Rudolph's in Hamburg

There were four of us, and we really enjoyed it, partly because of the many gluten-free options. I would especially like to emphasize the courtesy and friendliness of the staff, despite our special requests and the full tables. We would be happy to come back.

We like the friendly and informal atmosphere. A variety of people (and dogs) meet for a good meal. Not only is the thin and crispy pizza worth it, the pasta and meat dishes are also plentiful and delicious. There are other gluten-free options in Hamburg, but in my opinion no one can match this taste and especially the completely uncomplicated handling of allergens. Thank you very much and keep it up!

A restaurant that specializes in offering extremely good gluten-free options. More or less everything on the menu can be gluten-free. The pizzas were the best I've tried and the pasta was 10 out of 10. This place is well worth a detour. Very friendly staff with god knowledge regarding gluten.

We had reserved, but when we arrived none of the employees responded to us. We just stood there and waited for someone to talk to us. When an employee simply walked past us without speaking to us, we spoke to the employee behind the counter. She then assigned us a table. Unfortunately you felt a bit out of place when you arrived. The food, including the gluten-free pizza, was delicious, but a little underdone for the fairly high price. It was also quite loud and dark in the restaurant.

This is where the tastes differ. We were served by 2 ladies. The waitress with blonde hair was friendly and approachable. The waitress with dark hair (short body size) was a little lacking in hospitality: After we were served the food, we noticed that an ingredient was missing from two pizzas and called us. She came so late that there was only 1 small pizza corner left. There was no appropriate response to our careful, friendly inquiry and advice, but "... well, there wouldn't have been mountains of basil..." We don't have high expectations, but she could easily say, for example, oh, it wasn't intentional, how can we make it up to you... something like that would have been enough for us. We would have thanked you very much. This point was weak and this, along with high prices, devalued the visit.

The ambience suffered from quite a bit of noise, and conversation across several seats at our 8-person table was very limited. The food could have been hotter, why weren't the warming lights on?

We even got a seat without a reservation. The receptionist was friendly and extremely attentive. She recommended the Tartufo Bianco truffle pizza, which I really liked. Happy to come back!

We came here because the restaurant advertises that it also has a comprehensive gastronomic offering for those affected by celiac disease. They definitely have! When we entered the restaurant, an older woman (I'm assuming she was the owner) was simply vacuuming at the front. After the food came very quickly, there were about twice as many employees in the restaurant as guests. Unfortunately, when I wanted to pay, it didn't work so easily because I wasn't noticed. Since my hair was falling over my face, I made a new braid. The older woman looks at me in horror and says across the entire restaurant in front of other guests what I could think of because it would be absolutely unhygienic. I had to smile a little after seeing the toilet (absolutely dingy) and smelling the old vacuum cleaner. How can you behave like that in front of other guests? Here the customer is not king! NEVER AGAIN!

The reception in the restaurant was rather off-putting. When we entered the restaurant, there were already a few guests waiting in the entrance area and no one from the staff was paying attention to the guests who had arrived. If the restaurant hadn't had such good reviews, I would have turned around and gone somewhere else. We had reserved for 7:00 p.m. and stood in the entrance with various other guests for 30 minutes until we were seated around 7:20 p.m. In the meantime, a waitress came exactly twice, first seating other guests and then some time later and rather listlessly seating us. Once we got to the table it took another 10-15 minutes until we got a card. Once we placed our order, the evening went much more smoothly. The pizza was very tasty and the salad also tasted good. The waiter who served us was friendly and delivered everything correctly.

