Rotes Haus am Kulkwitzer See in Leipzig

Auf einen Spaziergang hergekommen. An einem frühen Sonntagnachmittag war das Fass eben nicht übergelaufen... Es war leer. So dominierten die Flaschen, aber zu knackigen Preisen. Eher nicht empfehlenswert.

Leider war gar kein Fassbier mehr verfügbar (nachmittags) sodass ich nicht geblieben bin. Allerdings wäre ich wahrscheinlich auch sowieso wieder gegangen, da die Musikbeschallung zu penetrant war, innen wie auf der Terrasse. Zudem ist der Ausblick auf den See nicht bzw nur sehr partiell möglich, da die Terrasse sehr zugewachsen ist. Es war alles in allem für mich absolut unansprechend.

Sehr schöner Außenbeleuchtung, die Qualität des Essen lässt zi Wünschen übrig

Man sollte den Ort trotz der guten Lage meiner Meinung nach leider meiden. Nur ein kleiner Einblick - unsere Orangenlimo (Miranda, 0,2L für mehr als 3 Euro) war so abgestanden, dass absolut keine Kohlensäure mehr drin war und roch/schmeckte für uns stark nach Spülmittel (und damit ungenießbar/ untrinkbar). Außerdem wurde die (in einer Auslage warmgehaltene, laberige) Bratwurst falsch mit Senf statt Ketchup gebracht und trotz Hinweis auf Allergie wollte man den Senf „einfach abwischen“. Ich frag mich, ob die Leute dort ein Gesundheitszeugnis oder irgendwelche Kenntnisse im Umgang mit Lebensmitteln haben. Wenn das nicht gewährleistet, sollte man zumindest nicht solche Preise aufrufen. Als Gäste haben wir uns nicht willkommen, sondern eher lästig gefühlt. Vielleicht würde eine bessere Planung/ Organisation oder Schulung den Mitarbeitenden helfen, nicht so überfordert zu sein?

4 Euro für ein Leberkäse Brötchen in dieser Qualität ist äußerst frech, habe mitbekommen das ein anderer Gast ihr Eis (Milcheis) zurück gebracht hat weil es seit 10/25!! Abgelaufen war. War anscheind bekannt weil Personal kein Stress gemacht hat das Geld zurück zugeben. Erstes Mal und nie wieder

Äußerst nettes Personal, die Kellner haben sogar mit meinem Jungen Fußball gespielt. Ist sehr chillig so nah am See & ruhig. Kann es mit gutem Gewissen weiter empfehlen 😊👌

Es ging nur um einen Mittagssnack, eine Bratwurst mit Brötchen, die Bratwurst für 4 Euro war weder vom Grill noch schmackhaft und durchgebraten. Der Geschmack war kaum zu beschreiben, besser gesagt nicht genießbar.

Die Öffnungszeiten sind vor Ort ausgepriesen, Samstag und Sonntag ab 12 Uhr. Niemand da, keine Info, warum nicht. Online steht geöffnet. Dann halt nicht.

Das geht leider gar nicht da .. zu teuer und iwie ungemütliche Atmosphäre. Fischbrötchen war echt mies … Bier viel zu teuer. Da muss was grundlegendes geändert werden. Hat eig potenzial die loc ..

Absolut unfreundliches Personal. Ich habe mich dort in der Nähe erholt. Ein Mitarbeiter drohte uns mit der Polizei und sagte, wir dürften nicht grillen und so weiter. Als er merkte, dass wir keine Deutschen sind, schickte er uns auf äußerst unfreundliche Weise in unsere Heimat zurück. Und er erklärte, dass in Deutschland und die Deutschen wüssten, dass an diesem Ort niemand grillt. Dabei war der gesamte Freizeitbereich mit verschiedenen Gruppen und Grills belegt. Und selbst nachdem die Polizei vorbeigekommen war und bei allen die Sicherheitsvorschriften überprüft hatte, gab es bei uns keine Probleme. Ich halte die Beschimpfungen des Personals für äußerst rassistisch.

Wunderbare Lage direkt am See mit Imbissmöglichkeit in kleiner Pause nach Rad- oder Wandertour oder nach dem Baden.

