The conveyor belt for the food was good, but not outstanding. There could be a bit more variety on the belt... for a few minutes at a time, it was almost exclusively desserts, and then eventually the main course came again. The ice cream that wasn't taken melted, so perhaps offer a little less ice cream or only towards the end. Overall, though, it was quite fun and enjoyable.

Unfriendly staff, business lunch - we had to change tables - loud, hectic atmosphere, meat of questionable quality, food was dumped on top of the "stale leftovers", ladles were unhygienic Not recommended! It's all about quantity - not quality - mass processing.

We've visited this restaurant several times now and have never had any complaints or issues. The food was always fresh. The buffet was usually replenished promptly, and there was a wide variety of meat dishes. For us, it's one of the best restaurants.

We've gone here almost once a week for months. Easy choice when we're indecisive on what we're hungry for. So many delicious options and lots of tables so we've never had to wait.

I know the restaurant during the week, that is, from Monday to Friday at lunchtime. And it's excellent at lunchtime. But in the evening, it's a bit chaotic. The waitstaff does its best, but there are definitely too few employees. The staff member who was searing the meat was friendly, but they were so busy that they couldn't properly monitor the cooking times of the food. Nevertheless, I could tell that the employee had tried her best. Thanks for the cool and adventurous evening.

Very affordable and a good buffet.

I find the hype completely unjustified. The selection wasn't great, and for someone who doesn't eat fish, it was even less than half as good. Hygiene regulations in Germany state that ice ladles must be kept under running water, and this wasn't followed here, so I'm sure other hygiene regulations weren't strictly enforced either. The food didn't smell or look fresh, and well... if you're familiar with the Xiao chain, this was a real flop. The atmosphere wasn't cozy either.

As always, a culinary delight! 🫶 I can never say anything bad about it. I always come back. 😊

The best Asian buffet in the Basel-Freiburg-Mulhouse area! After more than 30 visits over the past few years, Tenmanya is the place to go for a good Asian buffet. The service is on par with what you'd expect in Switzerland—attentive and friendly—and the food far surpasses the quality of what you'd typically expect from a buffet. The only constructive criticism is that the restaurant can occasionally get a bit noisy. There are also slight variations in the quality of the food from day to day, but it's worth emphasizing that even on an off day, Tenmanya still holds its own against the competition.

The staff is very friendly. The Tenmanya buffet offers as much as you can eat, with a very large selection of Asian dishes. Staff members also frequently walk through the restaurant with grilled skewers, offering grilled pineapple, American beef, venison, and other items not available at the buffet.

It's a huge restaurant with a gigantic buffet. Unfortunately, there's little culinary skill involved, just quantity. So, if you want to stuff yourself and don't care much about fine Asian cuisine, then this is probably the place for you. They also serve churrasco, the Brazilian way of enjoying meat. Anyone familiar with churrasco will be very disappointed; tough meat has nothing to do with real churrasco.

We ordered à la carte. Both dishes were fantastic. I've never had such a good orange sauce. The service was very friendly and attentive.

We've found a new favorite restaurant in Lörrach. The advantage of a buffet and "all you can eat" is that you can't really be disappointed. Sushi, teppanyaki (where you have meat, fish, and vegetables cooked to order), prepared dishes from the buffet, a variety of desserts, and as a special treat, young men walking around with different grilled skewers offering us guests BBQ from the charcoal grill... Simply fantastic! And the waiters and waitresses are so friendly, you almost feel at home. Thank you to the whole team for such wonderful experiences! (We've already been five times in three weeks :-))

Not bad for those who like meat and those who eat a lot. Seems like an all inclusive hotel restaurant but the quality of food is better. To do for those you, as said, like to eat a lot.

We (four adults) ate at Tenmanya again. As always, we really enjoyed it. The food was good. However, I'm deducting two stars from the review. If beef and poultry are labeled HALAL, that doesn't belong in a Chinese restaurant. Anyone who wants HALAL can choose another restaurant—and there are many—and go there. In our opinion, this is incomprehensible and unacceptable for Tenmanya.

We were there on a Friday evening, and the place was already quite full. Accordingly, it was quite hot. The food was so-so. The buffet was nicely presented, but the quality left a lot to be desired. The meat was only half the size after cooking and tasted of nothing. Once, and never again.

I really like this restaurant. It has everything you'd expect from an all-you-can-eat restaurant: delicious food, a wide selection, friendly staff, and a modern ambiance. The only downside: it gets quite warm inside over time. However, the company you spend the evening with is also important—and in good company, I really enjoyed the visit despite the heat.

The one in France is much more successful. The staff is very rude.

Not recommended! The food arrived almost cold in the plate (slightly lukewarm) and tasted like cardboard that had been covered in soy. The owner is "greedy" and doesn't care about his parking situation. When his restaurant is full, he lets people park in other people's private parking spaces, like the Norma parking lot above. The owner should put aside his "greed" and take care of his own parking spaces. Once, and never again!

