We recently celebrated our wedding at the Ruderei with roughly 40 guests, and it was an absolutely fantastic evening. The professionalism shown in the planning and organization beforehand was a huge help. And on the evening itself, the food and service were outstanding. All our guests were still raving about it days later. Many thanks to the entire Ruderei team for making this evening possible!

It's really lovely there, great atmosphere, excellent service, absolutely friendly, and the food is fantastic and really good. Plus, plenty of parking... we'll definitely be back.

We were there for a small family celebration. The restaurant is superbly organized, and the service is very attentive! The food is simply fantastic! Whether vegan, vegetarian, or with fish and meat, it's rare to find that even vegans have a fine selection. We'd love to go back!

Better late than never...:We celebrated our wedding at the Ruderei in July, and it was a wonderfully beautiful afternoon and evening. We chose the Ruderei because the venue offers space for 80 people both indoors and on the beautiful terrace. Everything worked out perfectly. The ambiance was wonderful, the service impeccable, the food outstanding – our guests were absolutely thrilled, even the vegetarians, as the Ruderei offers imaginative and delicious vegetarian dishes. We danced until 4 a.m. without disturbing anyone. Thanks again to Eddi, Matthias, and the whole team ❤️

A secluded but very idyllic location on the Main River. Great view, even when it was raining. The food is truly outstanding and unexpected. The tartar, in terms of quality and combination... I didn't need any additional seasoning; everything was perfect. The colleagues' food was also in perfect condition and tasted perfectly. The wine list is also very good; all in all, a successful evening. The acoustics in the restaurant could be improved somewhat; as the place was quite full, it was difficult to have a conversation, especially at a table. This could perhaps be improved; there are already acoustic elements hanging over some of the tables. The staff were also very attentive and truly outstanding; the younger colleague could have been a bit nicer in her tone; then this would also be a 5 out of 5. All in all, a great evening. Thank you.

Dear Eddi, dear Matze, dear Ruderei team, On August 30, 2025, we were able to celebrate our wedding with almost 90 adults at your venue. We are often guests and are always extremely impressed by the fantastic food, the delicious drinks, and the friendly service. Last spring, we contacted you because we could definitely imagine celebrating our wedding at your venue. After a really pleasant conversation with competent and helpful planning tips, it immediately became clear to us: We couldn't imagine our wedding anywhere else but at the Ruderei. After clarifying the schedule and our wishes for the sharing menu, which always went smoothly, we were incredibly excited for the day! And what can we say: rightly so, thanks to you, the day was simply perfect. From the reception with spritzers, coffee, and cakes, to the fantastic and diverse appetizers and main courses, all served on sharing platters at the table, to the delicious desserts, medlars, espresso, and cheese and sausage platter for the party, you spoiled our guests and us. Our guests, like us, were absolutely thrilled with the concept, creativity, and quality of the menu, and we heard several times that they had never eaten so well at a wedding. But that's not all: The service was impeccable throughout; the team was prompt, friendly, and accommodating. The children were also wonderfully looked after. Matze and Eddi made us feel at home from the first meeting until the day after the celebration and welcomed us warmly. We look forward to returning to the Ruderei again in the future and reminiscing. We had a wonderful evening at the Ruderei yesterday. The food was incredibly delicious, and both the vegetarian and meat dishes were to our complete satisfaction. We were there on one of the hottest days, a day when the air "burns" and even shade offers no relief. A day when you don't really want to be outside unless absolutely necessary. So we decided to go inside, out of necessity, to relax and eat in pleasantly air-conditioned air. But what was that? The place has no air conditioning. The food was good, very tasty, the service was fine, the ambiance, etc., everything was wonderful... So you can go there with a clear conscience, but not when the temperatures are like those in Death Valley, the Gobi Desert, the surface of the sun, or an oven. Then you're definitely in the wrong place on this planet.

Price-performance ratio could be a bit better, but otherwise wonderful.

