Modernly furnished. A little louder, but definitely within limits. Side salad very large, versatile and tasty. Main course beautifully presented and delicious. The menus were brought to us very late. The service was busy with family and cell phones. We were probably forgotten and apologies were also made. After that we didn't have to wait long. The meal didn't take long either. The service was friendly, but a bit too fake/exaggerated/too much. Starters were too expensive for us.

I love it there from the service to the food. Everything is great. We always like to come back. Absolutely recommendable ♥️

We ordered from the Schnitzel Parade today via Lieferando. After the food had not been delivered at 6:15 p.m. We called there once. They said there was a technical error and since the restaurant was full we would have to wait another 60 minutes. We said no because we had already been waiting 1.5 hours for the order. Then they got cheeky on the phone and said we should keep our mouths shut and that we were lazy because we ordered through Lieferando. So we won't be ordering from this store again. You should all think about whether you ever eat there. It's just well-intentioned advice.

I found out at Christmas that you can eat well there. I tried it today and can only recommend stopping there. This portion can fill you up. Me I personally liked it and will go there again. Above all, very friendly staff.

I was there with my family at Christmas and I have to say...everything was GREAT!! I can't understand how anyone can complain about the "waiting times" on public holidays, there were definitely no long waiting times to take orders. The restaurant was full of guests and yet the service and food was wonderful! 10/10!

We were there on December 25th. to eat there. You could already see that the restaurant was really full, every table was occupied plus the large hall. The ambience and decoration were very harmonious and everything looked like it had been thought out with love. The food was simply delicious and there was really nothing to complain about. The service was also very polite and attentive, it's hard to imagine the stress the whole team must have on days like this. For this reason I don't understand the negative comments. It goes without saying that on days like this with such a large number of guests the waiting time can be a little longer. Especially at Christmas time you actually hope for a little understanding. What should be emphasized is that everyone rated the food well, even though there were over 150 guests and the kitchen had a lot to do

Ich und meine Beste Freundin gehen sehr oft da zum Essen,weil das einfach mega schmeckt und mit viel Liebe gemacht da warte ich auch sehr gerne auf das Essen.Kann auch mal vorkommen an Feiertagen das es etwas länger mit warten aber ist auch verständlich wenn die Bude platz von vielen Gäste😅Ich kann es einfach nur Empfehlen geht da mal mit Familie oder Freunde Essen und besonders an Feiertagen 🥰🤭

We went for Christmas dinner with the family. I have never eaten such delicious food. Whether it's a starter, main course or dessert, everything is delicious and prepared on the plates with great attention to detail. Although there was a lot to do for the staff, they were always friendly. It goes without saying that I have to wait a bit at Christmas. The reward for waiting was the delicious food. I've eaten in many restaurants in Germany on business, Zum Ötzi in Pohlheim is a must if you want good food.

The food is good, but the service and waiting times at Christmas leave a lot to be desired. It took a total of 4 hours for our meal, plates weren't put away, drinks we ordered were forgotten, etc.

We were there for lunch today. It's no problem that it takes a little longer on days like Christmas, but waiting 45 minutes until the order is taken and then sometimes 40 minutes between courses is borderline. And unfortunately we were not alone with this problem. Big compliments to the kitchen because the food was great! Unfortunately, the service was subpar and virtually non-existent. We don't know why that was, but it wasn't a great experience for me as a first time visitor.

We had lunch here today (Boxing Day) with the entire family (18 people). It was very nicely decorated for larger groups in the large hall. This was a big win over Giovanni. A menu with 4 courses and 6 different main courses was on offer. Sowei, so good. After we arrived at the restaurant at a quarter to one we were able to order at a quarter past one. Now it took a whopping 2 hours(!) until we got our starter (and it was only the starter(!)). Sure, the place was full but there's clearly a structural problem here. We definitely had patience, but 2 Hours is far too much of a bad thing. What continued to annoy me was that there was no word of apology! So just one star. Of course it won't take 2 hours on normal days, but you should have plenty of time to eat at Ötzi. The food is really good but the timing definitely needs to be worked on!

So first of all: The food is really tasty and the atmosphere is appealing. So far there is nothing to complain about. However, it is a disaster how long guests are made to wait for their food here. We ate here with a larger group on Boxing Day. Of course, it's normal that you have to be patient on days like this. But waiting almost two hours just for the starter? No thanks! We booked a table at 1 p.m. and were able to order shortly afterwards. But at 3 p.m. some of us still hadn't had a starter... The main course took another 40 minutes. And this despite the fact that the restaurant even offered a special Christmas menu with a limited selection of dishes. The preparation must be quicker?! We lost our appetite for dessert shortly before 5:30 (!), which is not how you should treat your guests. But even after multiple complaints, there was no sign of insight from the staff. It's a shame, because the restaurant actually has potential in terms of the quality of the food.

