Great place for a relaxing break

The hotel has a somewhat dated feel overall, and its ambiance and clientele are geared more toward older guests. I wouldn't recommend it to younger travelers or families with children, as the offerings are clearly geared toward older guests. I would definitely like to highlight the service: everyone was incredibly friendly, competent, and very helpful. The food was also excellent – ​​there was a wide selection at breakfast, and everything was fresh, clean, and well-maintained. The sauna and swimming pool facilities were also very good and further enhanced the stay. Overall, a beautiful and clean hotel, particularly suitable for older guests who value peace, service, wellness, and good food.

A beautiful hotel with many floors, good staff, very quiet and competent

This hotel, built in 1988, is very well maintained and has retained its original charm. The wellness area is a great place to relax, with numerous saunas and a swimming pool. Dinner in the restaurant is highly recommended. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The guests tend to be a bit older. We actually came to this hotel specifically for the massages, but since these were outsourced and are no longer offered by the hotel itself, the massage therapist refused to come just for two guests.

Very quiet, not many leisure activities, which is what we were looking for. Very nice for hiking, with well-signposted routes for easy, moderate, and difficult routes. Easy tours are suitable for strollers and wheelchairs. However, the hotel is not wheelchair-accessible; you have to carry a stroller up several steps. The wellness area is decorated with beautiful windows and is bright and inviting. There's also a tea-making facility.

The hotel is located directly on the main road. There's not much to explore in the surrounding area. The hotel itself is rustically furnished. To reach the rooms, you have to climb several stairs before reaching an elevator. The building is very convoluted. The wellness area is good. The lady in the beauty area is a bit taciturn; a bit more communication would be appreciated for newcomers. The outdoor area is a bit short on loungers. The pool area is very overheated due to the whirlpool, and even using a broom to "activate" the whirlpool takes some getting used to. Overall, though, a nice hotel. The staff is nice and friendly.

We stayed at the Landhotel dörr in Bad Laasphe for two nights/three days and were really looking forward to some relaxation due to the description of a "wellness hotel" – unfortunately, we were disappointed. The wellness area was tiny, unkempt, and unhygienic. It smelled strongly of fish, and the pool area had an unpleasant foot odor – absolutely not what you'd expect from a wellness stay. Dirt was everywhere, no one cared about cleaning or infusions – there were no sauna infusions at all. For a hotel that advertises itself as a wellness destination, this was absolutely substandard. Staff: Most of the staff were friendly – except for one evening service employee (short hair) who served us several times and was very condescending and unfriendly. This significantly spoiled the overall impression. Food: Taste-wise, a 5/10 at best. It didn't seem freshly prepared and had more of a cafeteria feel. Definitely not worth the price we paid. Conclusion: For us, it was neither relaxing nor worth the price. The combination of unpleasant odors, poor hygiene in the wellness area, unfriendly service, and poor food means we cannot recommend the hotel.

I wouldn't recommend the property to our younger generation anymore! However, it's definitely worth recommending to older people looking for a bit of peace and quiet from everyday life!

Completely outdated, very low-ceilinged rooms. Hair in the sink—a strainer—and toothpaste from the previous guest on the porcelain surface. The steam sauna and aroma bath were either broken or out of service. Spa staff could not be found or were not present. The sauna bag provided by the hotel was disintegrating due to aging and could not be used. Some of the loungers in the spa area were in a state of disrepair and posed a safety risk. This is the result of investments not made over who knows how many years… That's why I'm surprised by the extremely high ratings in the recent reviews. So: not recommended! I wrote this review for my wife and her best friend. The stay was a birthday present.

Very, very beautiful all around.

This was our first time at a wellness hotel, or hotel in general. We didn't know what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised. The rooms were spacious and clean. The bathrooms were modern. We found the wellness area to be very large and clean. The evening meal was another highlight. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We felt really comfortable and, above all, taken care of over the weekend. We will definitely be back, both as guests in the hotel and occasionally as guests in the restaurant. Beautiful hotel where it's easy to get lost. Delicious food and friendly staff.

