We simply wanted to spend a pleasant evening with pizza and wine. I had personally reserved the table at the restaurant three weeks in advance. When we arrived on the day of the reservation, I was quite surprised when a very unfriendly waitress told us there was no reservation. I asked her to check the calendar again, and lo and behold, the reservation was actually in place. Someone had obviously made a mistake, but instead of apologizing, we were treated quite rudely. We were told to wait outside and she would call us when something was available. After waiting for 30 minutes, we asked if there was a table available. Again, we received a very unfriendly, loud reply that there was nothing available. Finally, we were offered a seat right at the pizza counter. It was extremely loud there because a birthday party was taking place behind us. But on a weekday, just before 8 p.m., we didn't have time to look for somewhere else. In the middle of our meal, a table became available, and we were allowed to move. The food was delicious, and so was the wine, but after all the back and forth, we couldn't really enjoy it. At the end, when we ordered dessert, my friend jokingly asked if we could maybe have a glass of Prosecco on the house as a small apology. When the owner's daughter brought us the desserts, she said you shouldn't ask for something like that—and that the desserts would be on the house anyway. No one had told us that beforehand. So it wasn't a nice gesture on her part; it only came after we had already ordered. To be honest, I went home pretty disappointed. Not by the food, but by the way we were treated. A restaurant doesn't just thrive on good food, but above all by its people. And that was exactly what was completely lacking that evening: it was unfriendly, disrespectful, and unpleasant. What a shame. The highlight came later that evening: After 10 p.m., I had three missed calls from an unknown number. I called back. It was the owner's daughter who wanted to justify herself and at the same time asked my friend to please delete her Google review.

People – the pizzas – are sooo delicious. A real pizza stone oven. The treats from the counter are – delicious. A good selection of cheeses and sausages. Prices are a bit high – but if you're expecting guests and don't feel like cooking, the counter is a delicious alternative. Go there and try it. Ho & Di

Unfortunately, it was a bitter disappointment. Despite having a reservation, we stood in the aisle for 30 minutes while others without reservations were allowed to sit comfortably. In the completely overcrowded restaurant, we couldn't even hear ourselves speak, which is certainly a matter of taste and not considered a negative. The food was okay, but certainly not earth-shattering. When we asked if we could have a glass of Prosecco on the house for the inconvenience, we were told that "they" don't do that. We definitely won't be coming back.

I had one of the best pizzas I've had in a long time at Salumeria Italiana! The crust was perfect, the toppings were high-quality and carefully selected – simply delicious. The service was also extremely friendly, attentive, and warm, making you feel welcome from the very first moment. The ambiance is stylish, cozy, and exudes true Italian flair. An all-around successful evening – I'll definitely be back. I highly recommend it!

The food was delicious—fresh ingredients and attention to detail—but also very expensive. The crême brûlée is amazing. The Lagrein wine was delicious; it wasn't on the menu, but they served it anyway. Excellent drink recommendations. The herbal liqueur is also very pleasantly mild. Parking is available right outside for cars and bicycles.

Great location with a great concept. Unfortunately, it's a bit hidden. We discovered it today and were shocked to learn that it's been around for 25 years. What have we been missing? It's worth a visit for a bite to eat there or to take away. Lovingly prepared antipasti and smaller dishes with lots of humor and ideas. The whole place is decorated with lots of charm. They also serve main courses, and we'll definitely try them all on our next visit. Until then, best wishes.

The pizza is excellent. Fresh ingredients, and the pizza chef brought us a pizza that tastes great and makes your body feel so good, the kind only fresh ingredients can. The Etna wine is very good for us and delicious. The ambiance is very nice, quiet, and relaxed. We had very friendly and prompt service, who even advised us on the wine. We arrived shortly before 8:30 p.m. and didn't know when the kitchen would close, but the pizza arrived quickly, and as mentioned above, we were very pleased. We went yesterday :) We both ordered the pizza Toscana (seasonal pizza) and weren't exactly blown away. The dough was more sticky than crispy, and the toppings were a bit disappointing for 18.50 a pizza. The table was wobbly, so I took down the decorations. The waitress welcomed us with the comment, "I don't come into your living room and move things around." All in all, we had a lovely evening. P.S.: If you'd like vegetarian options, please ask specifically.