We were guests there with a total of 17 people, including children. We ordered a table there from 1 p.m. and were served the main course between 3:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. You don't have to do anything more about this! The food was also no longer average (steak was ordered medium and was fried somewhere between English and medium). The drinks took ages to arrive and we finally canceled dessert around 4:30 p.m. Unfortunately not a recommendation!

Eating out on Christmas Day should be special. Unfortunately we were disappointed in all respects. We made reservations a long time in advance and specifically asked about vegan and vegetarian dishes. When we arrived there was a fixed 4-course Christmas special with a vegetarian option that couldn't be shaken. It took over 100 minutes for us to receive our starter, and the restaurant wasn't even half full. The next disappointment came with the main course, which arrived almost 2 1/2 hours after arrival. Selected side dishes were not taken into account correctly, the steak was mostly anything but medium rare, and the bread dumplings were almost all underdone. The fact that a meal was completely forgotten was noted in a very unkind manner. In general, the food never came at the same time and plates were not put away. But at least we were able to see how each person ate the non-homemade dessert. Half the supermarket gingerbread at least caused laughter at the table.

Nice restaurant, good service & delicious food for a good price 10/10. Will happily eat there again :)

Lovingly decorated food, great taste and no one goes home hungry. Price performance for the ingredients used is also very good. I don't have high expectations for the ambience, but I think those with expectations can also be satisfied. The time between ordering and eating is a little longer than I'm used to. But without a fidgeting child this wouldn't be an issue at all, you sit comfortably and the drinks come quickly. For us, this is our new favorite restaurant.

I was passing through, stopped here more or less by chance and was really pleasantly surprised. Large selection of schnitzels, apparently very popular. I chose the lamb chops from the good selection of grilled specialties. There is also a nice selection of starters, many unusual dishes. The food came to the table attractively prepared and tasted very good. Waiting time wasn't a criticism for me, but it was already late and the rush hour was probably long over. Service was very friendly, ambience with a feel-good atmosphere. Price-performance ratio is also more than fair. I would go there more often if it was near me.

Basically, I can definitely recommend this restaurant. The food is of very high quality and beautifully prepared. The portions are more than sufficient and the price-performance ratio is right. At the same time, the restaurant is furnished in a very modern way. What left a somewhat negative aftertaste was the excessive waiting time. Ultimately, everyone is aware of the staff shortage in the catering industry, but 1 1/2 hours of waiting time on Sunday lunchtime in a restaurant that is not even half full is (unfortunately) very close to the limit.

Schnitzel Ötzi. Sharp. Mega! Generous amount of jalapeños. Meat 1A. Baked with garlic, fat and sucuk. I ordered with rice instead of fries. Salad was great too.

Wir waren dort zum Geburtstag meiner Oma und mussten über 2 Stunden auf das Essen warten. Der Tisch wurde vorher auch reserviert. In 18 Uhr waren wir dort und erst um 20:30 Uhr kam das zwei Stunden eher bestellte Essen. Eine Entschuldigung gab es nur Seitens der selbst vom Chef genervten Bedienung (halbherzig, aber letztlich konnte sie ja auch nichts mit der Planung das Lokal komplett zu überbuchen). Wir kommen nicht mehr her.

Totally underground. Waited over 2.5 hours for the food and when we asked about it, the answer was simply "it will continue straight away." The waitress just said an apology in passing. Should be a nice birthday for my almost 80 year old mother. Unfortunately, she was now totally sad and out of sorts. It's not possible, sorry, but they won't see us again anytime soon.

We were there for my grandma's birthday and had to wait over 2 hours for the food. The table was also reserved in advance. We were there at 6 p.m. and the food we ordered two hours earlier didn't arrive until 8:30 p.m. There was only a half-hearted apology from the waitress, who was annoyed by the boss herself. As a consolation we received 2 free beers (for a party of 8 people). The staff was so overwhelmed by an event taking place at the same time that we were completely ignored for long periods of time, which is why the drinks took a long time. In the end, the waiter who was collecting the money, who had previously reacted very unfriendly and annoyed to (one!) question about the food, sneaked a tip himself because he had no change left. We don't come here anymore.

