Restaurant Untere Apotheke in Waiblingen

I received an exceptionally warm welcome and sensational food here. It deserves at least one star.

The two of us dined at the restaurant, which was very busy on a Monday evening. We enjoyed the food, with some slight reservations about the Iberico, which was a bit tough. The wine list was very good. The service was neither bad nor particularly good. What we didn't like was the ambiance, as the tables were extremely close together, thus eliminating any privacy. It's a shame; you could do better in this price range.

For our wedding anniversary, we reserved a table at the "Untere Apotheke" restaurant via OpenTable on the recommendation of friends. You can park conveniently in the parking garage around the corner for €3 in the evening. The ambiance in the restaurant is very pleasant and cozy. The friendly service is even more impressive; we quickly become fond of the empathetic and knowledgeable host, Pablo. The food selection varies according to the season – we had delicious Mediterranean dishes such as octopus, vitello tonnato, as well as meat and fish. Our vegetarian daughters also thoroughly enjoyed a Sardinian pasta dish and a "Trilogy of the Tuber." Finally, we thoroughly enjoyed the sophisticated desserts. In our opinion, they are Michelin-star quality. Not to be forgotten is the wine selection – exactly to our taste. The menu offers, among other things, a fine selection of Grand Crus from Germany and excellent wines from Austria. A truly lovely and successful evening. We would love to return soon.

I refer to Oliver Kern's review. We were seated at a table away on the evening in question and were able to witness the behavior of Mr. Kern's group firsthand. The service staff and the chef went above and beyond to fulfill all of Mr. Kern's and his guests' wishes. We were all the more shocked by the disrespectful behavior of Mr. Kern and his companions. This is not how you treat people. We expressed this personally that same evening – and at the same time emphasized that we were completely satisfied. The food, service, ambiance, and the warm hospitality of the hosts deserve an unconditional five stars from us.

Went here for a birthday party. We informed them in advance that we had a guest with a histamine intolerance. They even offered suggestions on what and how to serve the guest. Nothing. The "cheese salad" was a disgrace. The main course, just a bit of mashed potatoes, was a disgrace. While certain items weren't charged, the final result remains unsatisfactory. The management didn't consider it necessary to contact me afterward.

I'm simply speechless. We spent our Christmas party here and were treated to a 5-course menu with wine pairing. As someone who comes from a fine dining background and has high standards, I was taken to the next level here. Each course was a true explosion of flavor that completely blew me away – in the best possible way! The wines were perfectly matched to each dish, so precise and harmonious that it felt like they were created especially for that moment. I'm more than thrilled and can only recommend the Untere Apotheke without reservation. If there were more than 5 stars, I would give them without hesitation. An absolute must for anyone who appreciates exceptional cuisine! Additional comment: We're visiting again today, and what can I say? There's simply nothing to complain about. This is what you'd expect from a Michelin-starred restaurant! Keep up the good work, kudos to the whole team.

We've eaten at the Untere Apotheke in Waiblingen several times now – most recently yesterday evening. The cuisine remains truly outstanding in terms of flavor, with impeccable craftsmanship, creativity, and thoughtfulness. Without question, it's very, very tasty. What's increasingly annoying, however – and was particularly noticeable yesterday – is the surroundings, which simply no longer keep up with the current price level. Anyone who's listed on recommendation lists like the Michelin Guide and positions themselves in this gastronomic and price-related environment must also deliver the entire experience at this level, not just raise the price to it. If you consciously focus on small, minimalist dishes (which is perfectly fine), then bread, a little whipped butter, or olive oil should at least be served without being asked. Not as an "extra," but as a natural part of a high-quality menu. Otherwise, the whole thing quickly seems incomplete and lacking in love – and that's exactly what shouldn't happen in this league. The service yesterday also clearly had room for improvement: Orders were interrupted before you could even finish them, or they were completely forgotten. There was a lack of attention, a lack of calm, and a lack of the feeling of being perceived as a guest. When finger food like tacos is served, I also expect hand-washing facilities to be provided at the table – wet wipes or a warm cloth are standard in this price range. Conclusion: Very good cuisine – but the overall impression is no longer right. As standards and external image continue to rise, service, attention to detail, and guest care must necessarily keep pace. Otherwise, the experience won't live up to the price. We'll let the experience sink in and will stop by again in due course, hoping that the positive criticism was taken seriously.