I was there with the company CG 3D-Druck&Service, and we had a great time. My only criticism was the breakfast, as the staff didn't pay attention to empty food and drinks, even though we pointed it out to them. One more thing about the bathroom: we had a bathtub with a shower head that couldn't be hung up, which could potentially be a problem. This should be clarified beforehand. But all in all, it was very good.

Rustically furnished hotel in a historic building. Friendly hotel service. The interior of the hotel is winding with many short flights of stairs, making it only partially suitable for people with walking difficulties. Unfortunately, the pool was out of service during our visit. The only place for guests in the town is the hotel for evening get-togethers. At 10:30 p.m., the staff wanted to close the hotel and no longer offer service. This is unacceptable for a 4-star hotel. After a brief negotiation, the remaining service staff served us until 11:15 p.m. Breakfast was good. The evening food on offer in the restaurant is down-to-earth. Starters and main courses are fresh and lovingly prepared. Prices are not exactly cheap. Communication with the friendly service in the restaurant was not easy.

The hotel has a rustic, rural decor; everything is clean and tidy. Unfortunately, it's not in Bad Laasphe, as stated in the address, but in Feudingen, a town 10 km away. "Yes, that always leads to confusion among guests," said the receptionist, but since it hasn't been changed, it's obviously intentional, because otherwise, guests might stay away. Annoying for us, as we would have preferred to stay in a slightly larger town, so we could, for example, take a stroll in the evening, eat ice cream, and shop. So we had to use the car for everything. The second annoyance upon arrival: the pool was broken. Well, that's nobody's fault, but the pool was also a key factor in our booking. We could have been reimbursed for the outdoor pool entry fee, but that wasn't possible (because of our dog). As a couple in our mid-50s, we already lowered the average age there considerably. Nevertheless, we found it comfortable and the breakfast was good. But there was, for example, a lack of fresh fruit. B. Cocoa was only available upon request; something "common" like Gouda was missing. The "fresh bakery rolls" advertised were half-baked and sometimes very soft. In general, we found the amenities somewhat meager for a 4-star hotel. There was no small coffee/tea bar in the room, no folder with information about the surrounding area, and no "Do Not Disturb" sign, which would have been very appropriate with a dog (who sometimes stays alone in the room). (One employee simply said, "I don't know where they all went"). We've found more thoughtful touches even in 3-star hotels, such as treats for the dog, chocolates for us, nice decorations... It's missing that certain something: someone who puts their heart and soul into what they do. The bed creaked loudly with every movement, and the pillows were too thin for us, so we asked for a pillow and a water glass in the room in the morning. Unfortunately, this was forgotten, but the very nice young man from the restaurant made it possible later in the evening. We looked at the wellness area but didn't use it; it was very large and impressive. As compensation for the broken pool, we received a voucher for an overnight stay with half board upon departure, which we found more than generous. We'll treat ourselves to another little break there. Thank you very much for that! Later, we discovered on our booking that we were supposed to receive a "welcome drink" and "freshly prepared smoothies" at breakfast. Unfortunately, neither of these was available. We also didn't receive the "extensive maps for walking the dog," but we got them ourselves. In summary, I'd say it's a nice hotel with room for improvement. Probably more suitable for older guests, although it's not wheelchair accessible. The staff were all nice and friendly.

Very nice hotel! Great rooms in a very cozy and quiet location. The only downside is that it's easy to get lost, even though the signs are fairly easy to navigate. 😆 Highly recommended. The breakfast wasn't too extensive, but the selection was still absolutely sufficient.

Those who like solitude and peace will love it. Unfortunately, there's nothing in the village. No beer garden, no café; you always have to drive. The hotel is quite dated and very dark throughout. The comfort room had a balcony and was large. But be careful, not all rooms have a balcony. Be sure to clarify your preferences with the hotel directly beforehand. It's not wheelchair accessible!

We spent four wonderful days at this wonderful romantic country hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed it and thought it was absolutely fantastic. The rooms, service, wellness area, and food were truly fantastic. There was nothing to complain about or moan about. We will definitely come back and recommend the hotel. I had two treatments: one in the Hammam and a full body massage. It was wonderfully relaxing, as was the Hammam. We had an absolutely fantastic time!