We had dinner there last night after making a problem-free reservation. Ambience on the terrace is nowhere near as good as inside, but it's good. Side salad came after about 60 minutes, main course followed 10 minutes later. Both dishes were well prepared and tasted great. But why only 2 stars? After the main courses were served, we had no service staff at the table for a full 40 minutes. And that with empty glasses. We would have liked to have a dessert with coffee, but unfortunately we lost the desire for it. After we waved to pay and I asked the lady about it, there was a hesitant “sorry”. Event catering also has something to do with service.

As far as food goes, it's definitely worth going there. It is very tasty and beautifully presented. Luckily, this restaurant also delivers. The gentleman in service was very nice, but he was a bit too pushy for me and my husband. We lacked professional distance. Maybe it was just that day, but overall it took a long time for the food to arrive. So we spent 3 hours there while our children slowly had to go to bed and got whiny and a gentleman at the next table asked after 1.25 hours of waiting for his food when it was coming. I think we will be more likely to order there and have it delivered or picked up in the future. Because as I said, when it comes to food, it's worth it!

I was there with my daughter and the food was excellent. We both ordered a salad and it was not only beautifully presented, but also tasted very good. You can tell that they really pay attention to detail and put a lot of love into it. In the end, the boss even came by personally and asked if everything was okay. The service is extremely overwhelmed even with 25 people. After asking 3 times, the beer hadn't arrived yet, once ordered again from another waitress, it came after 20 minutes. The second beer tasted stale, could have been the beer from the first order (1.5 hours old) Eating took forever. The Cordon Bleu was really good, which surprised me in a positive way. Either he should let them eat outside the house or hire more staff. Several people complained and asked what was going on with their food.

After trying to find an order, I have to disappoint you that it is not our order. Just because I recommend Schnitzel Ötzi should make you think about whether we might have ordered one. By the way, you were wrong with 3x schnitzel with Holloway sauce. None of us had hollandaise sauce. I understand that you don't feel like receiving reviews like mine, but I'm not thinking about what I'm writing. And yes the food looked beautifully prepared. But I also stated that in the reviews.

We were there relatively spontaneously yesterday and thought it was great. The staff was super nice, you could even exchange a few nice words with the boss, who told his story in just a few words and the food was absolutely great. I eat an Italian combination almost always and everywhere, so I can say that I know what I'm talking about when I say that this was one of the best I've ever eaten.

Very tasty food that was beautifully prepared. We had pasta, salad and schnitzel. The portion of the schnitzel was really generous. The pasta was ok and the salad was unfortunately a bit small for the price. Unfortunately, we weren't even asked if we would like something more to drink

I stopped by Ötzi's for the first time today and went home totally thrilled and full. Yummy Yummy Yummy. I would definitely like to come back here. One more thing: let Fero surprise you! At first I was a little irritated by his surprise offer, but the wine he served me absolutely suited my taste. So with dessert I was surprised again. Here too he met my taste. We went to the restaurant for the first time today and left full of excitement! The food was super tasty and really fresh! The mixed salad was the best we had ever eaten and lived up to its name. The main courses were a great size and the price-performance level was definitely right! The staff is also very friendly and you feel very comfortable on site! We would love to come back and can only recommend the “Zum Ötzi” restaurant.

Last night I was a guest at this great restaurant with my family, I would say we found a new favorite restaurant! Very tasty food and drinks, service was A1!!!!!!! We will see each other more often :)

Very nice service staff, ambience is simple and tidy inside and out. The portions are generous and very nicely prepared. What was unfortunately very sad when I looked at the bill was that when I packed the uneaten food I was asked to pay €3.50 per packaging for packaging. This was not mentioned at all by the service. I also don't know this because, as I understand it, it's part of the service. Otherwise everything was good.

The food was great, the service was great, the atmosphere was great, everything was great. I'm more than satisfied and I really enjoy eating there. If you haven't been there yet, I can only heartily recommend it to everyone.

The waiter took the plate away again and came back with the explanation that minced meat sauce had been made at the same time and that something might have gotten into the food, but that's not possible! The waiter then rummaged around in the food in front of you with his spoon and said there was hardly anything there. The waiter could also be a bit more professional, some sayings didn't work at all.

We waited about 2 hours for the food, a drink was forgotten but then showed up on the bill. One meal was oversalted and another was made with cheese that had gone bad. Service was slow and unfriendly... won't be that quick again.

