Rudolph's in Hamburg

Because of our daughter's celiac disease, we ate at Rudolphs. The gluten-free as well as the normal pizza are awesome. Incredibly delicious. However, the composition of the pizzas/toppings are not for everyone and I would have liked a little more standard. We hardly noticed any children there, which is probably because there are no children's meals such as fries. What really bothered us was that we were sitting so close together. As many tables as possible were squeezed into the smallest space.

Yesterday the four of us had dinner with friends at Rudolph’s restaurant. Overall we had an enjoyable evening, but there were both positives and negatives. The appetizers, which were really impressive in terms of taste, should be highlighted positively. The service was friendly and courteous, and the ambience and location of the restaurant were also very appealing. In addition, the prices were absolutely reasonable. However, there were a few points that clouded the overall impression. We were not greeted or greeted upon entering the restaurant, which did not leave a good first impression. In addition, when we asked, we were not given any bread because it had to be freshly baked - which speaks for freshness, but is unusual in a restaurant, especially when you have to wait 20 minutes for it after you had already finished your starter. Another drawback was the attentiveness of the service staff: although the restaurant was relatively empty, you always had to actively wave the waiters over to place an order or ask something. (order more drinks) The biggest criticism, however, was that during our stay the guest room was being rearranged for an event or something similar - tables and chairs were moved in one area while guests were still present. This shouldn't happen in a well-run restaurant. This causes unrest and discomfort. Conclusion: The restaurant definitely has potential, especially with the quality of the food and the ambience. However, there is an urgent need to work on the organization and service in order to offer guests an all-round pleasant experience.

Nice if you like large structures with lots of people

I often get pizza to go here and can generally recommend the restaurant. The pizza is classic Pizza Neapolitana with a really tasty, juicy sourdough. The dips on offer also go perfectly with the thick edge, all of which are super tasty. In terms of price, I think the pizza is totally fair for the quality and taste. To take away, the preparation is usually pretty quick. The only small drawback is the small selection of pizzas, especially vegetarian ones. The mixed vegetables are already pre-mixed, so unfortunately you can't leave anything out. It would be nicer to be more flexible here. Overall, I can recommend Rudolph's.

The tiramisu was really great and they also understood the gluten-free issue. The gluten-free pizza was very tasty and definitely worth a visit.

We had an excellent 3 course menu. Everything tasted great. The portions were also reasonable. Service was very nice and friendly. I asked for a quieter table and that's what I got. The restaurant can be noisy when it is at full capacity. We'll be back the next time we visit HH.

We have liked Rudolphs for years and always come with the whole family on special occasions. The food is delicious as always. However, we had to wait a long time for food. And tables that came after us got their food before us. That can happen - no problem - it would just be nice if it was communicated honestly. We found it incredibly loud and therefore not comfortable. But we always like to come back!

Reserved and turned away extremely rudely because there was no more space :( Edit: I would consider having asked for 2 places by phone and being assured of them reserved. We were on the phone with a man and a woman behind the counter rudely rejected us and didn't even want to listen to us. Our names weren't even asked.

The food was really very good. This should also be the case with the prices. Very good options for people with gluten intolerances. The service was good, although from time to time you had the feeling that you were a bit rushed. Always friendly and professional but also piece work. I'm relatively tall and have to say that the gaps between the tables were a bit small, even for the waitresses who probably meandered through. One or two tables less would have made the week more relaxing. So you couldn't help but always be part of the conversations of the people sitting next to you at the table. But since the clientele was polite, this wasn't a problem. As you notice. Complaining on a high level but since you commit yourself to this level, this is only 4 stars for me. I will still recommend the restaurant and go there again myself. Maybe I'll correct it next time...

Nice atmosphere and nice staff. Unfortunately the pizza was a bit too oily/greasy. Unfortunately the tiramisu wasn't that good. The service wasn't good, but that wasn't due to the staff per se, but because there weren't enough staff on duty that evening. I don't want to wait for minutes to reorder and especially not to pay.

If you have celiac disease, a visit to Rudolph's is a must, but ATTENTION! On my last visit I received a pizza containing gluten and unknowingly ate a slice. As if the incident wasn't tragic enough, the phone call with Ms. Rudolph was underground. She often has customers who forget to order a gluten-free pizza, and I also have to know what a gluten-free pizza looks like in her house and should have been able to tell the difference. I have been eating gluten-free since 2008 and have eaten gluten-free at Rudolph's 4 times since then, the last time in 2022. As a celiac, there is no restaurant visit where you can hide your intolerance, on the contrary, forgetting would lead to an extremely unpleasant gluten accident, like any celiac disease Those affected try to avoid it. As a celiac you come into contact with your intolerance every day, which makes it impossible to forget. I personally tasted the difference, which Ms. Rudolph said was impossible. Unfortunately, that was my last visit to Rudolph's, not because there was this mix-up, but because Ms. Rudolph doesn't have a customer-oriented service mentality in the slightest. It's the customer's fault, congratulations.