This is the most delicious meal I have had in 10 years. Everything was made with Care and precision. The food was local and even the salad and the dessert and ‘amuse bouche’ and the main course were spectacular. We will absolutely come again!

Simply WOW! I want to tell you about our perfect day at the Untere Apotheke. While looking for a restaurant for dinner after the registry office, we came across this restaurant. The doors were opened just for us that day. Everything was beautifully decorated and prepared. From start to finish, everything was simply perfect. From the champagne reception to dessert, everything was there. Every course melted in our mouths, like butter. And here we were not only served an incredibly delicious meal. No, the service was first class; you can honestly say we were completely satisfied and it couldn't have been better. We would like to thank the entire team again for making our day simply perfect.

Wonderful girls' evening on a warm evening in May. We were treated to culinary delights surrounded by half-timbered buildings. A first-class culinary excursion at a very high level. Anyone who thinks that particularly good food can only be found in the state capital is completely wrong - the Lower Pharmacy is the best proof. Greeted by very attentive staff, an enjoyable evening begins in a beautiful atmosphere with a phenomenal greeting from the kitchen. From beetroot salad to cheese buttons and a successful dessert, you are well served with a good selection of wines. All in all a very very nice and enjoyable evening 10/10. This was certainly not the last visit.

As expected, there was a lot going on today on Valentine's Day. The food was very good. The tables are very close together, which seems a little depressing. The service is very courteous and quick. BUT... even if the place is on fire and we ask for dessert for the third time after waiting an hour... and I always hear "I've already seen something - it's already in the works"... then you can ask the boss emphatically. However, he had no understanding of that...after all, I would see that there was a lot going on and it's not like that didn't happen!! All right... boss, I got it! As friendly as the boss was at the beginning, there was nothing left of it afterwards... he punished us with ignorance. Food great, service great... but the boss doesn't deserve a star. Unfortunately, in one careless moment, one person can have a lasting impact on the overall impression. Too bad.

Haben das Restaurant zufällig beim Vorbeilaufen entdeckt, der Blick auf die ausgehängte Abendkarte schien verheißungsvoll. Dann 2 Tage später einen Tisch reserviert und zu Abend gegessen. 3 Gänge aus dem Menü gewählt, Änderungen waren problemlos machbar, bei teureren Gerichten ist evtl. ein Aufpreis fällig. Es erwartet einen keine Sterneküche aber die Ansprüche des Teams sind zurecht ambitioniert. Es gab wirklich nichts zu tadeln, Saucen, Sude und Dressings waren superlecker. Da konnte man den eingedeckten Esslöffel gut gebrauchen. Dazu gibt's je nach Anzahl Gängen eine passende Weinbegleitung mit durchaus positiven Überraschungen. Service und Ambiente sind leger, Preise angemessen.

Essen, Service geht einfach nicht mehr besser ! Vor allem aber auch die Optik der servierten Gericht ist einfach nur schön. Wir sind happy, dass es so ein schönes Restaurant gibt, mit dem wir auch Gästen eine Freude machen können. Bitt weiter so !

Wir waren vor einem Monat schon einmal hier. Und obwohl wir in Flein Handball spielten, haben wir extra in Waiblingen übernachtet, weil wir dieses Restaurant so gut fanden. Und wir wurden nicht enttäuscht. Smørebrød, Radichio, Rehrücken, Kalbsbäckchen, beide Nachspeisen...Extraklasse. Dieser Chefkoch ist ein Genie. Er spielt mit Aromen. Und das unglaublich gut. Selbst wenn wir in Hamburg Handball spielen...wir werden in Waiblingen übernachten.

Etwas lange Wartezeiten, guter sehr freundlicher Service Hauptgericht ( Hähnchen / Fregola ) mit ein bisschen viel Fregola und wenig Huhn und zu wenig Rosenkohl) tolle Soße.

Eingang mit Rollstuhl (2Stufen) zugänglich. Toilette sehr großzügig, leider keine Haltegriffe. Das Essen (Silvestermenü) war hervorragend. Sehr freundliche Gastgeber. Preis=Wert

We like to go to restaurants, including starred restaurants. The “lower pharmacy” absolutely does not have to take a back seat here. A simple, modern atmosphere, attentive service without being intrusive. We both had the five course meal. Wonderful compositions, every single component is good to taste, very attractively presented, the wines correspond. The “Lower Pharmacy” is definitely recommended. And if you don't want to eat a menu, there is also a completely "normal" menu. Watching the chefs through the glass panes in the kitchen is a pleasure.