Overall a cool shop with a nice idea. Daily changing menu with regional specialties and an Italian touch. Unfortunately I can't understand the hype. We've been there several times now and really frustrated the last two times. A restaurant that is always full and a boss who always looks like it's raining for 7 days and where you almost want to apologize for being there. Lydia, the waitress, is very helpful and friendly, but unfortunately she can't do it alone! The last time we sat with empty plates for 20 minutes and even the boss walked past several times without clearing up. My highlight yesterday: another attempt - because the menu sounded good on Instagram - unfortunately there was a different menu on site (there was no time to post an update). When asked how the cherry-tomato-basil spritz with vinegar tasted or whether it was sweet despite the vinegar, the waiter unfortunately only had an answer after many questions. The pizza was ok, but unfortunately it doesn't have the desired price-performance ratio! Service and hospitality - especially on the part of the owners - should urgently be improved!

I've been thinking about writing a review for a long time, but I'm just angry about the way the customers are treated. This was the fourth time in a row that I was at the “Salumeria Italiana” in Leipzig and each time we were met with such unfriendliness that my friend and I were simply horrified. The products there are excellent and were always a hit, which is why we really enjoyed shopping there. The employees in the wine department were also very friendly and took time for us. However, the saleswomen at the meat/cheese counter treated us as if they were extremely annoyed with us. People hardly dared to ask anything else. I will definitely not be entering this store again and will look for a store where you are warmly welcomed.

We came across this fantastically friendly restaurant/delicatessen more or less by chance and really enjoyed eating with friends. There is actually everything a connoisseur's heart desires... lots of great products from small manufacturers. The concept of restaurant and shop in combination is really great and when we are back in Leipzig, a visit to you is now a must!

Highly recommended! And a very good price for the high quality offered. Yes, it's not a vegan student digs (see one review), but a bistro with a delicatessen, featuring outstanding, predominantly Italian meats and cheeses. The bistro selection is limited to a few standard items and a daily specials menu—but everything is very tasty and even quite reasonably priced. I personally find the high chairs (inside) a bit uncomfortable. Sitting outside is in the sun. While it only has a view of the houses and the sparsely used courtyard parking lot (there's no other option), it's still pleasantly quiet, with almost no traffic.

The information regarding opening times or “pizza times” is quite difficult to find and should urgently be communicated more clearly on the website and on Instagram to avoid disappointment. Pizza is currently only available Thursday to Sunday! In the evenings it is better to make reservations for these days.

This is really delicious Italian cuisine. The card is small, but the quality is extremely high. Whether pizza, pasta, cheese, fish or meat, everything tastes good! We went again the following day. On the second evening, the daily menu included pickled wild boar saddle with pumpkin and mashed potatoes. I have never eaten such delicious wild boar. I was thrilled! The staff is also friendly and helpful. If you're not sure about the wine, you can try it before you buy it. Everything just fits there. The prices are a bit high, but the food and drinks are worth every cent you pay there.

I recently visited this restaurant and can only recommend it. The pizza was really excellent - the dough was perfect, the toppings were fresh and delicious. I also really liked the ambience, especially the combination with the delicatessen creates a cozy atmosphere. Even though there wasn't actually any space available, they rearranged something so that we could still get a space. The service was very friendly and attentive. All in all, a pleasant experience that I would happily repeat.

First visit to Salumeria Italiana: Pleasant atmosphere and delicious food, which, however, does not correspond to the price-performance ratio. In addition, our evening with friends was accompanied by a negative aftertaste - the lady made subliminal condescending comments while serving us and the wine cooler was missing. But that wasn't the highlight: During the payment process, we politely asked whether it was possible to give a tip via card, and we were then answered with the cheeky comment that it made no difference at all with this "small amount". We would have had to ask for the tip back for this sentence! Conclusion: We won't be coming back.

It was a very nice evening. Our friends loved it and will definitely come back. Unfortunately I can only give you 5 points, you deserve 10. See you next time.