As a bride and groom, we were able to enjoy our big day in complete relaxation – without stress, without rushing. Everything was just perfect: The food was an absolute dream – every single guest raved about it! The service team was attentive, prompt, and superbly organized: Plates were refilled immediately, drinks were never empty, and yet everything was pleasantly unobtrusive. Conclusion: For us, it was an all-around perfect day – with delicious food, great drinks, and a team that simply knows what they're doing. We would make the same decision again anytime!

We celebrated a small wedding at the Ruderei in March and were thrilled. The food was 85% vegan at our request and truly excellent. The chefs gave us excellent advice beforehand, and the service was sensational. Both guests and the bride and groom were happy and satisfied. You couldn't ask for more!

I was visiting friends, and we ate here. I also ordered schnitzel and fries... the name Ruderei somehow made me think it was "just" a snack bar. I'm really sorry. The menu was a total surprise. Lots of delicious vegetarian dishes, great drinks, great service, the food came quickly and hot. Everything was clean, everyone was friendly, and the prices were fair! I'll be back! Im Sommer lässt es sich dort bestimmt herrlich sitzen, und man kann bei einem Glas Wein den Tag ausklingen lassen. Nachdem wir schon länger einmal die Ruderei besuchen wollten, haben wir es endlich geschafft und wurden nicht enttäuscht. Vom Empfang über das Ambiente, den tollen und freundlichen Service, das sehr leckere Essen bis hin zu den hervorragend gemixten Drinks – wow! Wir waren begeistert! Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist für die Qualität der Speisen und die gut durchdachte Karte absolut angemessen. Die Gerichte sind qualitativ hochwertig und geschmacklich überzeugend. Top! We had a really great evening at the rowing club and will definitely be back soon. The restaurant near the Main, in the RC Hassia building, impresses with its quiet location, large parking lot and inviting terrace. In the summer it's definitely a lovely place to sit and end the day with a glass of wine. After we had wanted to visit the rowing facility for a long time, we finally made it and were not disappointed. From the reception to the ambience, the great and friendly service, the very tasty food to the excellently mixed drinks - wow! We were thrilled! The price-performance ratio is absolutely appropriate for the quality of the food and the well-thought-out menu. The dishes are of high quality and taste convincing. Top! We'll be regulars here!

We “rediscovered” rowing in Hanau. The selection for vegans is also very extensive. The starters are very extensive and we were actually already full afterwards :-) Great location on the terrace with a view of the Main. The only drawback as a non-smoker was a “smoking” table next to us. We'd love to come back.

Last week I celebrated my 70th birthday in the rowing shop with 54 guests. I didn't know this location until now and came there last summer on a recommendation. I was excited from the start. The uncomplicated preliminary conversation with Matze and the first impression of the guest room quickly convinced me. Together with my girlfriend and Eddi, we quickly got everything sorted out easily. The evening itself was a blast. All my guests were thrilled with the food, the service and the location. Everything was just perfect. This is exactly how I imagined and wanted my birthday party. The party lasted late into the night and I don't regret a cent. Keep it up guys...we'll be back!

We had a wonderful evening together as a group of four. I'm still at a loss for words, otherwise I would have written this review sooner. The Ruderei is a restaurant with a tavern-like atmosphere, offering fine dining in a cozy setting. Delicious food and very friendly and attentive staff; we were all delighted and will definitely return. The restaurant's location makes it an insider tip, far from Hanau's pedestrian zone but with a beautiful view of the Main River.

Service was quick, but without a single smile. 5 seconds after receiving the wine list we were supposed to express our drink preference. A bowl of olives was carelessly placed on the table - without mentioning that there was no bread or anything like that. When the aperitif was served and we were thinking about ordering a wine with the meal and also wondering whether we should snack on the olives now, the food arrived - about 4 minutes after we ordered - strangely. The food was very good, but the price was also very steep. About the ambience: it was full and loud, every square centimeter was packed with tables and chairs, you literally sat at the neighboring table... After eating we weren't really noticed, so we had to make ourselves known to order another drink and then get the bill later. Unfortunately, everything isn't so great that you definitely have to come back when choosing a restaurant in Hanau...

