The food and service were excellent again today. Thank you. I had already tried a piece before posting the photo.

There were three of us eating there and we all ordered the same currywurst with fries and salad. It was so bad that we didn't finish it. In the evening we all vomited. The service was okay. It's definitely worth a visit for a health evening.

We are absolutely thrilled. We thoroughly enjoyed a baked potato with vegetables and a veggie baguette, both of which were incredibly delicious. The portions are enormous, varied, and beautifully presented. The service is incredibly friendly. We'll be back :-)

My cake was moldy, so I ordered an apple crumble cake instead. It was also completely soggy and old. The coffee was cold, but they did give me a hot one afterward, but that was the least I could do after the disappointment. 0/5 stars

I wanted to go for a drink on Saturday, August 23, 2025, around 3:00 PM, but my "hello" didn't get a response. A waitress at the bar, after a brief "yes," I ordered a double vodka and a gin and tonic, but again, no response. The lady continued with her work. After 10 minutes without any reaction from her and without a drink for myself, I left the bar. If you don't want it, you already have it.

It took some effort for us to return to Rix after the change of management, as we felt very comfortable in the old one. The new Rix, including the chef and the food, absolutely didn't impress us. The schnitzel was bland, flattened, and tasted stale. The currywurst sauce was watery and tasteless. No comparison to the old kitchen. Unfortunately, quantity over quality prevails here, with large portions for less money. The new decor and presentation seem dated and kitschy; before, it was rustic but authentic. We wouldn't go back and wouldn't recommend it. The positive aspect of the evening was the friendly service.

We gave it another try after being disappointed last time. Asparagus with schnitzel. The asparagus was very firm, the potatoes were good, the hollandaise was good but it seemed to be a ready-made sauce. The schnitzel...for a supposed "schnitzel paradise," it was pretty bad. Hard, seemed to have come from a deep fryer, and the taste was nothing special. If you're hungry, it's okay, but nothing to enjoy!

Okay in itself, but... often too few service staff (as the staff themselves say). The food is okay, but you can tell it's convenience food (frozen, industrial). Currently disappointing: creamed asparagus with meatballs – hardly any asparagus, less, small, extremely soft-boiled potatoes, okay meatballs, and everything drowned in ready-made hollandaise sauce. 🫤 "Cream sauce" means something else.

If you come from this area and know the owners, it's a nice place with atmosphere. And just try out good food with your lunch menu.

Went there for lunch today with a larger group. The service was unfortunately grumpy; there were no smiles. There were no glasses for the soft drinks. Some of my fries were still raw, and my neighbor's were rather black. The side salad was served without dressing. All in all, a lackluster place that's worth avoiding.

No recommendation for the breakfast buffet or brunch! The Sunday brunch was a big disappointment in terms of the buffet. There were only inferior baked rolls in too small a quantity, hardly any fresh fruit (only as decoration). Fresh leaf salads or raw vegetables - none. The promised desserts for brunch were completely missing. And the hot food was so hearty and heavy on meat + overcooked vegetables that I had no appetite for it. We've been here before for the theme evening "Scampi Fed Up" and it was very tasty. This time it should be horse roulade. And unfortunately I was very disappointed. The dumplings were finished products and not fully cooked, the horse roulade was not very tender and only lukewarm, although well filled. The red cabbage, a ready-made product, wasn't hot either. The schnitzel, hollandaise sauce and croquettes were OK. Unfortunately the fried eggs we ordered were forgotten by the service. The salad side dish, again - oh well. Too bad, not satisfied this time.

A restaurant where you can taste German delicacies, especially Schnitzel and Cordon Blau. The food was very tasty. The staff were very accommodating and the prices were very reasonable. I also really liked it because it was dog friendly. I recommend it wholeheartedly.

Ambience not nice at all. The table decorations are absolutely cheap. Ordered Café Crema and got cheap filter coffee. There was also the Metro coffee cream and sugar from the packaging. My friend and I were there last night. We asked for a table and the lady behind the counter told us that all tables were reserved. We politely asked if we could take two chairs and the question was answered in the negative. That's why we only get 1 star.

Good home cooking. From goose or duck with red cabbage and dumplings, to roulade or kale or the legendary schnitzel, you can find it here. Plus beer 🍺 and wheat on tap. It just tastes good. The service is good. Price and performance are right. Always my pleasure.

Excellent food and large portions. Since it's a bar there are more drinks than food, but everything was wonderful. I had the hollandaise schnitzel. It is advisable to make a reservation in advance, as there was a lot going on during our visit as there was also a football match being broadcast. We stayed for three hours and it was very comfortable. Gladly again!

After repeated ownership changes, I wanted to try the food again with a friend. So we wanted to try out the new owner and unfortunately we left hungry again.... Friday December 13th at 6:30 p.m. There were two people there in the evening, no sign of a closed company. Were referred by a waitress because 80 meals were about to be prepared. You would have to wait 1.5 hours for a table, if at all. We had another smoke outside, while a group of 6 and 4 people went home. If you remember, the Amouri next door was happy. Apparently there was also a small closed group of up to 45 people (the two rows of seats in front of the beer garden) sitting there. But if the store is overwhelmed by this, it should refer to closed society on the homepage and at the entrance that evening. Unfortunately, less than 1 star is not possible.

