It's a simple restaurant, but the food is excellent. The pizza oven is practically in the dining room, so you can watch the pizzas being baked. The menu is quite extensive. The spaghetti vongole, the mussel mix, and the filled pizza rolls are fresh and highly recommended. The pizzas are also good and some are unusual. The prices are reasonable. Unfortunately, it's always too cold in the dining room—even in winter. It's also a shame that you can't sit outside. Update: This year, there will be seating in the courtyard.

A complete disappointment. I've been a regular customer for a long time and always tip generously – and yet I still get served something like this. There was hardly any salami on the pizza, and it's obvious that it was forgotten and then just thrown on top cold. That's not only uninspired, but truly disrespectful to loyal customers. Very poor.

The food was tasty and plentiful. Unfortunately, the restaurant had a rather strange smell. Countless fruit flies were coming from somewhere and were somewhat bothersome while eating. A cold draft swept in every time the entrance door was opened. A curtain would be a good idea. The service seemed a bit uncertain.

My pizza was delivered today with pepperoni (pork) instead of chicken, without any prior consultation, even though I don't eat pork as a Muslim! After calling, I learned that the pizza was still listed on the menu, but hadn't been available for a month – something I, as a customer, couldn't possibly know. The replacement pizza also arrived without the two extra toppings I had paid for. Two deliveries, both wrong – very disappointing.

The ambiance is sadly stuck in the 80s. There's a lack of investment everywhere. The entire restaurant desperately needs a renovation. The service is curt and rather unfriendly. I visited for the first time in 30 years, and it looks exactly the same as it did in 1995. Not really recommended.

The prices for the pasta are outrageous. That says it all.

Unfortunately, most of the positive reviews are fake and mostly from the Far East or South America. But let's get to my review: We were looking forward to a lovely evening at da Piero. The restaurant is simply decorated, and the service was unfriendly. We were all the more disappointed by the food. My pasta tasted completely mediocre and seemed more like a mass-produced item than a freshly prepared Italian specialty. The same went for my companion's pizza. Given the exorbitant prices, we simply expected more. For the same money, you can get significantly higher quality and a more flavorful experience elsewhere. We won't be returning.

I ordered the pizza without ham and with extra pepperoni sausage (paid 1.50 euros extra) but unfortunately there was more ham than pepperoni sausage on the pizza.

The owner was incredibly friendly and welcoming. You immediately felt welcome. The pizza was simply fantastic – authentic Italian, with a thin, crispy crust and fresh ingredients. I'll definitely be back!

The lasagna wasn't tasty, the cheese was strange (probably some kind of cheese like Gouda), and it reminded me a lot of store-bought lasagna. I regret ordering this. Dessert was okay, although the homemade tiramisu wasn't anything special. The chocolate soufflé was the best part of the order. The delivery person was very sweet and friendly.

This pizzeria is highly recommended! The food is always freshly prepared, the ingredients are of high quality, and the pizza has a wonderfully crispy base. Whether you eat in at the cozy restaurant or have it delivered, the quality remains top-notch. Deliveries are fast, and the food arrives piping hot. The Google review is overrated in MY opinion 😵‍💫 The pizza was good, homemade, and baked in a stone oven. My wife's meal was so-so. Tagliatelle with salmon. It's no use if the plate is full. If you get the feeling that it's not homemade and is just a mess. There's no point in going back.

We're giving you 4 stars for the food because it was ultimately delicious. Had the pizza been properly topped, it might have been 5 stars. Diavolo with corn? Black olives and the homemade hot sauce (also missing) would have been perfect. Therefore, 3 stars for the service. We didn't have time to complain and wait for the right pizza, so hunger led us to eat the unusual pizza. A little more care would have surely delivered the right pizza to the customer. Unfortunately, pictures of the pizza and the actual order cannot be uploaded.

I ordered a gluten-free pizza. It took 45 minutes to arrive and was completely inedible. The pizza arrived cold and very salty, and some of the corn was already dark. After I called again and explained that I wouldn't eat the pizza as it was, I was simply told that it was pre-made dough. They didn't apologize or try to accommodate me. And then I paid so much for it.

The welcome was very warm. The salad, which cost over 10 euros, was quite small but fresh, and the yogurt dressing was also okay. Our pizza had a very firm and well-cooked crust....

