Restaurant Syrtaki in Berlin

I've eaten at many Greek restaurants. But I've never experienced anything like this before. The service seems to be too busy entertaining regulars. We were completely ignored for at least 15 minutes. You sit in a noisy lobby, desperately waiting for drinks and then again for the food. The ambiance reminds me more of a train station than a Greek restaurant. The food was okay, apart from the price. You won't see me here again. Too bad, we just moved to Blankenburg and were hoping to find a cozy restaurant. This Greek place is definitely not it!

We visited Syrtaki for the first time today and were served quickly and in a friendly manner, even though the restaurant was very busy. The service was super friendly. We enjoyed the food. We'd be happy to come back. A.uH.

After over 15 years of impeccable service, they made a mistake with my order today. When they noticed it, the waitress immediately took responsibility, the kitchen responded quickly, and I promptly received what I ordered. And it was once again really good, excellent. Seriously, what more could you want? I'm happy, full, and blissful. I always enjoy coming here.

Yes, I can still highly recommend it. The food still tastes great, and the plates are always full. It's just a shame that it's gotten really expensive these days. But that's the case everywhere.

We've been enjoying our meal here for many years and have always been very satisfied. 😊 The staff is very polite, the menu offers exactly what you'd expect, and the food tastes really good. 🍽️✨ However, after our last visit, I have to address a few honest criticisms: 1️⃣ It's still not possible to pay with Visa or debit card. This surprises me and, to be honest, annoyed me – these days, it should be a given. Therefore, you should have enough cash on you or a regular debit card. Improvement would be urgently needed! 2️⃣ The salad starter is, in my opinion, much too large. Many guests leave a large portion untouched – smaller portions would certainly be a good idea. 3️⃣ When we ordered an additional dish, we were served the wrong dish. Perhaps it was due to the loud music in the restaurant and was misunderstood. 🤷‍♂️ 4️⃣ Our ordered iced coffees were unfortunately forgotten and arrived later – already melted. A real shame. 5️⃣ The price-performance ratio has changed significantly in recent years. Compared to other Greek restaurants, we pay an average of around €35-40 more here for 4-5 people, which is a significant difference. So overall, unfortunately, this time, only ⭐⭐. I really hope these points improve on my next visit – then I'll give them more stars. 🌟

I can highly recommend this place but not for vegans there are many delicious things also a children's menu so a very nice restaurant

We went there for dinner with friends on Friday. The service was very friendly and prompt, even though almost all the tables were occupied. Our two dogs were very welcome, and we were offered a table right outside, which was ideal. The food was plentiful and truly excellent.

I don't think the quality of the food is up to par for the price. There's room for improvement; perhaps it's gotten a bit "stale" after all these years. The restaurant has continually expanded to accommodate more seating. Perhaps that's not always the smartest solution in the long run. And why can you only pay in cash for pickup? 🤷‍♀️

Everything's fine...but "1 alcohol. Free beer 4.50" is too much on the bill and the state also earned a good 43.26.

The food was quite tasty. However, it's not suitable for vegetarians or vegans. The staff were very confused. I said I didn't want any cheese, and they put cheese on it and offered to bring me another one. Then they offered to bring us a second Coke, but we didn't order it. I also think it's way too expensive for what you get. At least the atmosphere was nice.

We love going there, but also for personal highlights. The food was always delicious and hot. The garlic bread was an absolute highlight. To this day, we've always been very satisfied.

The food tasted good, but everything was quite overpriced for my taste. Since half of my meal was left over, I asked the server to pack the rest for me. When I got home, I was excited for my meal, but there was no salmon fillet, no broccoli with sauce, and no garlic potatoes. The plate included salad. But I finished my salad! Never again! This is cheating and unacceptable!!!

Great atmosphere, delicious food!

We come here very often because we simply enjoy the food and everything is just right. Reservations are a must, as it's always busy. All the staff are very efficient and friendly, even though it can often be very busy. We come here at least once a month, so I'd say we're already regulars. Keep it up.

You can't sit comfortably there for long; it's far too loud from the background noise and there are too many customers. I know other Greek restaurants where the food tastes better and isn't quite as expensive.

