It's really a must visit when you enter the mesmerizing town of Bamberg. Authentic taste, good staff +service, and soothing environment - everything all included here!

We were able to get a table for three at the last minute – that alone was a huge plus. All the dishes were absolutely delicious and superbly prepared. The service was attentive and friendly, and the restaurant itself is very beautiful and inviting. We'll definitely be back! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I was absolutely thrilled! From the very first moment, everything was perfect – the staff was exceptionally friendly, attentive, and professional. You can tell that great importance is placed on service and hospitality here. The quality of the food was top-notch: perfectly prepared, harmoniously flavored, and beautifully presented. The selection of drinks was also excellent and perfectly complemented the dishes. The ambiance is stylish, cozy, and modern – you immediately feel at ease. Everything is meticulously thought out, down to the smallest detail, from the lighting to the music. A truly wonderful experience that sets a new standard. I can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant!

Athenian ambiance, pleasant lighting, a "jungle" on the ceiling, and beautiful murals. There's also a good selection for vegans. We went there twice for an inexpensive lunch – it was delicious. If we're ever in Bamberg again, this would be our first stop for good food!

If there were six stars, I would give them; everything here is absolutely perfect! The waiters are attentive, the drinks are amazing (lots of non-alcoholic options! Coconut Kiss is my favorite!), and the food is even better. The ambiance also scores highly with its modern, cozy feel. There are many vegetarian options, and so far everything has been fantastic. The value for money is also excellent.

This was our second time eating here and we were delighted both times. Very tasty Indian food, a wide selection, and many combinations (various sauces with vegetables/paneer/poultry/meat/fish). The tandoori dish was also very tasty.

We spontaneously stopped by Samrat & Spices for dinner yesterday. I didn't see the inside of the restaurant because we sat outside. The staff was very friendly. The menu is very extensive, and there's truly something for every taste. Even though we were a bit overwhelmed, we were able to order quickly. The drinks arrived quickly, too. However, we had to wait a bit for the food. To be fair, they were busy. What we ordered was very tasty and freshly prepared. The value for money was excellent. We will definitely be back.

We held a family event at this restaurant last week. I was a little apprehensive about finding good Indian food in such a (beautiful!) small town in Germany, but Samrat really did an excellent job. Not only was their food delicious (the dahi bhalla and paneer methi were particularly good), but the management was extremely helpful with every big/small request, even moving all of the furniture in the main room after dinner so that we could do short performances and speeches. I would love to go back, and would highly recommend Samrat for dinner or for any events in Bamberg.

We were turned away the first time because it was already 2:45 p.m. and they close at 3:00 p.m. They're officially open until 11:00 p.m. When I called and said we'd come at 10:00 p.m., I was told it was okay. We were okay, but the waiter was annoyed. We hurried with our orders so the waiter could close on time. When the food arrived and my wife ordered more naan, the waiter said, "Okay, but then we can't do anything else." Half amused, half bewildered, we quickly finished our food and then quickly left.

Business lunch. Absolutely perfect! Very tasty, impeccable service. Highly recommended. I'd love to go again.

A very authentic restaurant in the heart of Bamberg. We ordered a variety of dishes, all of which were delicious. The interior is modern, Indian, and also paired with plenty of greenery. We would come again... the medium-spicy dish was really medium-spicy :-) (that's rare)... all in all, a pleasant experience. Also suitable for vegans.

Beyond nice atmosphere there isn’t much to say about food. Having burgers in Indian restaurant speaks to itself. If you know the Indian kitchen you will immediately see the spice proportions aren’t taken right.

We picked up lunch for 10 people. Everything tasted great, the order was ready within 30 minutes and we got 2 mango lassis on the house. Thank you for your hospitality, it was a great experience

It was a spontaneous visit to Samrat, as I'm just visiting Bamberg. I was there alone and received a warm welcome. The hospitable owners/waiters approached me immediately. The food was magnificent and delicious; the flavorful combination of spices and tender lamb was first-class. I've rarely had such good Indian food as I did in this place. It was definitely worth the spontaneous visit. To my surprise, I discovered that it was the first naan bread I've tolerated without heartburn or a bad stomach ache. The vegetables also tasted fresh and full of juice and life. Thank you for this wonderful taste experience, I'll be back!

We absolutely loved our visit to the Indian restaurant Samrat! The atmosphere was inviting, the staff very friendly and attentive. The variety of dishes on the menu was impressive, and every single dish I tried was delicious and authentically prepared. I look forward to returning soon and enjoying more of the exquisite Indian cuisine at Samrat Restaurant!