Super delicious pizza with buffalo mozzarella

Excellent service and top quality! I visited Pizzeria Da Piero in Oberthausen for the first time in 20 years – and I'm absolutely thrilled. Although it was very busy and the place is rather small, the service was incredibly friendly – consistently. I ordered a 45 cm pizza calzone and an iced tea. I was told it would take about 20 minutes – but in the end, the pizza was ready in less than 10 minutes! There's clean seating outside, which is unfortunately not a given everywhere. The pizza not only looked great, but also tasted absolutely delicious – fresh, juicy, and perfectly cooked. The price is negotiable, but in this day and age, it's completely reasonable. In conclusion: Very friendly staff, quick preparation, top quality – I'll definitely be back!

The following spoiled our appetite: The delivery didn't arrive after 40/45 minutes, but after 90 minutes. The very friendly driver apologized a thousand times, but the unfriendly manager on the phone simply said, "Then we should have canceled by phone." And secondly, the prices differed by about 25% from one of the menus published online (wood-fired oven, 30 cm). That's almost dubious. And finally, the quality of the pizzas was nowhere near what I remembered from before (the unique selling point of the wood-fired oven)!

We spontaneously decided to have lunch there. The owner was very friendly and accommodating. Based on his recommendation, we opted for the pizza, which was absolutely delicious. If you're not into all the fuss (as is typical at a good Italian restaurant), Piero's is the place for you! Honest, authentic Italian cuisine with quality ingredients in a rustic setting – what more could you ask for? My wife and I will definitely be back at Piero's on our next visit to Obertshausen. In short: Pizzeria da Piero is highly recommended.

I ordered a simple spaghetti aglio e olio, but received a huge portion with chunks of tomato, spring onions, and pickled peppers, all drenched in oil. It had nothing to do with Italian food, let alone a proper meal.

We got off the highway and grabbed a quick pizza to go. Crispy and fluffy crust and a thin base. We also had pizza rolls and garlic dip (aioli—highly recommended there!) and chili oil. We also ate the oil with the pizza. I've saved this restaurant and will gladly stop there on my next trip. The service was also super friendly 😊

I've always been very satisfied with the food here. Also the fast delivery service and the friendliness. Unfortunately, I just seemed to have bad luck with my meal this time; there was a fruit fly in the salad, and instead of yogurt dressing, there was vinegar and oil. The pizza itself... I had ham and mushrooms, I personally didn't find appealing; the ham was so thickly topped that I thought it was sausage... I threw out the thick pieces. Not very tasty or attractive. It's a shame; otherwise, everything was always top-notch.

Home order: + Delivered within 35 minutes. + Pizza very tasty and plenty of toppings, price and performance are right here. - The souffle was a joke! 8€ for a ready-made chocolate cake (diameter 6 cm at the bottom, 7 cm at the top, 3 cm high) with this chocolate sauce from the ice cream parlor on top. So pizzay yay, dessert nay.

Nothing special. We were alone in the restaurant and waited 40 minutes for 3 pizzas. In Germany it is much better.

I don't know who writes such great reviews. Does he get something for free? Looks very much like a fake review. We were there today with 5 people. 3 x pizza and 1 x rump steak, 1 x gnocchi. Pizza was just ok. A bit dry, there was no olive oil to put on yourself. Rump steak was rubbery and went back because it wasn't chewable. Gnocchi was underwhelming. Homemade does not mean homemade. Tablecloth was stained, cutlery was unclean and had to be exchanged. The kicker was the bill (photo attached): dishes are not listed by name and are only listed under dishes, and the drinks are also only listed under drinks without a name. The returned rump steak was charged €17.80. I complained about this at the table. I was told by the innkeeper that I had ordered it and if I didn't eat it, I would have to pay for it. Others wouldn't have objected to my steak. Nobody else had it before me. I paid in protest, even though I don't think I should have. It has never happened to me that I have to pay for a food item that was immediately complained about. For this "Romanian" Italian in a shop like this, one star is still too many. For me, the successor here in the pizzeria is not acceptable. He only draws on the reputation of his predecessor, who now successfully runs the Da Zio-Vito restaurant opposite Obertshausen train station as a "real" Italian.