Schön gelegen, aber nur Flaschenbier und die Bockwurst war offensichtlich schon länger im Wasserbad.

Total überfordertes Personal. Alles ohne Koordination. Das ist ne Katastrophe. Auszeichnung vom Essen ist genauso durcheinander und ohne Preise. Und die Qualität vom essen war auch unteres Niveau!

Sehr schöne Ecke, wo man sich mal ausruhen kann. Leider lassen das Essen und der Service sehr zu wünschen übrig. Ich habe schon lange nicht mehr so eine schlechte Bockwurst gegessen und das Brötchen dazu war wahrscheinlich vom Vortag. Hat einfach nur extrem nachgelassen.

Das Rote Haus lädt mit seiner idyllischen Lage sehr zum Verweilen ein. Leider darf man so gar keine hohen Erwartungen an Essen/Getränken haben. Sicherlich hat es die Gastronomie mit hohen Betriebskosten schwer aber für ein Wasser 0,4 l der Plaste-Lidl-Eigenmarke Jessen 4,50 € zu verlangen, finde ich dann doch sehr übertrieben. Des Weiteren wurden Plastebecher verwendet, was ich beim Thema Nachhaltigkeit sehr schwierig finde. Das typische „Heiß auf Eis“ war wirklich klein und zum ersten Mal befanden sich heiße Himbeeren direkt schon im Eisbecher und nicht wie gewohnt separat, sodass das Eis in weniger als 2 Minuten geschmolzen war. Wir hoffen sehr, dass der Betreiber irgendwann wieder genug Geld verdient um qualitativ hochwertigere Lebensmittel anzubieten, dann sind wir auch gerne bereit wieder zu kommen.

Das war schon recht ordentlich, jedoch gibt's hier noch deutlich "Luft nach oben". Das Personal war mit 2 Personen im Service keineswegs überbesetzt & hatte zum Ostersonntag gut zu tun...

Wir wollten gestern bei dem schönen Wetter auf einen Kaffee galt machen. Wir informierten uns über die Öffnungszeiten und freuten uns das geöffnet ist. Vor Ort wurden wir leider enttäuscht denn es war geschlossen, was wir sehr schade fanden.

Das Rote Haus am Kulkwitzer See (Kulki) ist für viele ein fester Begriff, wenn es um entspannte Stunden am Wasser geht. Hier ist eine Rezension, die sowohl die Atmosphäre als auch das Kulinarische beleuchtet. Das Rote Haus am Kulkwitzer See ist für mich die Adresse schlechthin, wenn man das Maximum an Urlaubsfeeling aus einem Tag am See herausholen möchte. Die Lage direkt am Ufer ist einfach unschlagbar: Man sitzt auf der Terrasse, lässt den Blick über das klare Wasser schweifen und kann wunderbar beobachten, wie die Taucher und Schwimmer am Einstieg vorbeiziehen. Besonders am späten Nachmittag, wenn die Sonne tiefer steht, herrscht hier eine Atmosphäre, die man so in Leipzig kein zweites Mal findet. ​Kulinarisch darf man hier keinen gehobenen Schickimicki erwarten, aber das will das Rote Haus auch gar nicht sein. Es ist ein ehrliches, bodenständiges Ausflugslokal mit Imbiss-Charakter. Die Klassiker wie Currywurst, Pommes oder das obligatorische Fischbrötchen sind frisch, die Portionen machen ordentlich satt und die Preise bleiben trotz der Top-Lage absolut im Rahmen. Es ist der perfekte Ort, um nach einer Umrundung des Sees oder einer Radtour bei einem kühlen Kaltgetränk die Beine hochzulegen. ​Man sollte allerdings wissen, dass es an sonnigen Wochenenden richtig voll werden kann. Da steht man auch mal einen Moment länger an oder muss auf einen freien Tisch warten. Das Personal gibt sich aber sichtlich Mühe, den Ansturm mit einer ordentlichen Portion Gelassenheit zu meistern. Wer es etwas ruhiger mag, sollte unter der Woche oder am frühen Vormittag vorbeischauen. Insgesamt ist das Rote Haus ein sympathischer, unkomplizierter Ankerpunkt am Kulki, den ich jedem Besucher nur wärmstens empfehlen kann

2x Tee im Pappbecher für 6.60 €. Frechheit!

