Salentu - Mediterranean Pizza & More in Kelkheim (Taunus)

We have been regularly picking up pizza and salad from Salentu or having them delivered for almost 2 years. One thing we can say with certainty after more than 50 orders – the quality is consistently incredibly high! The concept is very modern and in general there is something for everyone, including more unusual creations such as avocado cream, vegan mozzarella alternative or wholemeal dough (one of our favorites in this composition). I have never seen anything like this in such good quality anywhere else, not even in big cities. The ingredients are always fresh, especially in the salads. The atmosphere on site is relaxed and friendly, just as you would expect. Therefore, a clear recommendation and we will continue to get our pizza here regularly!

No really, now you get a table for two, basically in the door, for three people. Of course, you have to fill everything if you can't get enough. I have no business here anymore!

The restaurant has received many praises - for us it wasn't a special experience. It's very tight in the restaurant. The service was hectic; the pizza was lukewarm and not seasoned well. In contrast, the steak was very good. My comment about the lukewarm pizza was received indifferently. I got the impression that the restaurateur has lost his touch a little. Addition based on the restaurant's answer: The pizza was not cold but lukewarm. And eating with my family was more important to me than getting a new pizza and keeping them waiting. In my opinion, you should notice at the pass if a dish doesn't meet your needs. If the guest notices, it is too late.

The food was okay, but the service was unfortunately disappointing. After only 1.5 hours we were more or less thrown out, even though we hadn't finished eating yet. Apparently because new guests came - there were still several tables available. Dealing with paying guests like this is not possible and leaves a very negative impression. Unfortunately not a restaurant that I would recommend.

Beautifully decorated, a bit cramped when the place is full but honestly: I'd rather be in a full and nice restaurant than an empty one ;). The pizza is extremely tasty and well made and there are special variations. Finally a Neapolitan pizza here in Kelkheim!

The atmosphere is super cozy and the staff is extremely friendly and attentive. The pizza with avocado & salmon was a real highlight - perfectly crispy dough, fresh ingredients and an ingenious flavor combination! There is also a great selection of wines that round the whole thing off perfectly. If you love high-quality and creative pizzas, you've come to the right place. Absolute recommendation! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We have ordered here several times and were initially very impressed. Finally a delicious Neapolitan pizza. The dough is still very tasty and we also like the whole grain version very much. Unfortunately, the dough is often burned beyond acceptable levels, especially with the wholemeal versions. The delivery time was 30 minutes longer than stated (this can happen), unfortunately the pizza arrived lukewarm/cold. We also had to add some seasoning to the pizza. The side salad is very tasty. In itself a good pizzeria with potential, unfortunately not always.

The Salentu restaurant has recently been renovated and expanded. The interior is now even more inviting, modern and elegant. However, a special highlight of the restaurant remains the food and the staff. All employees are extremely competent, work quickly, yet precisely and professionally. The food was delicious before, but now it is simply fantastic and almost perfect. I have made numerous trips around the world - from Asia to Europe to America, and especially to Italy several times. With my experience in numerous Italian restaurants worldwide, including at least 10 Michelin star restaurants, I can say that the quality of Salentu food is even better/tastier than Michelin restaurants. An absolute recommendation. I'm happy that I live nearby.

This incredibly good restaurant is located about 30 minutes outside of Frankfurt. I was skeptical about whether it was worth driving out so long just to eat, but I was proven wrong. This is the best pizza I can remember! The service is very courteous and friendly, the atmosphere is very pleasant with enough space and the prices are also very good. I'm looking forward to coming back here soon. 😍 5/5

My absolute favorite Italian! The San Marco was already wonderful and now that Salentu and San Marco have “fused”, the concept is perfect for me. I love the facility and the young team is passionate about it! There's always a great atmosphere and the food is simply great. Honest, authentic and modern!