Too bad. I really wanted cannelloni and didn't want to order from the "big T". We ordered for the first time and were surprised at the speed of delivery (initially positive). The messenger wasn't really friendly, but we would have ignored that. When we ate, we would have preferred to wait longer - I prefer pasta cooked through, rather than hard and half raw. The consistency was like dry rubber. It's also clear from the taste that no (or only a little) ground beef is used. I even had thick cartilage in my hack. The salad was nice, fresh and could have been good if the yogurt dressing wasn't almost mayonnaise-like and I hadn't found a hair in it. I would have been happy to have a positive experience for the future; The pizzas are supposed to be very good.

Have ordered. Ok, it's Saturday evening, but getting cold food delivered after waiting almost 2 hours is unacceptable. Calamari for 13€ are simple…7 pieces with sauce. Absolute impudence. We had two good orders there. After this catastrophe, orders will no longer be placed there. It takes less than an hour to drive around Essen.

Cold service and cold pizza! I ordered a party pizza on Monday evening - the order was confirmed, the money was deducted immediately, and I waited about a whopping 1.5 hours. When the pizza finally arrived it was cold. The store closes at 10 p.m. and no one answered the phone to provide an explanation during the long wait. For me this is an absolute no-go. It was a Monday evening, not even a busy Saturday, and yet the service was a complete failure. To make matters worse, there wasn't even an apology, let alone a drink on the house, to defuse the situation. I was hoping to find a good pizza here, but even the best pizza doesn't taste good cold.

So it's not a small order... we are really more than disappointed :( apart from the really unfriendly delivery person who came to us with sayings like I can't wait here for hours and other things that were super unfriendly... the pizzas are cold and I think mine is really cold and limp , the pasta has no sauce let alone salt and pepper... so we definitely won't order anymore

This is how I imagine a traditional Italian restaurant. We felt totally comfortable. Food was super tasty. Pasta and pizza are a dream. It's been a long time since I've had pizza this good. It wasn't the last time we were there.

It is a small cozy restaurant in a quiet residential area. The employees are super nice, the boss is very personable, the food is great! I had the BBQ pizza and it was really tasty! The dough is well made and the toppings are delicious. A friend of mine went there several times and enjoyed it every time. For dessert we had Nutella pizza, and despite my initial skepticism about this combo, it turned out to be delicious. You just never stop learning. =) Prices are completely reasonable.

I had dinner here with the family today and I have to say it was a feast. The food was sooooo delicious. I have very rarely eaten something like that. The turkey schnitzel tasted incredibly delicious and the pizza had cheese in the crust. Everything was extremely tasty. In my opinion 5 stars are even not enough. I will come here very often and the boss is so nice and a kind-hearted person. All in all just perfect and the tastiest pizza I've eaten so far

I visit this place repeatedly, one of my favorites♥️ firstly because the menu is very varied and most importantly the products are always perfectly fresh and the meat and seafood are finger-licking vegetables, very tasty! alcohol, large selection of cocktails, wine, Beer, etc. And most importantly❗️❗️❗️PIZZA ❗️❗️❗️you can try this kind of pizza only in this establishment, it’s divine, I’ve never tried such delicious pizza 🍕 in more than one establishment! + food delivery to your home, you want to come back to this establishment again and again!

Unfortunately not a good pizza and rather unfriendly

At 7 p.m. we ordered six pizzas, a pasta dish and a salad. After more than 60 minutes, everything except the salad was delivered. Some of the pizzas were kept warm, some were still very fresh. Instead of an apology and an appropriate addition, after more than 30 minutes you only received the salad.

Quite a small restaurant/pizzeria with good food. Both pizzas and pasta dishes are good and baked in a wood-fired oven. Friendly service and fair prices. Unfortunately there is no outside seating. Delivery service available - we use it more often.

Delivery service: The food used to be really good here, unfortunately we were really annoyed. Ordered chicken salad plus avocado and was very disappointed. Mini portion with only iceberg lettuce, 2 olives, 3 tomato wedges, 3 cucumber slices and the extra avocado, which costs €1.50 extra, was so raw and unripe that it was not edible. Really a shame and definitely the last time we ordered.
