Ryu in Berlin

Had dinner at Ryu and I can say, location and service are good. Food is mid, fried chicken wasn’t great and the rice with it also didn’t taste good. It’s also cash only

Everything great. The food, service and selection of dishes is just right! I wouldn't play cheap radio music, but rather listen to a radio station like Wefunk radio, Radiomeuh or just a pretty cool Lo Fi Spotify list to complete the ambience in Ryu. I can recommend it to anyone who simply wants good food and prefers dishes that are easy to make.

Very nice staff, suitable ambience, nicely decorated. Nothing wrong with the food. Chairs with backrests for older people perhaps.

All in all good, waited a little long for the food, but otherwise nice service and ambience. It gets quite drafty at the window in cold temperatures, so we would recommend another place.

Excuse me, but aren't you ashamed? 17 euros with Uber One (i.e. without delivery fee) for a touch of nothing... the spicy princess salad consists of 2 leaves of Chinese cabbage and a few pieces of carrot.. the snowballs are the size of a 2 euro piece etc... never again... thanks for nothing ..

Outstanding. We are passing through and stopped in for a delicious meal. The steak cubes were grilled to perfection. The dumplings flavorful with great sauces. The service charming. The decor interesting. The background music was also on point. Highly recommend. We would eat here weekly if we lived in the area.

We had a really nice and delicious evening at Ryu. Service was super nice and attentive and the food was also delicious. We had shaking beef, udon chicken and various starters, which all tasted very good :) We can particularly recommend the Lychee Booze (drink) - sooooo delicious! Thank you, we'll be back ❤️

One of my favorite restaurant in Berlin. Dined here five times during my one-year stay in Berlin. Really wanted to ask for the sauce recipe before I left Berlin but I assumed it was impossible :) Anyway, it's a really good restaurant. You will like the flavor no matter where you come from. And the neighborhood is also a cool place to have fun. Still miss the sauce taste after two years.

Not vegan friendly and misleading: the menu reads each dish is vegan adaptable, however, after asking, no dish is actually vegan in the end - they just replace meat for tofu. Left hungry and disappointed.

We ended up here by chance and had a wonderful time. The food was extremely tasty and the portions were generous, we really enjoyed the meal. The cocktails and lemonades are also recommended. The only drawback: a glass of tap water with a normal order including alcoholic drinks should be included and should not be refused. Otherwise really great love and fast service. Great recommendation!

Not recommended on a Sunday. Soups and matcha crepe cake were out. Food was somehow way too sweet.

Food ok, but sooo much better places around in 1 min distance (nyom, 1990, mamam etc.). No additional tab water, as they "can't guarantee it's safe". The mushroom dish with "various mushrooms" had only champignons and the mango sauce tastes like it comes from a 10l bucket.. In general, I can't recommend this place.

You really can't go wrong here. The food tastes really good and the service does a great job, and of course the atmosphere in this area is very relaxed. The price is also reasonable for the food. However, what I didn't like at all and that's why it only gets 2/5 stars is that you can ONLY pay in cash here and they don't serve tap water either. You have to pay €2.90 for a small bottle of water... even the waitress felt embarrassed.

It's just annoying in Berlin. Cash only! They don't even care that all the surrounding restaurants are packed and there isn't a guest to be found at RYU.

below average food. Rice was dry and of bad quality. Overpriced due to location and „instagrammable“ appearance. If you are looking for great food dont come here. If you want to take picture of fancy looking food then it could be worth it.

I've brought guests with me several times now and everyone was thrilled. A positive highlight in Friedrichshain, which is overloaded with restaurants. Here you will find real individuality and nothing that you know from all other restaurants

Amazing spot for authentic, delicious food! The atmosphere is really nice both indoors and outdoors. The service is great and very attentive. The food tasted so good, was presented very nicely and was prepared very quickly. There are many interesting options to choose from. Given the taste and quality, it is priced reasonably. They put effort into the interior design as well, including in the bathroom. Be aware, it’s cash only. Will definitely be back :)

Very mediocre food. The meat texture is not curetted to the dish. In other words, it’s a cheap meat.

Our starters were quite nice ("Crispy Rolls" and "Chicken In The Roll"), but the main dishes were lacking. I had "Udon Chicken" which was a little carelessly slumped together with some indiscriminate sauce, the zucchini though had a nice bite. Service was super-friendly, didn't know where the restaurant buys its fish, though (I find that important). The panna cotta was alright.

