Rosenrot in Köln

Unfortunately, we were very dissatisfied with our visit. In my personal experience, we felt rushed. Even before we had finished our drinks, we were asked to pay because, supposedly, the next group was about to arrive. This was especially disappointing, as we had really been looking forward to the restaurant and had driven two hours from Frankfurt to Cologne. The service also left a poor impression. The waitress seemed unfriendly, inattentive, and generally quite overwhelmed. This made the atmosphere even more unpleasant. Overall, it was a disappointing experience, and we wouldn't return.

Rosenrot is beautifully located on a side street off Neusserstraße in Nippes, and it's also very cozy to sit outside. The food is well-prepared and tasty, and the portions are quite large. The service was friendly, but a bit slow, as was the kitchen; I waited about an hour for a salad. Lovely place for relaxed people!

A varied breakfast offering, with generous portions of scrambled eggs. The Zwickel in an iced jug is highly recommended.

Breakfast and other meals are always good. Prices are reasonable. Very friendly service. Good wines, changing exhibitions. Weekly menus offer variety! Always worth a visit!

The Food was excellent The Service was pretty good The Woman you pay at the bar was rude I had the pasta with bacon and leek, and it was magnificent! The only service issue was we asked for more water but didn’t get it till our meal was done. In fairness our waitress looked like she was the only person actually working. Then we come to the cranky and useless blonde woman who barely lifted a finger, criticized us for trying to pay with a credit card, aggressively put the machine back down after she had to reset it and then complained that there was no tip included. Maybe, just maybe we left it on the table since the menu clearly states only cash tips. Due to her attitude no tip was left. Blondie needs to learn some manners and customer service.

My wife and I stayed nearby so headed over for dinner in the evening. It was busy but the service was good. A young lady translated for us. We shared the three meat plate and had some wine and a beer. Paid by credit card and nothing was said. Two nights later I want there with our traveling companions. Our lady friend was refused to pay by CC. A different woman than previous complained about taxes on credit cards so okay fine I got that. I used my debit card but got a rough look. When done she asked why no tip for them? I was under the impression that tips could only be made in cash and what was to say I hadn't already left a cash tip at the table which I item do. I'll pay with credit but leave the tip in cash. Because of the attitude no tip was left unfortunately for the young server who was doing the lion share of the work. Be kind, courteous and mindful of the customer. It's easy to turn them off in an instant.

We are from Canada, and came for dinner. The 3 meat meal was delicious. The sauce was complimentary to the meats. My husband and I shared the plate, and it was more than enough. Their Riesling is smooth, and easy drinking, and, compliments the meal. We will be back while we are here. Mmm, thanks.

Very nice café-restaurant, good service, delicious menu and, above all, a very good breakfast!

It's hard to recommend this place because the service is very unfriendly. Unfortunately, friends confirmed that they've had this experience several times before. The food was delicious! The outdoor seating is very nice :)

Very rude service, slamming your food on the table and not wanting an old dog (2 kg) lying on the faded cushions outside. The lady acts like it's her own restaurant. She even looks stupid when you don't tip for the poor service.

NOT recommended for singles: you sit for a very long time until someone even comes, it takes over 15 minutes to prepare a latte 🤦‍♂️ and my breakfast order was simply forgotten to be booked... so after waiting for over an hour nothing came - simply impossible... I had to pay for the coffee, of course.

A very cozy cafe in the heart of Nippes. Very quiet inside and out. The breakfast is very plentiful, with something for everyone. The value for money is absolutely excellent.

Highly recommended! Delicious, unique food and a diverse drinks menu. Prices are fair and the portions are filling! We'll be back :)

It's really good to sit and eat here.

Every now and then we are in rose red. However, it has been there on Mother's Day for about 4-5 years. We liked the staff and the food there. I especially like the Strammen Max because the bread is deliciously toasted in the pan. Today everyone seemed to be either overworked or weather-sensitive. The bread was not toasted but full of fat from the egg. One of our orders for Annett's breakfast was supposed to be without ham, but instead with brie. Both were omitted. When we cleared the table a bit before the food came because we noticed that everyone was a bit overloaded and brought a few cups into the shop, we were shouted at. What is that about, why are we bringing the cups in? We made reservations at 1015 and didn't get until around 1130/1200. Unfortunately that was our last visit… What a shame!