Run-of-the-mill "Greek." Bad gyros for over €20. Typical grilled dishes on the menu. Sorry, this has nothing to do with Greek food culture. Please avoid.

So if you want to have a good Greek meal then off to Berlin-Blankenburg, more precisely to Alt - Blankenburg / Blankenburg Church Can only be recommended

We came here as a family for dinner. We enjoyed excellent, authentic Greek 🇬🇷 cuisine. The food was truly delicious, and the portions were generous. Delicious ouzo before and after our meal. The staff was very polite and attentive. We highly recommend it and give it 5 stars.

It used to be a great restaurant. Unfortunately, today's visit was more than disappointing. No bread was served with the €27 appetizer platter. The chicken tasted of nothing, the pork skewer wouldn't come off the skewer, the meat was tough, and the gyro was unfortunately streaked with fat. The garlic bread tasted only of feta. So, almost everything stayed on the plate. The waiter frantically cleared the food without asking how we liked it. As I said, it used to be a great place.

Finally back here after two years, it was delicious - but I expect a bit more for a main course from my former favorite Greek restaurant of decades... especially when I see the prices here, which are on average almost €5 more than the usual prices of comparable Greek restaurants 🧐 I had the Artemis pan and I'm not sure if it really had pork fillet... (the waiter said it was split in half and then pounded flat so it could be grilled) because, at about 14 x 8 cm, it was more like a schnitzel or back pork, and it was also cooked through and a bit dry. The rest was good, though. I should mention that they have Duckstein on tap... 🎉Jámas 🍺😜

It was another try, and from now on, it's not necessarily one of my favorites. Ouzo isn't required, but it would show me I'm welcome. There wasn't one... A beer now costs €5.80...😳 For two of us (one starter, two main courses), we paid €105. We'll find another local.

I was there for the first time in a long time... I reserved a table, everything was great... Unfortunately, it was very crowded and accordingly loud... The food was good. Personally, I liked the Metaxa sauce better in the past, and the garlic potatoes were more garlic than potato; sometimes less is more. Nevertheless, I definitely recommend it, with a few reservations; we'll be happy to come back.

My 70th birthday was supposed to be special, but it was over after 2.5 hours. Instead of singing, the ice cream sundae, which was initially served to our table as a regular order at my husband's request, was simply asked to take a photo. I couldn't shake the feeling that I'd stolen it, so I allowed myself to pay for it with the tip without paying for it. I didn't need to! And the order was definitely "birthday table for 8 people." The food came quickly and was tasty, but I don't need this place anymore, sorry.

Food was very tasty! I have rarely eaten so well! Staff was very friendly. Before dinner we were given a quarter liter of ouzo on the table. (That was well-intentioned, but way too much!) Otherwise, the restaurant can only be praised! Happy to come back next time!

We live in the neighboring district and came to this restaurant for the first time out of curiosity, as we otherwise drive further into town to eat. We were extremely positively surprised. I chose a grill plate. The lamb skewer was still slightly pink and the remaining meat was just as well cooked and seasoned. My wife chose the gyros baked with Metaxa sauce. The main courses included a small salad. All in all we were very satisfied. In my opinion, the quality of the food was higher than in 80% of most Greek restaurants. You want a restaurant like this in your neighborhood. A very polite service rounded off the visit. A good address if you are looking for Greek cuisine in Pankow. The restaurant also has a very large terrace, which makes it easy to sit outside when the weather is nice.

Food good, atmosphere large and sufficient but!!!they only accept EC card or cash... so no debitel card, in today's digital age that's not possible at all..

Just ate with 2 people and a child for 100 euros, tipped 10 euros and didn't get a single ouzo today. Very sad for a Greek that is otherwise quite expensive and quite good. The question to the kitchen as to whether there was alcohol in the tiramisu was also forgotten. Apparently the service didn't have its best day today.

Very clean restaurant, good selection of indoor and outdoor seating, friendly staff, great selection of food to enjoy on site or to take away, price performance is okay, of course everything has become a bit more expensive recently, but the quality is good. Update: Prices have gone up, but the food is still pretty darn tasty.