We didn't have a reservation. We still got a nice table for 4 people. The food was delicious. No problem that we shared a pizza in the evening. The pizza was shared and we received 2 small extra plates. The service was very! friendly. Only the noise in the restaurant detracted from the very good impression. We had reserved a table. When we arrived, the manager apparently opened the restaurant and let more guests into the restaurant. She seemed very stressed and her handbag was still on the counter because it had obviously only arrived shortly before it opened. We wanted to point out our reservation and were told not to. just take a table with two chairs. We had to quickly leave the chosen spot and were asked to change so that she didn't have to walk so far. We chose the gluten-free pizza with vegan cheese substitute twice. Unfortunately it wasn't mentioned that the pesto wasn't vegan, it was simply left out. There didn't seem to be an alternative. So we were served a sad Pollo e Pesto pizza without pesto, just with a few pieces of chicken and pine nuts. The second Hawaiian pizza was just as sparse (little toppings with a decent surcharge for the vegan cheese, then even cheaper cooked ham). Both pizzas were not hot and therefore went cold quickly. The taste was ok. The place by the water was beautiful!

Great gluten-free pizza, but even the “normal” pizza is exceptionally good. Casual atmosphere, nice staff. You should reserve in advance (online).

The pizza was tasty but no longer hot. The waitress was not instructed on how to serve a bottle of wine. The bottle was poured directly into all the glasses and placed on the table without a cooler. When we made the reservation, we had mentioned that we were celebrating a birthday and that it would be nice if a small cake or something similar was brought to the table. None of this happened, not even any information that it couldn't be done. A complete disaster, I cannot recommend the restaurant.

Unfortunately I didn't have a nice evening here. We were not greeted at the door, even though we made a reservation, there was no table set aside for us. When we ordered a bottle of Lugano, we were not offered the wine to try and when we asked if the bottle could be chilled, the bottle was taken back and put in the fridge somewhere instead of putting a wine cooler at our table. Very, very bad service. The pizza tasted ok though.

The pasta was cooked soggy and the sauce was not seasoned. But no one was interested in my criticism.

Because of our daughter's celiac disease, we ate at Rudolphs. The gluten-free as well as the normal pizza are awesome. Incredibly delicious. However, the composition of the pizzas/toppings are not for everyone and I would have liked a little more standard. We hardly noticed any children there, which is probably because there are no children's meals such as fries. What really bothered us was that we were sitting so close together. As many tables as possible were squeezed into the smallest space.

Yesterday the four of us had dinner with friends at Rudolph’s restaurant. Overall we had an enjoyable evening, but there were both positives and negatives. The appetizers, which were really impressive in terms of taste, should be highlighted positively. The service was friendly and courteous, and the ambience and location of the restaurant were also very appealing. In addition, the prices were absolutely reasonable. However, there were a few points that clouded the overall impression. We were not greeted or greeted upon entering the restaurant, which did not leave a good first impression. In addition, when we asked, we were not given any bread because it had to be freshly baked - which speaks for freshness, but is unusual in a restaurant, especially when you have to wait 20 minutes for it after you had already finished your starter. Another drawback was the attentiveness of the service staff: although the restaurant was relatively empty, you always had to actively wave the waiters over to place an order or ask something. (order more drinks) The biggest criticism, however, was that during our stay the guest room was being rearranged for an event or something similar - tables and chairs were moved in one area while guests were still present. This shouldn't happen in a well-run restaurant. This causes unrest and discomfort. Conclusion: The restaurant definitely has potential, especially with the quality of the food and the ambience. However, there is an urgent need to work on the organization and service in order to offer guests an all-round pleasant experience.

I often get pizza to go here and can generally recommend the restaurant. The pizza is classic Pizza Neapolitana with a really tasty, juicy sourdough. The dips on offer also go perfectly with the thick edge, all of which are super tasty. In terms of price, I think the pizza is totally fair for the quality and taste. To take away, the preparation is usually pretty quick. The only small drawback is the small selection of pizzas, especially vegetarian ones. The mixed vegetables are already pre-mixed, so unfortunately you can't leave anything out. It would be nicer to be more flexible here. Overall, I can recommend Rudolph's.

We had an excellent 3 course menu. Everything tasted great. The portions were also reasonable. Service was very nice and friendly. I asked for a quieter table and that's what I got. The restaurant can be noisy when it is at full capacity. We'll be back the next time we visit HH.

