Very good, we came by chance since the rest of the restaurants were closed and we were pleasantly surprised, they treated us great and the food was delicious! The pizza with a perfect dough and the spaghetti carbonara very good. Great quality-price. Recommended!

A good Italian restaurant with the classic selection of pizza and pasta dishes.

Unfortunately we didn't have a reservation and had to wait, which was totally worth it. From the outside the restaurant looks rather inconspicuous, but as soon as you walk in you have the feeling of being in Italy. Despite the restaurant being full, the food was served in a good time. We all had a starter and main course and it was absolutely delicious. The selection of gluten-free food was also great, as every pasta dish and pizza was prepared gluten-free upon request. I can only recommend a visit.

Had reserved for a family celebration. We were moved to the 1st floor without prior information (I am severely disabled and the stairs have no railing to hold on to, especially in the curve.) The gnocchi are from the prepackaged (the Gorgonzola spinach sauce was a delight, however). The restaurant was full and the service was very hectic and sometimes even rude.

We ordered pasta, wine and pizza. I liked everything. They brought it quickly. But it’s better not to wait for payment, but go inside and ask for payment.

We were there with 4 people on a warm evening including a reservation. At this point the restaurant was already busy. Until we were brought to our seat as the service staff walked past us several times. The order took a very long time and it took over an hour for our starter to arrive at the table. It was only possible to reorder drinks if we actively asked a service person about it. The starter plate was very spartan for us, the pasta dish for the main course was very good.

Every now and then I take spaghetti Bolognese with me and all I can say is - simply delicious! The mixed salad is absolutely good and, above all, fresh. It's easily enough for 2 people. I can therefore highly recommend a visit.

Actually, I have found gondola to be a great authentic Italian restaurant in the budget range for years. But the pizza sizes have now become really ridiculous. Especially for the price. The pizza size is comparable to a frozen pizza. Why do you save here while the deep plate is overflowing with pasta dishes? Sorry, the pizzas have to be bigger... even in Italy I've never had pizzas that small.

The service was very unfriendly and very disrespectful towards us. The food was okay, but the rest didn't even deserve a star. I wouldn't recommend it.

Service was the worst. Food was fine. Meerfrucht spaghetti was having few crunch shell pieces. Pizza was little soggy but fine. I dont know why the staff was so tired at 1pm, getting irritated at every single thing. I had to go to the counter by the kitchen, just to ask for a fork/spoon. But still getting annoyed at simple things. Bill didn’t even ask in advance if together or separate. We didn’t even order dessert, just wanted to leave as soon as possible. Went after Esslingenlauf for tasty food as friend recommendation, but very disappointed. Food was alright but for such service i dont go ever again.

We were eating with the family... unfortunately our waitress had little empathy and served her drinks impatiently and when she ordered she couldn't wait... Sorry that's not possible. One star is way too much... the service is acceptable Left to be desired...the waiter didn't have good manners either...looked unkempt. 0 service. Never again.

An Italian ristorante like there are many. Friendly and authentic service rounds off the down-to-earth and optionally gluten-free food. Only the atmosphere was pretty and bright. The small salad didn't suit our taste.

The price-performance ratio is consistent. The prices are a little cheaper than in many other Italian restaurants. But this is due to the processing of many guests, here there is quick and easy pasta (gluten-free is also possible at an additional cost) the atmosphere is not the most beautiful or comfortable restaurant to linger for a while, but it is still quite acceptable to satisfy your hunger needs. Mega plus point: gluten-free selection. Nowadays some people have the problem with the chemical glue “gluten”...the choice of restaurants and dishes is limited, not here. Here you can choose a gluten-free selection for almost every dish.

The food tastes quite good. However, I don't find the staff to be too friendly. The waitress doesn't even look at you in a friendly way, there's constant shouting and generally the atmosphere isn't the best. But the prices are fair.

It's hard to beat the value for money, one of the few Italians where the prices are still fair and the food is still delicious.

At La Gondola the service stands out by the Padrone Gaetano and team with attention and friendliness. However, the real magic of this restaurant happens in the kitchen with Chef Giovanni. My boyfriend and I were just in the restaurant, we had a reservation, as soon as we entered we were measured from head to toe, we said we had a reservation, to which we received the answer wait 2 minutes, then another 2, then another 2 to which I stopped the waitress and asked what was happening where she looked at us and said only 2 minutes, we stood in the corridor for 10 minutes no one even looked at us, there were empty tables Shame on you!!!

