Ristorante Da Toni in Altenstadt

A total surprise just around the corner from us. Really delicious food in a great atmosphere and also with super friendly staff. Everything is right here. We'd love to come back.

We have recently been living in Altenstadt and are thrilled with Da Toni. Very friendly service and whether salad, fish, meat, pasta, pizza...everything tastes excellent! The Tagliatelle Mare, which can often be found on the table, are particularly recommended.

The food is fantastic and so is the service 👍😊

We had a wonderful evening at Ristorante Da Toni! The atmosphere was very inviting and cozy. The food was simply delicious – authentically Italian and made with fresh ingredients. Particularly noteworthy is the extremely friendly and attentive service. We felt completely comfortable and would love to come back.

Usually full, and therefore quite noisy. It's just about cozy. Outside, there's little to no separation between people. The food is good, but unfortunately, not as special as it was a few years ago. Recently, the pasta dishes have often been a bit weak in flavor and not always served hot, but the prices are mid-to-high. Some dishes are expensive. In my opinion, that doesn't quite match what you get for them. You don't have to take them; the menu offers more. Nevertheless, at these prices, you become more critical; you expect something special, and that isn't always delivered. Definitely not your average Italian restaurant; you don't just get standard fare here, but something special on your plate. Over the last 30 years, it has evolved from a primarily pizzeria to a stately restaurant. Pizza is rarely seen on the tables here anymore, which used to be the norm. Takeaway sales are no longer the main source of income here either; that's probably handled by other delivery services in the area. One thing I do have to consider negative: the outdoor chairs are worn and uncomfortable. Conclusion I still like it, but it's not like I have to go there every month. It's now down to 1-2 times a year. I think you can tell a bit from the number of visitors.

It was really full, but they still made an incredible effort, responded to all requests and everything went well. In addition, the food was really good and affordable too. So definitely recommended!

Great pizza and a super cozy atmosphere.

Great Italian, delicious food, fast and friendly service, delicious wines. All in all, perfect for an evening with friends. We'll be back, promise. And we were back and again everything was excellent. The food is fantastic, the service is quick and very friendly and the prices are still very reasonable 😊

The food is really very tasty, you could also taste that everything was very fresh and homemade and it was delivered very quickly after ordering. The waitresses were very friendly and memorized everything correctly, the emphasis is on memorized, she didn't write anything down, but was able to bring everything to the table correctly without asking.

A successful men's evening with very tasty food and a few drinks. The staff is very friendly, which is unfortunately no longer a given today. Wasn't the first time here and not the last time either. Simply top!

We were in this restaurant for the first time. The ambience was great, the service even better. It took an hour from the time the food was ordered until it was delivered, but the restaurant was also full. We were called the evening before, something I've never experienced before, and asked if we would show up with a full number of people. I actually think that's good. The restaurant was running at full capacity, and an hour's wait is not unusual. We felt comfortable, the time passed quickly even with children, and the food was very tasty... the price-performance ratio was also more than right. I will definitely recommend DaToni and will go there again.

There were four of us for dinner. The food, quality and service were outstanding. The staff was very attentive, friendly and always had a smile for us. The ambience is also good. I don't give it 5 stars because the price for some dishes is a bit high. We will definitely eat here again for a special occasion. This restaurant is worth a visit.

Never again!! We were ONLY 3 people. We had to wait 45 minutes for anyone to come to the table and then the waiter wondered why we didn't know what we wanted to eat...we hadn't gotten a card yet! Waited 1 hour for the food. Zero attention as to whether we want to drink again. We then waited another 45 minutes for the bill. By the way, the terrace was empty and only about 1/4 full inside, so hardly any customers. This happened to us twice, definitely not a third time. We'll never go there again.

Disappointing. Both from the food and from the service

Update December 28, 2024: Sad! My wife and I went to Da Toni again. Like my earlier one below. Unfortunately it wasn't a review or rating. It was extremely loud, hectic, the waiters were shouting loudly to each other and there was nothing left of a feel-good atmosphere or a cozy atmosphere. The food was mediocre. When we finally finished, I almost had to beg to pay and was ignored by my waitress for 20 minutes. In the end we just got dressed and I had to go to the counter myself “to be allowed to pay”. It's a real shame but unfortunately true. You can also go to the pub there. My previous review: The best Italian in the entire area. The dishes are simply great and varied. The waitresses are always very nice and very accommodating. The food is simply delicious and always beautifully prepared. We really enjoy going to Da Toni and we have never been disappointed. We are very happy that there is such a good Italian restaurant nearby. Always happy and five full stars with a thumbs up, cream on top and a cherry 🍒 on the side.

