Restaurant Thassos in Oldenburg (Oldb)

It took 75 minutes for the food to arrive; we would have appreciated being informed that it would take longer. The food was standard fare, if that's your thing. We Germans are to blame for Greek restaurants serving such fare, because authentic Greek cuisine is delicious, but it's nothing like the food here.

Highly recommended restaurant. Cozy atmosphere, friendly staff, who never lose track of the crowd, despite several large groups. The food arrived quickly and was very tasty. Those arriving by car will have to be lucky to get one of the few parking spaces in front of the restaurant. But that's perhaps the only negative aspect. Otherwise, highly recommended!

Authentic Greek: a culinary getaway! Thassos is a true highlight for anyone who loves Greek cuisine. We had a grilled plate with tender lamb, spicy liver, juicy chicken breast, Suzuki, gyro, crispy fries, and a fresh side salad with coleslaw, tzatziki, and beans – simply perfect! We also had a gyro plate, also with fries and a side salad. The meat was incredibly tender and flavorful, and everything was perfectly seasoned. The food arrived very quickly after ordering, which further enhanced the positive impression. The ambiance is cozy and authentic, the staff warm and attentive; you feel like you're on vacation in Greece. The photos show a strong connection to Oldenburg and the restaurant guests. The restaurant was busy, but we still managed to get a table even though we didn't have a reservation.

We were here for the first time. Without a reservation. It wasn't quite working out. The gyro was perfect, exactly to my taste. The lamb chops were unfortunately stringy. The fish was a bit dry.

Hello to the team at Restaurant Thassos, I recently had dinner at your restaurant with my family and I can only take my hat off because of my enthusiasm. We are absolutely thrilled! The variety of the menu, the excellent taste of the dishes and the warm treatment of the guests make a visit to this lovingly run family business a real experience. If you like good Greek food, you will find it here. The portion sizes are very extensive and the prices are also right. Everything was to our satisfaction. Food and service 1a. Child friendly. We'll definitely be back.

I love this place! The owner is a super nice and hard-working person. The team is very accommodating and nice. I personally like the food very much and have always been full. In my opinion, the P/L ratio is also very good. The atmosphere and mood in the store is good and I always enjoy coming there.

We were back in Thasos after a very long time - Table was reserved in advance for 4 adults - Finding a parking space was difficult - Restaurant was already very busy at half past six, loud background noise - large menu - lots of choice - priced completely within the framework - were greeted nicely - Fast processing of our order - Card payment possible - Unfortunately only two of the 4 plates were preheated - Since we each ordered a plate for two, the table was very cramped and we had to move some of our salad plates and tzatziki to the windowsill - In addition, it was not possible to properly put the plates on the table due to lack of space - When I asked if an extension of the table would be possible, it was rejected because there was no extension - Unfortunately there were no heat plates for us, so our food got cold in no time and we left some of it standing because it was cold - as an apology there were two ice cream sundaes for 4 people - Drinks were only asked once and at the very beginning

Typical Greek cuisine, no frills. Decent portions, but there are also menus for small appetites that are also very tasty. Staff always friendly and accommodating. Price-performance ratio absolutely okay.

Authentic Greek restaurant with a nice atmosphere. Good selection of dishes, also suitable for vegetarians! So far we have enjoyed everything here. Very child-friendly staff. We always enjoy coming here. You can park for free either in front of the restaurant or in the surrounding side streets.

Maybe it was on Saturday evening, but it was very loud, very crowded, very narrow and took a very long time. Waited 30 minutes for the food and the bill as well. Have asked 3 times! Food: okay, it was too much meat and not enough fresh side dishes for me. Why not have a mixed salad with your meal as standard, why just canned cabbage and beans? Hmmm.

Super nice service and we spent great Greek evenings there. Food is always very good. Yesterday on July 14th, 2022 we once again spent a lovely evening here. The food was excellent, the service was very friendly and high praise to the kitchen. We were there yesterday (October 11th, 2024) and were pleasantly surprised again. Everything was perfect.

Essen zum Mitnehmen bestellt. Gyros, Bifteki, Suvlaki. Pünktlich fertig. Zu Hause vorgefunden: Bifteki verbrannt, trocken und eigentlich ungenießbar. Suvlaki zäh, schlecht gewürzt. Gyros: Große, teils auch verbrannte Stücke. Ein Drittel war genießbar, der Rest wanderte in die Tonne. Hier bestelle ich bestimmt nicht noch einmal.

Went there again today for the first time in 15 years and the gyros were simply great. Very nice and child friendly store.

Absolutely friendly service, very attentive and nice. A rustic atmosphere, even if it is perhaps a bit old. The portions aren't too big, like you often find in Greek restaurants, but we still didn't manage to finish everything. We will be happy to come back again.