There is a sign on the entrance door that says you can pay with the Esslingen City Card. However, this was denied during the payment process or it was claimed that the sign was 20 years old... It can't be that the whole initiative was only 2-3 years ago. As if that wasn't enough, the staff is extremely unfriendly. This has nothing to do with Italian food. No recommendation sorry

La Gondola is more than a restaurant, it is a lifestyle

Service is top and food is very tasty! 3 courses (we only shared the starter between the two of us) + 2 drinks only cost 25 euros per person. You won't find better value for money anywhere!

Our first stop for a good Italian around the corner for almost 40 years. Great family atmosphere. Wonderful selection and also ideal for families.

So we were here with guests from abroad. And they were all thrilled, including me, just like in Italy.

The best Italian in and around Esslingen! The food is great, the service is friendly and the two of us have always been able to get a seat spontaneously. Here you can get a great Italian pizza for under €10, a clear recommendation! 🍕

Very large selection of different dishes, served friendly and quickly

We were there with a larger group. The food was good and came in a reasonable time, as did the drinks. What didn't work at all was the heating on the upper floor, it didn't work and the room was extremely cold. You can't do that to your guests. The payment process ended up taking a very long time. It was assumed that around 15 people would all pay with cash, which of course wasn't the case. The gentleman we paid to obviously didn't feel like doing it and let us feel it too. This left a rather negative impression.

La Gondola has been the Italian restaurant in Esslingen where I regularly eat or have it delivered for over a decade. Satisfaction: 99% It couldn't be better. In addition: The two padrones are very likeable.

Ordered 2 pizzas to pick up. At the entrance we were not greeted in a customer-friendly manner by the older gentleman. No welcome or hello, as if we showed up at a private party. Very impersonal operators, it was definitely not because of our non-European origins.

Were at the Gondola today, the wheat beer served was stale and warm with ice cubes =>> was not drinkable and was cheaply charged after a complaint. The waiter's statement was that beer is warm =>> in my opinion it's like drip beer. Pizza is like that, never go there again

Unobtrusive pizzeria from the outside with a surprisingly good price-performance ratio. Very friendly staff, pizza under €10, large selection of meat and pasta dishes at reasonable prices. It's a shame that the windows are so closed - it makes it difficult to see in and out of the view. That was one of the reasons why we walked past the restaurant carelessly for a long time.

Leckeres Essen, bodenständig, authentisch.

War das ersten mal zu Gast im La Gondola. Es war mir noch nie aufgefallen von außen. Im Inneren die typische italienische Einrichtung. Wir hatten zum Glück einen Tisch reserviert, denn nicht lange danach war das Ristorante brechend voll und das blieb auch so. Gäste gingen und neue kamen. Der Sevice war am Anfang noch nicht so aber das änderte sich schnell. Wir waren zu sechst. Die erste Runde Getränke kam sehr zügig und wir bestellten beim Chef direkt. Carpacio vorne weg und danach Fischplatte und verschiedene Fleischgericht sowie Nachtisch. Alles hat sehr gut geschmeckt und auch das Auge durfte mit essen. Auch der Preis für alles hielt sich in Grenzen. Im großen und ganzem war der Abend sehr gelungen. Und es war bestimmt nicht mein letzter Besuch.

Ein Besuch bei La Gondola ist wie eine Reise durch die Extreme der italienischen Küche. Die Pizza, die ich bestellte, erforderte nicht nur gutes Zähneputzen danach, sondern auch einen festen Glauben an die Überwindung von kulinarischen Herausforderungen. Der Salat, so frisch wie eine morgendliche Wiese, schaffte es, meine Geschmacksknospen auf eine emotionale Achterbahnfahrt mitzunehmen – von leichter Begeisterung bis hin zur Verwirrung, ob dieses Geschmacksexperiment beabsichtigt war. Das Bier war eine wahre Delikatesse für Liebhaber von Geheimnissen und Unerklärlichem. Ein Hauch von Rätselhaftigkeit, kombiniert mit einem subtilen Unterton von "Ist das wirklich Bier?" – eine Erfahrung, die man mindestens einmal im Leben gemacht haben sollte. Das Personal war so charmant unfreundlich, dass ich fast vergessen hätte, dass ich eigentlich gekommen war, um zu essen. Ihre Fähigkeit, Desinteresse zu perfektionieren, verdient wirklich Anerkennung. Und die Wartezeiten – ein wahrer Test für die Geduld. Wenn Sie in Zukunft Zeitreiseübungen absolvieren möchten, dann ist La Gondola der perfekte Ort. Die Zeit verlangsamt sich hier so geschickt, dass man fast vergisst, warum man überhaupt gekommen ist. Insgesamt ein unvergessliches Erlebnis bei La Gondola, das ich sicherlich irgendwann verdrängen werde. Buon viaggio culinario!

