Salento - Ristorante Pizzeria in Oberasbach

We (5 people) ate there for the first time today. It was 1x spaghetti bolognese, 1x pasta with tomato sauce and 3x pizza. We will never eat there again!

The "restaurant" must be doing well if you're turned away by an arrogant waitress despite having free, unreserved tables. Where has Italian hospitality gone? Regardless, this was my first and last visit to this restaurant. I came as a guest, not as a supplicant.

Giovanni the owner is like one of the family, excellent and hospitable staff

Unfortunately, I can't understand the positive reviews. The atmosphere is uncomfortable, with loud, annoying music, loud noises from the bar/kitchen, dirty tables and placemats, and I ordered warm Aperol. The wait for the food was quite long, and the service was overwhelmed. The pizza was bland, the pasta was okay.

Great restaurant, friendly service, and delicious food! I recommend the spaghetti wrapped in Parmesan cheese!

We were there with four adults and three children. The food was delicious, but the atmosphere was very loud. The chef, or rather, boss, was constantly throwing dishes around the kitchen, shouting loudly at his staff, and seemed very annoyed. Unfortunately, the waitress didn't take orders very well. The wrong dishes were brought to our table, so our kids had to wait while our food was already at our table. As a result, we had to eat our dishes almost cold.

All in all, the quality was modest. The octopus and calamari salad was a combination of fish with some arugula and a lot of celery. The carbonara was okay, and the Bolognese and the lasagna weren't very flavorful. We had to add a lot more seasoning to everything. The service was average at best and at times seemed untrained. The atmosphere and decor didn't do justice to an Italian restaurant. The staff argued among themselves several times at a correspondingly loud volume. Everyone was very stressed and hectic. The price was perfectly reasonable and generally inexpensive. The quality we received, however, also matched that. Not a bad restaurant, but miles away from a good Italian restaurant.

I spontaneously reserved a table from the nearby hotel and I have to say, this is one of the best pizza breads I have ever eaten 👍 The service is also top notch

Delicious pizza and pasta. The owner is very friendly and always up for a joke. However, it gets very loud inside when the restaurant is full, which spoils the atmosphere. Sitting outside, on the other hand, is very pleasant in the summer!

Very, very tasty pizza and a great atmosphere. Highly recommended!! 🥰 Unfortunately, there's no children's pizza, even upon request. That could be easily accommodated. Also, due to the proximity to Playmobil Park and Hotel Bomonti, there were lots of children there.

Very nice restaurant with plenty of outdoor seating. Authentic Italian pizza with authentic Italian ingredients (salami, ham, etc.) They also offer pasta made from Parmesan cheese. We ate at Salento for the first time today, and I thought the food was okay: the mixed salad was unfortunately mostly iceberg lettuce, the carpaccio was great, and the pizza was okay. The tiramisu was unfortunately made almost entirely of cream and not mascarpone; I wouldn't recommend it at all. Unfortunately, my dessert fork tasted and smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. I had a new one brought, and so did this one. The chef brought everything himself and smelled strongly of smoke; I suspect it was his fingers... Salento gets a special point from me because the chef is very friendly and even sang live for his guests!

The spaghetti in a Parmesan loaf is usually only available for two people or more, but since it wasn't busy, they only made it for one serving. 👍🏼 The portions could have been a bit larger, though. Unfortunately, the noise level in the restaurant was too loud to easily hold a conversation, even though it wasn't that busy.

The food at Salento was truly delicious—authentic Italian cuisine that absolutely delighted us. Giovanni, the owner, even surprised us with a little serenade, which made the evening extra special. The service was very friendly and attentive; you feel truly welcome there. The cozy atmosphere and proximity to the Hotel Bomonti made Salento the perfect addition to our family trip!

Fantastic restaurant! recommend pasta more than pizza

We had a wonderful stay at the Salento restaurant. The food was fabulous, and we decided to go to the same restaurant two days in a row. The food is truly fresh and cooked at your table. They even took our four children into consideration. Even at peak times, they were the first to get their pizzas. Hospitality is a top priority here; we highly recommend the pizza, pasta, and salad, everything is sensational.

Unfortunately it was really bad, the pizza didn't taste like anything - neither the dough nor the toppings and it was also totally dry. Salad very bland, dressing was quite okay

It's loud, it's crowded, it's colorful. It is reminiscent of an Italian extended family 🥰 Children are warmly welcome and were present in large numbers. The food tastes very good and the service is super friendly. We definitely won't be there for the last time. Thank you❤️

Excellent is an understatement, serious place, good food, friendliness comes first, attentive, scrupulous and kind staff.

The food, starters and the main course (pizza margerita and tagliatelle with cream salmon sauce) were excellent. The innkeeper sang a birthday serenade to one of his guests. So you also had entertainment on offer. When we're back in the area we'll definitely eat there again.

Location in Oberasbach. Loud and cool room. Service came after about 20 minutes. Eat only after 1 hour. Waiter or owner, whatever, constantly scratches his private parts. Food quality: underground. Cold pasta, pizza dough still white and light, sparingly topped. Never again!

