kellner gefühle 10 Minuten lang keine Getränke brachte und erneut nach unseren Wünschen fragte, bemerkte er rasch seinen Fehler. Er servierte uns prompt die bereits fertigen Getränke, die an der Bar auf ihren Einsatz warteten. Überraschenderweise erhielten wir kostenloses Bruschetta mit Tomaten als Vorspeise. Die 73 wurde anschließend zügig serviert (siehe Foto), und der Geschmack war wirklich lecker. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist hier angemessen, und ich werde das San Marco gerne weiterempfehlen. Die Location kannte ich noch aus früheren Zeiten als Cocktailbar, wurde jedoch komplett umgebaut. Uns hat es gut gefallen – sicherlich nicht das letzte Mal.

Das Essen ist sehr gut und auch die Bedienung ist sehr freundlich.

Gestern waren wir dort essen. Es hat alles gestimmt, Essen, Kellner und auch das Ambiente ist TOP!! Trotzdem muss ich leider nur 4 Sterne geben, denn als ich die Rechnung bekam, stand auf der Rechnung 1€ Verpackungsmaterial, da ich meine restliche Pizza mit nach Hause nehmen wollte. Darüber war ich sehr schockiert. Laut Aussage des Kellners wird dieser Posten nun mit aufgeführt aufgrund des Finanzamtes (Erklärungen spar ich Euch jetzt). Lieber San Marco Inhaber, ein Posten fürs Finanzamt kann man auch mit 0€ aufführen, denn sie haben ja bereits einen Inhouse-Preis und Außerhaus Preise. Es wäre schön wenn das nochmal überdacht werden würde.

Das Essen war sehr lecker, die Bedienung top!