Gute Portion, das Essen schmeckt sehr gut und es ist preis günstig... Alles perfekt.

Wir waren mittags beim La Gondola essen. Das Essen war ok, nicht gerade herausragend. Ich hatte einen Salat und Spaghetti Bolognese. Der Service war gut. Was mich sehr gestört hat: Nach dem Verlassen der Gaststätte habe ich sehr nach Essen gerochen . Meine ganze Kleidung, inkl. Jacke und Tasche, musste in die Waschmaschine. So etwas kann ich gar nicht leiden und werde dort nicht mehr essen gehen.

Ich betrat das Restaurant ohne vorherige Reservierung, um spontan für meine Familie und mich – insgesamt 8 Personen – anzufragen. Der Gastgeber reagierte zunächst positiv, bat um einen kurzen Moment Geduld und schob zwei Tische zusammen. Sein zustimmendes Nicken schien eine klare Bestätigung zu sein. Die Enttäuschung folgte, als wir mit Kindern, meiner Schwiegermutter (die ein Kopftuch trug) eintraten. Plötzlich und unerwartet sagte der Gastgeber ab, mit der Begründung, dass angeblich kein Platz mehr vorhanden sei. Die Ironie dabei war, dass diese Absage ausgesprochen wurde, sobald er meine Schwiegermutter mit Kopftuch sah. Dieses abrupte Verhalten wirft ernsthafte Fragen hinsichtlich möglicher rassistischer Vorurteile auf. Die Diskriminierung, besonders gegenüber bestimmten Gruppen wie muslimischen Familien, ist bedauerlich und lässt einen bitteren Nachgeschmack zurück. Solche Erfahrungen sollten in unserer Gesellschaft keinen Platz haben.

Gutes Essen und preiswert,italienisch...

Ristorante italiano con cucina riadattata ai gusti tedeschi. Nel complesso un buon compromesso tra le 2 cucine. Staff cordiale e attento ai clienti.

2 Mal dort gewesen... Beide Male leider katastrophal. Beim ersten Mal waren alle ziemlich unfreundlich, gestresst und es wurde viel geschrien.Ich wurde von einer Kellnerin geschubst. Obwohl ich mich entschuldigt habe (was ich nicht hätte machen müssen) , hat sie mich böse angeschaut und den Rest des Abends ignoriert. Beim zweiten Mal hatte ich danach eine Lebensmittelvergiftung. Preise sind günstig, aber dafür ist das Essen auch maximal okay und das Ambiente veraltet. Nie wieder.

Ich kenne das Lokal schon so viele Jahre und es ist immer wieder schön dort zu essen bedienung freundlich, Ambiente angenehm, essen lecker 😋 Preisleistung gut. Ich hatte die Regatoni ai quattro formaggi die ich nur dort so bekomme egal wo ich die schon gegessen habe so wie bei La Gondola schmecken sie nirgends

Wer durch die schöne Stadt Esslingen streift sollte die Gelegenheit wahrnehmen das La Gondola zu besuchen, die Auswahl der Pasta, Fisch und Fleisch speisen besticht nicht nur auf der Karte sondern auch auf dem Teller. Das Tiramisu ist göttlich gut und die Bedingungen vermitteln einen Charm welcher das Essen dort abrundet.

Sehr leckeres Essen, eine freundliche Bedienung und ein sehr große Auswahl an italienischem Gerichten zu fairen Preisen.

Ein Besuch lohnt sich , Essen hervorragend, Getränke wunderbar, keine Beschwerden alles prima, Bedienung superfreundlich.

