I will try schnitzel next time..

Everything was great, nice atmosphere, clean restrooms. The fries weren't quite my cup of tea, and the schnitzel was a bit crispy, but still good. Hence 4 stars. The service was also very friendly. The prices were great, too. Overall, a 5-star rating.

I really enjoyed it here. The food is very good and plentiful, and the price/performance ratio is more than justified. The ambiance is quaint but very appealing. All in all, a pleasant place to linger.

The supposed veal schnitzel was tough, riddled with tendons, cooked too long in fat that was no longer fresh; not in butter; fried or, even worse, deep-fried. The breading wasn't great either, probably pre-made batter from a wholesale store. It wasn't well seasoned either. We also reported this to the staff, but there was no response. We probably won't eat there again in the future.

Doesn't maintain its website. It says "open" here, but it's actually closed for vacation. Unnecessary trip. Annoying!

Soooo delicious!!! We were there with the whole family and had Schäufle (pork shoulder), which had incredibly tender, delicious meat and a wonderfully crispy crust. The Wiener Schnitzel and the turkey schnitzel were also delicious. The cucumber and potato salad was absolutely amazing 🤤, and the Obazda (traditional Austrian sausage) was fantastic! Highly recommended!!!

The food is a dream, even though it's remarkably rare for the measuring line to be wet, I was very satisfied with the price, food, and drink and can only give it five stars. Reservations are recommended, depending on the day. 0.5l Helles beer €3.90; pork shoulder with potato dumplings €17.50; Williams pear €3.80 (as of June 25)

Nice pub. Friendly and quick service, good Bavarian cuisine at fair prices. The beer (Kübach) is also delicious and served at the perfect temperature. I got my abandoned cycling vest back without any problems on my next visit – thank you.

The service was excellent and very friendly. The food tasted very good and was plentiful, and the prices were reasonable. The other guests' food also looked very appealing and smelled delicious. Mr. J. Stief's restaurant is definitely highly recommended.

We wanted to have a nice day with a motorcycle tour to Schrobenhausen to eat asparagus. Everything went great, nice weather and hardly any traffic. The whole thing was only surpassed by the very good food. We'd love to come back

Super real Wiener Schnitzel perfect potato salad

Typical Bavarian gasthaus with wooden interiors and tables outside under umbrellas (my umbrella was from Augustiner, like the beer I had). I tasted the pork cordon bleu stuffed with ham and cheese accompanied by boiled potatoes and white asparagus (a specialty of the area, there is also a museum). All very good, including beer. The two waitresses who were in charge of outside service were both kind and smiling even if they were constantly in a rush. It's definitely worth it!

We wanted to sit in the restaurant but were not allowed in. Even though it's opening time. And this isn't the first time. Although the restaurant is near me, I can't go there for the last time. It's terrible. Then why write down robot time and not work?!

I only shopped at the butcher shop and didn't eat at the inn. Small but good and fresh selection of sausages and meat products. Warm Leberkäs roll was good, with a little too salty.

Ich bin nicht überzeugt auch meine Verwandtschaft die Blut und Leberwurst schmeckt als wenn man zähes Fleisch oder Darmhülle mit untergemischt hat geschmacklich nicht der Hit auch das Mittagessen war nicht überragend . War fürs erste Mal sehr enttäuschend. Preislich war es sehr teuer für schlechte Qualität.

It is truly Bavarian, both in terms of location and also in terms of food. Service in traditional outfit. Fast service. Price performance is okay. There are enough parking spaces and a large smoking tent to sit or eat. Beer garden also okay covered with umbrellas. There is our own butcher shop, warm food to take away.

Were visiting Sohnemann and were initially invited to the inn. As "Prussians" we were thrilled by the ambience, the delicious food and drinks as well as the very nice staff. The next day we went to the butcher shop to get some things to take home. I have never bought such high-quality roulades that appeared to be perfectly cut with a laser sword. They did it immediately after the return trip, awesome!! Our conclusion: There are people working in the inn and butcher shop who are masters of their craft! Thank you very much, we will definitely be back.

Hearty meals, neatly prepared. The Bavarian specialties in particular are not neglected and there are portions that will fill you up even if you are hungry. The taste is flawless and impeccable. When the capacity is high, the friendly staff reach their limits - almost standard these days. The prices are reasonable, but at the increased level that has now arrived everywhere. The local beer is worth an honorable mention. There are plenty of parking spaces on site, the house is heavily frequented.

Delicious food, top service, free parking

The three of us had dinner here a while ago. The very dominant service wasn't exactly friendliness personified. The asparagus salad was very good, but expensive (€20 for a few thin spears). The warm asparagus with "Hollandaise-style" sauce was good, but the sauce came from a package. Anyone who charges prices like that should make the hollandaise fresh, that's not possible. The roast pork was well seasoned. However, we had just received our starter and the main course was already on the table. Impossible. In the end it was OK, but the price/performance and service clearly leave a lot to be desired. We certainly won't be coming back.

The schnitzel was very good, but due to a big mistake on my part I was given a salad. Due to the lack of accompaniment who would normally get rid of the salad in my place, I was forced to eat it against my eating habits. The drinks were also satisfactory and the staff was very friendly.

We were served the wrong side dishes, potato salad instead of boiled potatoes. The food was taken away by the staff. Afterwards we were served our food again with boiled potatoes. However, the meat was now cold. Here we would have expected that it would be brought to us fresh and hot again. In addition, the meat (veal schnitzel natural and breaded) was dry.

Direkt am Ortseingang liegend (von der B300 kommend) ist der Schimmelwirt eine erste Adresse im Schrobenhausen, wenn es in der Spargelzeit wieder viele Ausflügler in die Region zieht und man dann vor oder nach Besuch des Hofladens des Spargelanbauers seines Vertrauens eine ordentliche Mahlzeit zu sich nehmen möchte. Im "Schimmelwirt", wie der Gasthof und Metzgerei J. Stief allgemein genannt wird, gibt es ausgezeichneten Spargel in vielen Variationen in vernünftiger Preisgestaltung, verglichen mit unseren Preisen in München... Wobei man noch in Betracht ziehen muss, das hier die Anzahl der auf dem Teller liegenden Spargelstangen doch höher ist als üblicherweise in München. Und der Spargel vom Wirt täglich erntefrisch vom Hof abgeholt wird. Mehr an Spargel zu einem günstigen Preis...