Ambiance is a matter of taste or normal as it is a large room with a small one next door. From my side and my wife's side, the food was top quality and plentiful but also expensive. As a starter I had oar salad with mango and cashew nuts, which were chopped and caramelized and sprinkled over the salad. The dressing was also great. My venison meatballs with mashed potatoes, roasted onions and sauce almost like my mom's with normal meatballs (2 large ones) and plenty of sauce. My wife had the schnitzel with cooked cheese and homemade fries. Schnitzel perfectly prepared (breading came off the meat), the fries were large and the cooked cheese was very good. The other dishes were the truffle burger and the dumplings but unfortunately I can't say what they were like but there was nothing left of them either. I would only recommend a starter if you are very hungry as it is also very well sized. Service was very close to perfect and make sure you make a reservation.

I have no idea where to start - I love it here, whether summer or Wibter - always sensations on the plate (whether vegan or traditional), very fair prices with great service and a feel-good atmosphere - my third place. Thank you Matze, Eddi and the whole team

On Valentine's Day we had dinner at the rowing house. We were greeted warmly, but the friendliness decreased over the evening. First of all, we had to wait almost 1.5 hours for our food, which only came after we asked (without apology). The food was very tasty and the atmosphere was nice, but we expected more for the price. Last but not least, we heard the boss's loud conversation with the regular customers, who complained about us and others that we had so much "seat meat", while he said: "Look to the right and left", with a nod to us and to others. It should also be mentioned that they were sitting right next to us.

We were there for the first time today and we will definitely be back. The food was very tasty and the service was simply TOP!!! Thank you for the lovely evening.

We visited for a company event and were pleasantly impressed. The food was really good. The homemade truffle burger is particularly noteworthy. The prices are quite steep, but quality comes at a price. The service was friendly and contributed to the relaxed atmosphere. I'd love to come back to try the delicious burger again.

It's been my favorite restaurant since it opened. They still cook properly here – but with good ideas. I've never had a red cabbage and venison roulade with Trollinger before – absolutely delicious. New vegetarian creations are constantly being added. The service is relaxed and casual – definitely without that Frankfurt attitude. And: ask the bartender what the bar has to offer: from Negroni to Ruderei Spritz to the well-stocked digestif trolley, no one will go dry. Highly recommended!

The restaurant we originally wanted to go to was still closed for the winter. We came here on the restaurant's recommendation and were absolutely thrilled. I've worked in the restaurant industry for a long time myself, and I have to say that as a guest here, you can really tell the passion the people are behind what they do. Service, ambiance, and food are all of a very high standard. As a vegan, I'm particularly pleased with the creative selection of vegan dishes. The cauliflower shawarma was delicious! 😋 I'm looking forward to future visits to try the other dishes and also take a closer look at the wine list.

On September 28th, 2024 we celebrated a big family and friends party with over 60 guests in the rowing hall. It was a fantastic day, which Eddi and the rowing team made something very special! We felt like we were in good hands at all times and all of our guests were thrilled with the delicious food, drinks and the impeccable, attentive and super friendly service. The wonderful ambience with the great view of the Main lightens the mood even further. We hired a live band and a magician and there was also space for dancing. The idea of ​​organizing dinner as a table buffet is brilliant and contributes greatly to a relaxed atmosphere. We really appreciated the flexibility in putting together a custom menu with vegan and gluten-free options and everyone loved it. Many of the guests want to come back to the rowing shop to be pampered even without a “big reason”. We are already looking forward to the next visit.

Very nice, tastefully decorated restaurant in a great location on the Main. We were able to enjoy a wonderful view of the Main on the outdoor terrace and had a very nice and cozy evening there. Super friendly, attentive and fast service. Despite the restaurant being full, you were served very quickly. Food and drinks came very quickly and you were regularly asked whether everything was OK and whether you would like to order anything else. The food is absolutely top notch in terms of quality and portion size. Beautifully prepared plates and a very nice selection of different dishes. Particularly noteworthy is the large selection of different aperitifs and wines as well as spirits. Definitely worth a visit, we'll definitely be back.