Dear Salentu team, We ordered from you for the first time on Saturday and were thrilled! Delivery took about 45 minutes and even though the prices are higher, the food was phenomenal - incredibly tasty. On Tuesday we were so impressed that we ordered the same meal again: a Tokyo pizza for €18.50 and pappardelle veal in sage for €13.00. This time delivery took 30 minutes. Unfortunately, this time the order was less pleasant: the delivery person didn't have enough change and searched for a long time in his pockets. Finally I told him that he could keep the money to resolve the situation. Perhaps it would make sense to better provide drivers with change to avoid situations like this. While we were waiting for the change, my pizza got completely cold - a shame. The quality of the pizza also didn't match the first order. The teriyaki, which tasted amazing the first time, was barely noticeable this time. In the pasta, the sage flavor was also far too weak, and instead an excessive amount of pepper dominated, making the dish almost inedible. With a total price of €31.50 for a pizza and a pasta, I expect the quality of the food to be consistent. Unfortunately, these irregularities disappointed us and we will now think twice about ordering from you again or switching to another provider. I hope you take this review positively and work to keep the quality of your food consistent. Update – December 15, 2024: Today we ordered again, hoping that the food would be as good as the first time we ordered. Unfortunately, it was another disappointing attempt. We ordered the same thing as last time. We emphasized on the phone that we were disappointed last time and would be happy about careful preparation this time. About the pizza: Unfortunately it arrived completely cold. About the noodles: The sage flavor was again hardly present. At least our request for less pepper was taken into account this time. I then immediately called the restaurant. He answered the phone straight away. But the first thing I said was “just wait a minute” and I had to wait 5 minutes before I could even express my criticism. When I said that the pizza arrived cold and the pasta didn't taste good, the gentleman on the phone immediately replied that "that couldn't be right" - a statement that implied I was lying. I demanded either a new pizza or my money back. After consulting with the boss, I was promised that I would get all the money back. I was assured a wait of around 30 minutes for the refund. However, the driver only arrived after about an hour. However, there was no mention of the food having to be returned. The driver said that I should give him the pizza and pasta back. (I've never heard of other restaurants saying that they have to do something like that) At this point I had already warmed up the pizza in the oven and eaten it because I was very hungry. Of the pasta, only five pastas were tried. The driver called his boss, who then wanted to speak to me. The boss accused me of having already eaten the pizza, which was “unacceptable”. (Sorry, but at €18 for a pizza, I expect it to be delivered warm and not for me to have to heat it up myself.) The boss didn't respond to my further criticism at all. Instead, he explained to me that he would no longer serve me as a customer in the future because he “didn’t care” about my dissatisfaction. He even said that he already had enough customers and he didn't care about my opinion. Ultimately we received our money back. Nevertheless, we are extremely disappointed and can definitely NOT recommend the store. Unfortunately, customer service and satisfaction don't seem to be a priority there.

We have ordered from this Italian restaurant several times in the past. We were absolutely thrilled the first two times - the food was outstanding, even if it wasn't cheap. However, the price was definitely worth it because of the quality. Unfortunately we were disappointed with our last two orders. After the quality didn't meet our expectations the second time, we pointed this out by phone when ordering again and gave the restaurant another chance. Unfortunately, my partner's pizza (€18) was cold again and the pasta (€13.50) was mediocre. After calling we were not offered a replacement pizza, just a refund. Instead of waiting 30 minutes, we had to wait an hour and then had to return the food. The highlight, however, was the conversation with the boss. Instead of responding to our criticism, he reacted in a less customer-oriented manner and basically said that our dissatisfaction would probably remain. He also informed us that he would no longer supply us in the future. The supplier (in complete contrast to his boss) was very responsive to us and 10/10 personable. Conclusion: We got our money back, but we won't be ordering here again. It's a shame because we were really excited at the beginning, but the way we dealt with criticism and the lack of customer friendliness left us very disappointed.