I have been a guest there since the Rosenrot opened. When I still lived in Cologne I was there every day, and then every now and then. I was often amazed at what the rose red had become. My last visit was definitely my last. The owner ignored me after I asked - probably impudently - after a long wait whether we could order something. All the tables around us were served, but we weren't. The employees were probably also instructed, because one shook her head sadly and immediately assured herself that the boss hadn't seen it when I asked if we could order something from her. The staff was barked at by the boss, so we were even better off with her ignorance. After an hour we left. I'm not a supplicant in a restaurant and I don't have to put up with such subterranean behavior from the boss. You should not support your dealings with guests and employees with your money. Dear employees: The catering industry is desperately looking for staff - you don't have to be treated like this either!

I met Rosenrot at a very delicious breakfast. As already mentioned, I found the “Schneeweisschen” breakfast to be very tasty and filling. Any special requests can be addressed here. The staff was also very friendly and accommodating. I find the furnishings tasteful and the seating comfortable. I'd love to come back there.

Nice restaurant on the corner. Were here for breakfast. Selection is ok, unfortunately the cappuccino was from the machine. There is seating outside, but there is no sun here before midday (in March).

As part of a culinary city tour through Nippes, we were able to try a very tasty soup and of course drink an equally delicious Kölsch. Nice hosts and cozy atmosphere.

Nice restaurant in the middle of Nippes, reasonable prices. In summer you can sit outside. Parking is of course a problem, the best way is to take public transport to Florastr.

We only drank coffee and tea there. Busy, lots of people there for breakfast, friendly staff, food looked wonderful and inviting, but we came from breakfast at home...

The four of us spent a wonderful weekend in Cologne. We started at Rosenrot for breakfast. The Rosenrot is a real insider tip for guests who prefer a cozy restaurant close to the city. The selection on the menu is varied, there is something for every taste. The service is extremely nice and accommodating. The breakfast was very, very rich, extremely tasty and prepared with a lot of love. The prices are absolutely right! I can highly recommend the restaurant....with a bit of luck🍀 you will be served personally by the operator (Annett)....you will quickly notice that this restaurant is her lifeblood💕. We would love to come back to Annett, to Rosenrot 🥰.

Pleasant atmosphere, friendly service

I have been there 4 times in the last 2 years. A positive surprise every time. If something on the menu sounds average and ordinary, what ends up on the table is a dish that is perfectly presented, seasoned to the point, with a hint of fantasy - always perfect. The menu changes regularly, so you'll be surprised every time.

The selection on the menu is minimal and the prices are anything but justified. The food was ok but definitely not what you would expect for such prices. What broke the camel's back, however, was the service - probably the boss herself. Her manner was unfriendly from the start, almost dismissive, as if every guest was a burden. I now understand why so many other reviews criticize this very point. After I paid with a card, she called after me: “I can only accept tips in cash.” That was really the lowest point. Instead of talking about tips, maybe you should work on your behavior and service first. Anyone who treats their guests like this doesn't deserve tips or the guests. All I can say is: If you value a pleasant atmosphere and respectful service, you should give this place a wide berth.

We first went to Rosenrot with a tour from Eat the World. We received a very friendly welcome and immediately ordered a table for 5 people after the tour. That worked too. But the fact that we ordered a complete menu after the tour was not well received by the NEW waitress. But all in all we were satisfied. We'll be back under different conditions.

We had breakfast there. The service is very good and the staff is always friendly. The atmosphere inside and outside is very pleasant. I can only recommend the baguette with scrambled eggs. A breakfast at Rosenrot is highly recommended.