I like to eat there,...Bifteki needs a lot of improvement (hardly any sheep's cheese in it)...otherwise the dishes are very tasty

Greek isn't my thing, it's always hard on my stomach. The restaurant was really big and well filled. Overall it was very loud and it was very difficult to have a conversation. I found the meat dishes really expensive, but the portions were generous. The salad was very tasty and the rest of the food was also of good quality. Of course I ate something that wasn't typically Greek (chicken with mushroom sauce and fries) and yet I still had a hard time Stomach. The toilets were ok for the mass of people

We visit/visited Syrtaki regularly and were always satisfied. Unfortunately, things have gone downhill. Of course everything is getting more expensive, but then I can't let the service and food down. We've been there three times in a row and each time our food was cold, we had to wait up to 45 minutes, the drinks were deflated several times, and the glasses were foggy each time, which looks very unsightly. Unfortunately, things have gone downhill overall and the prices are really expensive, but then I expect that at least the overall quality is good. Unfortunately, we won't be coming back; it's just too much money. A real shame!

We've been to this restaurant a few times. The dishes are exceptionally tasty and generously portioned. The desserts are simply fantastic. The staff is always friendly and pays attention to details. Even when they are busy, they always smile at the children and pay attention to everyone. A sincere recommendation!

Total disaster! Waited 1 hour for starters and another hour for the main course. The service is completely haphazard and not at a loss for excuses. Never again!!!!!!!!!

Waited over an hour for the starter and then another hour for the main course. It doesn't work at all. Was definitely the last visit here. Order was forgotten. Then there was a round of drinks on the house, later another waiter came and said that since they had to apologize (he really said they had to), all drinks would be on the house. When it came time to pay, they said that the waiter would have to pay for the drinks himself. Of course we didn't pay for the drinks because they weren't on the bill. Guys, just get your shop in order...

A really great restaurant, the food and service were great. Normal prices for a typical Greek restaurant, but not too overpriced. There is a large terrace area which is definitely great to enjoy in the summer, but it is also very large inside. But it's a bit loud. Personally, it doesn't bother me that much. There is a really big salad before every main course. The plates are very well filled and very rich. I'd love to come back, and I'd be happy to spend a few euros more for such great food.

Unfortunately, we were only told at the table that we had to expect a wait of over an hour (it was 1.5 hours). The staff was overwhelmed. Food was good (prices on the upper level). The music was too loud for us.

The food is still very tasty, but now also extremely expensive. The service though... 👎 Reserved for Valentine's Day for 2 people. Despite having a reservation, I stood in line for 20 minutes waiting for a free spot. Then the two of us were given a table for 6 and it happened as it had to happen... strangers were seated at the table. If you want to eat for two on Valentine's Day, it's a mood killer. As if all that wasn't enough, we had to wait more than 1 1/2 hours for the food. All told, that was 2 hours of waiting time!!! As a restaurant, you should have enough staff there on a day like this so that guests don't have to wait hours for their food. If you don't have enough staff, you can't fill the hut to the roof. Let's talk about the ambience... there is nothing that absorbs the sound even a bit (e.g. plants or curtains or whatever). When the store is full, it is louder than a train station and conversation is only possible by shouting. I don't think I'll go there again.

Prices were outrageous and the fries were replaced with cheap garlic potatoes that didn't taste good. Luckily there are other Greek restaurants where the quality and prices are still right.

Very tasty, best country in Blankenburg

Compared to other Greek restaurants in the north of the city, we always come back to "Syrtaki". A little more expensive than the competition, the quality of the food is unbeatably high. Because it's so popular, it's always pretty crowded in the evenings, which increases the noise a bit. Anyone who doesn't get enough here has to eat inhuman quantities.

The food is too hearty and fried potatoes are swimming in fat. I ordered the meat medium rare, but it was fried almost raw! Guests are much too loud, so normal conversation is not possible.

I ate there today on the first day of Christmas with my family. I ordered my steak welldone, the waitress said it was good, so it wasn't cooked through, I just tried it even though it wasn't cooked through. Unfortunately, the second piece of meat was also far too bloody to eat. I lost my appetite and had no appetite anymore. Instead of listening to me, she immediately ran away with the plate. I had to talk to her again and then it was completely my fault. Instead of the lady not only serving her favorites and serving us half-heartedly then everything would have gone much better, thank you for the great food on the first day of Christmas.