Quite a nice family hotel in the middle of nature. Silent neighborhood and quite clean / fresh air. Breakfast is quite with many options. Rooms are big and clean. Free Parking is abundantly available.

We treated ourselves to a wellness vacation. The hotel address might suggest that you're actually staying in the town of Bad Laasphe. However, this isn't the case. The hotel is located in the Feudingen district, opposite the train and bus stations. This doesn't detract from our relaxation. At night, even with the window open, our sleep isn't disturbed. The reception at reception was very warm. The path to our room (with a bay window) led us through very winding corridors, and we had to climb several steps. The room was spacious, clean, and had a small refrigerator. The Wi-Fi reception in the room was very poor. We (and other guests) had complained about this, but nothing could be done to remedy the situation. Apart from that, we were very impressed by the friendliness of the staff. The service staff were trained and very attentive and helpful. We booked half board and were impressed by the food, not just at dinner. We've rarely experienced such good food. TOP! A visit to the wellness area left nothing to be desired. The various saunas and the pool area had plenty of loungers, and everything was clean. We can also highly recommend a massage. The Romantik Landhotel Dörr near Bad Laasphe lives up to its name. Building units staggered up the slope form an ensemble that is pleasant to look at and full of peace. This leads to long walks in the hotel and requires full concentration on the way to the room, at least on the first day of your stay. There, however, and especially in the top rear area of ​​the building with the rooms from number 50 onwards, the guest is compensated by a wide, uninterrupted panoramic view of the hilly landscape from the balcony. And this from sunrise to sunset. Seating furniture is of course available. The wellness area of ​​the house is located in one of these building units, spread over three floors and it is truly the finest. Swimming pools, whirlpool, saunas, plunge pools, a grotto, a “golden” imperial bathtub invite you to linger. Stone loungers with either warm fabric or warm water cushion toppers and normal foam toppers are spread over three floors. Enough space for every requirement. The cuisine corresponded to the four-star hotel category in the morning and evening. At a rich breakfast buffet, among other things. With wonderfully crispy bacon and consistently fluffy scrambled eggs, nothing was left to be desired. The evening beef broth is rightly “very popular” with its delicately spicy meat flavor and round mouthfeel. The veal boiled beef, the Feudinger Küstchen and grilled pork fillet were solid and very tastefully seasoned, arranged on the plate and of a filling size. The service was great. Friendly, attentive and discreet, he was always there when needed. The restaurant manager, who was present briefly one evening, drew attention to himself with a heavy cloud of scent that settled on the palate and thus seriously impaired the enjoyment of the meal. Perfumed service staff are therefore a “no go” in the catering industry; Of course, this also applies to “perfume-loving” guests. All in all, a very satisfactory stay at the Romantik Landhotel Dörr. Our vacation at the Landhotel Doerr was again wonderful. We can't understand bad reviews "on the subject of food" at all!!!!!!! Everything always tastes incredibly good here... and we have never tasted anything from any Maggi bags etc!!!!!!! The food here is always guaranteed to be made from fresh ingredients. We've been coming here twice a year for 15 years now and we don't suffer from bad taste!!!!!!! The entire staff is super nice and our rooms are always nice and clean. We have a clear recommendation here :-)

