Eat like your mother eats La Gondola saves frills on the table and plates. In return they can offer pizza and pasta at reasonable prices. And in winter even mussels for less than 15 euros.

La Gondola has become my absolute favorite Italian restaurant. I discovered it by chance 2 months ago and have been there 4 times since then. I'm thrilled! Food: The price-performance ratio is very good. The dishes are delicious, the portions are great. The appetizer platter and the lasagna are highly recommended. Service: The service is very courteous and friendly. You are greeted by the boss and the waiters are very attentive and, even in stressful situations, very patient and nice. Ambiete: The ambience is very classic. With white tablecloths in the Italian style. The restaurant is centrally located and can be easily reached on foot. However, you usually have to park a little outside. Still a super pleasant atmosphere. All in all, one of the greatest Italians in Esslingen, we would love to come back again and again.

Small, family-run Italian restaurant with very good cuisine. Gluten-free pizza and pasta are no problem at all, which is by no means a given. Strangely enough, there is no direct reference to this on the homepage.

We were at La Gondola with six people on a public holiday and had a really nice evening. The restaurant was very busy that day, which understandably led to slightly longer waiting times. The Pizza Speziale I chose was outstanding! It tasted authentically Italian, with a perfectly thin base and fresh, high-quality ingredients. The other people in our group's pizzas also looked great and were universally praised. In addition, the prices are really fair for the quality offered, which makes the visit even more worthwhile. Overall, it was a completely successful visit with delicious food and a pleasant atmosphere.

I recently tried La Gondola's delivery service in Esslingen and was extremely satisfied. The ordering process went smoothly and the food was delivered on time and hot. The food was of excellent quality; The pizza was particularly impressive with its crispy base and fresh ingredients. The delivery person was friendly and professional. Overall, an excellent service that I would happily recommend.

We wanted to have a separate room for our Christmas party. We were also promised this. We were not told that the room was full of other people. Food was okay, service had forgotten a lot. But we were also present with 18 people. I wouldn't have a Christmas party here again. For me, separate means separate. And no smaller with other people.

The Best Italian Restaurant in Esslingen and around Stuttgart with amazing food and wonderful people. Friendly owners and waiters taking good care about their guests. Food is of high quality and prepared with fresh ingredients, all dishes were prepared to our fullest satisfaction and tasted very good. We had dinner on three nights and the restaurant was always fully booked. We can only recommend this Ristorante and Pizzeria La Gondola to everyone. There are very good, almost authentic pizzas in Esslingen for some decades. Service was and still is great. The prices are not excessively high.

Ate super delicious gluten-free pizza. The boss had taken special care to ensure that nothing went wrong and corrected my mistake when ordering from the other cellar regarding gluten-free. Thank you very much, my little daughter has celiac disease. We would love to come back. It's now our favorite Italian.

We were at Christmas market in Esslingen and were looking for a place where the four of us could stop off. La Gondola still had room for us after we were turned away at 4 other restaurants. How happy we are to have got a place there 😊 A real original Italian where you think grandma is in the kitchen and has been preparing dishes for decades. We were served bread with olive oil (which is the boss's personal gift and which you can purchase). A dream 🤤 Then came our antipasti plate with very tasty, high-quality sausage and vegetables. We ordered pizza and pasta. Both prepared to perfection. An absolute tip in Esslingen

We were here for the Christmas party, 30 people a la carte, big praise for the kitchen and service staff, we all had our food at the same time. High quality and delicious 👌 Christmas decorations on the tables would have been the icing on the cake 😉

I wasn't there myself. My wife was there with our child and ordered an apple spritzer for her and our child. The waitress didn't know that the apple spritzer was already fermented and therefore contained alcohol. When they were asked about it, they reacted with incomprehension. Definitely do not visit this restaurant! Service staff generally very unfriendly.

Very disappointing! I was really excited about this restaurant, but the evening was a complete disaster. The waiter was incredibly rude - he barely paid any attention to us and when we asked for recommendations he just rolled his eyes in annoyance. I've never experienced anything like this! The portion of noodles I ordered was tiny. For the price I would have at least expected to be full, but I felt like I ordered a starter even though it was sold as a main course. The taste was nothing special, it was rather bland. And if that wasn't enough, there was someone sitting at the next table who actually had a dog with him. I love animals, but I just don't think it's appropriate to eat in a restaurant. The dog even barked at times, which made the atmosphere even more unpleasant.

After 3 hours the pizzas we ordered are still not there. Even though we called 3 more times. They said they were on their way.

Even though we had reserved, finding a table was difficult. We were then assigned a large, round table upstairs, which made conversation between four people almost impossible. In addition, loud rock music played at first, but at our request - we were the only ones in the room at the time - it was turned down a little. A short time later a large birthday group arrived, which brought our conversations to a complete standstill. The food tasted good, the service was mixed and after 20 minutes of waiting and repeated requests, we went to the counter on the ground floor to pay because we didn't want to miss our bus.

