Restaurant Weickmannshöhe-Kroatische Küche in Landshut

Today was our first time at Restaurant Weickmannshöhe, and we were more than pleasantly surprised. As native Croatians, we were very curious about the food, and what can I say? It was absolutely delicious! The breaded calamari tasted like home, as did the tasty mixed grill. The meat was cooked to perfection, and the mixed salad was excellent. For dessert, we had three different kinds of palacinke, which were also fantastic. As soon as we're near Landshut again, we'll definitely be back at Restaurant Weickmannshöhe. Everything was great; the kitchen was probably completely renovated this year. Even with a full house, the food arrived very quickly.

I didn't know the previous tenant, but I can say that Ana and Ivan, as well as all the staff, are doing a fantastic job. The food was delicious, and the meat on the mixed grill was incredibly tender! I did need to add a little extra salt at times (personal preference), but when I asked, they immediately brought more.

We knew the restaurant from the previous owner and tried it after the change of ownership. The broth with pancakes was more of a vegetable broth with fewer pancakes. Pepper and salt weren't offered when we asked. The raznjici was very thin and therefore quite dry. The cevapcici were pale and lacked flavor. Coleslaw had to be ordered separately for €4.50. All in all, we were quite disappointed.

We were in Landshut for an exhibition and afterwards stopped at the Weichmannshöhe restaurant. We received a very warm welcome and were able to choose our own tables. The service was quick and friendly, the drinks arrived promptly, and so did the food. We ordered Croatian cuisine and were delighted. The food tasted fantastic. The veal on the mixed grill was cooked to perfection, the meat—simply everything—was perfect for both the eyes and the taste buds. Unfortunately, we live 100 km away. But it will be our first choice on our next visit to Landshut. One more important note: The restaurant has ample parking. A rarity in Landshut.

Attentive, friendly, and tidy staff. Unfortunately, the food didn't really impress us. It was generally lacking in seasoning. Whether it was the appetizer or the main course, it needed a lot of salt and pepper to improve the bland flavor. Great location! Sitting in the vaulted rooms has a cozy, intimate feel.

We ordered a grill platter for two people. The raznjici and the cevapcici were absolutely tasteless. The coleslaw that came with the platter was also lacking in seasoning. There was also no side spoon for putting rice, etc., on the dinner plate. The large side salad we ordered for €9.50! was a small salad at best. Our guests had a similar experience; theirs was the Croatian-style pizza bread. When I go out for Croatian food, I assume that typical local spices are used. Unfortunately, we were disappointed in that regard here. It's a shame. Food in Germany is getting more and more expensive; we just have to live with that. If the quality is good, I'm happy to pay the price. But there, the price-performance ratio is completely out of whack. That's why I'll never see this restaurant again.

I was there yesterday with a friend for the first time since the reopening. It's great to be able to enjoy authentic Croatian cuisine again. The restaurant looks very clean. For example, the restrooms and a glimpse into the kitchen and bar area. The food was very good, the portions were also good, and the service – Ana(!) – was very friendly and competent. The website is excellently designed. The menu is extensive. There's even something special for not just the little ones but also for seniors. The winter garden was well-attended during the week, and there were also guests sitting inside. Also not so common for Landshut: parking right in front of the restaurant. I'll be heading there with my family soon. A small note as constructive criticism: a 0.25 l Helles beer costs only a bit less than a regular half-liter. That doesn't really add up. But otherwise: highly recommended!

The food was delicious. We ordered liver and pljeskavica, and both were incredibly tasty. The portions were more than generous. The ambiance was excellent. The service was very attentive.

Not good – long wait times. We've been there twice, and both times it was bad! The previous restaurant was excellent, but they haven't reached this level by far! What a shame!

The quality of the food was not very good. The cevapcici had a rubbery consistency and were not particularly well seasoned. The meat on the skewers was extremely tough and almost impossible to cut. We pointed this out to a member of staff, who simply replied, "It's just pork." The two staff members were very friendly and clearly tried very hard. All in all, it was not a pleasant restaurant visit. The value for money here is definitely not good.

