Sadhu Restaurant Nordhausen in Nordhausen

I had a great dinner with my wife the food was great and fresh, very friendly service.

We became aware of the restaurant through a flyer about the new opening and beautiful photos of the outdoor terrace and the food online and reserved a table. We were warmly welcomed and served. Since there were two of us, we were placed in the front part of the restaurant, which is not particularly comfortable and the ventilation is quite loud. I ordered a mixed appetizer platter as a main course so I could sample several of the appetizers. Then came a deep plate with completely fried vegetables, of which I could only identify the cauliflower in terms of taste. After three bites, I no longer wanted to eat. The red wine was also very moderate. My companion had ordered a curry, which he was happy with. We won't be coming back.

I was at Sadhu last week, it was a great experience, I enjoyed the food and the atmosphere, the service was excellent and very quick. I had a sadhu grill plate which was fantastic along with homemade lemonade. Will definitely come back.

It was our first time in this restaurant and overall we were quite satisfied. I would like to come back and try more from the menu. 😊👍🏻 I had reserved a table for this evening. The service was friendly. The wait for the food was completely reasonable. The restaurant is pleasantly furnished. There is appropriate music playing in the background, but we didn't find it disturbing. There is also a terrace to relax in when the weather is nice. First of all there was the typical greeting from the kitchen that you know from most Indian restaurants. We enjoyed the three different dips. As a starter we shared the samosas. My friend thought they were exceptionally tasty, I thought they were good, especially with the chutney, it was something different. For the main course we each had a “Thali”. The advantage here is that you get three small bowls of the actual main courses so you can try out what you like. As far as I remember, for me it was lamb in sauce with typical spices, Indian cheese in sauce with curry and chicken in sauce with spinach and garlic. There was definitely good meat and cheese in the small bowls, something I don't know much about in other restaurants. I thought it tasted really good. My friend liked it, but his other combination wasn't spicy enough for him. There was also bread and rice as well as a side salad. My friend also had naan bread with garlic. After dinner there was a mango schnapps on the house.

The flatbread was obviously fried (I only know it from an Indian in a decent stone oven). The batter was also way too thick, so you had the impression you were eating a greasy pancake. The sauce was also very fatty and almost tasteless. You had to actively look for the few pieces of meat. For me it will just be this one attempt. Luckily there are better options in the city.

I was in the restaurant for the first time today. The employees were very friendly and attentive. Everything inside and on the terrace was clean. The tables are already beautifully set. The selection of food and drinks is optimal. The food and drinks tasted fantastic. The portions were plentiful. I would love to come back. But I have to make a small criticism. If you have fresh plants in front of, in or on the terrace, you should also take care of them. These looked a bit neglected. But that didn't detract from the rest of the stay.

We have eaten at Sadhu several times now. The staff is very nice and the food is excellent.

Tested for the first time in the evening, enthusiastic - greetings from the kitchen in advance - Indian papadam chips with 3 dips without having ordered, cocktails very well on offer, then salad promptly, followed by the main course, a grappa on the house when paying, terrific, very attentive, still rice followed up without notification. I'd love to come back more often!!!

No wonder the restaurant is almost always empty. Everything would have been fine, but we ordered too large portions, and of course we couldn’t finish them, we asked them to take it with us, I still had 3-4 shrimp in my portion, but when we came home, when we were hungry, we discovered that there was 1 shrimp in the portion... Feed your waiters! I don’t have a foot anymore, I’m afraid to imagine what else they can do with food, I’m disdainful.

Unfortunately, the restaurant cannot keep up with the quality of Namaste in Nordhausen. Unfortunately the taste is not good and the prices are too high for this quality. At least the service was attentive and friendly.

Were there for lunch as a couple. There is a pleasantly large lunch menu with even several vegetarian dishes to choose from. First there was an incredibly delicious soup. When I asked what kind of soup it was, there was a funny conversation with the super friendly waiter, the solution (red lentil soup) and even a pot of soup as a gift to take home. The main courses were delicious, well seasoned, the meat was very tender and the portion size was perfect. I am completely convinced, I had a great moment with you and would like to give 10 stars!!!

First of all I would like to praise the super friendly staff, we immediately felt comfortable and warmly welcomed. The food came quickly and it was excellent! The mango lassi...a dream! Our new favorite restaurant!

During the week the lunch menus are highly recommended. Delicious soup, good food, rice and a great flatbread. The normal menu and the surroundings are rather disappointing. I've never had such bad papadum, and the composition of the dips ranges from ultra-hot to getting used to to tasteless. There can certainly be divided opinions about serving the side salad on a shared plate for everyone at the table without asking. It's a shame a second Indian in Nordhausen was my hope for invigorating competition.

Attention: There is an extra cocktail menu!!! We've ordered the wrong drinks twice during happy hours and wondered why we paid full price.