Ladies and Gentlemen Unfortunately, our last visit to your restaurant "La Gondola" was very disappointing. There were several issues that we would like to address: 1. Wrong orders: We did not receive our ordered dishes correctly and some orders were even mixed up. 2. Forgotten orders: Some orders were simply forgotten and not prepared. 3. Disorganized service: Even though the restaurant was full, it is incomprehensible that all the guests were so badly served. A young waitress seemed very inattentive and claimed that the guests had not responded to their requests. When orders are taken it should be clear which table they are assigned to as your tables are numbered. 4. Poor customer service: It's not appropriate for a waitress to stand around waiting for customers to show up. This shows a lack of understanding of good service in the catering industry. We hope these issues are addressed and resolved to make future visits more pleasant.

A good Italian restaurant with the classic selection of pizza and pasta dishes.

Unfortunately we didn't have a reservation and had to wait, which was totally worth it. From the outside the restaurant looks rather inconspicuous, but as soon as you walk in you have the feeling of being in Italy. Despite the restaurant being full, the food was served in a good time. We all had a starter and main course and it was absolutely delicious. The selection of gluten-free food was also great, as every pasta dish and pizza was prepared gluten-free upon request. I can only recommend a visit.

Had reserved for a family celebration. We were moved to the 1st floor without prior information (I am severely disabled and the stairs have no railing to hold on to, especially in the curve.) The gnocchi are from the prepackaged (the Gorgonzola spinach sauce was a delight, however). The restaurant was full and the service was very hectic and sometimes even rude.

We ordered pasta, wine and pizza. I liked everything. They brought it quickly. But it’s better not to wait for payment, but go inside and ask for payment.

We were there with 4 people on a warm evening including a reservation. At this point the restaurant was already busy. Until we were brought to our seat as the service staff walked past us several times. The order took a very long time and it took over an hour for our starter to arrive at the table. It was only possible to reorder drinks if we actively asked a service person about it. The starter plate was very spartan for us, the pasta dish for the main course was very good.

Every now and then I take spaghetti Bolognese with me and all I can say is - simply delicious! The mixed salad is absolutely good and, above all, fresh. It's easily enough for 2 people. I can therefore highly recommend a visit.

Actually, I have found gondola to be a great authentic Italian restaurant in the budget range for years. But the pizza sizes have now become really ridiculous. Especially for the price. The pizza size is comparable to a frozen pizza. Why do you save here while the deep plate is overflowing with pasta dishes? Sorry, the pizzas have to be bigger... even in Italy I've never had pizzas that small.

We were eating with the family... unfortunately our waitress had little empathy and served her drinks impatiently and when she ordered she couldn't wait... Sorry that's not possible. One star is way too much... the service is acceptable Left to be desired...the waiter didn't have good manners either...looked unkempt. 0 service. Never again.

Service was the worst. Food was fine. Meerfrucht spaghetti was having few crunch shell pieces. Pizza was little soggy but fine. I dont know why the staff was so tired at 1pm, getting irritated at every single thing. I had to go to the counter by the kitchen, just to ask for a fork/spoon. But still getting annoyed at simple things. Bill didn’t even ask in advance if together or separate. We didn’t even order dessert, just wanted to leave as soon as possible. Went after Esslingenlauf for tasty food as friend recommendation, but very disappointed. Food was alright but for such service i dont go ever again.

An Italian ristorante like there are many. Friendly and authentic service rounds off the down-to-earth and optionally gluten-free food. Only the atmosphere was pretty and bright. The small salad didn't suit our taste.

The price-performance ratio is consistent. The prices are a little cheaper than in many other Italian restaurants. But this is due to the processing of many guests, here there is quick and easy pasta (gluten-free is also possible at an additional cost) the atmosphere is not the most beautiful or comfortable restaurant to linger for a while, but it is still quite acceptable to satisfy your hunger needs. Mega plus point: gluten-free selection. Nowadays some people have the problem with the chemical glue “gluten”...the choice of restaurants and dishes is limited, not here. Here you can choose a gluten-free selection for almost every dish.

At La Gondola the service stands out by the Padrone Gaetano and team with attention and friendliness. However, the real magic of this restaurant happens in the kitchen with Chef Giovanni. My boyfriend and I were just in the restaurant, we had a reservation, as soon as we entered we were measured from head to toe, we said we had a reservation, to which we received the answer wait 2 minutes, then another 2, then another 2 to which I stopped the waitress and asked what was happening where she looked at us and said only 2 minutes, we stood in the corridor for 10 minutes no one even looked at us, there were empty tables Shame on you!!!

There is a sign on the entrance door that says you can pay with the Esslingen City Card. However, this was denied during the payment process or it was claimed that the sign was 20 years old... It can't be that the whole initiative was only 2-3 years ago. As if that wasn't enough, the staff is extremely unfriendly. This has nothing to do with Italian food. No recommendation sorry

So we were here with guests from abroad. And they were all thrilled, including me, just like in Italy.

The best Italian in and around Esslingen! The food is great, the service is friendly and the two of us have always been able to get a seat spontaneously. Here you can get a great Italian pizza for under €10, a clear recommendation! 🍕

Very large selection of different dishes, served friendly and quickly

We were there with a larger group. The food was good and came in a reasonable time, as did the drinks. What didn't work at all was the heating on the upper floor, it didn't work and the room was extremely cold. You can't do that to your guests. The payment process ended up taking a very long time. It was assumed that around 15 people would all pay with cash, which of course wasn't the case. The gentleman we paid to obviously didn't feel like doing it and let us feel it too. This left a rather negative impression.