Negative: - We were there with a large group and after we had chosen the dishes and wanted to order, the waiter told us that there was only pizza available today. - The prices for a simple rump steak and pizza/pasta were between 14-18€ (pizza) and 32 euros (steak). - Although the pizzas were made in-house, the taste of the pizza is surpassed by any frozen pizza. - Payment can only be made by card. Positive: - Ambience seemed quite modern and calm - Service was friendly

Very nice restaurant with typical Mediterranean cuisine. The food is very good, pizza is delicious and desserts are tasty. However, the atmosphere is somewhat hall-like and the acoustics are almost unbearable when the restaurant is busy. In the front area of ​​the restaurant it can get quite cool and cold to the feet in winter. But we'd love to come back.

First of all, I would like to emphasize the great and very courteous service. When making the reservation, I asked for a quiet table, but this could not be accommodated at first. When we asked, we were given a table in a quieter corner. It would be nice if such requests could be taken into account directly, but I thought it was great that a solution was found for us on site. The ambience is tasteful, but overall it is a rather noisy restaurant as everything is open plan. That's nice, but a challenge for me as a noise-sensitive person. The food was OK, but not enlightening. For the price I would have expected a little more, but it wasn't that it wasn't tasty. Throughout the evening, the service continued to be the highlight. Very friendly, clever and engaging. I may visit the restaurant again, but then make sure I don't arrive at peak times.

The grilled king prawns tasted very good. I was disappointed with the two different things from the duck. The breast was cooked through and not pink as advertised on the menu and the leg was also relatively al dente despite being cooked sous-vide. Red cabbage, dumplings and sauce tasted very good. Unfortunately the baked apple had a moldy taste. There was probably a problem with the filling. For 32 euros you can expect more in terms of quality and quantity. I found the tiramisu with apple and cinnamon boring. The hoped-for taste explosion did not materialize. Ambiance and service were OK. Overall, the high prices don't match the offer for me. For people with celiac disease, this restaurant is one of a few options. However, for someone without intolerances, there are significantly better alternatives in this price category in Hamburg.

Delicious gluten-free pizza and friendly service

A clear recommendation for anyone with gluten intolerance! The pizza is great and there is even vegan cheese or lactose-free cheese if necessary. We booked spontaneously that day and got something straight away. In our opinion, if you want to have a quiet and romantic meal, you should look for something else, as it gets quite loud as soon as the restaurant fills up. However, that depends on the premises. The employees were all friendly and tried hard. I would definitely come back for my pizza.

My husband also accidentally received a gluten-free pizza, which didn't bother him at all because it tasted like a normal pizza. There were also Christmas pastries to buy (cookies, donuts, cakes, etc.), which were completely gluten-free. Simply a dream for celiacs!

Not enough pasta dishes for an Italian restaurant. Bread had been ordered with the scampi, but this only came when we had already finished eating. This should have been brought together with the scampi dish. Several guests were bothered by the fact that they can no longer pay with cash.

Ein leichter Bahnhofshallencharakter stellt sich beim betreten ein. Die Anordnung der Sitzgelegenheiten und die Deckenhöhe lassen nicht wirklich gemütlichkeit aufkommen. Das Personal gemischt. Ein Teil super freundlich und bemüht, der junge Mann hingegen hatte wohl auch Verständnisschwierigkeiten mit der Lautstärke hat sich aber keinen Meter bewegt und als Ausrede " die haben die Karte verändert, das weiss ich jetzt nicht" aus der Affäre gezogen. Das lass ich so nicht gelten! Die Pizza sah super aus und war geschmacklich ganz gut. Allerdings sind die Weinpreise jenseits von gut und Böse. Kann man muss man aber nicht wiederholen.

The food was very good and the service was friendly, although there was a lot to do due to the high number of guests. That's not the case everywhere. But while we were able to enjoy our get-together on the terrace in the summer, we discovered that the tables in the restaurant were far too close together and the noise level was so high that conversation was hardly possible. In addition, there were no proper children's chairs. We will probably have to look for another location for family celebrations in the future.