We have liked Rudolphs for years and always come with the whole family on special occasions. The food is delicious as always. However, we had to wait a long time for food. And tables that came after us got their food before us. That can happen - no problem - it would just be nice if it was communicated honestly. One or two tables less would have made the week more relaxing. So you couldn't help but always be part of the conversations of the people sitting next to you at the table. But since the clientele was polite, this wasn't a problem. As you notice. Complaining on a high level but since you commit yourself to this level, this is only 4 stars for me. I will still recommend the restaurant and go there again myself. Maybe I'll correct it next time...

If you have celiac disease, a visit to Rudolph's is a must, but ATTENTION! On my last visit I received a pizza containing gluten and unknowingly ate a slice. As if the incident wasn't tragic enough, the phone call with Ms. Rudolph was underground. She often has customers who forget to order a gluten-free pizza, and I also have to know what a gluten-free pizza looks like in her house and should have been able to tell the difference. I have been eating gluten-free since 2008 and have eaten gluten-free at Rudolph's 4 times since then, the last time in 2022. As a celiac, there is no restaurant visit where you can hide your intolerance, on the contrary, forgetting would lead to an extremely unpleasant gluten accident, like any celiac disease Those affected try to avoid it. As a celiac you come into contact with your intolerance every day, which makes it impossible to forget. I personally tasted the difference, which Ms. Rudolph said was impossible. Unfortunately, that was my last visit to Rudolph's, not because there was this mix-up, but because Ms. Rudolph doesn't have a customer-oriented service mentality in the slightest. It's the customer's fault, congratulations.

Negative: - We were there with a large group and after we had chosen the dishes and wanted to order, the waiter told us that there was only pizza available today. - The prices for a simple rump steak and pizza/pasta were between 14-18€ (pizza) and 32 euros (steak). - Although the pizzas were made in-house, the taste of the pizza is surpassed by any frozen pizza. - Payment can only be made by card. However, the atmosphere is somewhat hall-like and the acoustics are almost unbearable when the restaurant is busy. When we asked, we were given a table in a quieter corner. It would be nice if such requests could be taken into account directly, but I thought it was great that a solution was found for us on site. The ambience is tasteful, but overall it is a rather noisy restaurant as everything is open plan. That's nice, but a challenge for me as a noise-sensitive person. The food was OK, but not enlightening. For the price I would have expected a little more, but it wasn't that it wasn't tasty. Throughout the evening, the service continued to be the highlight. Very friendly, clever and engaging. I may visit the restaurant again, but then make sure I don't arrive at peak times.

The grilled king prawns tasted very good. I was disappointed with the two different things from the duck. The breast was cooked through and not pink as advertised on the menu and the leg was also relatively al dente despite being cooked sous-vide. Red cabbage, dumplings and sauce tasted very good. Unfortunately the baked apple had a moldy taste. There was probably a problem with the filling. For 32 euros you can expect more in terms of quality and quantity. I found the tiramisu with apple and cinnamon boring. The hoped-for taste explosion did not materialize. Ambiance and service were OK. Overall, the high prices don't match the offer for me. For people with celiac disease, this restaurant is one of a few options. However, for someone without intolerances, there are significantly better alternatives in this price category in Hamburg.

A clear recommendation for anyone with gluten intolerance! The pizza is great and there is even vegan cheese or lactose-free cheese if necessary. We booked spontaneously that day and got something straight away. In our opinion, if you want to have a quiet and romantic meal, you should look for something else, as it gets quite loud as soon as the restaurant fills up. However, that depends on the premises. The employees were all friendly and tried hard. I would definitely come back for my pizza.

There is no better pizzeria in Hamburg. Insanely beautiful atmosphere. Incredibly nice service. First class cuisine. All pizzas are optionally available gluten-free (including the bread) and with vegan cheese. Absolute recommendation!
