Everything was great, nice service, good food, great value for money. I eat here regularly and can only recommend it, we had our Christmas party here with almost 20 people, the restaurant was completely full, we still didn't miss anything, the boss was all super nice and attentive, the food was great and we could Eating together despite the restaurant being full, thank you for a great evening

We celebrated our wedding there in 2015. Was the best ever. Then the owner and cook died. Then it went downhill.

One meal was cold but was replaced. Otherwise everything is okay.

We have enjoyed eating here for years. Price-performance is in the green area. The interior could use some updating, as it is very stylish and decorated in brown tones. A little pizzazz wouldn't hurt here. But more important to me is the food, which should be the focus and this is consistently great. However, last year (2022) in summer and October it wasn't always as great as before. Now we were there again in December 22nd and everything tasted good, there was nothing to complain about. Maybe the chef has changed??? Let's wait and see what it will be like next time. The staff and the boss are very accommodating. There is a disabled toilet in the restaurant and others where you have to climb a lot of stairs. There is also a covered outdoor terrace and a beautiful outdoor area with plenty of seating under the trees. Depending on the time, sometimes it is covered, sometimes not. But that doesn't bother me if everything else is right. If no one is sitting outside yet, why should you cover yourself under trees, that would be more messed up than anything else. Yes, it sometimes seems a bit messy on the side where the stairs come down from the terrace, I admit that. (this review is from 2022, I just forgot to post it :) ) What I think is nice is that every guest follows You can choose a schnapps, liqueur or, alternatively, an espresso before paying. That doesn't exist everywhere anymore. In April 23 I was there again with my friends and despite a lot of celebrations, the staff was friendly and quick, responded to special requests and no matter what we ordered, it tasted very good. As always, there was a plate of olives, pepperoni and bread beforehand. Basically I don't give 5 points because there is always something that can be improved. Anyway, I hope the chef who was cooking at the time stays.

We weren't that happy, in fact I didn't really like it. The waitresses were attentive and friendly. The restaurant itself could use a renovation. I think it's okay for the price.

We went to the restaurant for lunch twice in a row. The boss and his staff are super friendly and extremely friendly all the time despite being very busy. The food is very tasty, starting with the greeting from the kitchen. Once we had cream schnitzel with mushrooms and the other time we had steak with pepper sauce. The side dishes are plentiful and there is also a large, fresh mixed salad. About the delivery service We have often ordered pizza or schnitzel. The food in the restaurant is of very good quality and the delivery service is also very friendly and fast. Friendly family restaurant, nice service, delicious food with a cozy beer garden.

We have been regular guests at Il Giardino for over 10 years and have actually been satisfied so far. The food is good, even if it has gone down a bit lately, the prices are fair and the beer garden is nice. But the service has gotten worse and worse. Sometimes the wrong food is brought, sometimes one of the meals comes first served when the first ones were already finished, drinks are forgotten and the waiting times are long. However, on our last visit the service was particularly poor. Long before the food came, we ordered more drinks, asked the waitress again after ten minutes, and continued to wait. When we had almost finished eating without getting our drinks, I asked again. The waitress replied that it was busy and there were other people in the restaurant waiting. Almost half an hour after the first order, we finally got something to drink - and how: Without a word, looking away from us, the waitress slammed the glasses loudly onto the table, causing my apple spritzer to spill over and run across the table. When the boss later cleared the plates and asked if everything was OK, I told him that the food was good, but that the drinks had unfortunately taken a long time to arrive today. His answer: I would probably see that there would be a lot of activity today. As he walked away he added: I should go online and write a review. I have now followed this wish. It's a shame, but we won't be going to Il Giardino any time soon and we'll advise others not to visit.

This was our first time ordering food from Pizzeria II Giardino. The food was very good, kudos to the chef. The delivery man was very friendly and the service on the phone was just as friendly 👍 The Ristorante Pizzeria II Giardino is one of the best restaurants in Saarbrücken.

We didn't arrive until 9:35 p.m. and even though the restaurant closes at 10 p.m. we were warmly welcomed and were able to eat and drink in peace. We sat really nicely on the terrace, the food was really good and filling, the service was very attentive and friendly. Many, many thanks to the entire team!

This is the second time that the meat dishes haven't convinced me; starters, pasta and pizza have always been great. The service is very nice and friendly. The atmosphere is cozy Italian.

So far I've always been thrilled. The food is still good too. The boss is also very friendly and great. However, the older lady is sometimes so unfriendly that we won't come anymore. Her tone and choice of words make you feel unwelcome. As if she doesn't want you to be there as a guest.

Went there with a larger group. The boss was just annoyed. Then I won't accept anything like that!! Some people left before eating. Food was average. Portions very small. No risk of repetition. We won't bother him anymore.

The Christmas menu is a matter of taste... but you could live with compromises... but not with what came next... Tortellini with porcini mushrooms for a whopping €16.90... and €3 for the side salad... the tortellini You could count and the taste of the porcini mushrooms was difficult to recognize... there were exactly 10 of them in a tomato sauce with onions... Price/performance ratio in this one was absolutely inadequate... The staff is very friendly, but the boss is smiling or Don't expect greetings at the door. All in all, I don't recommend it...

