Restaurant Zum Farmer in Oldenburg in Holstein

We had two very good meals at this restaurant. Once with a reservation on the weekend, and once during the week without a reservation. Friendly, attentive staff. The menu offers a great selection, leaving nothing to be desired.

I give the restaurant five stars. We were there with four adults and two children. We received a friendly welcome, and the children were given art supplies after being assigned a table. The restaurant was busy, the food took a while to arrive, and we were not disappointed! The food was fresh, plentiful, and served hot. And to top it all off, the staff love their jobs. We'll be happy to come back.

An excellent local restaurant with enough food to more than fill you up. They sometimes offer specials like roast pig or exceptional fish. Make sure you make a reservation. It's very busy.

Starting with the menu discussion with the boss before the party, where all wishes were taken into account, to the pretty table decorations and the really delicious food, which all my guests were thrilled with. The service was very attentive and friendly. We can definitely recommend the restaurant!

We spent a few days in the Weissenhäuser Strand complex and wanted to go to a restaurant outside of the complex because we didn't find the price/performance ratio there good. We then came across this restaurant. We were there with five people. The restaurant makes a clean and cozy impression. We were served very quickly and friendly. All dishes (including starters) were tasty, especially the main courses were generous and filled you up very well. Drinks always came quickly. The child-friendliness is also very noteworthy, our son was the first to get his portion and he was even given children's cutlery. We will definitely come back to this restaurant on our next visit to Weissenhäuser Strand!

Rustic pre-reversal atmosphere with friendly service. Food was at the table quickly and tasted extremely good. Portions were very rich. You should definitely eat the baked onion soup! We would definitely come again.

We wanted a good German meal. This is what we got. The service was great. And the food was very tasty and plentiful. Our special requests for the children were addressed immediately and implemented perfectly.

Unfortunately the food wasn't good. We went to the crime thriller dinner with a three-course menu on February 11, 2025 in the restaurant. The first course, a soup, tasted okay, but it felt like it was simply intended to use up leftovers. The main course wasn't particularly convincing either. Dessert was the low point – simply scary. Overall, the food didn't support the atmosphere of the crime dinner, which was very disappointing. There is definitely still a lot of room for improvement here.

At least 1 hour waiting time for the food. The fries were completely soaked in frying grease. But the portion size was ok.

You can't eat better. Typical German home cooking! If you want that, you've come to the right place. We'll be back. We've been coming to Weissenhäuser since 2009 and have never been there before. If we had known that...

I've known this restaurant since my childhood. And I'm happy that it's still open, even though it's under new management. The food is delicious and the value for money is good. The staff is always very friendly and makes every effort to get a table even if you haven't made a reservation. There's something for every taste. We'll definitely be back.

This time we went to the schnitzel buffet in the “Zum Farmer” restaurant. The buffet includes starter (salad, soup), main course (various schnitzels - pork, chicken, breaded, natural, cordon bleu, meatballs; various side dishes - fried potatoes, croquettes, rice; vegetables - beans, pumpkin, braised cabbage, etc.) and three various desserts. Friendly service, very tasty and great selection, cozy atmosphere

The food was fine but unbelievably slow serving. We waited about 1.5 hours for 4 schnitzels without anyone coming to tell us that there was unfortunately a wait. However, we got the drinks at the house's expense after some discussion

Wanted to go to the Farmer restaurant for dinner on October 26th, 2024. Have made a reservation for 7 p.m. Afterwards we ordered the drinks and food and waited. After an hour and 15 minutes we asked the waiter how long it would take. We were very upset about the long wait. The waiter said it would definitely take at least 15 minutes. We then considered whether we shouldn't go. After he asked in the kitchen for the second time, the answer came again that everything would take a little longer due to a large company in the next room. Our table neighbors also had to wait so long and were also annoyed. We then said that compensation for the long wait would be appropriate. We were then expelled from the restaurant by the waiter. I doubt whether he even had the competence to do so. We walked out of the restaurant gracefully without causing too much of a stir. Had held festivities at Farmer's in the past. From now on it's over. My conclusion after the evening... .a restaurant that is not recommended.

Fantastic. The best pork medallion in mushroom sauce I have ever eaten. The cordon bleu is also simply fantastic. The ambience is great and very private. The staff are very friendly and try hard. Thank you here too. Definitely coming back and definitely recommended.

We went to the schnitzel buffet yesterday! It was really delicious and great. I haven't experienced such a selection in a long time. Starter, rich buffet and then dessert. Bugfett is probably only Thursday? But I can highly recommend it.

Hyggelig restaurant med mad der laves fra bunden. Fruen fik kyllingebryst med grøntsager og pommes lækker veltilberedt og godt krydret. Jeg fik helstegt rødspætte. Dejlig smørstegt og sprød , tilberedt lige tilpas. Nærværende servering og ro. Vi kone ved åbningstid 1700 og der var der god plads. Så vi kørte forbi noget senere var parkeringspladsen fuld. Så tænker det kan være en god ide at bestille bord. Vi kigger gerne ind igen en anden gang.

Had dinner with dear friends today. 2 x a super tender and juicy suckling pig, 2 x according to the menu. Cooked to perfection as usual and very tasty. The service was friendly, attentive and very quick. Despite the different orders, the dishes were perfectly timed. And the rosé wine is absolutely fantastic. Eating here is not to be missed. I am only too happy to recommend this restaurant.

