Beautifully situated on Lake Constance. Next door is the Graf Zeppelin House. Beautiful lakeside promenade. All the way to the Zeppelin Museum.

The ambiance was very nice and located almost directly on the lake. The prices were high, in keeping with the region and the location. If the price had reflected the value for money, that would have been acceptable for this hotspot. Unfortunately, I have to say that the portion size was not good. For my main course, I chose the Käsespätzle because of its regional origins. For a small surcharge, I had the Käsespätzle with ham. Everyone else who ordered Käsespätzle received a salad beforehand. Because of my surcharge and the ham option, I didn't receive a salad beforehand. This irritated me, and when I asked why, I was left unanswered, only to be confirmed that it was true. Strange. Furthermore, my portion of Käsespätzle was a good side dish, but significantly too small for a main course. Even the salad beforehand (if there had been one) wouldn't have made up for it. The Spätzle tasted good, though. A companion had ordered pasta, and when the pasta was handed over, she asked for Parmesan cheese. "Coming right away" was the reply. After a good seven minutes and a half-empty plate, we asked again. "Coming right away" was the reply. When the plate was almost empty, the Parmesan cheese arrived after another seven to ten minutes. The restaurant wasn't overcrowded. All in all, it was rather disappointing for me.

We ate here twice during our vacation, and both visits were simply fantastic! The dishes were prepared with fresh, high-quality ingredients and tasted amazing across the board. The service was attentive, warm, and always friendly – ​​we immediately felt welcome. Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable experience where everything was just right. We are extremely satisfied and can absolutely recommend this restaurant!

The two of us went to the Kommodore for dinner. To be on the safe side, I called at lunchtime and reserved a table. When we arrived, it looked like there were still plenty of free tables available. However, they filled up very quickly, and we were glad we had made a reservation. We were shown to a very nice, free table. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The menus were handed to us open (not just slapped down on the table). The menu is very varied. The food arrived very quickly. The dishes were very good and plentiful. Payment by credit card (by watch) worked perfectly. This restaurant is highly recommended.

Great restaurant near the lake. We had dinner with friends and were very satisfied. We shared a salad and a large 45cm pizza between two people. I have to say, the pizza was really delicious and well-topped; it would also be good for three people. The staff was very friendly and accommodating...👍👍🍕When the weather is nice, you can sit outside. The prices aren't cheap, but that makes up for the quality. We'd be happy to go back...👍😉😊

We originally stopped by just for a drink, but after seeing the delicious food being served around us, we decided to stay for a meal. We had been craving pizza for a few days, so we went for it. The flavors were excellent, the service was fast and attentive, and the place had a pleasant and comfortable atmosphere. Overall, it was a great experience. I felt relaxed and well taken care of, and I would definitely come back.

The table was OK and big enough. Ordering was very quick, and the food was truly exceptional. I ordered the Commodore pizza. How can I put it... simply perfect. The Thai curry with chicken was amazing, and the wine matched the overall concept. Worth a visit. I would say this is a place where you'll be happy to be pampered. The price is OK, but justified by the service. PS: Reserving a table may not be necessary, but it makes it easier for the staff to seat you.

I gave the restaurant a truthful review three years ago based on a very bad personal experience – not a good one, of course, because the experience was simply terrible. This started right from the time I made the reservation. At the time, the owner also commented on it, questioning my credibility and calling me a liar. Today I was informed that Google had removed my review. Unfortunately, some people can't handle criticism and thus falsify their reviews. Tip: Take criticism seriously and consider what you can do to reduce the number of reviews. You've definitely lost me as a guest, and I love telling this story about what happened back then :)

I had reserved a table for 7 people and 1 child on the terrace for 5:30 p.m. on June 28, 2025. This was confirmed by email on June 17, 2025. When we arrived, none of the staff knew about the reservation. That's unacceptable. If we had arrived later, we wouldn't have been able to get a seat and would have had to sit inside in the heat. Otherwise: very friendly service and good food.

For this food and this service, I'm happy to give it 5 stars! The tender ox cheeks and crisp vegetables were so delicious, you'd skip the mashed potatoes... Top-notch restaurant, and thanks for the tip about Lukullum in Friedrichshafen.

The food was quite good. Ordered a seafood soup and main dish. Upon payment I offered 10% tip for the server, but she added over 18%. That is the reason for the 2*, otherwise it would easily be a 5* review.

We've been coming to our favorite restaurant, Kommodore, regularly for years and have always been impressed by the quality of the food, the impeccable and friendly service, and the wonderful atmosphere. Unfortunately, during our last visit a few days ago, we discovered that the portion sizes of our three main courses had decreased significantly. Please reconsider this policy.

The service was attentive, friendly, and professional. Although the restaurant was busy, we were served promptly and felt welcome at all times. The prices of €20–30 per person are absolutely justified considering the quality, location, and service. Another plus point: The option to reserve a table online via the website is easy and convenient. For me, this is a clear favorite in Friedrichshafen – I'll definitely be back.

We were guests at a wedding party. Even though we ate à la carte, the food came to the table for everyone at the same time. What should be highlighted is the very competent and friendly staff. The service was prompt and attentive. With a wide selection of dishes, there was something for everyone, both Swabian and Italian cuisine. There was also a day ticket. In keeping with the occasion, we felt comfortable in the modern ambience. We'll definitely be back! 👍🏻

Very good food, top location especially during the day and in summer

The chef should stay away from game dishes and spaetzla, unfortunately he has no idea about that. The venison ragout was completely bland, the sauce and meat had no game flavor, no game stock, no red wine and no game spices. The consistency of the meat was like ready meals. I'm even guessing that it was a ready meal or convenience product from the metro. The meat portion or the amount of meat was a bad joke. The Spätzla or whatever they were were an imposition! Does the chef actually try his own food before he serves it? I would be happy to show him how to prepare venison, roe deer and wild boar, or just do some research on the internet. The mostly good reviews here are incomprehensible to me.

French fries were in over-fried oil (. However, the pizza is very tasty. That's why we went there. The waiters are also too arrogant. They judge by the way you are dressed and the attitude is not very friendly. The view of the lake is incredible, it's true. In winter and in good weather, it is simply impossible to take your eyes off the mountains. More expensive than other restaurants nearby.

We had our group dinner with project partners here. I ordered Grilled Salmon with pesto sauce and pasta. The food was tasty but the price and amount were not. Service was nice, I have to say but still. It is just another normal overpriced restaurant. You do not get an amazing lake view either.

During a week and a half vacation in Friedrichshafen and the surrounding area, we ate at Kommodore four times (a total of 8 different dishes and one antipasti). The food was always good or very good, the service was attentive - otherwise we wouldn't have been here so often. The location with a view of the marina and Lake Constance is nice, especially if you can still sit outside (depending on the weather). We would definitely come back if we stayed in the Friedrichshafen area again.

Simply brilliant, we felt very comfortable. Very good value for money for Friedrichshafen. The food was great and my allergies were taken into account (which is not a given). I also had the best lillet I've ever had. The atmosphere is very inviting and invites you to linger.