A really successful restaurant concept. The food was delicious. But what I have to particularly emphasize is that the service was really top notch. Very nice and polite, but still there for every joke. And you never had the feeling that there was no service nearby. Really a recommendation👍

We were there at short notice with ten people. The service was really nice and tried very hard. The food was very, very tasty. We still got something on the house. It was a very beautiful evening.

We had dinner here in a group of 7 people in the evening. The food tasted good and aromatic. What I have to complain about, however, is that we received two salad plates that the seven of us were supposed to share and only two papadums. We then ordered another 2 papadums because there just weren't enough for seven and we had to pay an extra 5.90 euros for that. However, we were only told this when the bill came.

If you like Indian food, you will be well served here.

The restaurant was packed, but the friendly service got us through the evening really well. Beforehand there is bread with dip. We had the appetizer platter - this consisted of fried vegetables and was quite poorly seasoned. That wasn't our thing. The curries, however, were super tasty and rich. Except for the appetizer platter, highly recommended!

I ordered something to pick up during my lunch break. To my surprise, it was cheaper than on the menu - there are lunch specials. The service is very friendly, I got a drink on the house during my very short wait. The food is very good, everything is fresh! If you keep it up you'll see me more often on my lunch break 👍🏽

A nice Indian restaurant with a good location, great outdoor terrace and pleasant ambience/interior. The service is extremely friendly and attentive, something you rarely find in Nordhausen. The food is good but just average. Spices and the typical Indian preparation with vegetables and different flavors are not included. Biryani rice with lamb and chicken tikka masala can be eaten better in Nordhausen. Basically, the price-performance ratio is good; salad and papadum as well as rice are also served with the meal. We like the concept of offering good food and a cocktail happy hour and are already familiar with it from larger chains in Berlin. But we don't understand why there is no cocktail menu or why it is only served to the table upon request. Unfortunately, card payment didn't work yet and the option to order via Whatsapp, as described on the flyer, wasn't possible. The restaurant now also appears on Lieferando, but the prices are higher and orders cannot currently be placed.

We came unexpectedly for the holiday and were given a very friendly welcome, even though we hadn't made a reservation. When I heard the “greetings from the kitchen” (one of the dips was announced to be very temperamental), I was speechless…I promptly received quick help from the waiter and in no time everything was fine again! Top food recommendation and the taste was not even for me Spicy eaters delicious!!

My first visit here surprised me in the most pleasant way. The rooms are very nice including the terrace, very pleasant atmosphere. The menu is extensive, the prices are at a normal (nordhäuser) level. The service is extremely friendly. To eat: balanced, well seasoned, absolutely delicious. Sadhu completely convinced me. I will definitely be a guest there again. A real enrichment for Nordhausen, also when it comes to opening times. Keep it up ...

We are Indians and waiter asked us about the restaurant and when we were answering , then he suddenly started to welcome other customers. He will ask something to us and then starts talking with side table customers. What’s the point of asking anyone anything and then not listening to them. This happened to us 3 times, on the same day. It was like he’s not giving us respect.

An enrichment for Nordhausen, delicious Indian food with a great selection also for vegetarian and vegan diets. Very friendly service and great ambience! I am very grateful for Sadhu! EC payment is currently not possible, so you should keep that in mind!

Located in the city center, Sadhu offers an great blend of Indian and Pakistani food. Everything we tried was amazing! Not spice for ones who don’t eat spicy food and spicy for its lovers. The cozy atmosphere and attentive service make it a must-visit spot for lovers of authentic cuisine.

Went to the Sadhu this afternoon and was thrilled. Ambience good, smelled wonderful at the entrance and friendly, understandable staff. Food was so delicious. We had chicken curry twice, plus rice, a small salad and fried bread 🤤. Chicken buttery soft 👍, highly recommended

Today we went to the Sadhu for lunch with the whole family. The restaurant is cozy and lovingly furnished. Food and drinks were delicious (great vegan and vegetarian selection). I would particularly like to highlight our service. The service was really attentive, courteous, super nice and funny. Thanks for that. We would love to come back and are looking forward to trying out the cozy terrace with a view of the Zorge. The Sadhu is an enrichment for the Nordhausen gastronomy. Keep it up!

We ate there this afternoon and both had the feeling that the city of Nordhausen had been enriched with another recommendable location with this restaurant. The food was consistently not just Something “different” than the usual “Indian” establishments but also really tasty. Drinks also without negative points. Hopefully the level stays at this level. Fully booked in the next few days to weeks. So it's worth reserving early. Oh yes, another one. You're not necessarily used to friendly waiters in Nordhausen's Indian gastronomy 😀

We were there for the first time today after waiting hopefully for the opening. We were particularly excited about the vegan selection on the menu. Both the lemonades and the two main courses were very tasty. The waiters were very attentive, friendly and conveyed joy. You cannot currently pay by card. But the waiter told us that the device had already been ordered. In my opinion, a clear win for Nordhausen.
