Restaurant "Zum Hecker" in Diez

-- Only understandable if you understand irony and sarcasm -- Thursday evening You're in a great mood and the weather is phenomenal. The sun is shining, the kids are laughing, but the waiter/owner isn't. Okay, he has to work ☝️ That can make you stop laughing, just like his guests at dinner 🥴 After all, he had two tables full (4 people) and then we two joined them 😳 On a holiday. What are we even thinking? The initial shame of our audacity passed, and we got the menu. Friendly as you know him, he took our order. The drinks came quickly, and one of the two was even the right one 👍 So you have to give him credit for one thing: the food arrived really quickly. Okay, only one thing was right there, but who wants a Wiener Schnitzel with potatoes when they can have overpriced chicken strips? Right! No one. Since you shouldn't waste food, you accept it and then simply change your mind. It wasn't bad, but we didn't know the price yet 🙈 And as you can probably guess, he offered a special price. I had to pay €2.50 more than it would have normally cost, but €1.50 less than the schnitzel would have cost 🥳 How great is that? 😍 The wheat beer, which we didn't order, cost just a little over €5. Considering we didn't order it at all, that's a real bargain 🥰 Unfortunately, we didn't get a receipt, but what could have been wrong with that? 😜 So if you're up for trying something new, shelling out a lot of money for it, and want to meet a really unfriendly restaurateur, then a visit to this "experience restaurant" is definitely worth it 👍

We spent a week at this hotel. The hotel isn't brand new, but the rooms are very clean (and that's what matters!!) and are cleaned daily. The mattresses weren't saggy, but pleasantly firm. Our room was located near the main entrance and was very quiet; we were truly impressed by the silence at night. We didn't even hear our neighbors. The breakfast was excellent, and the food in the restaurant was varied. The staff was always friendly and helpful. There's a secure bicycle storage room. Great value for money. We'd be happy to come back anytime! Highly recommended. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Hotel is a little old. Renovation would be necessary. Breakfast is good! Service at breakfast good. Room service needs to be better.

Two of us came for breakfast. The ambiance is very nice. Very bright and the half-timbered building is beautiful. The breakfasts were lovingly prepared and very generous. The value for money is excellent. We will definitely be back.