Really good cuisine with fresh ingredients and super friendly and attentive service. Always happy. And even if it's just a seemingly small thing: we think it's great that there are cloth napkins, a gesture of hospitality and so much better than the loveless paper items that unfortunately are now almost exclusively available. Unfortunately different than expected. Steak with herb butter was ok. Unfortunately the herb butter had already been put out of the steak and there was nothing left. Should be extra. Onions were not fried enough. But steak was tender. Vegetables too overdone and without taste. Fries were cold and soggy. Unfortunately, the pizza was also cold and we had to warm it up again. But the taste is good. A pity. Maybe it's better locally. But we won't be ordering anymore.

Not recommendable!!!!! I've never eaten so badly. There are a variety of options for side dishes. But it is not adhered to. Tasteful without words. Delivery time took a long time but Saturday evening is okay.

After several attempts we finally managed to get a table and we were not disappointed with the service or the food. Service including the boss was very attentive and friendly. Food such as veal schnitzel milanese or veal liver were very tasty, portions were also generous. We had ordered bruschetta combinatione as a starter and a short time later we received a plate with two bruschettas with tomatoes on them and a few pepperoni and olives on the side. We thought that would be the starter but it was the greeting from the kitchen because after that came the bruschetta. It feels like there are five bruschettas with different toppings (and no small ones) and also pepperoni and olives. A large portion for really little money and delicious. I took about half of the main course with me. All around a lovely evening.

We love coming to Il Giardino. Always very courteous service, delicious food and good price/performance ratio. While the quality of many restaurants in the area is constantly decreasing as prices rise, the Pizzeria Il Giardino manages to bring consistent quality to the table at more than fair prices.

We have been regular guests for a long time. Delicious food at reasonable prices and attentive service. The standard menu is really good, with the recommendation menu the chef can let off steam and he does so at a high level. Meat and fish hit the spot perfectly and don't need any chichi. Compared to other restaurants in Saarbrücken that call themselves “upscale”, Il Giardino can really score points. It should also be positively mentioned that reordering is not a problem. Allergies and intolerances are catered for very well and due to the obviously sensitive handling of food, the restaurant is highly recommended (also at HIT!) We didn't have any negative experiences when ordering. Unfortunately there is no recommendation card....

Despite the late hour (9:40 p.m.) we were still able to order pizza. It was very tasty. The very friendly and always attentive staff should also be highlighted. Top.

Miserable cuisine - friendly service First of all, we shared Bruschetta Variazone (5 x bruschetta with tomatoes, mozzarella, eggplant, sheep's cheese, tomatoes). The bread was barely warmed, but it was edible, but the mozzarella was poor quality. Spices? Completely non-existent. I had the pork piccata milanese, the parmesan egg shell was soggy, the meat was OK, the side spaghetti was drowned in a loveless tomato sauce (completely spice-free apart from a little oregano), the vegetables on the plate (carrots and beans) were just cooked to death. When I asked, it wasn't from a can, as I suspected, but frozen. That just doesn't match the prices that are charged here, but I expect fresh goods. The service took my criticism calmly. During the course of the evening I also noticed that most of the other tables were drinking rather than eating, and the cuisine was probably a better choice, so overall only one star.

Unfortunately I cannot recommend it. Food is ok, but nothing exceptional. Service very unfriendly. We (6 people) ate in the restaurant before an event in the Saarlandhalle, which was really well attended. The service staff (female) tried to remain friendly despite the stress. But the waiter (maybe the boss) was so unfriendly. I haven't experienced it in a long time. We didn't feel welcome, more like we were an imposition. When we paid we were shouted at by the waiter for no reason. When I spoke to him in a friendly manner in his unfriendly way, he replied that that was just how he was....That doesn't need any further comment. It's a shame that you are treated like this as a paying guest who might want to have a nice, relaxing evening. I will not recommend this restaurant.

Very good food and the staff was very nice

Wir waren heute zu viert da. Wir hatten Reserviert doch man fand uns nicht im Buch. Naja, bleiben durften wir trotzdem aber mehr schlecht als recht. Wir haben uns tatsächlich sehr unwohl gefühlt. Die ältere Dame mit Brille vielleicht wäre ein anderes Berufsfeld ohne Menschen was für sie. Wir waren oft dort aber das hat sich mit heute erledigt! So kann man auch Gäste los werden ;)

Sehr gute Pizzen, Sonderwünsche (z.B. Pizza Calzone, nicht auf der Karte) sind überhaupt kein Problem, das Personal ist sehr zuvorkommend. Gehe ich sehr gerne wieder hin. Beim nächsten Besuch werde ich mal ein Fleischgericht probieren und freue mich darauf.