Small but simple and very well kept place. Very friendly staff, superb food with vegan and gluten free options. Special mention for the udon with coconut and curry sauce. Advise!

I've been there many times and I think they have the best peanut sauce. Friendly service staff with whom you can chat a bit. You can only pay in cash, but it says "cash only" on the door. Recommended: Chicken on the roll, golden sticks.

I've actually enjoyed going to Ryu so far because the food has always tasted good. Unfortunately, our recent visit to Ryu was a disappointing experience, so this will be my last visit. The staff was rude and unprofessional. We were informed that we could not pay by card. Since the ATM nearby was broken, we had to walk five minutes to the nearest ATM to withdraw cash. The fact that card payment is not possible is one point of criticism. We found the waitress's following request and assumption much more problematic: she wanted one of us to stay in the restaurant (as a "pledge", so to speak), since she couldn't know whether we would come back to pay. We told the waitress that we had no intention of leaving without paying and that we also found it unfair to even accuse us of such a thing. The waitress responded to our complaint in a personal and unfriendly manner, which made the situation even more unpleasant. When we asked about card payment, we were told without explanation that the restaurant did not want to introduce this payment method. This answer was incomprehensible and not very customer-oriented. Overall, we felt very uncomfortable during this situation and regret that we had to leave the restaurant with a bad feeling. And all because no card payments are accepted. We would have liked the waitress to have reacted a little more friendly, so it certainly wouldn't have been a big problem for us to withdraw cash...

Tasty but chicken was not my favorite!

Always first class service, indescribably delicious, marinated and tender chicken. You taste it and you can see that it is not molded meat, but real chicken from the piece. Super delicious homemade lemonades! All highly recommended. Ps. ONLY CASH

It was my first time to visit this restaurant. My friend brought me there. Then we ordered “Shaking Beef”. Actually it was quite good. The beef was saucy and sweet. They also use fresh veggies. But minus point is the beef was still little bit too tough. I hope they cook the beef longer. They also mention this menu with ‘coleslaw salad’ and I expected the salad was served with usual coleslaw dressing. But they served the veggies just like that without dressing. Well maybe because the beef had enough sauce to mix with the veggies. Next time I come with my friend, then I’ll order other menu maybe waffle or udon 🙂

Ordered 3 meals, all great. We were very satisfied.

I ate the Undon Noodle Beef here, which was very tasty. Unfortunately there is a little too little on the plate for the price, for which a star is deducted. Service was okay.

Another Berlin restaurant evading tax by only accepting cash, no card payments. They refuse to give customers tap water and overpriced/average tasting main courses. Nice looking place though.

Es muy lindo el ambiente, tiene una iluminación gradual, el espacio es amplio. Pedimos rise bowl chicken beef (13.9)y un udon beef (14) los que eran unas porciones generosas de comida, ademas pedimos te que estaban deliciosas y calientes. Lo único triste es que se paga con efectivo.

Das Restaurant ist klein aber fein und das Essen ist spitze. Sehr nettes und aufmerksames Personal, immer wieder gern.

What a lovely place with a cozy yet hipster ambiance. They serve revisited Asian dishes with creative twists. Friendly and efficient waitstaff. Great drink options. We were very happy with our food (dumplings, fresh spring rolls and noodle dishes). If you wish to ease your international, non-Asian friends into Asian food or if you want to embark on a creative culinary adventure, this is the right place for that!

Ein sehr leckeres Restaurant mit einer großen Auswahl. Ich hatte die Chicken Udon Nudeln und war überaus glücklich! Das Restaurant akzeptiert jedoch nur Bargeld. In der Nähe sind einige ATMs.

Delicious Asian cuisine with a wide variety of amazing dishes. The prices are reasonable. During busy times, finding a place to sit can be a bit challenging.

Locale piccolo ma molto accogliente. Gli udon sono ottimi e porzioni abbondanti, peccato però che non ci siano molte varianti nel menù. Il servizio rispetto all'ultima volta è stato più attento, torneremo a provare altri piatti. Il Pagamento è ancora solo in contanti.

Cool asian fusion place at Boxhagenerplatz. We had supreme chicken and angry chicken rice bowl and they were lip-smacking delicious! The Summer drinks were really good too!