We were there as a diving group and wanted to get some refreshments. A line of eight people stood for almost an hour until everyone was served. The meatloaf (€4) would have allowed me to read the newspaper, and the portions were very small for the price. Thanks, but I won't be back.

Perfect for a refreshing break during a bike ride or a beach holiday. Simple cuisine, reasonable prices. No one can be bothered by annoying wasps on the terrace.

The opening hours are changed arbitrarily. Today, despite the beautiful weather (despite opening until 9 p.m.), we found ourselves standing in front of a closed door at 7 p.m. A snack bar with a great location and atmosphere. Unfortunately, the service isn't living up to its potential. What a shame!

Skip this restaurant! The staff were incredibly unfriendly; we were the only customers, and it felt unwelcome. Maybe they don't want customers? Ordering and serving took ages, even though we were the only ones there. The worst part was the incredibly poor quality of the food. Canned soup with no flavor, "baguette" made of unbaked, pre-baked bread? The pizza was awful. Terrible and way overpriced (especially considering it's inedible). Give this place some love because the building and location are nice and offer potential.

Disappointing! I can't say much more about this experience, unfortunately. I was looking forward to some good fries after swimming – unfortunately, the portion was very small, and sauces cost 50 cents extra each. At least the food came quickly. However, the service wasn't to my liking. The ambiance outside on the terrace is okay, but inside it's a meadow of plastic flowers. I didn't feel very welcome.

The ambiance is truly wonderful – stylish, cozy, and inviting. Unfortunately, the food doesn't quite live up to its reputation: the taste is rather mediocre. The service was mostly unfriendly and overwhelmed. I even had to wait quite a long time for a single beer. Overall, the service seemed inexperienced and poorly organized. It's a shame, because with a better team, much more could be made of the beautiful ambiance.

Food is too small and overpriced. Fries aren't cooked through! They sell soft drinks as and when they're in the mood... no street sales.

No pizza, no pasta carbonara. Poor food quality – convenience food!

Very unfriendly service, we were told not to even order food: "I'm telling you right now, it'll take at least an hour, better not. I won't be able to make it anyway." It's all in the tone... Drinks were only available at a few tables, and most left. And not even all of the tables were available; at 50% of them, you weren't even allowed to sit down. And all this on a holiday with beautiful weather. Apparently, there was no ice cream either, even though a child had bought some shortly before. Chocolate ice cream with bad vanilla ice cream... unfortunately, not recommended.

Yeah, pretty good! Unfortunately, the view of the lake isn't really great due to the many trees. The food was okay. Unfortunately, the drinks were warm, and the white wine wasn't ideal. Service was friendly. Paying was difficult because there wasn't enough change. Otherwise, it was a great place to sit outside in nice weather. The interior looked quite well-kept. The restrooms were very dimly lit, but clean.

Service was so subpar that we decided to starve and die of thirst.. And if we didn't die, we'd still be dying of thirst today... Fun, but when we arrived at this establishment we were very rudely told that we wouldn't be served without a table, that other people would ask questions or that the staff would simply say no. what's the problem with selling a water bottle? My friend has epilepsy and diabetes and we would have paid 10 euros for a 500 ml flat…….

We were there for the first time today. We waited quite a long time despite the restaurant not being full. The staff worked hard, but there was little sign of restaurant experience among the staff. The food got cold because no cutlery came. Some of the food came separately. No thanks or warm words after payment. No asking if it tastes good. The clothing of the employees is sometimes inappropriate for a restaurant. The toilets are very dark. You can hardly see anything, especially since you're out of the sun in summer. The pizza was burnt and very very small for the price. There was wilted arugula on both the pasta and the pizza. The noodles are very expensive for the quality and the small portion. The Aperol Sprizz at the next table was very light and with very little Aperol. We also noticed that guests were leaving food back. Ok for a stopover with cyclists. Not recommended for more. We will no longer visit this location.