My wife and I visited this restaurant for the first time on a Thursday evening after making a reservation. What we immediately noticed was the incredible hustle and bustle in this restaurant. After a brief greeting, we were shown to a table. It became clear that the waiter didn't know anything about a reservation. Well, we now had a place. The restaurant was well attended. After successfully ordering, our food came in a reasonable time. The quality was below average, both visually and in terms of taste. Carelessly slammed onto the plate, without any effort to decorate. The fries were an absolute joke. Small, thin and dry. When I asked the waiter, he noticed that the chef had simply ordered different fries. There's probably nothing you can do about that. We didn't feel welcome or comfortable there. Absolute mass production. We will not visit this restaurant a second time. Luckily there are enough alternatives.

Wir waren insgesamt 3x im Thassos. Eindeutig der schlechteste Grieche, den wir je besucht haben und das waren sehr sehr viele. Das Fleisch war nicht richtig durchgebrannt, viel zuwenig Sauce bei Giros/Metaxasauce und die Pommes gross, labberig und geschmacklos. Für uns hat sich dieses Restaurant erledigt, keine Empfehlung!

I have been a guest there for over 30 years. Actually says it all. The food is always very plentiful and tasty. The price remained normal, which can no longer be said about other restaurants in Oldenburg. The music could be a little quieter, it was a bit annoying on the last visit. Urlaub in Griechenland? Thassos! Der Besuch im Thassos ist wie ein Kurzurlaub im Süden: ein ehrlich freundliches Team empfängt Dich herzlich und umsorgt Dich, sodass Du in kürzester Zeit meinst, Oldenburg ist weit, weit weg... Zu unserem Besuch am Hochzeitstag war der Tisch hübsch geschmückt und die Begrüßung wieder so warmherzig, dass es ein echtes "Nach Hause- Kommen" war. Wenn jemand meint, hier schlecht benoten zu müssen, lügt der oder ist vollkommen weltfremd! Ich schenke es mir, hier aus der Speisekarte zu zitieren oder Fragen à la: "Haben die dieses? Haben die jenes?" zu beantworten - im Zweifel haben "sie" es! Das Haus ist großzügig angelegt, aber so geschnitten, dass die große Hochzeitsgesellschaft ebenso ein gemütliches Plätzchen findet, wie das sich nach trauter Zweisamkeit sehnende Paar. Auch mit Gehbehinderung findet sich überall ein lauschiges Plätzchen. Da es Senioren- und Kinderteller gibt, scheinen auch die lieben Kleinen willkommen zu sein; wohl aufgrund der von mir bevorzugten Uhrzeit habe ich aber noch nie Kinder dort gesehen. Zu erreichen ist das Thassos mit dem Bus, aber es gibt vor dem Haus auch einige Parkplätze, ansonsten muss man halt wenige Meter laufen. Wenn Du jetzt unbedingt eine Auszeit brauchst, der Urlaub ist jedoch noch fern, dann fahre doch einfach nach Griechenland - geh ins "Thassos"! Das Gute liegt so nah... Update 04.01.2024: Es hat sich nichts geändert - alles noch mindestens genau so gut, wie seit jeher. Der Laden brummt und das mit Recht! Man kommt quasi nach Hause und wird wärmstens empfangen. Mich würde ernsthaft interessieren, ob schon einmal jemand die Küche in die Knie gezwungen hat - ich glaube nicht, dass...

Essen lecker, jedoch wenig auf dem Teller Bedienung gut, es gab auch eine unangebrachten Bemerkungen Werde ich nicht weiterempfehlen

Wir waren mit mehreren Personen zum ersten Mal im Thassos: Die Bedienung war nicht sehr aufmerksam. Bestellte Getränke mussten mehrfach nachgefragt werden. Die Rechnung kam erst auf den vierten Hinweis. Mein Bifteki war außen fast schwarz und innen fast roh. Die Pommes waren kalt und hart. Das Gyros meiner Frau war nicht auch nicht wirklich durch, dafür aber die Pommes ok. Die Teller waren lieblos angerichtet. Da hilft dann auch kein zweiter oder dritter Ouzo mehr. Fazit: Nach diesem Eindruck. Es gibt in Reichweite deutlich bessere Griechen.

Als Kenner und Fan der griechischen Küche in Deutschland waren wir bisher 2x im Restaurant Thassos. Beim 1. Mal hatte 1 Person einen Kritikpunkt am Essen, die Reaktion darauf war enttäuschend. Beim 2.Mal war das Essen bei uns beiden nicht in Ordnung: u.a. Bifteki noch halb roh und matschige Pommes Frites. Sehr schade, da das Restaurant quasi um die Ecke liegt, aber die beiden Erfahrungen reichen, um es nicht noch ein 3.Mal auszuprobieren.

War alles sehr gut und sehr voll.

Unser neues Lieblingsrestaurant. Das Essen war jedesmal sehr gut und wir wurden immer sehr aufmerksam und freundlich bedient. Hier fühlen wir uns sehr wohl.