Unfortunately, the quality of the food has deteriorated extremely after the new owner took over. The delicious sauce for the currywurst tastes completely different and not at all like it used to be. Schnitzel came for barely with flat breading, unseasoned and a very poor sauce, compared to before. Unfortunately there is no comparison at all to the old card and the price-performance ratio. The service is, as usual, friendly and understanding for special requests, which is nice. After the takeover, the previously very cozy shop was now decorated with different placemats and candles, which is unfortunately completely inconsistent and unnecessary. We used to enjoy going there regularly, but we'll forget about that in the future, which is a shame.

I've been to Rix for lunch 6 times in the last two months (always different dishes) and have been very satisfied every time! Whether pancakes, currywurst, salad, baguette, fried potatoes: every dish is lovingly prepared and tastes super good! I wouldn't have thought that such delicious food would be served here, as the location looks a bit inconspicuous from the outside.

We went to brunch for the first time today and enjoyed the breakfast buffet. Everything was very well prepared and very tasty. Coffee, tea and juices, water included. When we wanted to pay shortly before half past eleven, we were told that there would be a lunch buffet shortly. Holla the forest fairy, we didn't know that and were very surprised that something was still served warm. Unfortunately, we were so full from breakfast that we had to come back again🤗😃 Cleanliness was great and the service was very attentive and super friendly. Many thanks to everyone who made it possible to enjoy a relaxing Sunday morning.

No star for nothing! For me, the ambience has nothing to do with a restaurant...but what's even worse is the atmosphere between the "boss" and the team...employees are constantly being shouted at and loudly reprimanded! It's more comfortable in my company cafeteria and the food is also much better. The boss drank a lot of beers and schnapps during our stay there while we, at least 6 people, were not served. The cordon bleu was burnt and out of the hairdresser, the salad was inedible and at an exorbitant price! ! After 4 visits like this they will never see me there again! There are enough and, above all, much better locations in Hanover!

The boss drank beer and schnapps all the time and eventually got drunk, but was in a better mood for it. I don't need that. I definitely won't come back. I was there the night before with a friend, Friday evening mind you, for a drink. Shortly after 9 p.m. the chairs were already put up in the parking lot. At first we thought it was already closed. This doesn't make a good impression on guests who enter the restaurant. You don't need to reserve a spot here. A majority of the tables were free even on a Saturday evening. To be honest, that doesn't surprise me at all.

So what we experienced today is not possible at all. Regardless of whether someone in the team has made a mistake, the biggest mistake is that a boss lets his bad mood out in front of the guests, not just once, but for half an hour. This has an impact on the mood of everyone who sees it and also notices it. We were about to leave straight away. It doesn't surprise me that the service overall is no longer great, even though the employee tried very hard. Honestly, I wouldn't want to work under a boss like that. And as guests we felt really uncomfortable.

Hello, I've known Rix for a while and was there again with my wife to eat. The food was also good, except for the schnitzel, which was a bit hard. The service was nice but overwhelmed. When the food came the waiter forgot the cutlery. He said I would bring you the cutlery immediately, but after 5 minutes it still wasn't there. So I got cutlery myself. When I wanted to pay, I spoke to the waitress 5 times and nothing happened. On the 6th time the waitress called out to a colleague “they want to pay”, which I didn’t like at all. The colleague who came was very nice and apologized a thousand times. What I'm trying to say is that the service needs improvement. Otherwise everything is okay. Thanks.

Were there again after a year with 7 people. The complete opposite of last year. It wasn't very crowded. Still had to wait over an hour for the food. The staff was nice but you should know what is being served on the plate. We also had to order twice because our order had probably been lost. The food was underwhelming. The taste was missing. Drinks were also not served as ordered. 0.5L. Cola ordered 0.33 received. Next time I'd rather go somewhere else.

The breakfast we ate here was rich and very tasty. The service was also extremely friendly and nice. The only thing that wasn't so good was the smell of garbage cans on the terrace outside.

A pity! We were regular guests at Rix until last Monday, already in 2023 with the two predecessors and since the reopening in February 2024 also under the new management. The wine prices have always been moderate - in keeping with the ambience of the restaurant, which is located in a district center. That's why we regularly enjoyed drinking Pinot Gris (Bicken Sole Volcanic Rocks) there once a week. We paid a total of less than €20 (before tip) for two carafes of 0.5 liters each up to and including July 8th, 2024. The employee was also happy with it on July 8, 2024. During our last visit on July 15, 2024, the bill for two carafes of 0.5 l each was €27.80 (before tips), unlike the previous week. When asked, the friendly employee said that they had had to increase the prices “a little” some time ago. A look at the drinks menu confirmed the - albeit drastic - price increase (€13.90 for 0.5 liters). Despite our understanding of price increases in the catering industry, we find these to be disproportionate in percentage terms. So long and all the best!