I have been a regular customer for over ten years and am always completely thrilled. The food is of the highest quality and the friendly perfection of the team cannot be surpassed. I've "dragged" everyone around me here so far and everyone is thrilled. ALWAYS worth a visit!!

Nos detuvimos aquí para tomar unas copas con un amigo. super amable y nos hizo muy cómodo. Totalmente atento y súper interactivo, completamente feliz de hablar con nosotros en inglés, lo que nos hizo sentir aún más bienvenidos y como resultado hemos decidido volver para el brunch.

When I treat myself to a “go out,” I like things nice, tasty and peaceful around me. It's delicious, the waitresses were very nice, despite the extreme, oppressive heat. But the nagging lady - boss? - who came along ruined my wonderful experience. When I'm a guest, I don't want to have to hear her shaming her staff. Public shaming is out. It's amazing what the two waitresses put up with. I would have gone. If this is the usual tone in the catering industry, I'm not at all surprised by the lack of staff. I'd rather go back to the "Haus am See". It's more peaceful there.

We always come here because it is very good value for money and there is plenty of space both inside and outside in the sun. Very good: breakfast or brunch menu until early afternoon, tasty, affordable. The service is mixed, unfortunately very dependent on the operation. Mostly rather short, sometimes absent-minded, recently there was a new, very nice one. Various small cards, something for everyone. There are high chairs for small children and something for children to paint/play with.

I'm not entirely sure whether a cappuccino is part of "food". What's certain is that the service is very, very nice and a cappuccino that doesn't cost the earth but is excellent.

The experience in this place was subterranean in a way that I cannot describe. The cruelest thing was the incompetent employees of the restaurant who didn't have the ability to explain to you what they wanted from you. If you want people to take money out of your pocket for poor service and unsympathetic employees, I can only recommend the store.

Wir waren zu mehreren Personen am Abend dort. Obwohl nicht viel los war, musste man immer mal wieder auf die Bedienung warten. Der Hälfte unserer Freunde hatte das Essen leider gar nicht geschmeckt. Unangenehmer Moment: der abwertende Blick der Bedienung beim Bezahlen, weil das Trinkgeld offensichtlich nicht als angemessen empfunden wurde. Ein Dank blieb dann ebenso aus. Schade, somit leider keine Empfehlung.

Zum Advents Sonntag mit Familie zauberhafte französische Ente von höchster Kochkunst genossen, übrigens der Mann in der Küche könnte als Nachfolger von Paul Bocuse durchgehen, tres chic merci

Ich war nicht zum ersten Mal im Rosenrot. Aber diesmal war es besonders unangenehm. Um 15Uhr sassen draußen ein paar Gäste und auch ich wollte noch einen Sonnenplatz wählen. Leider waren 3 große Tische noch komplett abgeschlossen ( mit diesen Stahlbändern um die Stühle und Tische) Die Bedienung zauderte mit dem aufschließen und deutete an, dass ich mich doch an die Ecke auf einen abgeschlossenen Stuhl setzen solle. Ich bestand aber auf das aufschließen, um mich ordentlich hinsetzen zu können. Während ich das mit ihr verhandeln musste, kam ein Paar, welches sich auch dort platzieren wollte und die Bedienung fing das diskutieren an. Sie würden schließlich um 17 Uhr schließen und es dauerte gefühlt eine Ewigkeit bis sie mal den Tisch für das Paar aufschloss. Ich setzte mich derweil auf einen verlassenen Platz von vorherigen Gästen. Es dauerte wieder eine Ewigkeit, bis sie mal mit der Bestellung um die Ecke kam. Meine Bestellung kam, aber es wurde eine Zutat völlig vergessen und es wurde auch vergessen, dass ich doch bitte gleich zahlen möchte. Wer kam nicht? Richtig. Also müsste ich zur Bedienung und diese darauf aufmerksam machen. Dazu wollte Sie mir den Betrag des Konsumierten mit der Extra Zutat berechnen. Ich teilte ihr höflich mit, dass auch dieses vergessen worden sei. Fazit: ich habe dies so ähnlich schon einige Male dort erlebt, dass man als Gast nicht wirklich willkommen ist und man das Gefühl bekommt, das man irgendwie lästig ist. Ich finde, das geht gar nicht!