The online menu is so well done, I've never seen it before. Not only is there a clear view, you can even switch to full screen mode. The map is beautifully, stylishly and variedly designed. Not just scanned but designed for this purpose. It is clearly structured and contains all the necessary information, even for uneducated customers like me there are explanations, but experienced customers don't bother reading them. The operation is unnecessarily well designed, you can change pages using the touchscreen, but also using the mouse wheel, clicking, swiping with the mouse,... I wouldn't be surprised if clapping would also work. Last but not least, the sound when turning the pages is simply heavenly. I have never turned a page so beautifully, especially not digitally. I sat in front of the online menu for probably 5 minutes and clicked back and forth because I was enchanted. I'm completely serious, that's not a given and it's worth a lot! Food is good too.

Anyone who still knows the old San Marco will miss something here. The typical Italian warmth is gone. No matter how good the quality is, sorry, but at these prices I expect that too. Unfortunately, the topic of “ice cream” became a byproduct here. It's a shame, you can tell that sales are the priority here.

Only the very best ingredients are used! The pizza is simply unbeatable; Even with whole wheat dough it's amazing. Pasta and salads are also highly recommended. An absolute hit for me and my taste I can't criticize anything here

The pizza is really delicious, we had a nice evening. Unfortunately, towards the end we were told rather unpleasantly that we now had to pay so that they could pass on the table. If you leave more than €100 on site, I think something like this could be worded more beautifully.

The food arrived cold two hours later. This was the third time that either the pasta was completely cooked or the pizza was soggy and cold. The man on the phone also tends to get the address wrong. For the prices you can certainly expect more service and quality.

We have been guests at Salentu many times, both before and after the renovation work. We tried various pizzas, starters and desserts. There wasn't a dish that we didn't give 5 out of 5 stars. I have never been able to eat pizza that is so well crafted and, above all, so consistently good. Fluffy dough, high-quality ingredients and special toppings that you won't find in other "pizzerias". Our highlight is definitely the Pizza Carbonara, which we always enjoy going back to. After the renovation work, the premises were expanded and new dishes were added to the menu. So nothing stands in the way of trying out the new dishes again. The service staff is super friendly, the atmosphere is familiar and always something special. We'd love to come back! At this point, a big thank you again to the entire Salentu team for various culinary unforgettable evenings!

We had lunch at Salentu for the first time. A friend recommended it to us. We weren't disappointed. Very tasty fresh salads and great pizzas with exceptionally fresh ingredients. In addition, very attentive and polite service. Really great. We will be happy to come back.

We didn't have much time, so we spontaneously decided to go to the first place we came across on the way back home. And lo and behold: a truly lucky find! We ordered 4 pizzas and everyone was very satisfied. Definitely an above-average pizza, you can't complain at all here.

The pizza on site was perfect at a reasonable price. The delivery service was a disaster - twice too late despite a phone call and delivery within the city, pizza lukewarm and soggy and the driver was fully focused on the payment. The ice cream is simply too expensive - at least 1.8 euros per normal-sized scoop? And we're not talking about gold leaf or organic goods...

So let's be honest. If you're not completely satisfied with this pizza, then I honestly don't know what else they can offer you. What a great, flavorful dough alone. Then great quality fennel salami, ham and Parma ham; Clearly no goods from the metro around the corner. In addition, there is clearly recognizable creativity in the composition of the ingredients to create unique pizza creations. I wouldn't be surprised if this pizzeria appears as a recommendation in the Michelin Guide at some point. Brilliant pizza. Please definitely try it out and continue to support us. I live about 10 minutes from here and need this pizza in my life for the next 60 years.