You always feel welcome in Salento. The whole team is super friendly and always nice. The way we interact with each other in the team is always friendly and friendly. Sometimes you get the impression it's a little chaotic, but the bottom line is that everyone has it perfectly under control. You work hand in hand. Everyone is always moving at a pace that you can only marvel at! The food is terrific! Price/performance top! If the boss has time, he sometimes sings. Great! The only thing I have to criticize is that the background noise in the crowded restaurant is sometimes very high. All in all, a place to feel comfortable in a family environment with very tasty food and a top team!

The pizza is very good, but the pasta arabiata is quite bland. But the service is really subpar, we waited over three quarters of an hour for three pizzas and one pasta, even though we had our small children with us. After ordering, no one asked if we needed anything else. All in all, it was just a shame because the store wasn't even remotely full.

On our first visit to the Salento restaurant today, we met a super friendly service team, a boss in a great mood - and really great food! I had Saltimbocca alla romana and also ordered an Insalata mista and it all tasted great! The eye - which, as we all know, also eats - was also thrilled! I then brought my son a pizza home because he already knew Salento and when I told him that I was going to have dinner there today, I immediately received his order from him to order the delicious pizza. At the end we got a grappa/limoncello on the house. Today was a lovely feel-good evening - I would love to come here again!

We've been eating here for years and recently showed him a video and asked him if he could do something like that... what can we say, he took on the challenge and more than exceeded our expectations! Thank you! The nice thing is that you feel warmly welcome in bella Italia Oberasbach every time you visit!

First of all, the criticism: the chairs are absolutely uncomfortable. Otherwise a poorly furnished restaurant. The operators and staff are great and the parmesan spaghetti is simply great. The small starter salad is also delicious.

After we finished eating, I wanted to pay. The waitress then came with an iPad and asked what we had because he didn't know?! I asked the waitress if he hadn't entered everything into his iPad when ordering and the answer I got was - no. I was then asked if I wanted to pay in cash and I answered yes. I then received an interim invoice as a receipt, on which no VAT was shown. I asked for a proper receipt and then suddenly a discussion arose and it was explained to me that I had received the correct receipt and there was no other! In my opinion, the VAT must be shown on a receipt. If not, then I ask myself how is the VAT paid to the tax office?

We celebrated our birthday in Salento and were once again treated to excellent food and warm service including singing from the boss, all at very fair prices. We would love to come back...

Pizza was dry and poorly topped.

Ohne Reservierung kamen wir am frühen Abend mit drei Erwachsenen und drei Kindern an. Kurzerhand wurden Tische zusammengestellt. Das überaus freundliche Personal zeigte sich auch sehr flexibel, z. B. zwei halbe Pizzen unterschiedlich belegt oder individuelle Pasta für den Kleinen mit frischem Parmesan aus dem Laib. Wir hatten keine anderen Gerichte als Holzofenpizza - Teig sehr dünn, genau richtig belegt. Wir werden nach Besuch des Playmobil Funparks wieder hier essen.

Perfect all around, our absolute favorite Italian. My children claim that Giovanni's lasagne is the best.

The food and service were great, including the serenade from the boss - you immediately got a holiday feeling. The hood gets the missing ventilation, at some point your eyes burn from all the smoke from the open kitchen.

Have been in Salento for a long time. We were able to sit outside, very busy inside and unfortunately also very loud. Service was very friendly, unfortunately we had to wait over an hour for two pasta dishes. The food was very tasty and put us in a mild mood, and there was grappa on the house. Maybe Saturday wasn't the right time, but we'll definitely be back October 11th, 2024 we've been to Giovanni's a few times again, service was great again and the food was very tasty. We always like to come back.

The bruschetta is super tasty. Crispy and intense in taste. Haven't had a better one yet. The Parma pizza is also highly recommended. Crispy and very well baked. Plenty of toppings and super tasty. Spaghetti naturale from the Parmesan wheel and tortellini were also very good. At the end we ordered a small portion of spaghetti with tomato sauce for our daughter and even though the shop was packed, it was delivered after just under 2 minutes. Class. Unfortunately, due to the busyness of the place, I wasn't able to order a flambéed crêpe with ice cream, but I would rate this as a positive because it tells me that the dessert is freshly prepared. It was a shame nonetheless. Service was super friendly and also very quick and accommodating. Highly recommended. Unfortunately, it's too far away for it to be realistic to come back again.

The service was also great. Super nice and you were served quickly and the food came quickly for 9 people. Highly recommended 👍🏻 we pre-booked a table, but there was still enough free.

We went to eat here after visiting the Playmobil Fun Park and were ultimately satisfied. The only downer was that everything took a long time, from the service until we had the food in front of us. This is certainly due to the difficult staff situation and excessive demands that are typical in many places, which can be forgiven as it is very understandable given the already very difficult undertaking of running a restaurant and thus making enough profit. The food tasted good (I had lasagna, the kids ate pizza). It was very positive that the children even received a Playmobil newspaper for free after their meal, great! Thanks
