We originally stopped by just for a drink, but after seeing the delicious food being served around us, we decided to stay for a meal. We had been craving pizza for a few days, so we went for it. The flavors were excellent, the service was fast and attentive, and the place had a pleasant and comfortable atmosphere. Overall, it was a great experience. I felt relaxed and well taken care of, and I would definitely come back.

The table was OK and big enough. Ordering was very quick, and the food was truly exceptional. I ordered the Commodore pizza. How can I put it... simply perfect. The Thai curry with chicken was amazing, and the wine matched the overall concept. Worth a visit. I would say this is a place where you'll be happy to be pampered. The price is OK, but justified by the service. PS: Reserving a table may not be necessary, but it makes it easier for the staff to seat you.

I gave the restaurant a truthful review three years ago based on a very bad personal experience – not a good one, of course, because the experience was simply terrible. This started right from the time I made the reservation. At the time, the owner also commented on it, questioning my credibility and calling me a liar. Today I was informed that Google had removed my review. Unfortunately, some people can't handle criticism and thus falsify their reviews. Tip: Take criticism seriously and consider what you can do to reduce the number of reviews. You've definitely lost me as a guest, and I love telling this story about what happened back then :)

I had reserved a table for 7 people and 1 child on the terrace for 5:30 p.m. on June 28, 2025. This was confirmed by email on June 17, 2025. When we arrived, none of the staff knew about the reservation. That's unacceptable. If we had arrived later, we wouldn't have been able to get a seat and would have had to sit inside in the heat. Otherwise: very friendly service and good food.

For this food and this service, I'm happy to give it 5 stars! The tender ox cheeks and crisp vegetables were so delicious, you'd skip the mashed potatoes... Top-notch restaurant, and thanks for the tip about Lukullum in Friedrichshafen.

The food was quite good. Ordered a seafood soup and main dish. Upon payment I offered 10% tip for the server, but she added over 18%. That is the reason for the 2*, otherwise it would easily be a 5* review.

We've been coming to our favorite restaurant, Kommodore, regularly for years and have always been impressed by the quality of the food, the impeccable and friendly service, and the wonderful atmosphere. Unfortunately, during our last visit a few days ago, we discovered that the portion sizes of our three main courses had decreased significantly. Please reconsider this policy.

From the moment you enter, you're greeted by a maritime flair: stylishly decorated interiors with seafaring images and elements, as well as a spacious outdoor terrace with a magnificent view of the water. Ideal for balmy summer evenings or a relaxed lunch with friends. The menu is varied and offers Mediterranean cuisine with a focus on fish and seafood. I particularly recommend the grilled zander fillet with herb potatoes – cooked to perfection, fresh, and lovingly prepared. The homemade pizza also impresses with its crispy base and high-quality ingredients. There are also good options for vegetarians, which I highly value. The service was attentive, friendly, and professional. Although the restaurant was busy, we were served promptly and felt welcome at all times. The prices of €20–30 per person are absolutely justified considering the quality, location, and service. Another plus point: The option to reserve a table online via the website is easy and convenient. For me, this is a clear favorite in Friedrichshafen – I'll definitely be back.

We ate at Kommodore yesterday and it was amazing! Knowing it was very popular, we reserved a table a few days in advance, which worked out really well. The food was absolutely delicious 😍 Great atmosphere right on the harbor, really beautiful. The service was excellent. The staff were a joy to work with, very accommodating and polite. Excellent food, very friendly service

We were guests at a wedding party. Even though we ate à la carte, the food came to the table for everyone at the same time. What should be highlighted is the very competent and friendly staff. The service was prompt and attentive. With a wide selection of dishes, there was something for everyone, both Swabian and Italian cuisine. There was also a day ticket. In keeping with the occasion, we felt comfortable in the modern ambience. We'll definitely be back! 👍🏻

Quite normal dishes, but I found it too expensive for the quality. The service was attentive, quick and friendly; we didn't have to wait long for the food. You can also enjoy the Alpine view and the beautiful lake!

Very good food, top location especially during the day and in summer

The chef should stay away from game dishes and spaetzla, unfortunately he has no idea about that. The venison ragout was completely bland, the sauce and meat had no game flavor, no game stock, no red wine and no game spices. The consistency of the meat was like ready meals. I'm even guessing that it was a ready meal or convenience product from the metro. The meat portion or the amount of meat was a bad joke. The Spätzla or whatever they were were an imposition! Does the chef actually try his own food before he serves it? I would be happy to show him how to prepare venison, roe deer and wild boar, or just do some research on the internet. The mostly good reviews here are incomprehensible to me.

French fries were in over-fried oil (. However, the pizza is very tasty. That's why we went there. The waiters are also too arrogant. They judge by the way you are dressed and the attitude is not very friendly. The view of the lake is incredible, it's true. In winter and in good weather, it is simply impossible to take your eyes off the mountains. More expensive than other restaurants nearby.