Great pizza! Good service and very cozy small

Friday 7:30 p.m. our first visit. Nice service with a full house. Ordered drinks. We had to remember to bring the glasses, only the water bottle was left on the table. Ordered food with starter and then everything came together. Of course the table is too small for everything. An oversight was excused. We hadn't touched the vitello, so we had it packed up to take away. It was packed in a very pretty box with a transparent lid, better scraped together and smeared into the box. This was pointed out to the waiter and he agreed that it no longer looked good or tasty. He asked if we were there first, yes we wanted to test it. Then see you next time. Rating: The pizza was very light and well baked. The Vitello with a heap of cream that was far too solid was completely destroyed thanks to the art of wrapping. Noodles with strips of beef very well baked strips. Juicy and with roasted aromas. Wine overpriced at 7 euros and up for 0.2 cl. Lugana 8 euros, people leave the church in the village! The Landen is conveniently located on the railway and is packed, so nothing will change for the time being. I still think it's a shame that everyone tries to make the most of it. We'll definitely get some pizza/pasta, but otherwise the service didn't convince me. The prices must include service and attention to the house. But that's just my opinion.

Delicious ice cream and good pizza, nice atmosphere after reopening

If you don't want to miss out on delicious Italian cuisine, you're in good hands here. Quality-wise the best pizza I've ever eaten. The dough is so airy and the ingredients are incredibly fresh! Pizzas are also offered that are not available elsewhere. That's what makes it so special! We were there from Frankfurt on a Tuesday and the restaurant was very busy. A reservation definitely makes sense. I had the truffle pasta and it was really very tasty. Of course, there was room left for dessert and the homemade fresh tiramisu and pistachio tiramisu are really worth their weight in gold - the mascarpone is nice and firm, nothing is watery, everything is very juicy and fresh. The service is great, all the employees and the owner are very attentive and of course rotate due to the high number of visitors, but no one was forgotten or there was no long waiting time. Really very friendly! I'm looking forward to next time!

Since the renovation it has always been full and reservations should be made in advance. The pizzas and ice cream are delicious and also have their price. Everyone has to decide for themselves whether this is justified and okay for them.

Very unfriendly staff. We had to change tables three times. We thought for our money we could eat somewhere else where we wouldn't have to change places three times. It's a shame to lose customers like that.

We have been going to Salentu for a long time and love the pizzas. We wanted to try out the new San Marco after the renovation, the pizza was first class as always, but it was extremely loud, the cutlery that the staff put in the cutlery drawer was so loud and basically it's not possible to have a conversation given the background noise ! We then asked whether the music could be at least a little quieter, but that was agreed upon straight away and we weren't the only ones. A real shame...

Actually, I should be mad at Salentu because I can never eat at another Italian restaurant again. There is simply no better pizza. Point. We've been coming for years and when we have visitors, the first place we always take them is here. Would give 10 stars if I could!

What can I say - this is by far the best pizza I've eaten in Germany so far. Here you won't find the standard pizza at the Italian restaurant around the corner, but one made according to the original. Pizza prepared Neapolitan style with dough ripening for 48 hours. The ingredients are also all very high quality - where else can you find a pizza with guanciale... As a follow-up in summer, Cafe Leccese is also highly recommended!

Speciality: Pizza in unusual variations and first class quality. I had pizza "white", i.e. without the obligatory 🍅 sauce, with salmon and avocado cream on top. Excellent. Stylish interior and modern ambience, service fast and attentive. Prices good for the quality. Be sure to reserve, otherwise no chance.

Since we ate pizza at Salentu once, we don't want any other pizza! But it's not just the pizzas that are exceptionally good. So far everything has tasted really good, tasty and fresh. The ambience is also beautiful and the service is unbeatable. The Salentu is a real asset to Kelkheim and will hopefully exist for many, many years to come. We really enjoy coming here. Excellent Pizza. Fantastic ingredients, perfect base, very nice and friendly service. It is one of the best pizza I have eaten in Germany. I am not a pizza lover but this one is something that I really enjoyed. I will really recommend and we will for sure come back. We had 3 pizza, 5 soft drinks, 2 deserts, 2 expresso - 79 euro. I do not think it was expensive at all for such good pizza.