Since I was only invited to one event where the food was prepared, I can only say something about that. The soup we had was very delicious and flavorful. So I'm guessing that the other food will be very good too. Only that the service (waiters) spoke little German. Therefore fewer stars. But overall recommended.

The highlight of our vacation. We were there twice, once at lunchtime and once in the early evening. Both times it was well attended. We were allowed to take three small dogs with us and were immediately given water for them. The food was wonderful, fresh and perfectly balanced. The hollandaise was perfect. My personal highlight was also that there was dessert. That's not so common these days. But I would like to emphasize once again the friendly, courteous and competent service. It's great when you meet people who enjoy their work. We will be back definitely.

What a great kitchen is hidden in this rather inconspicuous spot! We had dinner here, with onion and crab soup first. Afterwards we had a really star-worthy steak and a wonderful herring feast. Apart from the fact that the service is super attentive and extremely friendly and the wine list is also impressive, the food really blows you away. The ambience is perhaps a little reminiscent of times gone by - innovation, modernity and the best quality are definitely on the menu in the kitchen. If you are traveling towards Weissenhäuser Strand or coming back from there, you should ABSOLUTELY make a stop at the farmer!

Very tasty and plentiful food, the furnishings are a bit older but that doesn't bother you. Like elsewhere, staff are easily overwhelmed because there are not enough of them. Otherwise you can recommend it well.

Called before the start of our vacation and asked for a table in the evening for our wedding. Until then, very friendly and requests were taken into account. On our day we went there in the evening, we were shown to our table - which was very nicely decorated by the way, thank you for that! - and from start to finish the boss (?) was really very personable and attentive. It's a shame that the 'Farmer' is so sparsely attended at times that a decision is made at short notice whether to open. Absolute recommendation! The food is really delicious!

The Suckling Pig Satt meal on Friday is fantastic. There is as much meat and rind as you can manage. The sauerkraut and potato salad are not only homemade but also as delicious as they once were at your mother's. The quality of the dishes on the menu will certainly match the overall impression of the restaurant. An insider tip is the locally baked bread, which is available irregularly on a few Saturdays a year. It's worth inquiring about the next appointment if you're in the area.

Prices, even for “simple” dishes, are quite expensive in my opinion at €19.20.

The food good. The waiting time is a bit too long. As we found out during the conversation, two sick leaves. Which explains the slightly too long waiting time.

Am vergangenen Samstag war ich als Gast auf dem Geburtstag meines Vaters in den "Farmer" eingeladen. Ich war das erste Mal dort. Direkt aufgefallen ist der super freundliche und schnelle Service. Die Auswahl der Gerichte ist super und auch an die Jahreszeiten angepasst. Größe der Portionen, Anrichtung und Geschmack waren hervorragend und absolut empfehlenswert. Waren gestern Abend mit 6 Personen dort essen und waren alle begeistert. Ente, Wild, Fisch und Filet alles sehr lecker. Freundliches und aufmerksames Personal. Kommen gerne wieder.

Das Essen immer wieder sehr lecker und reichlich. Das Team ist sehr freundlich und auf zack. Das Ambiente ist sehr in die Jahre gekommen und ich persönlich finde diese Sitzbänke nicht mehr zeitgemäß. Es wirkt alles sehr eng. Die verschiedenen Aktionen "Schnitzelbuffet", "Barbecue" und "Spanferkel" kommen gut an. Wir saßen direkt seitlich am Tresen und die Chefin hat die ganze Zeit telefoniert und Termine koordiniert. Solche Aufgaben müssen in einem Büro oder ähnlichen gemacht werden, gerade weil es sehr laut im Hintergrund ist und auch uns als Gast gestört hat.

Wir waren gestern erstmals hier und sind sehr angetan. Die Gerichte sind qualitativ gut portioniert und preislich interessant. Es sind reichlich Parkplätze vorhanden und die Mitarbeiter waren freundlich und präsent, hier ist man wirklich willkommen., wir kommen wieder 👍unbedingt Tisch reservieren auch im Winter.

Sind zu 3 (2 Erwachsene, 1Kind ) ganz spontan beim "Zum Farmer" eingekehrt.Hatten vorab kein Tisch reserviert. Wir wurden sehr freundlich begrüßt und zu einem freien Tisch begleitet. Wir bestellten und das Essen wurde sehr zügig gebracht. Was soll ich sagen.....das Essen war wirklich super ! Uns hat es allen 3 geschmeckt.Selbst meinem Sohn.Das soll was heißen... Service war sehr aufmerksam. Hatten ein Essen für 28 Personen vorbestellt. Wurden im ganzen Raum an 4 Tischen verteilt. Schade, wir wollten gemeinsam Essen und plaudern. Eine einfache U- förmige Aufstellung der Tische wäre sehr schön gewesen. Das Essen war mir zu fade. Schnitzelbuffet brauch ich beim Farmer auf gar keinen Fall wieder. Das Essen erinnert mich an eine Kantine. Schade zumal der Preis nicht "klein" war.

Wir kehren hier jedes Jahr ein wenn wir an der Ostsee sind. Absolut zu empfehlen, ich bevorzuge die Freitage da gibt es Spanferkel.
