The food tasted very good, especially the Hariyali Tikka was very tasty. The new owners have also changed a lot, which has created a very pleasant atmosphere.

When you walk in you immediately think of Bollywood :-). Lots of kitsch on the walls and simply furnished. The food came quickly and tasted good. The bread with garlic was great and very fresh. You still have to learn how to tap beer, there is no crown ;-) We liked the warming plates, which hardly any other Indian has. You just need to clean them properly again. All in all it was normal average.

We were really looking forward to the meal, but unfortunately we were disappointed this time. The taste was very tasty, but our Butter Chicken & Tikka Massala consisted almost entirely of sauce. Only a few small pieces of meat and not the usual larger pieces. Unfortunately the naan bread was also tough. Unfortunately the price was not justified at all!! We paid a lot of money and are still hungry :(

Best Indian restaurant in Europe and we have travelled to most places. Arav and his wife were great hosts. Butter chicken, biryani and the karai paneer were the best we've ever had. Thank you and hope to see you in future.

We went to Sagar for the first time with our bowling club. Everyone enjoyed it very much. A large selection of food. The service was courteous and nice. Fresh ingredients were used and it was mild or spicy exactly as specified. We will visit it again.

Yesterday we went to the restaurant for the first time and we loved it. The selection of dishes is quite large, in the end we decided on a platter for 2 people. 2 meat dishes (beef & chicken) and 2 vegetable dishes. Rice pudding in the middle for dessert. All delicious

We ate outside on Sunday evening. There was little going on. The service was very friendly and the food was very tasty. The food was placed on warming plates and the plates were preheated. The only negative point is the ambience, but maybe that will change with the new owner. In any case, we were very satisfied.

The food (Palak Paneer and Chicken Tikka Massala) was unbeatably good. Very nice service and good price-performance ratio. Some dishes are also available as a lunch menu for €8.90

The four of us spontaneously had something to eat here today; for me it was a new experience of Indian cuisine. There was the vegetarian and the normal "platter" for two people, which the four of us then shared. It was very tasty and it won't be the last time we eat there.

Today I had dinner with my sister at Sagar's. I chose chicken mint. This is chicken with coconut flakes and mint. Unfortunately I neglected to say that I wanted it mild. My sister had chicken with mango sauce. The dishes were served with basmati rice. My dish was a little spicy, but not so spicy that you couldn't eat it. Despite the spiciness, I found it very tasty. You could taste mint and spices that I can't name. But, I liked it. The chicken with mango sauce was also really tasty. Nice and fruity with a nice coconut note. The staff was very friendly and nice. The restaurant inside is a bit smaller and in winter when no one eats outside it could be a bit cramped. The tables are a little closer together. But everything was clean and tidy. Overall, I am very satisfied and would definitely recommend the Sagar.

Today I had dinner at "Sagar" with my sister for the first time. I ordered “Mango Chicken” and it was really delicious. Price-performance was totally reasonable. The staff was also very nice and friendly. I was thrilled and would definitely eat something there again.

Since I only order there I can't say anything about the ambience but: Service: every supplier I got to know was very, very nice. The food came more punctually than expected and everyone is up for a little small talk Let's get to the essentials Food: the food not only comes on time, but also hot. The portions are more than generous and have a very good sauce-to-sauce balance. The taste is great. No matter whether chicken, duck, beef, it simply tastes very good. Spicy means spicy (as it should be) but there are also plenty of good, mild dishes for those who don't like spicy food. I can and would highly recommend this restaurant. For anyone who wants to try something new culinary, it will be worth it. The price is absolutely justified by the taste, size and freshness of the dishes.

We were there on May 25th. this year directly on site. The first impression was a bit muted as the ambience didn't really appeal to me personally. After we expressed our food wishes, we were very excited. We didn't have to wait long and warming plates were put on the table. A short time later the plates and rice arrived. Very positive, the plates were preheated. Then came the main course. We were all very excited and were not disappointed. Super tasty 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩 If the menu says spicy, then it definitely is spicy. If you don't want this, you should choose the mild dishes. Otherwise, there are little taste explosions that make a visit absolutely worthwhile. Recommended: Chicken Tikka Masala, Murgh Nilgiri, Chicken Sabzi and the vegetarian platter for two people with rice, lentil soup, a dish with chickpeas, homemade Naan bread (sensational) and a few other delicacies. When we are in Geldern next year, we will come back.

That was probably the last chance we gave the Sagar. I love Indian food, so we tried it often. Sometimes the food is spicy even though it was explicitly ordered as not spicy, sometimes “the device is already off”, so the order doesn’t even go through online. You will then receive the cancellation the following day. This time ordered by phone, no one on site knew about the order. My husband didn't have enough cash, he suggested ordering on Lieferando so that he could pay online, but the device was out again :) 1.5 hours before closing. He went to the bank, then just pretended the rest was a tip - er, not under these circumstances. When I got home, I noticed that the butter chicken today tasted sweet and yet spicy. Thank you for nothing, stomach cramps included.