I was traveling with a large group without a reservation and after some back and forth we got a table. The busboy was obviously overwhelmed, but the boss reacted really well. Our actual waitress was super friendly, quick and had a sense of humor. The food was simply great. I can only recommend the penne. However, it's a shame that the creme brûle is advertised but cannot be obtained. Any intolerances were also responded to immediately. Really great.

Thanks to the obviously consistent separation of processes in the kitchen between gluten-free and non-gluten-free, our child was able to eat a pizza for the first time. We had dinner there yesterday with 16 people (reserved in advance) and had to decide on a dish in advance. I found it strange because there were discrepancies on site and it took a long time to reconcile them, although we could actually have decided on a dish on site. Then in addition to the drinks, a large cola costs 5.50 and a large beer (Pils) costs 4.90. It's strange that alcohol is cheaper than a soft drink. Atmosphere very nice, waitress normally polite. And unfortunately towards the end we all saw a mouse crawling up the curtain.... phew we had forwarded it. Price performance not suitable. All in all, I won't be coming back again. Not very appetizing with the mouse.

We ate pizzas, gluten-free and normal. The three of us all enjoyed the food and was tolerable. The service when making the reservation and on site was excellent, very accommodating and polite. The waiter even helped us find a sky pub that we visited after our meal. At the end of our stay, we were greeted nicely by all the restaurant staff who saw us leaving and everyone thanked us for our visit. Thank you for the lovely time at Rudolphs.

Visiting from England, one vegan, one fussy eater and one regular, all very well catered for with quick, tasty food in good portion sizes, by a friendly team and in house dog who might be kind enough to come over and say hi. Thank you Rudolph's. Only 4* for ambience as we visited towards the end of lunchtime as lots of people were finishing.

I had lunch there with my family. Since we are known to have celiac disease, we deliberately chose this restaurant. It was recommended as gluten-free online and also advertises gluten-free dishes itself. The food was very tasty: we had both pizza and pasta. Unfortunately the “bill” arrived a few hours later. Apparently the food was contaminated with gluten. Every person suffering from true celiac disease knows their symptoms due to traces of gluten, e.g. B. when these float as light flour dust in the air in the kitchen. Therefore there is a point deduction for the restaurant's apparent ignorance.

Super delicious pizza, also gluten-free

Very well attended and incredibly loud! The aqua gazata we ordered came quietly, the pizza with gorgonzola and salsiccia without sausage, and the spaghetti with shrimp came without shrimp. The complaints were received in a friendly manner and the espressos “on the house” were a little comforting.

The restaurant is in the Speicherstadt. It can be reached with the U1 via Meßberg. There is seating inside as well as outside. The pizza and pasta can be ordered gluten-containing or gluten-free. Gluten-free flour is used to make the dough. There is an extra pizza oven for gluten-free pizzas. The desserts are all gluten-free. The staff is very friendly. I will gladly come again.

We have never felt so unwanted in a restaurant. The service cannot be beaten in terms of rudeness and unprofessionalism. The only thing that gets praise is the gluten-free pizza.

For being in Germany the pizza is really good, a good, excellent dough, even if the devil's toppings were wrong, because spicy salami is added, not green chili pepper and pickles. For the rest the crew seems to be courteous and welcoming, there is only one elderly lady at the bar who looks at you from head to toe, and probably judges the customers by their clothing, and when I asked her if they did take-away pizza after having told me yes, I asked her for the menu, and she got annoyed telling me to give her time. I repeat, the pizza was almost like they make it in Naples only the toppings were inappropriate and the lady at the counter was snotty.

The two of us would have eaten there early in the evening. The starter was buffalo mozzarella, the main course was gluten-free Bolognese and pizza with honey, gorgonzola and spicy salami. Finally, we treated ourselves to the brownie. Everything is indescribably delicious. The service was also great, a young blonde girl and a gentleman with a beard were very accommodating. Simply a very nice experience and a clear recommendation!

Anyone who doesn't have a canteen meets here. It's full at lunchtime. It's noisy. The service is stressed.

Spaghetti Gamba was perfect, panacotta was super tasty, Zwickel beer was terrible but my Campari Orange was very tasty. However, the service was really very unfriendly and rude. We had pre-ordered for 24 people for a long time and given our menu and still nothing worked. It's a shame considering the prices.

You can hear the boss, Ms. Rudolph herself, constantly yelling, which completely ruins the dining experience and you don't want to stay for long. It has also become clear from the service employees that they are not treated fairly... all in all, we won't be going there anymore. For me, modern slavery/servitude is something we don't want to support under any circumstances
