ROQQA Steakhouse Restaurant & Cafe in Duisburg

Unfortunately a pure disappointment when it comes to service. Since the portions were large, we asked for our food to be packed. The “shells” were then placed in front of us to transport and we were told that we would pack them ourselves. So the three of us sat at the table and scraped the leftover food off our plates in the middle of the restaurant. When we said: this is the first time that we have to pack our own food, we replied that other restaurants don't even offer packing. Apart from the disastrous hospitality, it is more than embarrassing to be handling plastic plates among the other guests. Tea and other things weren't offered anyway. It is definitely the last time in this restaurant, and I will also advise against this restaurant from now on.

Employees unfriendly. Even though you made a reservation several weeks in advance, you suddenly can't find the reservation. I asked two days in advance whether my reservation still existed. I was told on the phone that it still existed. In the end we still got a table but it was very unprofessional. When we got our food, we were asked whether we could change our seats as a larger group of people would be coming. The waiter/employee spoke to us wearing a Nike jogging suit, which also didn't come across as professional. In the end we were forced to leave our place. We decided to pay and leave. It's a shame for such a shop. Maybe the staff should be better trained to treat guests more politely. For us it was the first and last visit to this store.

The food was okay, but there was no time to enjoy it in peace. As soon as we sat down, we noticed how other guests were constantly being asked to move around. After our order came and we were still eating, we were asked whether we could move, despite having made a reservation in advance. A reservation doesn't seem to do much good. Being interrupted while eating and being expected to sit back and forth with your plate is not acceptable at all.

The best Turkish restaurant I have eaten in so far. Everything is just right there. The food is plentiful and very tasty. The service is great. Everyone is friendly, polite, attentive and very accommodating. The ambience should also be mentioned. Everything was beautifully done and very clean. Unfortunately, last time we had to wait a long time for a meal (there were five of us and everyone got it except for one) and he had to wait another 10-15 minutes for his meal but got a salad as compensation. Therefore, you can cope with it for once. But it shouldn't happen anymore.

I am the son of a Turkish gastro family business called Türkiye pazarı on Händelstr. In Cologne. I grew up in this restaurant and learned what quality, taste and service mean. The Roqqa Steakhouse is highly recommended in all of these respects. In my 34 years of life, the steakhouse belongs in first place. We come here with family and friends especially from Cologne.

Unfortunately, the breakfast has deteriorated significantly compared to before. The taste we loved so much is no longer the same. Our group has come here regularly in the past, but given this disappointing change we are unlikely to return in the future. The main dishes such as chicken soup, rice and the starters have also lost quality and unfortunately no longer meet the previous standard. A really big disappointment.

A friend recommended Roqqa to me. We sat by the water on a wonderful Saturday evening and enjoyed the beautiful atmosphere there. We were obviously the only Germans in Roqqa. I didn't expect that. The service was unbeatable in terms of friendliness and explained to us in a very understandable way why there is neither alcohol nor non-alcoholic beer in Roqqa. The only downer on a lovely evening: there was only one vegetarian main course, which was, however, very tasty. And the men's toilet in the water tower, although original, was a real disgrace.

We expected the service to be responsive. Nothing came of that either. Really a shame. The day after, I even had a stomach ache. Conclusion: Unfortunately, the outside is great, the inside is ugh…..

I had high expectations for my visit to this restaurant. Unfortunately I was very disappointed. Unfortunately, when I was served my dish, I discovered hair in my food. The only nice thing about the restaurant is the tower.

I ordered STROGANOFF BONFILE (No. 76), food was good until I bit on a plastic part the size of a thumbnail. Sharp-edged and really dangerous. Asked the waiter to explain, but all he could say was "Hmmm, I can't explain it." There was no "how can we make this up to you" or "it's on the house" nothing like that. Full payment was then required. Well, I can only hope that this doesn't happen to anyone else. I won't see the store again and I won't recommend it to anyone else.

