Saman Restaurant in Köln

We were at Zaman for lunch before Oktagon #78 and honestly couldn't have asked for a better place. The restaurant is just a few minutes from the Lanxess Arena, making it perfect if you want a proper meal before an event. I had the grill platter with kebab skewers and lamb skewers – and it was really great. The meat was grilled to perfection, super juicy, and wonderfully seasoned. There was no one-size-fits-all flavor, but truly authentic. The side dishes were also fresh and harmonious, and everything arrived hot and appetizingly. You can just tell that someone here knows their stuff. The ambiance is oriental-modern, with warm colors, pleasant background music, and a clean, well-maintained feel. The service was attentive, friendly, and took their time even with a full house – no rush, no stress. We were there with a few friends and felt really comfortable. It was exactly the blend of good food, a relaxed atmosphere, and friendly service you'd want before heading off to an event. We've made it clear: the next time we're in Cologne around the arena, we'll be back at Zaman. Highly recommended – five stars without hesitation!

Zaman stands out for its Middle Eastern-Mediterranean cuisine, which focuses on quality ingredients and grilled dishes: succulent, well-seasoned meat, fresh bread perfect for mopping up the sauce. Tender, delicious meat, impeccable cleanliness. Recommended: a mixed grill platter, a few mezze appetizers to share, and perhaps a light dessert to finish off the meal.

The meat dishes here are absolutely top-notch. I've never tasted anything like the lamb ribs and Adana, in particular.

My boyfriend and I went to the restaurant today. Even though we didn't have a reservation, we didn't have to wait. The interior is beautiful, the restrooms clean and modern. The service was excellent and friendly. The food is truly delicious, and it's a quiet and lovely place to go with the family. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to take photos of the food (we couldn't wait any longer). There aren't many options for vegetarians. This is truly a meat restaurant. If you're not in the mood for meat, it might not be the right place. The only downside: It's a bit more expensive than other restaurants, but the food and service are worth it. I highly recommend it. 👍🏻

OMG, I haven't had such delicious meat at a European restaurant in a long time. The kebabs deserve 10 out of 10, the spices, the cooking, the presentation, the staff, the portions are huge, the pita and the appetizers are a mouthwatering experience. Reservations are a must; it's a very popular place. We were very pleased.

The meat was delicious, one of the best I've ever had in a restaurant. The bread was also very good. The main course only came with a small amount of salad, but that was fine. The staff was friendly and attentive, and we felt very comfortable. The prices are a bit high, but quite reasonable given the good quality. Overall, a highly recommended restaurant that we would happily return to.

Simply the best Turkish restaurant I've ever visited. I've been there three times now, and I can only say that every meat lover will get their money's worth. Simply top-notch quality and flavor, too. One of the best rated restaurants I’ve ever seen, and the food was absolutely fantastic. The meat was exceptionally tasty and tender, I really wanted to ask for the recipes! The kitchen offers a selection of amazing spreads (hummus, babaganoush, ..) and a huge piece of bread immediately after ordering and some black tea at the end. Truly magnificent service.

Everything was good, but I didn't understand why a bottle of water wasn't included in the menu. In the end, we paid €10 for a liter of water, which seemed excessive to me. I still think it's a bit expensive.

The food was a real highlight: freshly prepared, perfectly seasoned, and beautifully presented. I especially recommend the mezze platter, which offers a fantastic selection of different starters – every bite was a delight. The main course was also outstanding: tender meat, aromatic side dishes, and authentic spices that immediately conjure up a holiday feeling. Very generous portions that are not only filling but also delicious 😊 I highly recommend Zaman / Saman!

You can argue about the prices, but you get what you pay for. The taste is top-notch, and the portion size is definitely filling.

The location was also visually appealing, and the meat presentation was particularly impressive. This is clearly the focus and core competency. The grilled meat was tender, juicy, and flavorful, so no sauces, dips, or anything similar were necessary. Add a few side dishes and the delicious bread, and we left the restaurant feeling well-fed and happy. In short, we had a great time. If we're ever in Cologne again, we'll definitely be back.