It's great that there is now an Indian restaurant in Geldern. However, you really shouldn't compare here. You can tell from the price-performance ratio that the Sagar has no competition in the region. A pity!

The food was great, the service was very friendly and accommodating. Only the seats in the entrance area are not that nice and have more of a waiting hall/pick-up area character. It's supposed to be nicer and more comfortable in the back area, but unfortunately it only opens when all the seats at the front are occupied.

The food was delicious, and our two dishes cost 29 euros (14.50 for one). A very nice addition was a glass of mango liqueur at the end. Very nice and smiling staff. I definitely recommend it!

We were at Sagar for the first time today and we were determined that it wouldn't be the last time. The owners are super warm and you immediately feel welcome. The ambience is also very pleasant - the restaurant is bigger than you think because it goes further at the back. The food was ready super quickly; As a starter there was breaded cauliflower and samosa with various dips, super tasty! For the main course we had four different dishes, all of which were very aromatic and creamy. I liked the fruity Butter Chicken the best, closely followed by Aloo Palak. The naan is super light and not greasy. Unfortunately there wasn't enough for dessert, but next time I'd love to!

The best Indian restaurant I have ever visited. The food is very tasty and, as expected, spicy, the duck Jalfrezi is a clear recommendation, best served with the fantastic mango nectar! There are of course also options for vegetarian or vegan visitors. The ambience looks great and is accompanied by music. The staff is EXCEPTIONALLY friendly. Prices are reasonable, ~16€ per person for a full meal and 4.5€ for a drink. The restaurant has become our trusted Indian restaurant. A clear recommendation for everyone! Important: no card payment!

The restaurant seems a bit dark at first but that is deceptive. The food is very tasty and the price-performance ratio is great. We had four different dishes and were all very satisfied. Not our last visit there. I can only recommend trying it out.

The Sagar in Geldern is one of the best Indian restaurants on the Lower Rhine, perhaps even in North Rhine-Westphalia. The service is very friendly, but speaks little German, the atmosphere is very Indian, but pleasant. But the food is some of the best I know (I was in India) and is not adapted. Although we guests can also order mild or spicier dishes, the food is original and very tasty. We had the vegetarian menu for two people (was adapted to three). Simply stunning, simply gorgeous.

Very tasty food!! We enjoy Sagar's varied and delicious food. The special spice component suits our taste exactly. The prices are reasonable, the portions are generous. The friendly staff rounds off the stay. Gladly again "Sagar", whether eating "to go" or in the restaurant. Again any time!!

Mit dem Essen waren wir immer sehr zufrieden. Was aber absolut nicht geht ist die Unzuverlässigkeit bzgl. der Öffnungszeiten. Wir haben heute zum 3. mal vor verschlossener Tür gestanden an der ein handschriftlicher Zettel hing, dass erst um 17.00 Uhr geöffnet würde und nicht in der Mittagszeit. Wieder 30 km für nichts gefahren. Wir werden nicht mehr dort essen gehen.

Wir waren vor ein paar Wochen dort essen und es war wie immer sehr lecker und die Kellner dort sind super nett:)

Gestern waren wir erstmals bei Sagar. Spontan und ohne große Erwartungen. Wir wollten einfach mal eine andere Küche ausprobieren. Die freundliche Bedienung bat uns zu unserem Tisch, soweit alles prima. Das erste Bier war leider warm, wurde aber umgehend korrigiert. Zum Essen können wir leider nicht viel positives berichten: das Fladenbrot war ein im Grunde fettiger weicher Pfannkuchen, der uns während des gesamten Essens mit viel Fett um die Nase wehte. Die angepriesene Ente war frittiert, völlig durchgebraten und trocken. Die Haut war in der Tat super knusprig, doch leider darunter das gesamte Fett noch vorhanden. Beim Verlassen des Restaurants wehte uns aus der Küchentüre noch mal intensiver Fettgestank entgegen, das ist es, was uns von unserem Besuch nachhaltig in Erinnerung bleiben wird. Leider, denn die Bedienung war bemüht und guten Willens...

Heute zum ersten Mal indisch gegessen und es hat sehr sehr gut geschmeckt. Service sehr freundlich und das Essen war super. Küchenchef kam raus zum Tisch und hat die Speisen erklärt.

Ich war erst das dritte mal indisch essen. Das erste mal in diesem Restaurant und ich bin begeistert. Sehr leckeres Essen, eine ordentliche Auswahl auch an veganen Gerichten. Die Portionen sind groß und reichen (zumindest für uns) für 2 Tage. Der Inhaber ist ein sehr herzlicher Mensch, war wirklich zuvorkommend und auf zack. Sehr zu empfehlen.

Große Auswahl an indischen Gerichten. Haben uns durch viele Gerichte durchgeschlemmt und fanden es geschmacklich sehr gut! Auch der Service und die Sauberkeit fanden wir sehr gut. Definitiv absolute Weiterempfehlung 👍