The extremely positive reviews led us to Roqqa Duisburg yesterday. I was full of euphoria when I saw the place, how great it looked. The service was friendly. Unfortunately, my chicken skewer plate was anything but customer-friendly. I have never had such a plate of chicken skewers on the table (CHILD PORTION for an adult.) Salad is always served with a grill plate. There was neither a small nor a large one here! Ayran is by far the worst we have ever drunk. It almost tasted like water. My husband's grilled chicken in curry cream sauce included fine pieces of bone, which hung down his throat for free. Overpriced. We're happy to leave money, but the quality must also be there. Positive reviews are absolutely incomprehensible! In Duisburg we recommend the Ankara Restaurant. Everything is really great here. You don't have a waterfall, but you have a very nice boss, nice staff and good, tasty portions. You could also go to Aladdin, but first in Ankara.

So there wasn't much to complain about, but for me as a cook you should leave it alone with the side dishes for the steak 😉 Since only Halal meat is processed here, homemade Ayran and typical Turkish cuisine are available, the restaurant is very popular among Muslims. There is also a café with plenty of seating for large and small celebrations.

Great atmosphere and the location is really wonderful. We sat right by the water. There are good parking options directly at the location. The cheeseburger was delicious and my recommendation. However, the T-bone steak was disappointing, especially for the price. I ordered medium-well and it was completely cooked through and a bit tough. The waiter made an effort but it was just too busy so we couldn't order our dessert because it was getting late.

It was my first and last time there, you can expect a lot more for the prices, the pool needs to be cleaned and the tables outside were stained. Mixed grill plate was not worth the price! It tasted more cooked overnight than grilled. On the menu the steaks are listed by weight in grams. Does this refer to the steak served before or after cooking?? My steak was easily 1/3 missing. Bread was teeth-breaking and chewy. Never again, there is something better in every corner of Duisburg... and cheaper.

My experience at the 'Roqqa Steakhouse Restaurant' in Duisburg was unfortunately disappointing. The only positive thing about my visit was the homemade ayran, which was really unique and worth it. Overall, I thought the restaurant is over-hyped on social media. Everything seemed a bit chaotic, but I can still understand that now. It just takes a while for a new restaurant to get established. Unfortunately the promised patio heater didn't work. After a while we were given blankets. Despite the high number of guests, the waiting time was short and the service was very attentive, although unfortunately I was given the wrong drink. Unfortunately, the eggplants listed on the menu were missing from my friend's meal. My food was hot and very tasty. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and we will definitely come back again. I hope that the small errors will be ironed out and the quality of the food will remain good.

I recently ate at this restaurant and was unfortunately very disappointed with my experience. We ordered a medium steak, but it was served well done. When we complained that we were expecting a medium rare steak, we were simply told that we could still eat it. Another incident occurred when the waiter dropped a glass on the table, resulting in one person in our group cutting his hand. There was neither an apology nor an appropriate response to this incident. At the beginning of our visit, bread and dips were put on the table without asking. In many restaurants this is a free gesture, but here we were charged for it without prior information. We found this practice extremely irritating and unprofessional. Unfortunately, the entire service was consistently unfriendly and unaccommodating. Because of these negative experiences, I will not visit this restaurant again and cannot recommend it

Our conclusion: A chic ambience and expensive porcelain do not necessarily make for good food. Quality is different!

The waiters are overwhelmed and disorganized and have no idea what is missing. The kitchen also can't keep up with the orders. 5 loaves of bread for 15 people. Then wait again 🙄 and ask again. Unfortunately, the breakfast itself wasn't good either. Nutella and jam like in the hospital. Cheese from the cheapest and there was no sausage at all. Scrambled eggs totally dry. You have to pay extra for juices if you want to get some. But the worst was the Turkish tea. From the thermos. A shame. One pot for 15 people. There are better options. Breakfast costs €13.90. But it's not worth it. Not again.