March 2025...Landhotel Doerr is still the best hotel for us to unwind. We've been coming here for 15 years now and we look forward to it every time. We spontaneously booked a few days for two people for a nice break. The hotel itself is rurally located in a beautiful area. However, we had our problems. 1. When we arrived, we spontaneously booked a full-body massage for 60 minutes and a pampering program with skin treatment for you at reception. The massage was over after 45 minutes and instead of the pampering program, a massage was also listed here. It turned out that these applications only take place on weekends. Times and types of treatments are limited during the week. It was said the gentleman at reception was in his first week. I don't blame this, you have to ask yourself why no one is present who has any idea about the training. We therefore received 2 vouchers for a free drink and two vouchers for a meal 2. Room service: Room service only comes every two days. Apparently there was no cleaning. We both have long hair and one hair was left the same way after room service as before. Towels weren't all changed either. Round corners indicate a lack of care when vacuuming. The towel heater is also dusty. 3. The room: The room is old, very old. The inventory was definitely custom-made and adapted to the rooms many years ago. The bed is extremely uncomfortable. At night there was a humming noise in the wall, probably a heating valve, pipe aerator or who knows what. We couldn't sleep properly at all during the night and are looking forward to going home to recover from our vacation. In the bathroom there are chips on the vanity and the spotlights are hanging out of the ceiling a bit. It's not serious, but it's meaningful. 4. The wellness area: Overall really good. There are various saunas and baths in good condition, as well as a pool and a whirlpool. There is a power socket on every lounger. I wanted to charge my cell phone, but the socket didn't work. I then tried a few more, but it was the same everywhere. Another positive thing to mention is that there are free cold drinks in bottles for self-service. The atmosphere is really nice. There is a Kneipp pool in which smaller mosaic tiles are missing. 5. The Food: We had half board and there was a daily breakfast buffet with a small but sufficient selection of toppings. There is always a pot of coffee at the table, everything else has to be fetched separately. Fresh rolls and bread, as well as muesli, juices and fruit round off the breakfast. There is always a 3-course menu for dinner. You can choose between 3 different main courses. You won't find upscale cuisine here, sometimes I thought I recognized the taste of large instant companies. But it's nicely presented and definitely enough of the quantity. Everything was okay except for the diarrhea last evening

Never again! That was the last time we booked this. I really can't say anything against the people at the service and reception, but other employees here shouldn't be having loud conversations in the courtyard at 2:30 in the morning and then appropriately apologizing for it instead of giving an "ass licking" answer. Or you could subtly point out to guests at the clubhouse that this is actually a “wellness hotel” and not a bar for drinking and shouting in the courtyard. Our balcony was right on the inner courtyard and the outside door was regularly slammed until late at night. Finding someone else's hair in the bathroom is something that isn't normal either. It takes forever for the water to reach the right temperature when showering. You get burned quickly. In addition, the pool smells strongly of people and there are far too few loungers for all the guests here. It's like being on vacation in the morning at the pool, fighting for the best spot. We paid a lot for the vacation and could have invested the money much better. I really don't like doing this, but it's 2 a.m. and since I can't sleep anymore, one answer: I'm pissed!

Hospitality is still alive here. Whether from the hotel manager or the trainee, everyone was very friendly and helpful. We had booked at short notice for the weekend. We were warmly welcomed with a glass of champagne. The hotel was then explained to us. Since the hotel is a bit winding, which doesn't really bother us, we were even escorted to the room. We were able to really relax in the wellness area, which we didn't expect to be so big. Dinner was a pleasure. Thank you for the lovely time. We'll definitely come back.

Surprise succeeded. I wanted to surprise my partner with a wellness weekend. We were given very good advice over the phone as to which arrangement was the right one for the surprise. We were warmly welcomed upon arrival. There was even a glass of champagne. We even got a free upgrade from the hotel manager to a country house room. The room was beautifully decorated, matching our arrangement. The SPA area is a dream. In the evening we dined in the in-house restaurant. Although we hadn't booked a table and decided to do so spontaneously, we were warmly welcomed and seated in the restaurant. The food in the restaurant is a delight. The service and friendliness were excellent. In the evening the hotel manager even came through the restaurant and personally greeted all the guests and asked how they felt. Unfortunately, you don't see this hospitality from all the employees so often these days. Regardless of whether the employees are in room cleaning, at reception or in service, everyone is consistently friendly, helpful and personable. Our extra request for 2 pillows was immediately fulfilled. We had a lovely time and we'll be back. The next stay is already being planned.