At the weekend we visited this Indian place and got a place, although a reservation is recommended as it is very busy. There is a variety of dishes to choose from, everyone should find something here. The service is polite, quick and attentive. The preparation of the food didn't take long, despite the large number of guests. Everyone in the family was happy with the food, from the taste to the presentation. Price level is probably normal, there is nothing to complain about. If you really want to complain about something, it might be the fact that some of the tables are close together, but it's still ok.

The staff welcomed us very nicely even without a reservation! The food was super tasty, very flavorful and different from typical Indian food. Very fresh and not greasy. The lassi was perfect! We had to wait a bit for the food but it was very busy.

Very good food, nice ambience, nice staff. If you want something different then you've come to the right place. A little tip: make a reservation in advance, as there is not always something available. My favorite is tandoori plate... A great meal with two beers.

We were a group of 5 people and spontaneously stopped by for a cocktail on a Saturday evening without a reservation. The atmosphere was very cozy and we were even able to easily move to a larger table a little later. Even when the evening became “a little more fun”, the waiters remained super friendly and always took care of our ordered Cubra Libre quickly! The next day we stopped by again (this time for dinner) and were greeted with a friendly smile. The food was also very tasty. When we were home sick again, we even got 2 rounds of schnapps on the house. All in all, highly recommended!

New to Bamberg, and a hardcore Indian foodie here! Went to Samrat today and tried the chicken Biriyani, which was quite satisfactory. I will keep visiting and try the rest of their menu, which seems quite updated and unique as it contains urban and street food items which are rare to find in most menus. Good luck!

I was shocked because it tasted great the first time, but I don't know what happened. I was really embarrassed in front of my guests because I had told them this restaurant was great but it wasn't!

First of all, I liked the atmosphere of a modern Indian restaurant that was not too noisy. The garlic naan was great, and the mango lassi was as good as I expected. Makhani Sarce was also the best I've ever had. However, the Tandoori Chicken was not my taste, and failed to remove the chicken's unique smell. However, overall, I personally think it's a good Indian restaurant. First of all, I liked the atmosphere of a modern Indian restaurant that wasn't too noisy. Food was very tasty. The ambience is also nice. (inside) Deduction for the service, which wasn't bad! However, I would have liked the waiter to see my empty glass. When I asked about recommendations, I also received the dry answer “Masala”. When I asked what else I was told I had to read. 🤷‍♂️ All in all recommended.

I live in the area and when I'm craving for some traditional Indian food, I always come to Samrat&Spices. In their food you can really taste all the spices and how much Love they put into their food. The staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is very welcoming. I can really feel staff and especially the food pulling me in to taste something new everyday. It reminds me a bit of back home in the Caribbean.🖤

They have truly mastered the art of vada pav and masala chai - both are an absolute must-try! We also sampled the chhole bhature and masala dosa; while I've had better options in Germany, the vada pav and chai were simply outstanding and really stood out. The staff was kind, polite, and exceptionally attentive, enhancing the overall experience. I would definitely return to this spot for my favourite dishes!😍

We haven't eaten Indian food that often, but I can highly recommend this restaurant. Located in the center of Bamberg, I don't know if there is parking available, we stayed in a hotel nearby 🏨. When you enter the restaurant you are greeted personally and shown to your table. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, with subtle Indian music playing in the background. Very tasty light 🍺 was served after a short time. When we asked what was recommended for beginners to Indian cuisine, we first asked whether we wanted it spicy, fruity or curry-heavy. Then a few dishes were recommended and we agreed that they were hits. First of all, a very good tomato soup as a starter, although I didn't eat that well at the Italian restaurant. Then the main courses and they were also great. I could see that other guests were also being served this way, great. All in all, clearly recommended.

I think the ambience here is successful, (artificial) plants on the ceiling and walls contribute to a feel-good atmosphere. The food was good, nothing to complain about here. Allergens are also identified. Since my girlfriend is gluten intolerant, you can easily see what works and what doesn't. BUT Indian food is always a safe haven for us when we travel because almost everything here is gluten-free. However, many dishes here were marked as containing gluten, which we didn't know. The service was... there. Unfortunately very unmotivated, not unfriendly but indifferent. There was also a young lady on the team, so you felt more welcome. My conclusion is that I would go again alone, but not with a friend.

I always order my food to take away and it always takes a maximum of 10 minutes. People are friendly. I usually order chicken masala, which comes with rice. Masala is 600g and rice is 400g. A naan bread has around 110g