The quality can't be compared to the previous owner. What a shame...

We enjoyed our previous visits many times, and have already enjoyed fantastic meals three times with the new owners. Hardworking, friendly owners, very good food, and a pleasant atmosphere. We always enjoy coming back.

We enjoyed our stay there under the previous tenants. We continue to enjoy Croatian cuisine under the new tenants. The food is delicious and the service attentive. I'm already looking forward to the garden next summer.

Friendly and attentive, but the quality of the food was unacceptable for the price. I used to enjoy Weickmannshöhe, so you usually had to make a reservation, but that was due to the food's good reputation. So, after the change of management, I wanted to spend a nice evening for my birthday... Reservation, reception, service, sitting outside in the green... everything was fine... BUT unfortunately, I was very disappointed with the quality of the food. 5 cevapcici – judging by the consistency, they look like frozen goods – "served" on a large plate in a flatbread, without any side dishes/decorations (a few lettuce leaves would have been enough) with a mini bowl of ajvar (good) – too expensive at €12.90... Grilled plate...€24.90...2 cevapcici (see above), small chicken breast fillet (good, but why only half?), pork skewer and steak (the meat was flimsy), veal liver (a bit dry but still OK), djuvec rice, and potato wedges (fried) good. Please definitely work on the quality, otherwise your good reputation will soon be history.

What a shame. What a shame. We were regulars at the old proprietor's. The plescavizca was rubbery, pressed meat, and the rice tasted of nothing. Far too little ayvar. We won't be coming back.

This was the second time I've eaten at this restaurant since the change of tenant. The first time, I had cevapcici with my meal. Recently, when we were there again, I had the same thing again, but this time the cevapcici were a convenience product, completely rubbery in texture, still raw inside, and tasted abysmal. I'm really sorry that you're constantly being compared to the previous tenant, but the fact is that the food has deteriorated considerably, which is why we won't be coming back. The service is friendly and attentive, but that doesn't save the food. You can also tell from the parking lot occupancy that the restaurant isn't as popular anymore.

We were at the restaurant around 4 p.m. when it was a bit quieter and less busy. The food was delicious, and the portions were large enough to fill you up. The pork roulade with homemade sauce was a real highlight. The salmon fillet and pizza are also highly recommended. If you like Balkan food, this is the place for you. We'd love to come back.

Because it was sooo good, I've been there a second time since it reopened. I'm thrilled! You can tell right away that everything here is freshly made.

Tried cevapcici after the change of ownership in 2025. They now serve fries instead of coleslaw and ayvar instead of the fresh onion sauce. And the cevapcici have lost about 50% of their mass. I ordered 5 when I was asked if I could order 5 or 10, and I'm full with the 5 pieces thanks to the other side dishes. The food before was excellent, but now it's more like OK, with some room for improvement.

For me, no longer a Croatian restaurant. They serve more pizzas than anything else. They don't even make the sauce from scratch anymore. Ajvar comes from a jar. What a shame.

Today, four of us dined at the newly opened Weikmannshöhe restaurant! Unfortunately, we found that the food, both in terms of taste (the meat was very tough and all the main courses weren't warm enough), and in terms of portion sizes, was nowhere near the quality of the previous restaurant. The salad dressing also tasted rather bland. Even though there weren't many customers, we had to wait a relatively long time for our drinks and food. It's a real shame; for us, this restaurant isn't a viable alternative to its predecessors.

The previous owner of the restaurant was really good and the food was always delicious. But this time I'm disappointed. I hope they get their act together. Hence only two stars.