Very tasty food in a pleasant atmosphere with very friendly staff.

Disappointing pizza experience! I had high expectations when I ordered pizza from an Italian restaurant. Unfortunately, the disappointment was great. The first glance at the slice of pizza shows how burnt the dough is. The surface has several dark, almost black spots, which clearly indicate excessive heat or inattention during baking. The crust looks dry and hard, rather than light and airy like you would expect from a good Italian pizza. For a restaurant that claims to be “Italian”, this is really disappointing. I would have liked a crispy, golden brown base, juicy topping and authentic taste - unfortunately all I got here was coal.

45 minutes drive to arrive at 9:15 p.m. because according to the internet it should be open until 11:30 p.m. However, we were sent away on site because the kitchen apparently closes early. This should be communicated more clearly online. Definitely not recommended for travelers with a long journey.

Great service and friendly staff

Unfortunately, the toilet is difficult to reach for people with walking difficulties.

We picked up food here based on a friend's recommendation. I ordered the truffle pasta and my friend ordered a pizza. Everything tasted delicious. However, the portion of truffles was very manageable. At a price of over €30 you can actually expect more! I often eat truffle pasta and this was the most expensive in terms of price and had the least amount of truffle sprinkles.

Simply a wonderful evening that we were able to spend here. The food tasted great, whether it was schnitzel or salad or pizza, the long drinks are just as recommended, nice and tasty at the same time! We like to go here very often! Just great every time!

Just speechless... Top restaurant with a wonderful atmosphere to enjoy. Rarely have food been so good! Many starred cuisines can copy something here! From the friendly welcome to the very attentive service to a very warm farewell, we felt completely at home. I chose the restaurant at random because we were nearby and it won't be the last time we've been there. For this we are happy to travel 50 km again. Service nice friendly helpful perfect service. Food is perfect as always. As a butcher I can rate it well and always have high standards and if it isn't perfect you have to address it. I have never been disappointed in this house. The customer is welcome here. We, my whole family, which is quite large, have always felt welcome for many years. We were in Altenstadt for the first time in many years. Of course a visit to Toni was mandatory. Unfortunately we weren't allowed to sit outside because the awning was apparently leaking, but overall it was very nice there. We ate pizza...

Very nice, you get a holiday feeling on the terrace. The restorante is in a side street. (No signs or anything similar) But very well attended, speaks for itself.

I really like the menu. There are completely different ingredients and combinations in both pizza and pasta than usual in many restaurants.

Food, service and staff are always top!

In December 2023 we celebrated our company Christmas party there. We were all very satisfied. We recently had a private meal there. Since my partner is always very skeptical about restaurants, I was curious to see whether the quality would continue to be so good. We were very satisfied after the meal. The quality of the food, whether pizza or beef fillet, was great. The service was super friendly and competent. We will come back in any case.

What an Italian restaurant, very very good. The food is indescribable and the service is family friendly. I've never eaten lasagna like this!

Addendum: Unfortunately the quality has deteriorated significantly. The dough wasn't cooked through, the pizza tasted very bland, it's a shame.

I haven't had such good food in a long time. The selection is great Prepared, great! Taste, an explosion!! Everything was fine. The times between each course were perfect. If you want to treat yourself to something good... I can only recommend this restaurant. Conditions also very very accommodating. A wonderful evening, thank you.

Very friendly and trained staff. The boss takes the order for 18 guests with extra requests without making a note. This means he could easily appear in bets! We went there for dinner for the first time two weeks ago and were immediately amazed. Super delicious food, friendly staff and even though it was very busy, we never had to wait long! Simply TOP, we made reservations again the following week because we were so excited! Absolute recommendation!

Very tasty food. A small menu but the taste is very good and the portions are filling. The waitresses are also very friendly. Addendum: I was a guest here again. The waiting time was a little longer, but this was understandable and not annoying due to the very busy restaurant. The food was phenomenal. The steak was perfectly cooked and had great flavor and texture. This is what you get in very few steak houses. The conditions were again very good this time. Not intrusive, yet attentive and very nice.

Also wirklich einfach nur WOW. Ich persönlich war da zum erstenmal Essen, mein Mann vor 10 Jahren und es ist immernoch unfassbar gut da! Eine Geschmacksexplosion. Einfach nur eine Hammer Qualität und alle sind unfassbar Freundlich! Das Steak war auf den Punkt genau gegart! Butterzart, saftig und einfach nur lecker. Ich hatte die Nudeln die im Käserad serviert werden mit Trüffel. Ein Traum! Ich kann es wirklich allen Empfehlen die auf gut Qualität wert legen. Inzwischen waren wir 3x jetzt da, 1x mit der Familie und alle sind begeistert!