The location of the hotel takes some getting used to, right on the street, and there are free parking spaces opposite. When we arrived we were not greeted, we were given a key. When we asked where our room was, we received “Lahnhaus” as the answer. To reach the Lahnhaus in question, you take the first elevator to the attic, then you have to walk what feels like a kilometer to the next elevator and then go back to the attic. It takes a really long time to get to the room. The room was very nice, we had wooden floors and a renovated bathroom. We explicitly stated this when booking, as there are probably much older rooms there. The TV is very small and unfortunately there is neither a kettle nor a coffee machine in the room. We almost never saw any staff during the entire stay. We would have liked to order something to eat from the restaurant or get information about sights in the area, but all we got was the answer that it wasn't possible at the moment because it was busy. The wellness area is spacious and beautiful, unfortunately the whirlpool was out of order. The ladder at the pool is very loose, so getting in and out is very wobbly. Here, too, you look in vain for someone who works in the hotel. The breakfast is okay, although a silverfish ran through one of the cereal bowls at the buffet. After that I no longer had any appetite. When the lady from the staff pointed this out, I only received a brief thank you. I really wonder who gave this hotel four stars. On the day of departure I had a massage appointment, but it was moved from 10:15 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. without comment. Overall really disappointing, no service at all. You can also stay at home. Regarding the hotel's comment: I didn't make fun of the employee, I just assumed that the part of the hotel was actually called Lahnhaus :-) But it's better to denounce myself than comment on the insects at breakfast.

We had a lovely time there. We really enjoyed the spa area in the rainy weather, which we unfortunately had, and the massages would be wonderful for relaxation (thanks to the nice lady there). The service was great and the food was excellent.

Very nice hotel with wellness and swimming pool, several saunas. Excellent food. We had a large but dark room with rustic oak. Unfortunately the mattress was sagging. But recommended. Anyone looking for peace and quiet is in good hands here.

Beautiful and surprisingly large hotel for the location, right opposite Feudingen train station. Nice large rooms with balconies. We chose half board because there isn't much of a choice of restaurants in the town anyway and got a delicious 4-course meal. The hotel has a very nice sauna area with a swimming pool, steam bath, bio sauna and Finnish sauna with an outdoor area. We arrived by bike and there was a bike garage.

The environment of the hotel is very nice, the rooms are clean and tidy, the food is delicious, it has a calm and peaceful ambiance..

We were there for a week. If I'm honest, I can't understand some of the reviews. You should also remember that you are served the way you appear. There was nothing to complain about in the room. It was cleaned every other day. I would have If I wanted to more often, I just had to say that. The staff, hotel and restaurant were great. The tea was free in the wellness area. It should be filled up more. But if you know that, you can take tea bags with you from breakfast. We'll be happy to come back.

Conveniently located near the train station. It was very quiet, probably because the room didn't face the street. Rooms/bathrooms are sufficiently large, nice and comfortable. However, without air conditioning on the upper floor it was almost unbearable. Breakfast was really good. We enjoyed dinner in terms of quality and quantity. The price was reasonable. Service was friendly. By the way, the marten tore the cables on our car...but the hotel can't help it!

This small hotel rightly has the word romance in its name. The rooms are very comfortably furnished and gave the impression of coming home. The cuisine is excellent, the choice for the three-course menu was varied. The staff was very concerned about the well-being of the guests without being intrusive. Unfortunately the management changed from July. I can only hope that work continues in the spirit of the outgoing director, who was great. Very close to the guest with the right amount of humor. I can only recommend the house, it was simply magical there.

Beautiful, romantic hotel for a couple. We were greeted with champagne and were even able to check in a little early. Our room was very spacious, quiet and the bathroom was recently renovated. The balcony offered enough space for 2 people. The spa area was really nice. There were 4 steam rooms/saunas, a pool, a hot tub, a large indoor lounge area and a few loungers outside. The loungers outside were in great demand when the weather was nice, even though there was no shade. The breakfast was good and sufficient. There is a large free parking lot across the street as well as a small bus and train station. We had a really nice time and we really liked the hotel. The breakfast selection could be a bit larger and more varied.

