The "RiX" is THE restaurant at the Ricklingen community center. It has been run by Markus-Christian Kulz, a restaurateur with heart and soul, since January 29, 2024. The menu is very diverse and includes various categories such as main courses, snacks, salads, seafood, schnitzel, burgers, and breakfast dishes. My group (4 people) opted for the schnitzel. We ordered the "Jäger," "Holsteiner," and Viennese varieties, each for €14.50 with a small side salad. Excellent value for money. The schnitzels were (audibly) pounded and fried in deep clarified butter—perfect! We left satisfied and happy. The restaurant area in the community center is quite large, occupying about half of the ground floor. This makes it feel a bit crowded, and with the increasing noise level, we had difficulty following our conversations. But I will definitely be back. Experiencing affordable and good food is now (unfortunately) a rarity in Hanover.

Delicious food and first-class service. As for the ambiance, the dining room is located in a sort of stairwell, but when you consider the attentive service and the excellent food, the ambiance becomes less important.

It took a little longer to receive the food, but the food itself tasted very good.

There were four of us here for lunch today, and we can highly recommend the beef roulade and the duck. They were delicious.

We had brunch there today, and the breakfast buffet was great. The lunch buffet wasn't good. The potato gratin wasn't seasoned, the schnitzel was cold and had already been rolled over three times, and the potatoes were also cold. The cabbage rolls were cut through and also cold. So, I can't recommend the lunch buffet, sorry.

I went to eat "Prawns All You Can Eat" today. It was absolutely delicious. But otherwise, the food is generally delicious. The service is also fast and very friendly.

The prawns were again delicious. The amount shown in the picture is about 3/4 of the usual amount.

Today we ate delicious prawns, really very delicious, and there was also a small antipasti buffet.

We found this place through reviews and were not disappointed. The prices are very affordable, the food is delicious, and the portions are generous. Don't expect a Michelin star here, but for its standard, the restaurant is more than good. It's very easy to get to: it has its own parking lot and is close to a subway station. The only thing that somewhat spoiled the impression was the dated furniture. The tables and chairs were crying out for a new lease of life. But all in all – a clear recommendation for price and quality! We will be back.

There were three of us eating there and we all ordered the same currywurst with fries and salad. It was so bad that we didn't finish it. In the evening we all vomited. The service was okay. It's definitely worth a visit for a health evening.

We are absolutely thrilled. We thoroughly enjoyed a baked potato with vegetables and a veggie baguette, both of which were incredibly delicious. The portions are enormous, varied, and beautifully presented. The service is incredibly friendly. We'll be back :-)

My cake was moldy, so I ordered an apple crumble cake instead. It was also completely soggy and old. The coffee was cold, but they did give me a hot one afterward, but that was the least I could do after the disappointment. 0/5 stars

I wanted to go for a drink on Saturday, August 23, 2025, around 3:00 PM, but my "hello" didn't get a response. A waitress at the bar, after a brief "yes," I ordered a double vodka and a gin and tonic, but again, no response. The lady continued with her work. After 10 minutes without any reaction from her and without a drink for myself, I left the bar. If you don't want it, you already have it.

The recommendation for baked potato with chanterelles was really good. If the quality is repeated, I'll give it 5 stars next time.

It took some effort for us to return to Rix after the change of management, as we felt very comfortable in the old one. The new Rix, including the chef and the food, absolutely didn't impress us. The schnitzel was bland, flattened, and tasted stale. The currywurst sauce was watery and tasteless. No comparison to the old kitchen. Unfortunately, quantity over quality prevails here, with large portions for less money. The new decor and presentation seem dated and kitschy; before, it was rustic but authentic. We wouldn't go back and wouldn't recommend it. The positive aspect of the evening was the friendly service.