Very cozy little restaurant with fantastic pizza. Delicious pizza variations baked with fresh and traditional Italian ingredients. One of the best pizzas I've eaten outside of Italy. The restaurant specializes in pizza, which means that, apart from antipasti/salad as a starter, there is only pizza on the menu - even for dessert (unfortunately I was too full, next time I will plan the Nutella/strawberries/powdered sugar pizza) . I think the prices are absolutely right for the quality you get. The service was also excellent and, always important to me, you can pay by card.

Die Auswahl; so speziell aber dennoch rund in den Zutaten, dass es wirklich ein Gaumenfreude entfacht hat. Auch das Ambiente und das Personal ink. dem Chef haben den Abend nochmal das gewisse etwas verpasst. Hier werden wir nicht das letzte mal gegessen haben.

Einfach Klasse.. .. Die Pizzen sind einfach der Hammer.... Auch die Vorspeisen Platte für 2 Personen haben mich wieder einmal begeistert. Zum Abschluss gabs eine Nutella Pizza mit Pistaziencreme.... Dafür lohnt es sich aus Rodgau hierher zu fahren. Danke für so viel Liebe in eurem Lokal.... Hanni

Wir waren für eine Feier mit 10 Leuten dort. Es gab ein Pizza-Tasting: Unterschiedliche Pizzen auf den Tisch und jeder kann davon probieren. So kann man unterschiedliche Pizzen probieren und muss nicht eine ganze essen, wenn man nicht so viel Hunger hat. Die Pizzen haben sehr außergewöhnliche, leckere Beläge (z.B. Parmaschinken, Feigen, Walnüsse und Parmesankäse). Haben alle supergut geschmeckt.

Sehr leckeres Essen, tolles Personal

Wir waren unter der Woche zum Mittagessen vor Ort. Es war der erste Besuch vor Ort, wir hatten sonst nur liefern lassen. Der Pizzateig ist hervorragend und der Belag, wie immer Geschmacksache. Uns hat es sehr gut geschmeckt. Es ist kein Ristorante, sondern eine Pizzeria, das muss man schon beachten. Sitzplätze sind nicht so zahlreich. Die Qualität des Essens ist jedoch molto bene!

Super leckere Pizza, va wenn man mal "was anderes" essen möchte. Leider nur 4 Tische und die Toilette ist in der Eisdiele neben dran. Im Sommer kein Problem, aber im Winter überlegt man es sich genau wann man zur Toilette geht. Auch sollte man abends immer einen Tisch reservieren. Daher bestellen wir gerne die Pizza nach Hause.

Eine der besten Pizzen, die wir je gegessen haben. Sehr dünner Teig und dennoch knusprig. Etwas beengt zum Sitzen, aber die meisten Bestellungen sind to-Go.

Hier merkt man, wie viel Arbeit in den Details steckt. Frische Zutaten, Vollkornteig, vegane und vegetarische Speisen und sehr aufmerksames Personal. Auch das Restaurant nebenan, ebenfalls im Besitz der gleichen Familie, ist hervorragend. Wir kommen gerne und nehmen 45 km Fahrt pro Strecke gerne für diese einmalige Location in Kauf :)

Pizza auf den Punkt. Das Salentu ist voll auf Pizza fokussiert, denn neben einigen Antipasti und Desserts gibt es "nur" Pizzen. Davon aber viele Varianten, Klassiker, kreative Neuinterpretationen, auch in weiß, sowie die Möglichkeit, sich seine Pizza komplett selbst zu konfigurieren. Die Pizza hat eine stattliche Größe, einen hohen und knusprigen Rand, und der Teig ist herzhaft. Die Zutaten sind von guter Qualität und Frische. Das hat überzeugt! Der kleine Gastraum hat eine Handvoll Tische, dazu noch eine kleine überdachte Terrasse. Die Einrichtung ist modern und geschmackvoll. Ein freundlicher und aufmerksamer Service rundet den guten Eindruck ab.

Ich war heute mit meiner Frau und meinen Eltern vor Ort. Wir sind in der letzten Zeit in vielen verschiedenen italienischen Restaurants, in diesem stimmte einfach alles.