Ristorante Zum Ötzi in Pohlheim left us with a very positive impression overall. As soon as we entered we received a friendly and warm welcome. The building, as well as the seats and tables, were very clean, which immediately gave you a good feeling. Even though we were there at lunchtime, we didn't have to wait in a queue, which was really nice. The menu is impressively large and offers a huge selection of different dishes. We were particularly impressed by the special children's menu, which had a nice little surprise for the little ones at the end. The dishes we ordered were beautifully presented and tasted excellent. Despite a large event in one of the neighboring rooms, we didn't have to wait too long for our food, which surprised us very positively. A small downside was the slightly smaller parking area, which might not be enough for a larger group. In addition, it took a little too long for our orders - both drinks and later food - to be taken. Unfortunately, the portions of the French fries were also a bit too small. The front door was always open and the breeze from cigarette smoking was very unpleasant for us. All in all, we can highly recommend Ristorante Zum Ötzi and look forward to our next visit!

It was our first time eating there and we weren't disappointed. The service was very friendly! There are also enough parking spaces available. My highlight were the apricot dumplings. It couldn't be better! Everything was prepared with a lot of love and of course fresh! We can only recommend it!

Essen: gut - Service: grottig Zum Essen: Lecker, auch wenn Mehl und Mayonnaise als Deko auf Untertellern etwas ärgerlich sind, da man das Zeug schnell an Kleidung oder Körper hängen hat. Keine Kinder- oder Seniorengerichte, vegetarische Gerichte (wenige) nicht gekennzeichnet, vegane warme Speisen gibt es wohl gar nicht. Ansonsten: Sehr lecker! Zum Service: Unsere telefonische Reservierung wurde vergessen. Da meine Tochter das erste mal allein reserviert hat, war das Telefon auf Lautsprecher gestellt, sodass wir das Gespräch zu dritt gehört haben. Statt sich zu entschuldigen, wurde rumdiskutiert. Dann wurden wir zu sechst an einen 4-Personen-Tisch gequetscht und auch nicht umgesetzt, als ein größerer Tisch frei wurde. Der Kellner wollte die Nummern der Gerichte nicht hören, er sehe es nicht ein, diese auswendig zu lernen. Wir mussten also noch einmal nachblättern und den Namen vorlesen. Lächeln konnte er auch nicht - unfreundlich, mal fühlte sich wie eine persönliche Belastung für ihn. Der Laden war sehr voll, daher waren Speisekarten knapp. Meiner Tochter wurde mit einem lapidaren "Darf ich, Schatzi?" die Karte von hinten aus den Händen genommen und an einen anderen Tisch gebracht. Unmöglich. Aber der Ton gegenüber Frauen ist hier auch schriftlich absolut sexistisch: "Wenn ihre Frau nicht kochen kann, behalten Sie sie als Hobby und essen sie hier." (Wie viele Frauen bleiben mit ihren Männern zusammen, obwohl diese nicht putzen können?) 40 min gewartet, bis wir bestellen konnten. Die Gäste am Nachbartisch haben sich irgendwann selbst Karten geholt. Insgesamt haben wir 90 min auf unser Essen gewartet, die Nachbarn noch länger. Die Atmosphäre war anstrengend. Es war sehr laut, keine Abtrennung zwischen den Tischen zur Lärmreduktion oder für Privatsphäre und die Küchentür knallte ununterbrochen laut zu. Die Dekoration spießig-modern, viele Fotos vom Inhaber. Auch nicht wirklich passend. Also alles andere als geeignet für einen schönen, ruhigen oder gar romantischen Abend. Zumal es für mich hygienisch absolut nicht geht, Hunde auf den Sitzbänken zu dulden. Das geht für Allergiker gar nicht. Wir kommen nicht wieder.

Wow, eine sehr positive Überraschung! Gemütliches Ambiente (auf dem Foto kommt es leider nicht zur Geltung), mega lecker und sehr geschmackvoll angerichtet. Was will man mehr? Na zum Beispiel eine sehr schnelle und freundliche Antwort per Messenger wegen Tischreservierung. Top. Bitte nicht durch die lange Speisekarte irritieren lassen. Alles ist frisch und sehr gut. Das fritierte Lavash-Brot ist ein Gedicht, zumindest für uns und unsere Freunde. Wir waren zwei mal da und kommen sicher wieder.

Ein super tolles Restaurant, hervorragende Küche, sehr netter und zuvorkommender Service. Wenn wir wieder in Gießen sind kommen wir 100% wieder. Bitte bleibt wie Ihr seid

Weihnachtsfeier im großen Saal, Essen sehr einfach, gewöhnlich,kaum Bedienung,lange Wartezeit

Im Restaurant sehr nettes Ambiente, sehr freundliche Bedienung und SEHR gutes Essen. Außergewöhnlich schön dekoriert und sehr lecker. Portionen sind recht groß und das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis ist mehr als gut.

Super Freundliches Personal was heutzutage leider sehr selten ist. Das Essen war einfach perfekt super lecker. Wir kommen aufjedenfall wieder.