Nice ambience, nice service. Had 2x Club Mate for 3.60 per 0.2 L - really expensive considering that you get more than 2 glasses out of one bottle of Mate. Pizza with Gorgonzola and ham - wasn't really convincing. Yes, a lot of ham but no Gorgonzola taste. All in all.....can be expanded

A wonderful place to stay and eat.

Well attended today for MAY 1st, but not really full. You wait 50 minutes for 2 iced coffees and a cup of coffee. When you ask, you get the answer that you should go somewhere else. That's the very last thing. We then took up the offer and left after 60 minutes without the coffee coming. Incidentally, other guests left who had waited forever to take their orders. In addition, the gentleman with glasses at the tap was friendly, *unfriendly* and snotty. I think hospitality is something else!!!!

Yesterday I was in the Red House for the first, but also for the last, time. The boss personally greeted him (the waitress said that it was the boss) with the words "There is no self-service here, find a seat outside!" After we found a seat, we waited 15 minutes until we were spoken to for the first time, and another 15 minutes passed until the drinks came. The disputes among the staff about who was responsible for which area and whether the area where we were sitting was even served was loudly discussed in front of the guests. I owe the fact that I got my food to shouting across the entire seating area: "Who's got the pizza here?" And honestly, €5.70 for a 0.4l cola? I don't even pay that in the city center. I am sure that many guests are happy to be able to sit and eat and drink, but very few guests will feel a feel-good atmosphere or even the desire to be a guest in the Red House again.

As in previous reviews, I too have to rate it mostly negatively! Unfortunately, the potential of the location and its location is not used. The environment is not well maintained, the tables and parasols are unclean and not comfortable. The staff, who are apparently unfamiliar with the basics of gastronomy and seem totally overworked, should better look for another job. And the highlight is the food. Waited forever, taste well and, as with everything, price-performance in an absolute misunderstanding! Conclusion: Never again!!!

Don't! Waiting time to place an order: >30 minutes. Waiting time for drinks: + approx. 30 minutes, but then only half comes. Food: cold bratwurst and charred pizza. Toilets: light not working, paper all over, sink flooded. Service: 2 completely overwhelmed waitresses (I felt really sorry) who had to endure incredibly unfriendly comments from the boss. It's a shame about the beautiful place...

The location would be ideal for a drink in the evening sun...the view over the lake with a cool drink...unfortunately the view is blocked by a wooden wall, everything has now been concreted over and up Allotment garden level. The girls in service are obviously afraid of the owner; it's just not a pleasant place anymore. Opposite on the bank you can sit relaxed on the lawn or in a deck chair and enjoy the chilled out music.

So... given that it's only March and a lot of things are still closed at all the lakes in the area, we were very happy to get something to eat and drink... nice atmosphere, nice service, although not necessarily easy to communicate with! The food was... well, I had a pizza that was freshly prepared, not frozen, great! My companion had a chicken schnitzel with fries, the world looked different, both frozen goods and well not that great...

I don't know what kind of boss is who lets his one employee work alone under that stress. Therefore 1 star. Because most bosses only think about money rather than employees and customers.

Nice place by the lake with potential 👍 I like this: The location directly on Lake Kulkwitz is beautiful and offers a great view. The outdoor terrace is inviting and invites you to linger. The staff was friendly and tried hard. 🤔 This could be improved: The menu could be a little more varied. The prices are a bit high for what is offered. The cleanliness in the sanitary area could be improved. 📌 Conclusion: The Red House on Lake Kulkwitz is a beautiful place with a lot of potential. The location and the view are really great. However, there is still room for improvement in the menu, prices and cleanliness. Overall, a visit is definitely recommended, especially if you want to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere by the lake. 😊

Despite the opening times stated on Google and on the homepage, the restaurant was...

Today, we walked around the Kulki in glorious sunshine in a good mood. To finish off, we wanted to treat ourselves to a coffee in the "Red House" outdoor seating area. The prices there are completely exorbitant. A 0.3-liter paper cup of coffee costs €5.80, and a 0.2-liter paper cup of fruit tea (single tea bag) costs €3.30. The highlight, however, was the waffle (€4) – small and microwaved, so it was hard. It also came with a homeopathic amount of applesauce. I politely pointed out to the waitress that the waffle was hard – no reaction or apology. Conclusion: My good mood was gone.