Ich wurde in diesem Restaurant als Frau (28 J.) von drei Männern belästigt und bedroht. Die Männer wurden, obwohl eine Angestellte (oder Besitzerin?) sowie viele andere Gäste alles mitbekommen haben und sogar bestätigten ("Du provozierst schon den ganzen Abend"), nicht des Ladens verwiesen. Wir sind dann gegangen. Ich würde hier nicht wieder einkehren.

Sehr freundlich , schnelle Bediehnung, Stammer Max mega lecker. Gut besucht. Und das Schweinerückensteak vom Eifelschwein soooo Lecker. Kann man einfach nur weiterempfehlen 👍👍👍 Und wieder mal total begeistert. Preislich wie Portionsmässig sowie geschmacklich 1a 👍🤗

Am Sonntag zum Brunch. Sehr laut, Unterhaltung am Tisch schwierig. Bis das Frühstück für 6 Personen auf dem Tisch steht dauert es über eine halbe Stunde. Das Essen ist gut und lecker.

Frühstück, hat zwar Nutella und Honig vergessen aber direkt gebracht. War sehr lecker 😋

Sehr legere! Perfekt für einen kurzen Zwischenstopp. Das bayrische Bier von Fass ist weltklasse. Strammer Max, Service sowie Kaffee sind top.

Отличное место, где можно поесть и выпить, вкусная еда и дружелюбный персонал. Ничего не бывает слишком много. Мы выпили и вкусно пообедали здесь и будем возвращаться каждый раз, когда приедем сюда. Спасибо Уве и его сотрудникам. Toller Ort zum Essen und Trinken, leckeres Essen und freundliches Personal. Nichts ist zu viel. Wir haben hier etwas getrunken und ein köstliches Mittagessen gegessen und werden jedes Mal wiederkommen, wenn wir hierher kommen. Danke an Uwe und seine Mitarbeiter.

Das Essen war kaum gewürzt, die Bedienung unmotiviert. Man wurde dumm angesehen, weil man mit Karte zahlen wollte. Bei der Karte wurde die Karte aus der Hand genommen und recht hart in den Kartenleser geschoben(mehrmals) als fragte ob ich es machen könne, wurde es ignoriert. Schade, früher sind gebe dahin gegangen. Wir waren sehr enttäuscht.

Ambiente nett - Bedienung u Service sehr freundlich. Frühstück schlicht … (etwas weniger auf dem Teller und dafür bessere Qualität von Käse und Eiern) Ein NoGo von Plastikverpackung sollte inzwischen bei allen angekommen sein/kl Schälchen mit guter Marmelade Honig o Nutella … sind umweltfreundlicher und sehen ansprechender aus als Plastikmüll !

Das Rosenrot sehr atmosphärisch zwischen Kirche, Kulturzentrum und Kastanie (ist es eine? Keine Ahnung: großer schattenspendender Baum!).Um auf einen Kaffee oder eine Limonade eine Weile die Zeit zu vergessen und dem Nippeser Treiben zuzusehen, ist wunderbar. ABER das Frühstück ist schlecht. Im Joghurt warem vornehmlich (mehlige) Äpfel, das Müsli mit 1000 Rosinen und amderem Trocken"obst" schmeckte fad. Das Rührei hatte H-Milch-Taste und war insgesamt blass und langweilig. Das Baguette künstigste Industrieware.

Sehr schönes Café in einer ruhigen, dennoch sehr zentralen Lage von Nippes. Ich gehe gerne hin.

Gegessen habe ich hier noch nie, für einen Drink im Vorbeigehen ist das Rosenrot dagegen immer gut, vor allem wenn man draußen sitzt. Die Bedienungen könnten manchmal etwas aufmerksamer sein, manchmal dauert der Nachschub doch recht lange. Optimistische 4 Punkte.