We actually wanted to eat somewhere else, but the other Italians were closing on Tuesday. That's why we spontaneously found this small restaurant via Google search. Google location wasn't entirely accurate as it was in a backyard. But once you find it everything is great. The food was super delicious. Absolute insider tip! The map isn't huge but what they have is of quality and also costs you. But no more than in other restaurants and in my opinion the quality is better. The ambience was also super nice inside. It's basically a delicatessen with a restaurant area. Both dishes were really delicious and also very filling (I'm a glutton)! I'll be going here more often now. Service was also good. It was a shame that they closed at 7 p.m. on Tuesdays, but despite showing up at 6 p.m. we still managed it easily and without being pushed. Ps: I'm not really an iced tea drinker and the combination sounded strange but it was also super tasty and recommended 😉 Thank you and good luck 🙏

The place actually has a lot of potential. The menu is always incredibly creative! Unfortunately, yesterday the pasta was missing the highly advertised mountain cheese and was swimming in oil. The pizza was also missing an ingredient. The wine was too warm. We also had a special reservation in the left wing, but were seated directly at the pizza oven despite the store being almost completely empty. Unfortunately, our former enthusiasm is fading more and more. Too bad.

Incredibly good! Excellent, unusual pizza with pumpkin puree and Jerusalem artichoke chips. Beef tongue was also delicious. Drinks also very good - delicious non-alcoholic beer from Quartiermeister and delicious homemade lemonade. Also very friendly and quiet.

A table for two was quickly reserved by phone and, as it turned out, necessary for Saturday evening. The welcome was warm and the first impression was right. The concept and implementation of the Salumeria is almost perfect and is even exceeded by the friendliness of the service. We felt very comfortable and would love to come back.

Food, atmosphere was good. We wanted to celebrate a birthday there, but we weren't allowed to eat the cake in this restaurant because "food brought from outside was forbidden." Never heard of it. Isn't it appropriate to celebrate a birthday with cake in a restaurant?

The Salumeria is a wonderful place to buy delicious small appetizers to take away, drink local products such as Günthrini and enjoy the most delicious pizza and other Italian products with high quality wines and other drinks. Pleasant and attentive service.

I have very mixed feelings about this place. On the one hand, it's pretty nicely decorated, and I like the look of it as a delicatessen in and of itself. However, there are only five tables on the outside terrace, which borders the parking lot. The food seems to be of very high quality and tastes good too. However, the prices are quite overpriced, which is a shame. You would like to try your way through the fairly clear menu, but you give up pretty quickly as soon as you look at the prices and then listen to the waitress' comments if you want to share an appetizer plate, because the portions are really small. The appetizer platter in one photo costs 13 euros, which is really excessive. Unfortunately we couldn't try the pizza as it's only available from Thursday. For vegetarians and vegans, the choice becomes really tight. The service cannot be described as particularly friendly. However, it must be said that the dishes are very nicely prepared. The flower often indicates that work is about to end. It's a shame, maybe it'll be better next time...

Exceptional Italian restaurant with a gigantic deli counter. You feel like you have been transported to Italy and the atmosphere invites you to linger and taste the wine.

A welcoming Italian restaurant in a nice backyard factory atmosphere. During my last visit a week ago, I was treated very courteously and friendly and felt well advised. Unfortunately, upon closer inspection, the product I purchased did not meet my expectations. I supposedly bought pizza flour (2 packs), but the packaging said Semola. So I couldn't make the pizza dough as planned, but had to go to another shop near me the next morning. To clarify this situation, I went to the Salumeria again today. At first there was a normal conversation with an employee in which another woman from the staff suddenly and uninvited intervened, but she was immediately quite annoyed and accused me of saying that the product was definitely flour (the label was clearly semola) and that I had already opened it anyway ( That wasn't the case either). As I leave out here, she simply opened one of my packages without asking and, as if to prove it, took out some of the white powder. It didn't really look like semola, but there are differences. Besides, I hadn't opened the packaging, assuming it contained Semola. I was then allowed to exchange my other pack for Farina in addition to the one I had now opened. I don't know what I'll do with the 2 packs, one opened. Because I don't feel like eating pizza anymore. But especially not in the Salumeria Italiana. Too bad!

We had dinner here with friends last night and were unfortunately very disappointed. There were five of us and we had asked for a larger plate of starters - unfortunately the selection was clearly not enough for five people. (Two slices of salami, two slices of ham, two pieces of cheese..) Unfortunately, the choice of bread for the starter was also nothing - very dry and not fresh. We were even more excited about the pasta with the figs... Unfortunately not a highlight either. Very very small portion, the sauce was watery and unseasoned. Unfortunately, for €16.50/portion there is not enough love and taste. Such a shame because the menu sounded very promising. The Pinot Blanc was very tasty. We left the store a little disappointed and hungry. For €36 per person, we thought we would leave the restaurant full and satisfied and would be happy to come back.