We were there today because, according to Google, it's open until 9 p.m.! Well, before you specify closing times, you should open first. A 2-euro parking fee on your back, thanks for that.

The waitress was all alone but she was so hard-working and really ran the place. She prepared food and drinks and served very friendly! All attention! Hopefully the boss knows what a piece of gold he has.

I've only heard negative things about the service in the red house. A few weeks ago I was able to see for myself that the service is even worse than is told! Unfriendly. Definitive. Picked up. Expensive. A running shed that calls itself a restaurant... Food can only be eaten on site. So if you want to eat a pizza, you MUST first put on your shoes, pants and t-shirt in the shade at 38° degrees and only then can you place your order. Garden overheated despite sun protection because the sun is shining all day and there is no breeze around it because of the privacy protection.. Preparation takes forever! The pizza must be consumed on site. #shakehead French fries, fish rolls, bock and bratwurst are excluded. You can order things to take away. However, the prices are a bit cheeky. You feel uncomfortable here and determined by others

First something positive: the restaurant is very well located and (if someone were to prune the greenery) would have a great view of the Kulki. Now unfortunately the negative: although the restaurant was almost empty, we had to wait almost 10 minutes for 2 drinks. Not bad, but weird. We ordered a pizza and a plate of pasta and this is where I almost lost my faith. The pizza looked like it had been made by a 12 year old after watching a YouTube tutorial on how to make pizza “quick and easy” at home. In addition, the base was only half cooked and full of raw flour, so after one bite your mouth is full of flour. My friend's pasta was also a joke... a consistency like it was cooked 3 days ago and now stored in the fridge. The spaghetti was also cut into small pieces (which I just don't understand at this point) and totally peppered. Apparently they poured a nice handful of pepper over it instead of the parmesan. Since we were able to simply return the food after my complaint on site and didn't have to pay for it, I didn't actually want to write a review; But when the waitress, after taking the food away, instead of apologizing, simply slapped us the drinks bill like a petulant child, I wanted to warn future visitors about this platform. All in all: a shame about the beautiful restaurant.

The plum cake and coffee taste really good. The restaurant is well attended and invites you to linger. I can only recommend the Red House.

Beautiful location, nice industrial romance with a view of Lake Kulwitz. Unfortunately the service was a disaster. You wait forever for service and we were forgotten/overlooked several times.

Waited two hours for food and got nothing. Left hungry. On a nice day at the beach you actually have much better things to do than sit at a table and wait.

Waiting tables is really the easiest job in the world, but people here are too stupid even for that. After 40 minutes without drinks or food we left...

This restaurant was a really good address before the current operator. Now you shouldn't go there anymore. Food and drink completely overpriced. Bathers are only allowed to enter if they are dressed according to etiquette, so by that I mean it should only be a scoop of ice cream. So in my experience, I continue to avoid this location. It's really the worst on Lake Kulkwitz.

Yesterday we wanted to get ice cream and something to eat in this restaurant, we stood in line at the counter for a quarter of an hour and were ignored, no "good day", no "please wait a moment, it's about to start!" There wasn't much going on, a maximum of 3 tables on the terrace were occupied. So we left without being served.

Eine Empfehlung definitiv wert! Schön gelegenes Restaurant mit toller aussicht auf den kulkwitzersee ein Traum! Junge Dame im service sehr Nett! Sie hat uns beraten und uns Empfehlungen für das es gemacht da wir uns nicht entscheiden konnten… Hatten das Gefühl das sie denn beruf lebt. Das essen war der Hammer!!! Frische und Selbstgemachte Pizza ein traum. Ein großes dankeschön für diesen unvergesslichen Mittag!

I was served warm beer on a warm summer day. Only after complaining did I receive the information that the cooling system wasn't working... the beer from the fridge was significantly better. the food was also delicious 👍

Absurd waiting times and absurd prices.

