Delicious food (Baghdad plate), good portion, but overall more of an upmarket snack bar with restaurant prices. Ambiance is ok, but unfortunately you sit far too close to each other, hence only 2 stars. There were two of us there, a table of four was shared (approx. 10 cm apart) and it felt like we were sitting on the lap of the strange neighbor and could have hugged him. There may be people who think it's nice, but it was very unpleasant for us and for the neighbors too... Service was very attentive, but also a bit fake friendly.

Everything was absolutely perfect—great food, outstanding service, and super friendly staff. We were craving a homey meal, and this place delivered! The Quzi lamb was incredibly delicious. We’ll definitely be back soon!

The building in which the restaurant is located initially seems rather inconspicuous and perhaps even a little outdated. From the inside you will be even more positively surprised: modern furnishings, pleasant ambience and, above all, very nice and attentive staff. The only, minimal point of criticism: If you are assigned a table for two, you may end up sitting quite close to the neighboring table. The tables could also be a little larger. The food was very good. There is also plenty on offer for vegetarians here. We will definitely visit the restaurant again and can absolutely recommend it!

The food is a 10/10! The bread is addictive 😋. The mezzes are also delicious. The kababs are extremely tasty and juicy. Perfectly seasoned, so you can taste the meat and it's not too salty. The price of water and drinks is overpriced. The owner is honest, very ambitious and attaches great importance to hygiene and perfectionism.

I like to visit new restaurants that were previously unknown to me in order to satisfy my culinary needs. During my search I came across this property because of the good reviews. Unfortunately, there are almost no parking spaces available or the existing ones are already parked in two versions. Finally, with great difficulty, we found a parking space and off we went to the longed-for dinner. The first turn-off was at the entrance door: you had to queue even though the entire restaurant was 80% empty... very strange. But when you got inside, the staff stared at you without saying a word and didn't say a greeting or anything like that. Until I and my companion approached the staff, who were like an advertising column, and asked if you could just sit down somewhere. The person said no, but since he wanted to help us, he asked us to follow him. We did this and ended up with another no go! The tables in the left area of ​​the shop were so close together that you had to negotiate your way through them. My companion, who is really thin and physically fit, couldn't get through either, so we were forced to change the table arrangement a bit. After we took our seats, we restored it to its original state. The only stupid thing here was that the staff stared at us rather penetratingly instead of helping us in any way. Well, we decided to continue to enjoy the evening and nothing should get in the way. We got the menu and thought about what was being sold here, because the prices were surprisingly high!!! That shouldn't spoil our fun either and we ordered a nice grill plate for two for 58€ and drinks for 11€ (I asked myself what justifies this price 1 x iced tea (0.2l) 1 x apple spritzer (0.2l) and 1 x Ayran but that remains to be seen for now. The next no go came when the staff asked if that was all and heard a yes. Received in a very unfriendly manner, the staff in question strutted away like an offended diva. As a starter you got a mixed starter plate with 4 dips and a flatbread which was called lavaş. We couldn't have imagined that this appetizer plate would be the only highlight of our visit... we had only tried it briefly and suddenly our order came. We were of course pleased but also always surprised. The culinary feast should begin! FALSE STATEMENT, the meat that was offered here was half raw and had absolutely no taste... Neither the rice nor the bulgur was successfully prepared, nor was the grill plate. We were completely outraged and just wanted to walk slowly. I also have to say that the guests to the right and left of us had the same culinary experience. The dishes we ordered were also inedible so that only the starter plate was the only highlight for these guests. Well, we thought, well, we'll just avoid this restaurant and leave as quickly as possible. Conclusion: The prices are absolutely too high and absolutely not justified and definitely not a recommendation from me! This restaurant and its staff is highly unqualified unless you want to ruin your evening! PS: Based on the owner's answer, I can tell that they don't care ;) so be very careful!

The food is simply great. We had grilled plates for 2 people and each meat was uniquely delicious. The service was totally attentive and courteous. We were there shortly before closing time and they let us eat in peace and served us well. We would definitely go there again.

After a stressful day we wanted to go out to eat there...everything was great until the police stormed in with 10 men!!! We had just gotten our food 5 minutes before and couldn't get started. Everything has become cold! Of course we've lost our appetite!!! Yes, the owner can't do anything about it, but I thought it was a disgrace that we still had to pay 70 euros!!!!😡 they could have at least accommodated us... At least that they only paid half 😖since we could hardly eat anything... .We left everything behind and just wanted to get away!!!!!

I can't understand all the hype, visually everything was ok, the bread and the starters were very exciting and tasty but the main courses didn't taste good. Dining at Saman Restaurant Cologne was one of the highlights of my trip to Germany! It was our first time trying Kurdish food, and it exceeded all our expectations. The food was absolutely fantastic—each dish was a flavor bomb! The portions were generous, and we were pleasantly surprised by the quantity served. Our meals came with a bit of theatre, as they were presented with impressive flair, complete with fire that added to the excitement. The aromas and flavors were simply unforgettable. Our server, Hama, was wonderful. He was friendly and attentive. His passion for the food made our experience even better. If you find yourself in Cologne, I highly recommend checking out Saman Restaurant. Do make a reservation as I noticed they are quite full even late afternoon.

We were not disappointed and everything from the service, friendliness, food and atmosphere were absolutely phenomenal. Highly recommended and would gladly return.

I was in a museum with a friend who was visiting from Berlin and then of course the important question came: “What are we going to eat now?”. We then researched the area via Google and came across this restaurant. Rating top, pictures of the food top - so go there. It was very busy when we arrived, which is why I would advise always securing a spot by making a reservation in advance. We were lucky and the owner or manager was kind enough to free us a table. The restaurant is very well organized and you can see how all the gears work. I think it's very positive when managers also get involved, so we also saw the person mentioned not only coordinating the employees, but also serving ready-made meals and trays. I ordered the Adana skewer with salad and everyone in my group ordered an appetizer with bread and dips. Zack - within 3 minutes we had it on the table and the bread is freshly swung over a dough flat like a kind of pizza for each customer and packed on the inside wall of the oven. The baker alone was worth a visit with his art of swinging each flatbread in a new and precise way. The staff are very attentive! After the main courses were there, we wanted to take a quick photo and were then asked by the baker if he should take a group photo for us. CLASS! The food tasted great and was of very good quality! All in all, it was simply a perfect visit to the restaurant and there is nothing to complain about. Very very well done and thank you for the great experience!

This grill restaurant was recommended by our hotel as one of the most popular Turkish restaurants in Cologne and I have to say it is absolutely justified! Although we hadn't booked a table in advance, we were finally able to enjoy it after a long wait and ordered 2 grill plates with plenty of vegetables, fries, rice, lots of vegetables - starter and main course. The food was deliciously prepared and the service overall was also more than satisfactory. All in all, an absolute top rating and I can only recommend this restaurant and I say that as someone who is particularly critical of Turkish cuisine because I grew up with it myself The only small drawback was the fact that unfortunately you couldn't pay by card because (supposedly) the internet doesn't work (don't you know other restaurateurs either? 😉) But it shouldn't spoil the joy of the evening...