My first and last experience...is more than horrible...it's obvious that the new owners don't care at all...and to make matters worse, despite the fact that we are "ours", we got a rejection.... Google says that the restaurant is open until 10:00 PM...my wife and I arrived at 8:57 PM and went to sit on the terrace...with the intention of eating something quick...like kebabs or burgers and moving on because we were in a bit of a hurry...the waitress welcomes us, we greet her in our language and let her know that we are "ours"...and that we want to eat anything...so as not to disrupt the restaurant's working hours, however, she tells us that the kitchen is open until 9:00 PM...so when she saw what time it was, she corrected it to 8:30 PM...which in translation means that the kitchen is open or not open until when they want.... You could also have written on Google that the kitchen is open until then and then...then we wouldn't have came...mostly this has nothing to do with the catering industry!!! Edit: since I can't answer your answer...first of all, I'm not Savić, but Slavić...secondly, where did I write that I was "a restaurant guest or that I was already sitting in the restaurant"...???? First of all, I came at 20:57...that's definitely before 21:00...and orders are accepted until 21:00 if the kitchen is open by then...secondly, the waitress said that the kitchen is open until 21:00 or 20:30...??? Come on, make an agreement until what time you work and let us know so we know!! And finally, I'm curious about what kind of fast food or snack bar you're talking about??? How long does it take you to serve kebabs or mixed meat?? Basically, if you had the will and culture, you would serve every guest...regardless of nationality and origin...and you didn't want to serve someone who speaks your language...and that says enough about you...

The reservation went well. I would definitely recommend the food. The service, or rather, the wait for the food to arrive, was too long. We had to wait an hour and a half for the food to arrive. But it was perfect for my wife and son, as they have celiac disease and need gluten-free food. They offer it here. I know it's difficult at first, but we'll definitely come back and try it again.

After over 40 years, the owner has changed. We were skeptical at first, but the food is excellent, as is the service. The location has always been first-class. The new owners have carefully modernized the ambiance, which is a great success. We wish Ana and Ivan and their team all the best, and we'll be happy to come back! Update on our second visit: yes, they're still learning, and they deserve it. There are a few gaps in the menu: lamb definitely needs to be added; it's missing. Otherwise, it's fantastic. The grilled liver is highly recommended!

After the reopening, the restaurant will once again become one of our regular haunts. Reservations were possible online and were confirmed quickly. The restaurant has retained its charm yet exhibits a new style. The menu is extensive, featuring familiar items as well as new ones, such as pizzas. Our meals were very good and delicious. The service was friendly. Payment is only possible in cash or by debit card, but this is clearly stated. Credit card payments are perhaps the only thing that could be improved. Our bank no longer accepts debit cards. So, everything was perfect. We would be happy to come back.

We went for dinner one afternoon, and it was very empty. Service was very friendly. The food was good, but not particularly tasty. The beef fillet was overcooked, and the pepper sauce simply tasted like peppercorns; something was missing. The potato wedges, on the other hand, were very tasty, but they don't serve them with mayo or ketchup. The side salad was too large in my opinion; half of it was just coleslaw and didn't taste of anything. The decor is okay, but several of the tablecloths were very dirty.

Pizza like back home! Calamari even better than before! Everything is absolutely delicious, I highly recommend it!

A lot of experience is still needed here... The memory card could have come from a snack bar, with almost no special dishes on offer. Are the roulades on offer just a dry cordon bleu? You have to be patient for the service, but the owner was friendly. Technological advances also put a stop to this; only debit cards and cash payments are accepted.

If you like Croatian cuisine, this is the place for you. Very good food, friendly staff and a beautiful garden where our dog is also welcome. Plus reasonable prices, we like to go there.

New owner since August 2025! The opening was a total disaster. Reservations didn't work, and unexpected rain drove many guests from the garden into the restaurant. After 40 minutes without service, we left.

Today we ordered a Zagreb platter for 2 people to pick up. The lady on the phone was very friendly and immediately pointed out that it would take about an hour because it was very busy. Wasn't a problem for us. The food was, as always, perfect. The staff is always friendly. We have enjoyed going there for years or getting food to take home. Have never been disappointed or treated unkindly.

Wenn man allerdings 10 Minuten nach 20.00 Uhr noch nicht seine Jacke an hat äusserst unfreundlicher Rauswurf. Hat mich geärgert und den Abend verdaut.