Unfortunately, we were greeted with the fact that our telephone reservation didn't work out. After a short discussion it was said: “Don’t worry, I’ll seat you”. We should actually have said goodbye with thanks… but at that point we thought “well, it could happen.” Unfortunately, to put it positively, the service was sluggish throughout the entire evening. The starter was at the table before the drinks and since the drinks order took hours to arrive, we ordered the bill as soon as we received the main course. Even if the restaurant is full, the overall package should be suitable for the guest at this price level... The food was delicious, you can't say anything about it. Nevertheless, we found the experience rather disappointing and won't be coming back anytime soon.

We ended up here because of the good reviews and were totally thrilled. The ambience by the river is beautiful. The employees were all really nice. Even though we hadn't made a reservation and it was busy, we still managed to get a spot and felt very welcome. We treated ourselves to a starter, main course and dessert and were absolutely thrilled because it was so incredibly tasty. There is even a selection of different vegan dishes. Really fantastic!

Best of Hanau. Actually the Qui was the goal, but that's until August 9th. still on vacation. So Google out and the “rowing company” with 5***** immediately came into focus. Arrived, parking lot on the Main in front of the door, received a friendly welcome, all respect. All tables with reserved signs were occupied when we left around 8 p.m. Ambiance first class for a rowing club. Top. We were assigned a beautiful counter with a bar stool, which was our thing anyway, a fantastic view of the “sea”! There were three maps that were explained in detail by the staff, everyone was careful to make sure everything fit. Green for the kitchen and drinks, pink for the wines and again daily specials. The shared starter “Bacalau (rockfish)” croquettes with caper mayonaise was a real hit. Visually and tastefully delicious. Bravo. The “Ruderei” steak salad in top quality, the “Ruderei” beef tartare with toasted farmhouse bread, anchovies, Dijon mustard, shallots and capers, both with the freshest ingredients. Class. When I was making the tartare, I had the feeling at times that the chef was at Haxen Reichert's workshop. Same level. Taste 1:1. Marzipanous! World class. Plus a rose called “Doktorspiele” and an ice-cold non-alcoholic Schneider, what more could you ask for on a Wednesday evening? Goes on the list of repeat offenders. The team had prepared the ambience, the lovingly decorated tables and the inviting food and drink menu especially for this celebration. The agreed menu was highly praised by all guests; Many guests would like to come back specifically for this reason. From the finger food platter, starter, main course, dessert and midnight snack, everything was really perfect! We had a table buffet so that our guests could all relax and take what they wanted. The concept was very well received by the guests! The Spritz variants were all very tasty and there was plenty of drinking and celebrating. We decided on a flying menu. The starters were incredibly tasty and there was something for everyone. Our wish was to also offer vegetarian and vegan versions. What can I say, it was implemented perfectly. All the guests praised the starters, main courses, desserts and also the selection of drinks. And everyone told us how incredibly good the service staff were. The plan was to celebrate mainly outside, but a rain shower got in the way. Matze and Eddi reacted spontaneously and restructured everything perfectly so that we could also celebrate inside the way we imagined. We celebrated our wedding here, everything was perfectly prepared, the food was excellent, including vegetarian and gluten-free dishes, and drinks of the highest standard. The service is always courteous, friendly and absolutely competent. The friendly, nice and reliable manner of management is even more impressive. Would love to come back. Conclusion: top gastronomy, top service, top food and drinks, top indoor location and terrace.

Tja, das beste zuerst: alle Bedienungen waren höflich und zuvorkommend. Die Karte liest sich gut, das Ambiente auf der Terrasse war angenehm. Aber: das Essen war (heute) fast schon mangelhaft. Frittierte Pilze und ein frittiertes Cordon Bleu mit Pommes aus der Tüte, von wegen selbstgemacht. Der Kartoffelsalat war nur sauer mit 3 Gurkenscheiben. Zur Vorspeise gab es noch verbranntes Brot. Die Portionsgrößen im Verhältnis zu den sehr gehobenen Preisen eher mickrig. Die Vorspeise kam nach einer halben Stunde, der Hauptgang nach 70 Minuten!! Leute, das war heute nix. Vielleicht haben wir aber auch nur den falschen Tag erwischt.