A pleasant, no-frills location, but everything is spotless and there's a cozy beer garden. Wonderful German cuisine; I love the old-school dishes. Rump steak, chanterelle mushrooms, fried potatoes... yummy! The prices are reasonable... just about right! 😉

We gave it another try after being disappointed last time. Asparagus with schnitzel. The asparagus was very firm, the potatoes were good, the hollandaise was good but it seemed to be a ready-made sauce. The schnitzel...for a supposed "schnitzel paradise," it was pretty bad. Hard, seemed to have come from a deep fryer, and the taste was nothing special. If you're hungry, it's okay, but nothing to enjoy!

Okay in itself, but... often too few service staff (as the staff themselves say). The food is okay, but you can tell it's convenience food (frozen, industrial). Currently disappointing: creamed asparagus with meatballs – hardly any asparagus, less, small, extremely soft-boiled potatoes, okay meatballs, and everything drowned in ready-made hollandaise sauce. 🫤 "Cream sauce" means something else.

If you come from this area and know the owners, it's a nice place with atmosphere. And just try out good food with your lunch menu.

Went there for lunch today with a larger group. The service was unfortunately grumpy; there were no smiles. There were no glasses for the soft drinks. Some of my fries were still raw, and my neighbor's were rather black. The side salad was served without dressing. All in all, a lackluster place that's worth avoiding.

No recommendation for the breakfast buffet or brunch! The Sunday brunch was a big disappointment in terms of the buffet. There were only inferior baked rolls in too small a quantity, hardly any fresh fruit (only as decoration). Fresh leaf salads or raw vegetables - none. The promised desserts for brunch were completely missing. And the hot food was so hearty and heavy on meat + overcooked vegetables that I had no appetite for it. We've been here before for the theme evening "Scampi Fed Up" and it was very tasty. This time it should be horse roulade. And unfortunately I was very disappointed. The dumplings were finished products and not fully cooked, the horse roulade was not very tender and only lukewarm, although well filled. The red cabbage, a ready-made product, wasn't hot either. The schnitzel, hollandaise sauce and croquettes were OK. Unfortunately the fried eggs we ordered were forgotten by the service. The salad side dish, again - oh well. Too bad, not satisfied this time.

A restaurant where you can taste German delicacies, especially Schnitzel and Cordon Blau. The food was very tasty. The staff were very accommodating and the prices were very reasonable. I also really liked it because it was dog friendly. I recommend it wholeheartedly.

After repeated ownership changes, I wanted to try the food again with a friend. So we wanted to try out the new owner and unfortunately we left hungry again.... Friday December 13th at 6:30 p.m. There were two people there in the evening, no sign of a closed company. Were referred by a waitress because 80 meals were about to be prepared. You would have to wait 1.5 hours for a table, if at all. We had another smoke outside, while a group of 6 and 4 people went home. If you remember, the Amouri next door was happy. Apparently there was also a small closed group of up to 45 people (the two rows of seats in front of the beer garden) sitting there. But if the store is overwhelmed by this, it should refer to closed society on the homepage and at the entrance that evening. Unfortunately, less than 1 star is not possible.

Excellent food and large portions. Since it's a bar there are more drinks than food, but everything was wonderful. I had the hollandaise schnitzel. It is advisable to make a reservation in advance, as there was a lot going on during our visit as there was also a football match being broadcast. We stayed for three hours and it was very comfortable. Gladly again!

Unfortunately, the quality of the food has deteriorated extremely after the new owner took over. The delicious sauce for the currywurst tastes completely different and not at all like it used to be. Schnitzel came for barely with flat breading, unseasoned and a very poor sauce, compared to before. Unfortunately there is no comparison at all to the old card and the price-performance ratio. The service is, as usual, friendly and understanding for special requests, which is nice. After the takeover, the previously very cozy shop was now decorated with different placemats and candles, which is unfortunately completely inconsistent and unnecessary. We used to enjoy going there regularly, but we'll forget about that in the future, which is a shame.

I've been to Rix for lunch 6 times in the last two months (always different dishes) and have been very satisfied every time! Whether pancakes, currywurst, salad, baguette, fried potatoes: every dish is lovingly prepared and tastes super good! I wouldn't have thought that such delicious food would be served here, as the location looks a bit inconspicuous from the outside.