Pizza excellent. Not exactly cheap but if it's good you're happy to pay a little more. Staff super friendly and attentive. 🤤

Clubhouse of a sailing club and public inn. Ate there on 2 evenings with a group of 12 people. Very hard-working and friendly staff. The kitchen and service coped well with the large crowds (full house both evenings).

We wanted to have dinner again on the shores of Lake Constance. The food was good, Rustic and quick on the table despite being busy. My chicken fillet schnitzel was a bit too dry. Salad and pasta with mushroom cream sauce was ok

We had our group dinner with project partners here. I ordered Grilled Salmon with pesto sauce and pasta. The food was tasty but the price and amount were not. Service was nice, I have to say but still. It is just another normal overpriced restaurant. You do not get an amazing lake view either.

During a week and a half vacation in Friedrichshafen and the surrounding area, we ate at Kommodore four times (a total of 8 different dishes and one antipasti). The food was always good or very good, the service was attentive - otherwise we wouldn't have been here so often. The location with a view of the marina and Lake Constance is nice, especially if you can still sit outside (depending on the weather). We would definitely come back if we stayed in the Friedrichshafen area again.

Simply brilliant, we felt very comfortable. Very good value for money for Friedrichshafen. The food was great and my allergies were taken into account (which is not a given). I also had the best lillet I've ever had. The atmosphere is very inviting and invites you to linger.

German kitchen does not exist same as German cooks ! This was catastrophic experience on Bodensee. Who can give 5* to this restaurant? Pizza is not pizza…. Beef and fish were horrible! 40€ per person is the price of the menu in Cannes and Nice. Overpriced !!

Upgrading my review. Took a chance and ate a second time and we had a different server. Excellent service and again the food was excellent. We vacationed all across Switzerland for a week and stayed and ate at six different places in Friedrichshafen for over a week. My wife and I felt that the Kommodore had the best food out of all the places we ate at. Highly recommend this restaurant. First off let me say the food was excellent. That being sais we had a waitress who we tried translating with asking for food. She was not very pleasant and was very rude after we finished our meal, she asked us if we were finished and we said yes, but it tool 30 minutes before I could catch her and politely ask for the check. Her look/response she gave me was very rude. It is the first time in my life since I also worked as a waiter over 30 years ago that I never left a tip. There was a another waiter, young man, who spoke English and was very polite and professional. Look, I get it, she might have been nervous because she could not speak English, and she was very busy and was probably stressed; However, we were using Google translate for specific ordering questions and we were taking our time when communicating with her. As a waiter/waitress it is your job to add value for the customers by providing a service that makes the customer feel good about spending money at a restaurant for special occasions or when on vacation (customers are escaping busy work lives and want to have a good experience). So this waitress needs to do better or maybe rethink the line of work she is in and maybe switch to another job where she does not have to interact with tourists.

I've been here twice. European pizza is a little too salty for Japanese people (not bad), but one of the menu items here, a salad with an omelet, was delicious. It's right in front of the beach and the haunted house across the street is hilarious.

Beautiful sunny day, delicious food, plentiful and good, local beer, very good. The lady who served us was a very nice person. Kind regards. If I ever visit again, I will definitely go there to eat.

To be honest, the previous 5⭐️ recessions are a bit of a mystery to me. Consistent praise for food and drink!? In terms of price, it's in the upper segment, but not that good. I've eaten worse, but I've also often eaten much better.

Way too expensive. The taste is mostly ok. Pizza is good, but unfortunately they can't make spaetzle. The lunch menu is a disgrace. Bolognese lasagne was garnished with about 20 grams of minced meat. It was very reminiscent of canned ravioli.

We visited the restaurant because of the location and the great reviews and we were very satisfied! The service is very, very quick, it only took a few minutes until we could order and the drinks were delivered, as was clearing up and paying. The meal took less than 15 minutes. As you can see in the picture, the portions are definitely sufficient, we paid around €55 for two shandy 0.5l, two main courses and a dessert. We'd love to come back!

We were traveling with the toddler. We were seated in the small hall, to the left of the entrance. Food arrived within minutes of ordering. Staff very attentive. The candle at the table was also lit for us. We really enjoyed everything. Gladly again!

Good location directly at the Graf Zeppelin-Haus underground car park and opposite the WYC marina. You can sit very nicely inside and outside. Very fast and good service. The range of food and quality is also very good.

Amazing food service and location

Food quite good. Which was really a bit opaque - on the lunch menu there were three pizzas between 11.90 and 13.70 euros, which were served with a small salad. For our daughter we asked for a margarita pizza, the basic form of pizza, cheaper than all the others. Here it was more expensive than others (12.90) and there was no salad either.

The dishes offered are good and plentiful. Mixed choice Germans and Italian and international. Order taken and 15 minutes later we were served, really well done to the kitchen and service. Lakeside restaurant. I recommend it.