Wir waren für ein paar Tage in einem Hotel in der Nähe unter gebracht und sind an der Pizzeria öfter vorbei gefahren. Wir haben zu Abend gegessen, beide Pizza. Die Pizza war lecker. Beim reinkommen eine sehr freundliche Begrüßung, schön eingedeckte Tische, warm und gemütlich. Überrascht waren wir von dem "Gruß aus der Küche" sowie auch vom Grappa/Amaretto nach dem Essen. Solche kleinen Willkommens- oder Abschiedsgesten findet man nur noch ganz selten. Bedienungen sehr freundlich. Gutes Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis. Hat alles gepaßt, wir waren sehr zufrieden.

Reservierung nicht bekannt. Also ganz hinten am letzten Tisch platziert. Carpaccio war noch gefroren in der Mitte

Pizza sehr dürftig belegt. Service unaufmerksam und nicht allzu freundlich. Mundwinkel in einer Position als würde Trauerbotschaft verkündet.

Super leckere Muscheln und Pizza.

Obwohl es super voll war, bekamen wir spontan noch einen Tisch. Bedienung hat die Bestellung schnell aufgenommen und auch das Essen kam sehr schnell. Es hat sehr lecker geschmeckt und es gab einen Gruß aus der Küche und einen Schnaps aufs Haus.

Wir gehen schon seit Jahren ins il Giardino weil es ganz in unserer Nähe ist .Das Essen war schon immer eher mittelmäßig , aber der Preis war fair und deshalb sahen wir über manches hinweg. Aber mittlerweile sind die Preise nach dem Umbau des Biergartens ( sehr schön ! ) dermassen gestiegen und auch die Qualität des Essens wird immer schlechter. Vor allem die Unfreundlichkeit des Chefs , die teilweise schon auf die Mitarbeiter abgefärbt hat ist für und nicht mehr hinnehmbar. Nicht nur wir haben das so erlebt ,sondern auch mehrere Freunde und Familienmitglieder. Da nützt auch ein kostenloser Likör nach dem Essen nichts ! Deshalb werden wir zukünftig das il Giardino nicht mehr zu Essen aufsuchen. Als Gast will man auch als solcher behandelt werden.

Tolles Ambiente und Super Essen!

Wirklich sehr schön. Das essen ist lecker aber etwas teuer bezahlt man aber gerne.

Nach mehrmaligen Enttäuschungen, war ich an diesem Abend sehr zufrieden. Vom Ambiente ganz zu schweigen. Das ist fantastisch. Das Essen war sehr gut und war sehr heiß,was nicht immer der Fall war. Die Gastfreundschaft war sehr gut. Es wurde sich sehr um jeden einzelnen gekümmert . Und Freundlichkeit und Schnelligkeit wurde groß geschrieben

Schweineschnitzel war sehr zart. Gemüse war zart, aber vermutlich mit einer Gemüsebrühe erhitzt. Bolognaisse Soße war leicht versalzen. Kann ja mal passieren. Der Koch sollte das Gespräch suchen, nicht die Bedienung fragen ob alles ok ist. Die Krönung war jedoch beim Verlasen des Lokals. Der Chef schaut TV, bleibt auf dem Stuhl einfach sitzen und wirkt gelangweilt. Ein Bier im gemütlichen Biergarten gerne wieder, Essen aber auf gar keinen Fall.

Schönes, großes Restaurant mit wunderschönem Biergarten. Die grossen Kastanien spenden auch im Sommer ausreichend Schatten und es ist liebevoll dekoriert. Die Pizzen schmecken immer wieder sehr lecker. Angemessene Preise und freundlicher Service. Wir kommen immer wieder gern hier her.

Die Pizza war vom Teig her, sehr dünn und sehr schlecht aus der Hand 🍕zu essen, zu weich und auch etwas fade vom Geschmack. Das war im letzten Jahr (2022) und auch in diesem Jahr unverändert. Der Service und das neue Ambiente mit den Bodenplatten hat sich im Biergarten aber positiv verändert und wir haben sehr schön gesessen

Ein sehr schönes Restaurant auf dem Rodenhof mit leckeren Speisen. Meine Pizza war super und die Bruschetta im Vorhinein war auch sehr gut. Die Lage ist ruhig und der Biergarten sehr groß. Super nettes Personal und das Restaurant ist sehr sauber.

Leider muss ich feststellen, dass es wohl auf die Tagesform des Kochs ankommt. Diesmal war das Essen lecker, wobei wir uns immer noch von der Pizza fernhalten, da diese einfach nicht mehr so schmeckt, wie vor ein paar Jahren.

Nachdem wir beim letzten Mal mit den Nudeln aufgefallen waren, hatte ich mich für das Entrecôte entschieden. Leider war es etwas platt und entsprechend war der Garpunkt grenzwertig.

Wie früher in guten lokalen. Mit Tischdecken und Stoffserviertten. Hat Charme. Großes geräumiges Lokal.. Schneller freundlicher Service. Preise ok. Essen war in Ordnung, aber nichts was ich Freunden Empfehlen würde.