Rick's is a great location with a beer garden. The staff are very attentive and very friendly. The quality of the food is really good and the prices are pleasantly low. 😃

We were there for the first time. We didn't have a reservation and were given a very friendly welcome. We were immediately assigned a table. The employees are very friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere is very tasteful. We had curry sausage with fries and the RIX schnitzel. Delicious . We will be back definitely.

We ate there yesterday and I can't give any stars for the food. The service was attentive and our comment was addressed and the food was not charged. Thanks for your answer... My main course was a shepherd's salad, unfortunately the cucumbers and the coleslaw were no longer edible, the meat on the baked potato was not cooked through and the side salad was no longer good either. The schnitzel was burnt on the bottom side. We would have liked to speak to the owner or the chef, but unfortunately that was not possible upon our request. The service staff was really friendly and dealt with the criticism well.

Ahead, it's going to be a long review. To start off, we have been regulars at Rix for 15 years and have seen several owners come and go. Unfortunately, the current owner has now lost us as regular guests. My rating does not refer to 1 visit, but to a total of 8 visits since the beginning of the year. I am someone who forgives a lot and quickly and there can be 1 bad day or even 2. No problem, we are all human, but if 6 out of 8 visits were terrible, then that is no longer a coincidence or a bad day. Here are the individual reviews: - Food: The food is generally ok and in normal quantities. But by the end of the year it was much better, unfortunately the taste of the kitchen had deteriorated a lot. It also happened twice that it was cold. On the penultimate visit, my companion had the currywurst (which she eats often). It tasted strange that day, we also tried it and it was very sour. So possibly bad. We really politely told the waitress that the sausage was apparently bad. She then just told us: “It can happen!” Yes, I meant snot. Totally rude and no apology or "maybe I can bring something else" or anything like that. P:S: We paid for it in full even though it wasn't eaten. - Staff: Except for 1 waitress, the staff unfortunately didn't deserve a star. Waiting 30 minutes for a Coke late in the afternoon on a weekday. (The store wasn't even half full) is incomprehensible. Furthermore, after the opening, we received a somewhat friendly welcome on our first visit, and on the next visit we were greeted immediately. “Have you made a reservation?” Uh no. with 3 people? By the way, the store only has the 2nd star because of the 1 service lady who really works her butt off, but unfortunately isn't there too often. Otherwise, the sound is rather rough, given the ambience that the Rix wants to convey. Ambiance / price / overall impression: After 15 years of Rix, unfortunately the worst overall impression. It started in 2024 with elegantly decorated roses on the tables and so are the prices. For a baked potato 10 euros, toast Hawaii 9 euros, schnitzel 18.50 euros are already proud prices. If you get something for it, I'm happy to pay it. But well. The food in our canteen is just as good, sometimes even better and more. Service as said above, stroppy, disinterested and not suitable for a "restaurant" that wants to present itself as an upscale restaurant. All in all, you currently have the feeling of being more of a supplicant than a guest. A few more little anecdotes. - I once had the baked potato and wanted a little more quark for it. The lady said it would cost extra. “Yes, no problem,” I already knew from the previous owners. I just found the fact that a small bowl of sauce with quark cost 3.50 euros to be a bit excessive. - As always, we were there on a Friday and had eaten and wanted to order dessert (around 8 p.m.), as we were told "rudely". “We have an event, the kitchen is now closed”. It would have been nice if they had come around again shortly before the end and asked if the guests wanted anything else. At least that's how I know it. Especially if you finish an hour early. I can write more, but unfortunately there isn't that much space.

Special requests, which were always possible in the past, were only fulfilled after massive discussions. Staff was unable to split the bill and was overall very unfriendly.

Yesterday we had dinner there again for a long time with 6 people...unfortunately disappointing despite the new owner. The service is completely overwhelmed and apologizes every time, I come straight away (10 minutes later)...waited 30 minutes for drinks, even 45 minutes for a cappuccino). have complained!! We waited 1 hour for the food... a no go if you order schnitzel and currywurst at 5 p.m. sharp, what happens between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.?!? No preparation for what's coming? The schnitzel was nothing special....certainly not crispy, rather limp. The fried potatoes came cold (for 2 meals) when this was complained about, the answer was: can't be (!) The food was then taken away despite everything and the fried potatoes then came hot. The Obergau then had to wait another 45 minutes for a pancake for a child...the chicken still had to lay the egg. We were really very disappointed and, above all, €160 for 6 people including drinks was gone from our wallet. It's a shame, because you can sit outside very nicely.

Where do I begin. We were super happy until last year. Now the boss has changed and that was noticeable today. My husband's currywurst fries were great, it would be stupid to mess it up, but the potatoes with chicken and my sister-in-law's salad were catastrophic. Chicken tasted like it had been thawed and put in the microwave. When we spoke to the cellarer, her boss folded her up in front of customers!! An absolute no-go is to say “I’m not actually here today.” Or “Find the solution to the problem yourself.” Boss clarifies problems and I would say I will take back all recommendations about this restaurant. You can drink here. Eat at your own risk. I'm now sitting at home with severe nausea.