Die gutenfreien Pizzen die wir bestellt haben waren nicht besonders gut. Der Boden war nicht ansatzweise durch und der Belag hat auch nicht geschmeckt. Die Pizzen haben nach rohem Hefeteig geschmeckt. Dafür gibt es einfach nicht mehr als 2 Sterne!

Ständig überfüllt. Personal maximal desinteressiert. Besonders unfreundlich für Familien mit Kindern und der Besitzer war ein echter Rassist. Desinteressiert, unfreundlich, ewige Wartezeiten. Auf jeden Fall nie wieder. Nicht zu empfehlen. Nein.

Top Leute Service und Preis Leistung

Seit ca. 30 Jahren hab ich keine Calzone mehr gegessen... Bei den meisten Italienern gibt es die nicht (mehr) auf der Karte...hier schon und zwar ziemlich gut gemacht ...sehr lecker... Danke für das zurückbringen meiner Jugend- und Kindheitserinnerungen ... ;)

Beste Pizza in Esslingen! Toller Teig, aromatische Tomatensauce, frischer Belag. Und wenn ich mit Knoblauch bestelle, schmeckt sie auch nach Knoblauch :) Liebe ich!

Waren zum ersten Mal hier essen und sehr zufrieden. Hatten Caprese, Pizza Tonno und Tortellini bestellt. War alles mega lecker. Obwohl sehr viel los war, kam das Essen schnell und der Service war aufmerksam und freundlich. Preis- Leistungsverhältnis völlig in Ordnung.

Wir warten immer noch… Wir hatten als Stammgäste seit fast 20 Jahren für 19:00 Uhr innen reserviert. Als wir ankamen, sollten wir außen platziert werden. Wir saßen dann mit zwei weiteren Tischen in einem sonst leeren Raum. Aber bestellen konnten wir erst nach 30 Minuten. In der Wüste könnte meine Kehle nicht trockener sein… Als wir endlich bestellt hatten, dauerte es rund eine weitere halbe Stunde bis die Getränke kamen. Das Essen hatten wir zum Glück gleich mitbestellt. Es kam nicht gleichzeitig für alle 5 Plätze, aber im Raum von 5 Minuten. Mein Essen persönlich war gut, aber das meines Onkels, welcher hier schon seit 20 Jahren zu Gast ist, war am Teller fest gebacken und auch nicht wirklich durch. Die restlichen Essen waren allerdings gut. Dann verlangten wir die Rechnung. Warte kurz, ach ja wir warten immer noch. Wir sollten vom Chef persönlich einen Aperitif bekommen, er kam dann ohne etwas und auch ohne Rechnung. Übrigens warten wir immer noch…😂

Zunächst hat es über 20 Minuten gedauert, bis die Bestellung aufgenommen wurde. Weiter: Statt Orangensaftschorle bekam ich Orangensaft. Okay, Missverständnis. Geschenkt. Kann passieren. Die Gnocchi waren nicht selbstgemacht, sondern aus der Tüte und schienen obendrein auch noch alt und nicht richtig durchgekocht gewesen zu sein. Sie waren insgesamt bröselig und mehlig. Die Tomatensoße war geschmacksneutral. Keine Kräuter, keine Gewürze, kein typisch italienischer Geschmack. Gleiches gilt für die Tomatensuppe (zu der es übrigens auch kein Brot gab). Ein Teil meiner Bestellung (eine Pizza - es handelt sich bei hiesigem Lokal wohlgemerkt um eine Pizzeria) wurde einfach vergessen. Hierfür hab es keine Entschuldigung, nichts. Ambiente: Kein italienisches Flair (abgesehen vom italienisch schreienden Personal). Der Laden könnte genauso gut "Jägerstüble" heißen. Das Lokal ist lieblos und oldschool eingerichtet. Alles wirkt altbacken und austauschbar. Personal: Restlos überfordert und ineffizient (wobei das eine aus dem anderen resultiert). Das Personal rennt rum wie ein Haufen aufgescheuchte Hühner, die Kellner schreien sich gegenseitig an und trotzdem läuft einfach nix. Ich als Gast muss dann trotzdem ewig warten. Dieser Stress und diese Hektik überträgt sich auch auf die Gäste. Einen entspannten und schönen Abend hat man hier sicherlich nicht.