I ate here with my wife on Monday and today and I was thrilled. Despite a bit of stress (on both days), the waitress remained focused and approached the guests in a very friendly and energetic manner. On Monday we ordered the tagliatelle with smoked salmon and before passing on the order she explained how the dish was constructed... that really impressed me and my wife because not everyone is so enthusiastic about this job and has such a positive attitude! ! My fullest respect to the waitress for doing this at such a young age, something you don't see that often anymore! Of course, my respect also goes to the kitchen for keeping a cool head despite many orders! Would love to come back and recommend it to everyone!!! :)

Probably the most expensive restaurant on Lake Kulkwitz!? Saskia Lidl mineral water 0.4l for 4.5€ that's cheeky! Very long waiting times even though the restaurant was not well attended. This is definitely better!

Am Kulwitzer See im Bester Lage. Es gibt viel für den Magen auch zum Mitnehmen. Wir hatten eine Bockwurst (3,50€), leider nur wenig warm. Eine Gartenlimo...0,4l für 4€. Bedienung mittelmäßig freundlich. Die Lage macht es für Gäste die vor Ort essen, wieder attraktiv.

Went there twice in one day, once for ice cream, that was OK and went quickly. We wanted to eat pizza there in the evening. At 7:38 p.m. we were told drinks yes, food no, as the kitchen would close at 8 p.m. Then you cannot specify 9:00 p.m. as the opening time. Then after a drink you leave again with an empty stomach. It's a real shame, as the guests are unlikely to come back.

Die Lage ist gut ! Der Chef ein "Macho" und die Bedienung rennt und rennt und schafft es fast nicht. Essen lange Wartezeit und es schmeckt ja geht so. Die Preise dafür zu hoch, Pizza zu klein. Wir kommen nicht mehr dort hin. Schade für die schöne Lage 😉

It's a shame about the beautiful restaurant, the staff is simply overwhelmed, it seems as if they have no experience in catering. Hardly any people there, but it still takes a long time before you get served. We just wanted ice cream and were ignored and then sent from one colleague to another in a bad mood.

Rarely have we seen such demotivated staff, but with the boss standing in the restaurant screaming, it's no wonder. At 1 p.m. half of the terrace was still closed, no cutlery set or menu. Some cards were laminated, others were completely wrinkled and unsightly from the rain. The arugula on the pizza was yellow and hadn't been fresh for a long time. Unfortunately, my salad was no different. The complaint was dismissed, no apology or anything. On the contrary, you had the feeling that no one cared. It's a shame, but unfortunately not everyone can do gastronomy. Just the location and a cool house are not enough these days. We definitely won't be coming back.

It was a mistake to come here. Drinking coffee with my two companions was difficult. A cup of coffee (large) 5.10 euros. Cake prices So la, la. We won't come here again.

Very nice location with friendly staff. Prices are reasonable and you have a beautiful view of the lake. There is delicious scoop ice cream!

Service disaster. Overwhelmed. Makes an unclean impression. Prices okay. Fish sandwiches are served fresh with good loaded rolls but unimaginative. There is a waiting time of half an hour.

Unfortunately the service was disappointing. After an hour of waiting and after asking, we finally got our food. It was already cold, but still delicious. But I also noticed that several other customers didn't have so much patience and asked for their money back. A little tip for the staff: introduce numbered pieces of paper. You often walked around aimlessly without asking who would get the food you ordered and carelessly let it get even colder on the counter.

We were there outside of the session to actually just drink a latte, which according to the staff wasn't available. We then decided on a normal coffee. A few minutes later a couple came out with a latte. I found it a bit bold. Otherwise nice place...

nice ambience, sunny patio with a great view. The staff quite friendly. The young lady seemed to be running the place. Cash register, service and operation. Thanks to their help, our food came to the table fairly quickly.

Since I noticed that the staff was very busy and was only carrying food out and back in, I decided on a bockwurst, which really doesn't take any work. After waiting patiently for a quarter of an hour, I was informed that there was no more food, that something had to be prepared in the kitchen and that the kitchen had just been closed. That was 1:45 p.m. on a Sunday. The website advertises food and drinks during opening hours. I don't think it's particularly customer-friendly to make customers wait unnecessarily.

Basically a nice location. But even on a cool day with few customers, you are obviously overwhelmed. And the promised cherries 🍒 with the waffles (which were really good) there were raspberries 🤷🏻‍♀️