Update September 2024: Unfortunately, the quality of the food has declined. We had to wait an hour for our main course on a virtually empty Saturday afternoon. Risotto with mussels that only tasted of celery and white wine and a lukewarm chanterelle lasagne on the side. The service was forgetful and unfortunately a bit clumsy throughout. We always enjoyed coming here, but unfortunately the salumeria has become worse on several levels. Old review: Here you cook with heart. And recommends with heart. And did I mention that it tastes excellent? An upscale restaurant in Leipzig whose quality I really appreciate. Thank you very much!

I haven't experienced such a great culinary establishment in a long time. We were invited to a family celebration here. Delicious Italian cuisine paired or influenced by German and/or Austrian cuisine - simply wonderful and delicious! You can also buy everything you need here: wines, oils, pesto, cheese, spices, canned vegetables, cold cuts... ... and really lovely and nice staff, they really take care of you, fantastic! Of course, it must be mentioned that quality also has its price. By the way, the location was the production site of Wilhelm Horn's brandy and liqueur factory from Leipzig. As far as I know, they are now the owner/operator/owner of the location Bayerischer Bahnhof c in Leipzig. Well, I'm done.

For me one, if not the best shop in Leipzig for regional & Italian specialties. The pizza is also highly recommended, although it is only available from Thursday evening to Saturday. The changing lunch menu with 3 main dishes and selected regional ingredients is always a pleasure, and the wine shop has the right wine for every dish. If I could, I would give 10 stars. Very tasty pizza and interesting selection of drinks. Lots of regional and special things. The associated shop invites you to buy drinks to take home while you eat. The service was extremely nice. We were here at lunchtime and had a free choice of seats, but I can imagine that without a reservation it would be difficult to get a seat in the evening.

Had some delicious anti-pasti and pizza in a very atmospheric location. The staff was super helpful to recommend us wine which we really enjoyed as well. Overall it was an amazing evening. I can recommend Salumeria Italiana wholeheartedly and I'll revisit it as soon as possible.

Nachdem wir 20 Minuten an einem nicht abgeräumten Tisch saßen musste ich zur Kasse gehen, darum bitten den Tisch endlich abzuräumen und vielleicht mal eine Speisekarte zu bringen. Die Chefin stand völlig unbeteiligt und nicht sehr gastfreundlich daneben. Die Kellnerin fand dann auch Zeit, den Tisch abzuräumen und uns zu bedienen. Alles in allem kann ich den Hype um die angeblich so gute Pizza nicht verstehen. Die Pizza war mittelmäßig, nicht gerade günstig und von durchschnittlicher Qualität. Leider war der Boden völlig durchnässt und matschig. Der Service ist wirklich zu wünschen übrig, die Kellnerin sollte man vielleicht einmal zu einem Benimmkurs (wie gehe ich mit Gästen um) schicken. Wir sind nun einmal dort gewesen, müssen da aber nicht mehr hin. Es gibt wesentlich bessere Alternativen mit viel viel besserem Service.

We have known Salumeria Italiana for 5 years and were always happy to be guests when we were still on Stallbaumstrasse. Because we're moving, we haven't been able to test out the new location yet and have taken half a day off for lunch today so that we can go out for a romantic meal without children, remembering old times. I had already looked online and checked the opening times, what surprised me was the promise of the weekly/daily menu on Instagram/Facebook, but there are hardly any uploads there apart from advertising for third-party providers. According to the online presence, the Salumeria restaurant was supposed to open at 11 a.m. on Friday, but when we arrived at 11:30 a.m. everything was strangely empty. We took a seat, looked at the menu and found a note saying that there are no pizzas, main courses or anything similar before 12 p.m. When I asked the lady at the counter with a screenshot of the website and Google Maps whether it wouldn't be very strange to talk about the restaurant's opening times even though the food wasn't available until an hour later, they didn't even look at their cell phone or use one I thought about the answer but replied relatively harshly: Well, the kitchen doesn't open until 12 p.m. When I further asked whether it would be okay for you that we take half a day off and then feel unwanted here because of a poorly managed online presence, she wanted to discuss with me that "restaurant opening time does not have to mean 11 a.m "that there is already food at 11 o'clock". That was so incomprehensible and cheeky to me that we left the Salumeria and didn't come back. What once began as a family shop on just a few square meters with lovingly collected products has now mutated into one of Gohlis's abundant high snobility hotspots, where the friendliness on offer is measured by the size of the car, which at best is parked directly in front of the shop. The nice lady at the counter would have had many opportunities to defuse the situation, even if it had just been a small snack to bridge the waiting time and a promise to talk to the owners to make the opening times more transparent. She just didn't care at all even though the store was empty. For us, after years of waiting, it was a disillusionment and we lost our appetite, because high prices also require high service.

