Rucola & Grana - ITALIENISCHES CAFÉ UND RESTAURANT am Märtens Teich in Leinefelde-Worbis

We reserved a table for 6:30 pm on October 8th, 2025. The restaurant was completely full. They gave us a sticky folding table near the restrooms. They offered us half a glass of Prosecco as an apology. We waited 35 minutes for our reserved table. The pizza was only topped in the middle and was lukewarm. The pasta with meat sauce was a joke in terms of both quantity and taste. The word "apology" was unheard of. Instead, we were treated rudely.

Unfortunately, I can't agree with the positive reviews. We recently went there with a large group for dinner. I was looking forward to delicious Italian food, but I was very disappointed with my pasta. There were only two shrimp on the tiny portion (I certainly wasn't full). I also expected much more from an Italian restaurant in terms of taste. The service was overwhelmed; we often had to ask several times when our drinks would arrive. The restaurant itself was clean, but the restrooms were an adventure (if you weren't quick enough, you'd suddenly find yourself sitting in the dark, and they weren't exactly clean either). It's a real shame, because I really expected more. I won't be coming back. What a pity.

Beautiful location with a view of the water

We had a lovely, convivial evening here with good friends. It was quite busy, with 14 of us. Our server was very friendly and patiently accommodated several special requests. Everyone enjoyed the food. The price was perfectly reasonable. Even the fact that everyone wanted to pay separately was no problem at all. We all left with a very positive impression. A wonderful evening. Thank you.

Very nice atmosphere, the staff were very friendly but also stressed due to the crowd. Unfortunately, the food wasn't great, as my pizza was burnt on the bottom and the dough wasn't cooked through. Unfortunately, I had to wait almost an hour for the pizza, while my companion had the pasta on the table after just 20 minutes. Unfortunately, we didn't eat together.

We decided to visit spontaneously based on a Google search and the review! The ambiance was modern and Italian ☺️ The staff was very courteous and attentive. We ordered pizza and pasta. The stone-baked pizza was delicious. The pasta with tomato sauce was also delicious. The children's special requests were easily accommodated! Even the children ate both of them. That's a positive sign considering the portions. If we're ever in the area again, we'll definitely be back!

Great food and delicious coffee

We were here on August 9, 2025, with 13 people for coffee and cake for the school entrance ceremony. Unfortunately, the visit was very disappointing. There was no cake, drinks arrived late or were forgotten, the service was generally uncoordinated, and the selection did not match the menu. Particularly egregious: One child was doused head to toe with hot milk foam during the service – without any apology or compensation. We expected more professionalism and hospitality for a special occasion. Our subsequent email complaint went unanswered… we will never set foot in this establishment again.

Unfortunately, the restaurant didn't quite impress us. The pasta was cold, and the "pasta with shrimp" only came in two pieces – very small portions overall, so you won't really feel full. Drinks also took a long time to arrive, and the service seemed more reserved than friendly. On the plus side, the beautiful location is worth mentioning – probably also the reason why quite a few guests still come here. The pizza is solid, but we wouldn't recommend the pasta dishes. The breakfast selection is very limited, and the drinks are rarely refilled.

Very tasty food...anytime again.

This is the first time I've been disappointed. We sat outside for breakfast. First, I had to say something special to have the table cleaned, which then wasn't really clean. There were no dinner plates left, so I had to use a soup bowl. Of course, there was no cutlery outside. I waited in line for five minutes. The cutlery was wrapped in kitchen paper and not in napkins as I had hoped. Now for the fruit. The pineapple, along with the peel (which definitely wasn't a problem), had a brown, rotten rim and was inedible. The food and drinks were fine. I didn't want to sweep it all under the rug; there were too many negative things for me. I've been there many times for breakfast, and it's always been great. However, it was incredibly busy, which shouldn't be a reason for it. I hope it was an exception.

The decor and lighting are all well and good, but the staff are slow and don't really listen. My order was completely different than I requested, most likely because the waitress didn't write down an order for six people and tried to memorize it, which didn't quite work out.

I was completely impressed by Rucola & Grana. The restaurant is beautifully situated right next to a pond – a dreamy atmosphere, especially in good weather. The service was exceptionally friendly and attentive; you immediately feel welcome. And the food? Simply world-class! Fresh, authentic, and prepared with lots of love. I'll definitely be back!

Disastrous service! Our order was completely forgotten. During the hour and a half we waited, no one even asked for it. Even after we asked the wait staff, nothing came for half an hour. It seemed as if our request wasn't taken seriously at all. Only when we personally spoke to the manager after another 20 minutes did our food arrive, after a total of two hours. As an apology, we were each given a free drink. While this was a nice gesture from the manager, it was just a drop in the ocean given the extreme wait time.

It's a very nice restaurant, flooded with light and offering a beautiful view of the Märtens Pond. The food was delicious and the service friendly. I would definitely eat here again.

My mom and I spontaneously stopped by for pizza. The crust was super delicious (sometimes with salt ;)), flavorful tomato sauce, and the staff were very friendly and cheerful. The kitchen was visible, so every guest knew that everything was freshly prepared. You won't find any canned champignon or anything like that here. Thanks, we'll be back next time we visit Leinefelde.

We waited there with a larger group of about 30 people and were served drinks and food relatively quickly. Of course, it took a while for all the pizzas to be ready. I had the Diavolo, which I found very tasty. The crust was nice and crispy, yet still moist. The restrooms are clean and simple. The view of the pond is really beautiful.