Despite the great wellness and excellent restaurant, a very bad experience! I am critical but never unreasonable, but here the customer is being fooled. The staff is downright unsympathetic (except for the gentleman at breakfast). And the room did not match the photos presented when booking, but not at all! It was a glorified (large) hall closet with a balcony door through which the only outside light came through and opened onto a 2 square meter area classified by the hotelier as a balcony. Where there could only be one chair. And where you looked out onto the neighbors' balcony. (See photos) There were two of us, so it was a bit of a change. There was also only 1 chair in the room itself. When I indicated that I thought this was a bad thing, in addition to bad excuses, I also had to deal with a receptionist who laughed at me. The facilities indicated when booking were also not available. There was no sofa and no seating in the room. Which was explicitly stated and was indeed present in all rooms in the photos that were presented when making the reservation. In short, not worthy of a four star hotel. And highly recommended. FOLLOW-UP: The hotelier thought it was necessary and smart to come up with just as bad excuses as his reception employee in his first (since deleted) response. I want to reply to him! The other room offered also did not have the sofa and seating as promised in the room facilities! But even worse, his housekeeping staff pointed out to us that the bed in the room offered as an alternative was bad! Which together was reason to reject the offer. What is unworthy of a four star hotel is the way in which the complaint was dealt with. Once again it's not what it seems!

Outdated hotel with a musty smelling room where, as a single person, I had a double room for which I had to pay €100 extra. The bed was double, but only one bed was covered, the other was empty, so uncomfortable. Showered four times with 1 towel, then housekeeping came. The manager was not happy with my previous comment that I had posted and came into the restaurant to get a story where he was standing and I was sitting. This is not an equal discussion so I have withdrawn myself from this situation and will not respond further. Annoying experience because the staff in the restaurant was super nice and the food was good for a hotel. The town itself is nothing and is not in Bad Laapsche itself as you might think according to the brochure. Not recommended and quite pricey for a mediocre experience.

Hotel along a main road with a maze and many stairs to the rooms. Very scary old elevator that makes a lot of noise. Rooms are dated, restaurant is very nicely decorated. Breakfast isn't much, I've had better ones and for less money. Long live traveling alone.....not always paying the top price to end up in the back somewhere.

A very nice hotel to relax. The staff is very friendly. The wellness area is strikingly beautiful, designed with great attention to detail. It is advisable to book massages when reserving your room. The dinner in the form of a menu is excellent, and the apple pie is highly recommended. In the case of food intolerances, all it takes is a single word to the staff and on the following days this was taken into account in all dishes without having to be pointed out. Very good! We affectionately named the hotel the “little labyrinth”. A few steps in the house have to be climbed until an elevator can be reached. This house is not particularly suitable for wheelchair users. The location is central, there is a small train station next to the hotel. In the house you don't notice any train traffic. A hike to Bad Laasphe to eat an ice cream there and then take the train back and get off directly in front of the hotel is very worthwhile. The castle in Bad Berleburg is also well worth seeing. Delicious cakes and coffee are available in the lovingly furnished Café Back in the Day. We felt very comfortable in the Landhaus Doerr!

Unplanned stranding here due to constant rain on a bike tour from the source of the Lahn. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and helped me with my wet things. After a snack and a pot of coffee, I was able to continue cycling to Marburg. I would be happy to come back sometime!

The wellness weekend The short stay (end of April) was fine. We were here to relax from everyday life. First impression, you first have to walk up the stairs with your luggage to get to reception and then to the elevator. The room was big enough, but the bed was unfortunately uncomfortable. The wellness area was rather small, but was fine. It was very warm in the relaxation area and you weren't allowed to open a window to get some air. Hydrojet (which was included in the offer) was out of service that day. The massage was good. The food in the restaurant was very tasty. The staff was nice.

Hello. If you want to enjoy friendliness, great service, clean rooms and very good food, this is the right place for you. The wellness area leaves nothing to be desired. Changes in orders (allergy sufferers) are taken into account in the restaurant. Parking spaces are free and there are enough available. The prices are in Hotel for food and drinks are okay. The boss is also convincing. He comes to the table during meals and always has kind words for his guests. We will most likely visit this hotel again.

Nice hotel with friendly staff, nice wellness area and very good food

An all-round successful relaxation and wellness holiday. If you just want to switch off, relax and go cycling or hiking, this is an ideal place. Room, room size, room facilities and cleanliness very good. Service/staff at reception, in the restaurant and in the wellness area were very good, helpful and friendly. Booking massages is easy and uncomplicated. Massage in itself outstanding. Wellness area well equipped. Pool, relaxation area and sauna area clean and good. Food and drink very tasty. Price/performance OK