I was on a short trip to Leipzig and a good friend recommended that we go there. We ordered a lunch platter from the chef 3 days in advance. It was sensationally prepared, the roast beef was perfect. The respective salads, ham, cheese and antipasti were outstanding and absolutely top quality. The service and the ambience are cozy and at the same time ultra-modern. Maximum insider tip I can only recommend it!!

I'll start with the fact that I called to order a table, everything was super nice, I was immediately told that it would be full that evening and whether I would like an appetizer for everyone. I approved this. Then we arrived today and ordered a drink, ordered food and were ready, then the waitress came and said oh yes, you ordered an appetizer, would you like to take it with you. We did this too, but I find a small box for 4 people for €48 very expensive. (Box see picture) We also ate these, but unfortunately they weren't all to our liking, which was a shame, especially for this price. But now to the good stuff, the drinks were cool and delicious. There was no normal Cola, just Fritz and another kind, that was great, nothing standard. The non-alcoholic Hefeweizen was also very good, cold and nice and malty, not like every other Hefeweizen in terms of taste. Now about the pizza, I had a Spinacci pizza, this was one of the best pizzas I have ever eaten. The atmosphere here is also very nice, with arches in the room and great windows, a real pizza oven and much more. All in all very satisfied, perfect evening, but the starter was still a shame. The menu changes every week from Thursday to Saturday and there are different pizzas 🍕 from the stone oven every week. The pizzas are always delicious, you can also order them, pick them up and eat them at home. The cheese selection is good and tasty 😋 as well as the antipasti at the counter. Like the other reviewers, we don't find the high chairs that comfortable, if the weather is nice we recommend sitting outside on the normal chairs. The service is very friendly but sometimes not attentive enough, but that's completely okay for us as the sympathy prevails. We are regular guests or customers at the Salumeria and are pleased to have found the Salumeria near us.

Italians in the backyard of Leipzig:) with charm, damn good food. The restaurant invites you to linger and drink a glass of wine or two.

Nice place, pleasant atmosphere. Service not great but ok. Unfortunately, the prices are far too high and the price-performance ratio is not appropriate. Would you like an example? If, in addition to two starter plates for the proud price of (!) 22 euros each, 10 wafer-thin slices of white bread cost 2.20 euros each per person (i.e. a total of 4.40 euros for the 10 slices). The two of us paid a mere 80 euros for a glass of white wine.

I recommend making a reservation in good time. I don't understand why the ambience is being criticized here. It's a small shop with a restaurant. It's just great that you can also enjoy food on site. Small but very nice card. We come regularly when something is free ;-)

Incredibly good food and lovely staff. You can feast well in a quiet and cozy environment. The pizzas in particular leave nothing to be desired. The prices are very fair.

The food is good. The pizza with scissors takes some getting used to. If you are familiar with the products from the freshness paradise, such as the red herring salad, they are nothing new. The staff is friendly. It's always difficult to get a place, especially on weekends. We didn't really like the atmosphere on the high chairs.

Poor, poorly organized service! Nice service, but completely overwhelmed with normal drinks/food orders. All of the service staff present in the restaurant were at the table at some point, which led to double orders or lost orders and endless waiting times. E.g. no requests at the table for drinks to be replenished. The pasta dish was ok, there was a single lake of oil on the pizzas and it sat like a stone in the stomach. There is still room for improvement.

Super tasty pizza, very nice staff and a very nice restaurant at a good price, gladly again!