Ich bin rundum zufrieden. Service freundlich schnell aber unaufdringlich. Die Portionen der Hauptgerichte sind nicht auf Sattwerden ausgerichtet. Das wird man nur mit Vorspeise und wahrscheinlich Nachtisch. Das ist dann der Hunderter weg. Für wen das ok ist der hat ein schönes kulinarisch lang anhaltendes Erlebnis.

Alles wunderbar, sehr freundliches Personal, Essen mit besten Lebensmitteln gekocht, immer frisch, sehr schön präsentiert. Die Portionen sind etwas knapp (Beilagen), selbst für mich als Frau die keine großen Portionen braucht. Grundsätzlich ein Restaurant in das wir sehr gerne gehen und sehr empfehlen können.

Das beste (und raffinierteste) Risotto meines Lebens. Meine Partnerin hatte Ente. Das Kraut war ausgezeichnet, nur das Fleisch war etwas zu zäh. Alles in allem ein köstliches Essen.

Wir wurden sehr freundlich empfangen und in das sehr geschmackvolle umgebaute Restaurant geführt. Service, Menü war perfekt. Ich hatte das vegetarische Menü und war beeindruckt von den verschiedenen Geschmacksrichtungen. Dessert war auch sehr gut. Das Essen ist besonders hübsch angerichtet. Ein kurzes Gespräch mir dem netten Chef hat den Abend abgerundet. Preis-Leistung ist sehr gut. Empfehlenswert. Sehr schöne Inneneinrichtung.

A wonderful all-round experience! We immediately felt at home when we were greeted, the staff was warm and gave recommendations. The greeting from the kitchen was particularly nice and got us in the mood for the great food. The ambience is very pleasant, beautiful light, the music is harmonious, cozy furnishings and the open kitchen, which you can see into, gives the restaurant a special atmosphere. The food was of a high standard - the dishes were not only well prepared, but also very well balanced in terms of taste. The wine selection was large and matched the dishes. Ich hatte einen Tisch am Sonntag Mittag auf der Marktplatz Terrasse gebucht, der jedoch nicht existierte und ich würde diesbezüglich vorab nicht informiert! Wir konnten draußen sitzen, jedoch hinten raus mit schäbiger Hinterhofatmosphäre. Die Mittagstischkarte offerierte lediglich 3 Gerichte (Fleisch , Fisch, vegetarisch). Ein Unding! Das Essen war soweit ok, jedoch weit entfernt von kreativer und liebevoll angerichteter Sterneküche. Ich war sehr enttäuscht. Den Mittagstisch kann ich definitiv nicht empfehlen.

Waiblingen has a special pearl to eat and the concept of having your own field for produce makes my heart beat faster. I've never eaten a catfish (slightly crispy), anyone who knows the wabelfish knows what I'm talking about, so I was amazed at what I was allowed to eat. A dream from the greeting to the adios simply fantastic... Thanks to everyone in the kitchen and the service team

The desserts of this quality cannot be found anywhere except here. Very tasty wines at fair prices make it easier to enjoy the great creations. An extremely interesting restaurant. The food is very good with an intelligent flair to it. Many of the fruits and vegetables they grow themselves are of organic quality, going straight from the plant onto the plate! Many restaurants could take an example from them. The wine list is small but very fine, with some wines that are hard to come by but worth tasting. Most are available by the glass, all very reasonably priced, bordering on extremely affordable. If they have the Crema Catalana, order it. It's the perfect example of their cooking: great, tasty food with an extremely special and intelligent kick. Bon appétit

Dies ist das 3. Mal, dass ich in dieses Restaurant komme. Immer gutes Essen und schönes Ambiente. Vor allem im Sommer auf der Terrasse. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Das Essen sieht nicht nur schön aus, sondern schmeckt auch fantastisch. Ich liebe es, dass die Speisekarte oft wechselt. Immer eine Überraschung!

By chance we came to this very beautiful, very friendly and very enjoyable restaurant. We ordered a seafood risotto with grilled sea bass for lunch. The result: This dish was an absolute delight!!!!. The owner himself works towards the guests in a very pleasant and very friendly communicative manner!!!!. The interior of the restaurant is beautifully decorated, so you immediately feel very comfortable. We come from Stuttgart and this has become a new restaurant for us!!!. Just a small note, from September 1st, 2024, Sundays are closed, previously Mondays. A 100% recommendation from us and we wish the owner and team the greatest possible success.