Mega great location!!!! Great drinks, delicious food, nice location, very good service, great terrace, parking spaces in front of the door, even perfume and other hygiene products in the toilet.. what more could you want?!

We celebrated our wedding on May 11th with 65 guests in the rowing hall. It was a wonderful day and Matze, Eddi and the whole rowing team really made it something very special!!! We are super happy and all of our guests, without exception, really enjoyed the food and drinks and praised the flawless, attentive service! After the free wedding ceremony on the beautiful banks of the Main, we celebrated properly on the terrace. We hired a live band and had delicious finger food. Anyone who has ever been to the rowing hall is certainly familiar with all the refreshing spritz variants, both alcohol-free and with, which, as always, tasted excellent on this sunny day. The subsequent dinner with a menu put together especially for us left nothing to be desired. The starters were absolutely fantastic, the octopus and redfish were on point, the beef was tender as butter, the pork belly and Frankfurter schnitzel were super crispy and the desserts were also delicious. All that's left to say is: "It's a shame that you only get married once in your life. We would do it again in the rowing house at any time." ... but luckily you can go to the rowing shop and enjoy various delicacies à la carte without getting married ;)

We celebrated our wedding in the rowing house and would do it there again at any time! We had a wonderful day there. The preparation was uncomplicated and friendly, the arrangements worked well and the offer was very transparent and understandable for us, so that we were able to plan our budget well. On the day itself everything went like clockwork. Set-up for the free wedding ceremony by the water, in a great ambience, was also taken care of. The service staff were super accommodating and simply great. The food - outstanding. Especially if you value creative and unusual vegetarian and vegan dishes, this is the place for you. Our guests also highly praised the food and the great ambience with the terrace overlooking the Main. It was a really great way to celebrate - absolute recommendation!!

Conclusion of our first and last visit: There is good quality food in a nice atmosphere. Portions are okay, staff is very attentive The generally very sporty price level borders on outrageous in some cases... so for us it's not a restaurant that we would visit again or recommend to others, which is a shame🥲

Great food, very good service and great location.

We were there yesterday for the first time and definitely not the last time. Staff very accommodating, attentive and friendly. Food is awesome, quality, taste, quantity is great, no matter if it's a starter, main course or dessert, there's absolutely nothing to complain about here. Yes, it has its price but it is 100% worth it. Even our teenager was thrilled.

Oh yes, you shouldn't actually reveal any insider tips, but it was so nice and the food and service were so good, I just have to give it full marks. I hope we can find a place again, especially on the terrace in summer, the next time we want to go.

We are absolutely thrilled with the restaurant. We were entertained there after our civil wedding - service, food, everything was great and delicious! Even our guests were very impressed and will visit the restaurant again <3

A stylistic shop for Hanau and the surrounding area. Food is more hyped without actually delivering. 400g entrecote is lean underweight/matchstick potatoes very heavily fried/no salad included at just under €40 🫤 The service was spot-on, chicly tattooed and really on the ball!!! Price/performance is already fluctuating a lot. Drink prices are just about fair, but they're way too high for food.

Great restaurant right on the Main!! Super tasty dishes and very friendly staff!! The homemade lemonades are particularly recommended!! Dogs are welcomed very nicely and get their own drink!

The restaurant was located on the rooftop and has ample parking. The ambience is quite casual and and portions are really good value for money! I ordered an appetizer and main and was so full I didn’t have any more room for desserts!

We were there for the first time and had imagined it to be different, but that can't be seen as a bad thing. What was a bit annoying was my wife's food. Their specially named shepherd's cheese Cordon Bleue was filled with toasted cheese for burgers. At the table next door it was later correct and you could see that. That wasn't okay for the high-priced card. The steaks were also medium and not medium rear. Overall, rather disappointed, but you should give it a second chance.