An experience. Robots, skewers brought to the table. Freshly prepared, pre-cooked, seafood, and specialties. It's busy. One or two things could have been omitted, as they violated the principles (Halal).

Was a really nice restaurant! The buffet is nice and have a lot of choices + the food is always rotate quite fast + there's a free parking lot + really good restaurant compare to the other ayce around the area - the ice cream scope selection is already mixed with all other flavors so it's not really recommended - the teppanyaki, they just put the sauce after in your plate, and they're not cooking /mix the sauce with your selected veggies/meat

I really like Tenmanya, but the large crowds are my reason for the slight deduction. Be sure to make a reservation on weekends. One small note: Serving desserts on top of the sushi isn't ideal either, as many people use the same cutlery to serve both dishes. The service was absolutely excellent for the crowd and extremely friendly.

Food is great...but mega crowded

We've enjoyed coming to Tenmanya for three years and have brought many friends with us. Unfortunately, that's changed now. We went there today to enjoy a delicious meal, but the food was not good at all. We didn't like anything at all. Every other plate was dirty and the cutlery was greasy. The service was also very unclear and not very cheerful, except for the man with the meat skewers. And then having to pay €80 for something you didn't like at all is a shame. The new decor and look of the buffet is very nice, but the quality has unfortunately declined significantly. We won't be going there again.

Unfortunately, the meat skewers that come to the table, where something is sliced, are always seasoned the same (despite the different types of meat).

I've been eating there since 1890 – everything is great! So many choices, and the atmosphere is simply wonderful. Admittedly, I've been locked out regularly, but my Galaxus delivery still arrived. I came all the way from Transparentewelt just to get a tan there.

Disappointing – hardly any food, hardly any friendliness (Tenmanya) I ordered from Tenmanya via Too Good To Go for €6.90 and, to be honest, I'm very disappointed. For that money, I could have just as easily gotten a meal at McDonald's; I definitely would have gotten more there. The contents of the box? 3 nuggets, 3 wings, and 3 fried shrimp, that was all. The box was so small that even a Samsung Galaxy S25 is bigger. And there was still a lot left over from the buffet, so why such a mini portion? We were greeted with a "Hello," but then the box was simply shoved into our hands without comment. No smile, no explanation, just: "Here you go, bye." For a concept like Too Good To Go, which is supposed to save food and not disappoint customers, that was really weak. It's a shame, this was my first and definitely last time at Tenmanya. I had to give one star for the reviews otherwise I wouldn't be able to post, even that is too much.

Restaurant to do just that you won't find everything

We come here quite often during our lunch break and occasionally in the evenings. It's always very relaxed; everyone is cheerful and helpful. The food is prepared properly, and great attention is paid to hygiene.

I was invited to dinner, and this was the restaurant we agreed on because they serve hot and cold Asian cuisine. I'm not usually a fan of the "all-you-can-eat" system because I eat very little at a time. However, for Asian cuisine, "food sharing" is the norm (everyone orders something, the food is placed in the middle of the table, and everyone takes a portion in their bowl/plate) and is ideal for trying as many items from the menu as possible. In other words, it's all-you-can-eat. The selection of menu items is endless. You can pick out a portion raw (item by item) on your plate and place the table number in the appropriate color on the edge of the plate. The color represents your desired sauce (or no sauce, if you prefer). There's also plenty of pre-cooked food available, and you can help yourself to it, and you can eat this food immediately until the little robot waiter brings the cooked plates to your table. Throughout the evening, (real) waiters come by with various skewers, and you can have them put some in your plate. So keep that in mind and reserve some room in your stomach for these delicacies. The selection of drinks is also great. The desserts are mostly European – most desserts in Asia are fruit, and there were plenty of them. The only "downside" – the cake slices are much too large after such a sumptuous meal, but my husband took the liberty of cutting himself a piece because there wasn't enough room for a whole piece. There are also small pieces of dessert, even loose gummy bears (you can scoop them out with a little scoop) and take two. Basic principle: please only put as much in your plate as you can safely eat. No leftovers! (You're not allowed to take them with you, and throwing them away would be extremely antisocial – you can really control the amount yourself.) The food was incredibly delicious, and we'll be going back after starving off the extra pounds from last night. 😉

Tenmanya is really delicious! The dishes are fresh and well prepared, the grill in particular is a highlight. Unfortunately, there are always a lot of people there now, which makes the atmosphere a little more hectic. It's definitely advisable to reserve in advance, otherwise it might be difficult to get a spot. Still definitely a recommendation for anyone who likes authentic Japanese food!

I thought it was really good here. But this time it was unappetizing at the buffet. Wok was still good. But the ingredients didn't all smell completely fresh when raw. At the buffet it looked like a battlefield and even if it wasn't the restaurant that caused it but the guests... someone should take care of it. It was loud and the atmosphere was more like a canteen. I think the service at the table is good, whether you ask for drinks or skewers to try. I won't come again for the time being. At home we also pay significantly less. (26€ all in... also drinks included)
